“Eyes blinded by the fog of things
cannot see truth.
Ears deafened by the din of things
cannot hear truth.
Brains bewildered by the whirl of things
cannot think truth.
Hearts deadened by the weight of things
cannot feel truth.
Throats choked by the dust of things
cannot speak truth.”
Harald Bell Wright – The Uncrowned King

I consider myself a seeker of truth. It isn’t easy finding it in todays’ world. In an alternate version of the famous scene from A Few Good Men, I picture myself telling Turbo Tax Timmy Geithner that I want the truth and his angry truthful response:

“Son, we live in a world that has Wall Street banks, and those banks have to be guarded by puppet politicians in Washington D.C. with lobbyist written laws and Madison Avenue PR maggots with media propaganda. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Representative Paul? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for the average middle class American family, and you curse the ruling oligarchs. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That the death of the American middle class, while tragic, probably saved the bonuses of thousands of Wall Street bankers. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, increases the wealth of these same bankers who destroyed the worldwide economic system in 2008. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about in the food bank line, you want me on Wall Street, you need me on Wall Street. We use words like derivative, fiscal stimulus, quantitative easing. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent syphoning off the wealth of the nation. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very debt that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up 1000 shares of Apple, and hope our high frequency trading supercomputers can ramp the market for a while longer. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.”

I find myself more amazed than ever at the ability of those in power to lie, misinform and obfuscate the truth, while millions of Americans willfully choose to be ignorant of the truth and yearn to be misled. It’s a match made in heaven. Acknowledging the truth of our society’s descent from a country of hard working, self-reliant, charitable, civic minded citizens into the abyss of entitled, dependent, greedy, materialistic consumers is unacceptable to the slave owners and the slaves. We can’t handle the truth because that would require critical thought, hard choices, sacrifice, and dealing with the reality of an unsustainable economic and societal model. It’s much easier to believe the big lies that allow us to sleep at night. The concept of lying to the masses and using propaganda techniques to manipulate and form public opinion really took hold in the 1920s and have been perfected by the powerful ruling elite that control the reins of finance, government and mass media.

Peddlers of Propaganda

“Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth.” Aldous Huxley – Brave New World

 File:Edward Bernays.jpg

Adolf Hitler understood the power of the big lie over the ignorant masses who want to believe:

“All this was inspired by the principle–which is quite true within itself–that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.” – Adolf Hitler – Mein Kampf

We are all liars. We lie to friends, family and co-workers. We convince ourselves they are only small lies and just protect others from being hurt. We would rather be lied to than face the blunt truth about our deficiencies, shortcomings and failures. Willfully believing mistruths allows a person to become dependent upon those promulgating the mistruths. It relieves them of their responsibility to act upon the knowledge that something is wrong and must be fixed. It is a cowardly path to ultimate servitude and destruction. The German people chose this path in the 1930s and the American people have chosen a similar and ultimately destructive path today. The United States Office of Strategic Services prepared a psychological profile report during the war describing Adolf Hitler’s method for controlling the minds of the German masses:

“His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.”

America’s corruptible politicians, greedy corporate chieftains, criminal banking overlords, and despicable media manipulators all learned the sordid lessons of mass propaganda from the masters. Our willingness to lie and be lied to set us up to be manipulated by those who understood the mass psychology of a nation. Goebbels and Hitler were heavily influenced by the father of propaganda – Edward Bernays. He and his disciples are professional poisoners of the public mind, exploiters of public foolishness and ignorance, and never allow truth to interfere with a good story. What master manipulators realized is that it is easier to change the attitude of millions than the attitude of one man. By analyzing and understanding the process and motives of how the group mind works, the invisible government has been able to manipulate and regulate the masses according to their will without the masses knowing they are being managed. Bernays described this elitist view of the world in 1928:

“Those who manipulate the unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. In almost every act of our lives whether in the sphere of politics or business in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires that control the public mind.” – Edward Bernays – Propaganda

The super-rich elite believe they are more intelligent, more capable of managing the affairs of state, masters of the financial world, and chosen to decide what is best for the masses. In reality, they are egocentric, psychotic, power hungry, myopic, self-serving ravenous vultures, feasting upon the carcass of a once great nation. Truth is inconsequential and irritating to their plans for world domination and control. Therefore, no truth will be forthcoming from any organization or person that is associated with the existing political, economic, financial or social order. Every bit of information that is permitted into the public realm has been vetted, manipulated and spun for public consumption. The public does not like bad news. They do not like hard facts. They do not like to think or do math. They want to be spoon fed mindless sound bites and happy talk. The oligarchs need to keep the masses sedated and subservient while they continue to plunder and pillage, so all data is massaged to provide a happy ending.

This is where I deviate from the ideologue one-trick ponies that refuse to see both sides of the issue. The ruling oligarchs are wealthy, influential, psychotic, amoral, and few. The masses are relatively poor, easily influenced, willfully ignorant, and many. The ruling oligarchs are most certainly evil, but the masses are not the hard working, stoic, downtrodden portrayed by liberal ideologues. One just needs to walk down the street in one of our urban enclaves, saunter through a suburban mall, or click on People of Wal-Mart to witness the tattooed, pierced, butt crack showing, slovenly, obese, and ignorant, attached to their electronic iGadgets, to understand how far our society has deteriorated.  Every individual born into this world has the capability to become educated, think critically, not follow the herd, live beneath their means, and not be influenced by propaganda. Aldous Huxley understood in 1931 that those in power could use material goods to invoke passivity and egotism among the populace. He feared that truth would be obscured by an avalanche of irrelevance (500 Reality TV shows), cultural trivialities (Lady Gaga, Lindsey Lohan), distractions (Professional sports), and pharmaceutical enhanced escape (Prozac). He saw the possibility that we would grow to love our servitude as the pleasures of life provided by our controllers overwhelmed any desire to think or question authority.

“There will be in the next generation or so a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them but will rather enjoy it.”  ― Aldous Huxley

By 1962 when Huxley wrote his last book, he was certain that his worst dystopian nightmares had been unleashed. His description of Western society fifty years ago could have been written today and accurately reflected our current economic paradigm. War, debt and consumption still make our world go round, but the end is nigh.

“Armaments, universal debt, and planned obsolescence – those are the three pillars of Western prosperity. If war, waste, and moneylenders were abolished, you’d collapse. And while you people are over-consuming the rest of the world sinks more and more deeply into chronic disaster.”Aldous Huxley – Island

The pillars are crumbling. The $1.4 trillion wasted on two worthless wars of choice in the Middle East, the trillions wasted and liberties sacrificed for the never ending unwinnable War on Terror, the Keynesian spending frenzy that has driven the National Debt from $9 trillion to $16.3 trillion in the last five years, the looting of the American taxpayer by Wall Street and their co-conspirators at the Federal Reserve and in Congress, and the belief that ramping up the debt driven consumption that drives 71% of our GDP is our path to prosperity is absolutely freaking nuts. The pillars will not be abolished willingly. The ruling class depends upon their continued existence and expansion. There is the rub. The math doesn’t work. We’ve reached the point where continued expansion of debt and money printing no longer works. With a national debt to GDP ratio of 102% and a total credit market debt to GDP ratio of 350%, we have passed the Rogoff & Reinhart point of no return. This time is not different. A country cannot run trillion dollar deficits indefinitely and expect to not suffer the consequences. This is why those in power are increasingly resorting to propaganda, data manipulation, and outright lies to convince the masses of their omnipotence and brilliance in managing the fiscal affairs of the state.

“One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them.” Aldous Huxley – Brave New World

Through decades of mass media messaging the masses have been conditioned to believe whatever those in power want them to believe. To our invisible government rulers we are nothing but rats to be manipulated through food pellets and shock therapy. Pleasure and fear of pain are the drivers of our warped society. The ruling oligarchs truly think they know what is best for the masses and believe any means is worthwhile as long as the ends support their agenda. This is blatantly obvious to anyone with their eyes open and their brain functioning. Sadly, the government run educational system produces mostly drones that are barely able to tie their own shoes, spell Cat, or make change from a one dollar bill. Only 20% of all high school seniors score high enough on the SAT test to get a B minus in college and most of these kids come from private and parochial schools. This is exactly what those in power prefer. They want non-critical thinking, mindless consumers, who don’t understand the criminal nature of Federal Reserve created inflation or their enslavement in the chains of debt at the hands of their Wall Street slave owners. They certainly don’t want the masses to understand that real median household net worth is lower today than it was in 1969. Luckily for the oligarchs, 95% of the public couldn’t define the terms: real, median or net worth. Math is hard.

The average person is inundated on a 24/7 basis with pabulum from liberal network media talking heads, CNBC Wall Street shills regurgitating whatever their sponsors desire, Fox News blonde bimbos and neo-con war mongers programmed to spew Rupert Murdoch talking points, MSNBC tingling leg faux journalists, NYT intellectually corrupt Nobel prize winners, NAR nitwits repeating “best time to buy” on a daily basis for the last 12 years, and government agencies whose sole purpose is to manipulate data in a way that supports the agenda of those in power. The intellectually lazy and willfully ignorant masses are no match for those who control the message and the media. How else can you explain their ability to convince millions of drones to line up for hours in front of a store and stampede like crazed hyenas to grab a $5 crockpot, the Chinese produced gadget of the moment or a designer top made by slave labor in safety conscious Bangladesh factories? How else can you explain a population willing to be molested by government TSA dregs in the name of security from phantom terrorists, the passive acceptance of military exercises in US cities, unquestioning submissiveness as Presidential Executive Orders allow the government dictatorial powers based on their judgment, the monitoring of internet and voice correspondence of all citizens, and believing that FBI agents luring clueless teenage Muslim dupes into fake terrorist plots, providing the fake explosives, and then announcing with great fanfare how they saved us from another 9/11?

But, the prize for boldest, most outrageous, blatant use of propaganda and misinformation to cover-up their criminal looting of America goes to Ben Bernanke, his cronies at the Federal Reserve, and the Wall Street banks that own and control our Central Bank. Having the gall to portray themselves as the stabilizer of our economic system over the last 100 years is a putrid joke on the dying and broke middle class. Their mandate has been stable prices, full employment, and avoiding financial crisis. It is a tribute to Bernays and the rest of the public relations swine that the average American actually believes inflation is a good thing and it is under control despite the FACT that 96.2% of their purchasing power has disappeared since 1900, with the most rapid decline occurring since Nixon closed the gold window in 1971.

The average American actually believes Ben Bernanke saved us from a Great Depression when in actuality he saved the owners of the Federal Reserve from accepting the losses they generated through the greatest financial fraud in history. His “solutions” have zombified our economic system, just as the Japanese Central Bank did 20 years ago. He has destroyed the concept of saving, while rewarding the indebted and profligate with his QE to Infinity money printing policies. And the ignorant masses have been convinced by the corporate media and their corrupt government lackeys that Ben did this for them. Kyle Bass knows otherwise. He knows how the Fed and their backers have preyed upon the masses through their understanding of human psychology:

“Humans are optimistic by nature. People’s lives are driven by hopes and dreams which are all second derivatives of their innate optimism. Humans also suffer from optimistic biases driven by the first inalienable right of human nature which is self-preservation. It is this reflex mechanism in our cognitive pathways that makes difficult situations hard to reflect and opine on. These biases are extended to economic choices and events. The primary difficulty with this train of thought is the bias that most investors have for the baseline facts: they tend to believe that the central bankers, politicians, and other governmental agencies are omnipotent due to their success in averting a financial meltdown in 2009.

Central banks have become the great enablers of fiscal profligacy. The overarching belief is that there will always be someone or something there to act as the safety net. The safety nets worked so well recently that investors now trust they will be underneath them ad-infinitum. Markets and economists alike now believe that quantitative easing (“QE”) will always “work” by flooding the market with relatively costless capital. Unlimited QE and the zero lower bound (“ZLB”) are likely to bankrupt pension funds whose expected returns happen to be a good 600 basis points (or more) higher than the 10?year “risk-free” rate. The ZLB has many unintended consequences that are impossible to ignore.

Our belief is that markets will eventually take these matters out of the hands of the central bankers. These events will happen with such rapidity that policy makers won’t be able to react fast enough. The fallacy of the belief that countries that print their own currency are immune to sovereign crisis will be disproven in the coming months and years. Trillions of dollars of debts will be restructured and millions of financially prudent savers will lose large percentages of their real purchasing power at exactly the wrong time in their lives. Again, the world will not end, but the social fabric of the profligate nations will be stretched and in some cases torn. Sadly, looking back through economic history, all too often war is the manifestation of simple economic entropy played to its logical conclusion. We believe that war is an inevitable consequence of the current global economic situation.” Kyle Bass

What’s Normal in a Profoundly Abnormal Society?

“The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives, that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does.” They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted.” Aldous Huxley – Brave New World Revisited

No sane person could honestly say that what has happened to our society over the last forty years, and particularly in the last five years, is normal. But somehow those in power have convinced the masses that $1.2 trillion deficits, 0% interest rates, declining real wages, the highest average gas prices in history, pre-emptive wars, policing the world and buying rubber dog shit produced in China with a credit card is normal and beneficial to our economy. It seems that I and a few million other people in this country are the abnormal ones. We choose not to be led to slaughter by our masters. The seekers of truth have turned to the alternative media and are able to connect with like-minded critical thinking individuals on websites like Zero Hedge, Jesse’s Americain Café, Of Two Minds, Mish, Financial Sense, among many other truth seeking blogs. This is dangerous to the powers that be and they are using their political clout and extreme wealth to try and lock down and control free speech on the internet. If this is accomplished all hope at disseminating truth will be lost.

Abraham Lincoln once said that he believed in the people and that if you told them the truth and gave them the cold hard facts they would meet any crisis. That may have been true in 1860, but not today. The cold hard facts are available for all to see:

  • A $16.3 trillion National Debt
  • 47 million people on food stamps
  • Over $222 trillion of unfunded Federal entitlement liabilities
  • Over $5 trillion of unfunded State entitlement liabilities
  • True unemployment above 20%.
  • True inflation above 5%.
  • A stock market at the same level as 1999, with a 10 year expected annual return of less than 4% – Stocks for the really, really long run. 10 year bond returns of 0% will be a miracle.
  • A savings rate of 3.7% and with Bernanke’s ZIRP, no incentive to save. Real hourly earnings continue to fall.

  • Baby Boomers within 10 years of retirement have saved an average of only $78,000, and more than a third of them have less than $25,000. More than half of U.S. workers have no retirement plan at all.
  • A crumbling, decaying infrastructure, with 150,000 structurally deficient bridges, bursting water mains, and an overstressed electrical grid.
  • Horrific government public education producing millions of low functioning morons.
  • Rotting social fabric, with 40% of children born out of wedlock (72% of black children) and a 50% divorce rate.
  • An energy policy based upon unicorns farting rainbows and press releases about green energy and the miracle of shale fracking, as average gas prices in 2012 and 2011 were the highest in U.S. history.

As the pitiful excuses for statesmen in Washington D.C. pander and posture about the dreaded fiscal cliff which was purposely created by the oligarchs as a show for the masses, none of the true issues above are being addressed. The dramatic compromise that will ultimately be reached between the equally corrupt parties will be hailed by the corporate media and Wall Street shysters and an HFT supercomputer engineered stock market rally will ensue. The cowardice of these politicians is revolting. As Huxley knew in 1958, politicians and propagandists prefer nonsense and storylines to truth, knowledge and honesty.

“Human beings act in a great variety of irrational ways, but all of them seem to be capable, if given a fair chance, of making a reasonable choice in the light of available evidence. Democratic institutions can be made to work only if all concerned do their best to impart knowledge and to encourage rationality. But today, in the world’s most powerful democracy, the politicians and the propagandists prefer to make nonsense of democratic procedures by appealing almost exclusively to the ignorance and irrationality of the electors.”Aldous Huxley – Brave New World Revisited

We want to be lied to because the truth is too painful. Hope and denial with a dash of delusion is the recipe the mindless masses prefer. The average person doesn’t want to understand the chart below. They want to believe the U.S. will dominate economically and lead the world for decades to come. We are still the bright shining beacon of democracy on the mountaintop. Even though the facts unequivocally reveal a declining empire, the masses desperately grasp at straws in the wind. The United States share of world GDP will be vastly lower in 2021, as the hubris of declining empires never allows them to take the necessary steps to reverse the decline (Rome, Great Britain).

It is fitting that during this magical Christmas season of fantasy, delusion, debt fueled material over-consumption and fairy tales, we look at the biggest fairy tale of all – the great jobs recovery. I know from the two thousand Obama campaign commercials I was forced to watch in the last few months and 500 robo-calls at dinner every night that we’ve added 4 million jobs due to Obama’s wise economic policies. The magical journey from a 10.3% unemployment rate to a 7.9% rate is a humdinger. I stumbled across a myriad of charts on those truth-telling websites that I had previously mentioned.

“You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you mad.” Aldous Huxley

The first chart that grabbed my attention shows the historical relationship between the U3 unemployment rate reported to the masses versus the U6 truer picture of unemployment, along with the percentage of people unemployed for longer than 15 weeks. A funny thing happened shortly after the election of Barack Obama. From 1994 through 2008 the gap between the U3 and U6 rates consistently ranged between 3% and 4%. Suddenly, the gap surged to 7% and currently sits at almost 8%. The figure reported to the masses of 7.9% is so much easier to digest than the 15% to 17% that captures the truer level of unemployment. If the gap between these two figures had remained at the levels of the previous 14 years, the unemployment that should be reported to the masses would be 11%. That is unacceptable to those in power, so the data is massaged and the propaganda machine spins the storyline necessary to confuse and mislead the masses.

The next two charts from Mike Shedlock again reveal truths the existing social order doesn’t want you to know. Even though the working age population has grown by 10 million people since 2008, the BLS expects critical thinking people to believe the labor force has only grown by 1.3 million people. You see, the unemployment rate is calculated using the labor force. If your economic policies don’t create jobs, just adjust the labor force dramatically lower based on nothing. In desperate economic times, people do not voluntarily leave the workforce. Only a non-thinking drone would believe that 8.7 million Americans voluntarily left the workforce since 2008, when only 4 million left the workforce from 2003 through 2007. It is not a coincidence that student loan debt, which was taken over by the Obama administration in 2009 rose by $300 billion. Those in power have doled out these billions with no concern for credit risk or academic credentials in order to reduce the number of people in the labor force. Unemployed union Twinkie workers seeking a new career in lesbian studies can get a $20,000 loan from the American taxpayer to sit in their basement along with the 500,000 other University of Phoenix enrollees. The future $300 billion taxpayer bailout was worth it to keep the unemployment rate low enough to insure Obama’s re-election.

The Obama PR machine never fails to expound upon the fact that the economy added 4.9 million jobs since January 2009. In the same timeframe, uncovered employment rose by 6.6 million. Inquiring minds might want to know what an “uncovered” job entails. Selling your accumulated Chinese crap on Ebay is an uncovered job. Calling yourself a consultant while sleeping until noon is an uncovered job. Day trading Facebook and Apple stock is an uncovered job. Trash picking is an uncovered job. The truth is that real jobs are 1.7 million lower than they were at the depths of the recession, while bullshit jobs paying virtually nothing and offering no benefits have surged by 6.6 million. These facts don’t make a great campaign commercial. The number of employed Americans is at the same level as mid-2005, even though the working age population has grown by 18 million. Since 2008 there are 3 million less full-time jobs and 3 more part-time jobs. This trend is accelerating as small businesses react rationally to the oncoming Obamacare train, resulting in aggregate work hours declining and wage growth stagnating.

Zero Hedge reveals more truth about our glorious jobs recovery with the following two charts. They obliterate the false narrative spun by liberal ideologues that the reason for the increase of those not in the labor force is due to Baby Boomers retiring. The truth is that while those in the 55-69 age brackets have gained nearly 4 million jobs under President Obama, everyone else has lost just over 2.5 million jobs. Is this a positive development or a sign of extreme desperation among older Americans who have seen their interest income vaporized by Ben Bernanke and there food, energy, and healthcare expenses skyrocket?

Those in their prime earning years of 25 to 54 still have a net cumulative loss of 2.2 million jobs since 2009. Recent college graduates, with their billions of student loan debt, have nabbed 400,000 TGI Fridays jobs, singing happy birthday to 3 year olds, with their newly minted college degrees. This is the “normal” healthy jobs market sold to the American public by the propagandists and politicians.

The final jobs chart that portrays the truth of what has been a decades’ long spiral downward paints a picture of a country that once created wealth through producing goods from the 1940s through 1970. Since 1970 we’ve degenerated into a debt creating country that consumes foreign produced goods and makes entitlement promises it can never keep. Selling houses to each other, peddling crap on Ebay, and eating out three times a week has shockingly failed to propel our economy. The jobs picture has deteriorated rapidly since 2008 and is not improving, despite the best propaganda money can buy. There is absolutely no chance of any substantive improvement over the next four years based on the policies in place and refusal to acknowledge the economic realities that we face.

The accumulation of material possessions through the use of consumer debt, peddled by bankers and reinforced through relentless corporate marketing propaganda has left the country’s citizens weary, miserable, greedy, indebted and sick. Our obsession with technology has merely provided another means of distracting ourselves from confronting the dire challenges that must be addressed. We can ignore the facts but that doesn’t mean they do not exist. The abnormality that grips this nation is breathtaking to behold, as the status quo cheer on and encourage consumers to buy more things with money they don’t have in order to support an economic recovery that is dependent upon zero interest rates for Wall Street banks, QE to infinity, and the delusional desire for a miraculous return to the good old days when getting something for nothing was possible. We can no longer deny reality. If we want to add 30 million people to Medicaid, it must be paid for. If we want to wage never ending wars and police the world, it must be paid for. If we want a Federal government to spend $3.8 trillion per year, it must be paid for. Nothing is free in this world, but more than 50% of Americans seem to believe that to be true.

“Our economy is based on spending billions to persuade people that happiness is buying things, and then insisting that the only way to have a viable economy is to make things for people to buy so they’ll have jobs and get enough money to buy things.” Philip Elliot Slater

We are seen by those in control as nothing more than common house flies caught in their web of lies. Your owners don’t care about you. They only care about their own wealth and power. They want to control and manipulate you. They want to keep you enslaved in debt and running on the treadmill of consumption. They want passive, non-critical thinking drones to do the menial service jobs that remain in this country, while they use their control of our financial, political, tax, and legal systems to ransack and pillage the wealth of the dwindling middle class. The truth is the continuation of our current economic system is mathematically impossible. Your owners know this. This is why the use of propaganda, misinformation, fake data, and false storylines has taken on astronomical proportions. The time for passivity and accepting the deceitfulness of our leaders is coming to an end. While you’re waiting in line this Christmas season at Wal-Mart to purchase a fabulously priced shirt that only required the deaths of 112 Bangladesh slave laborers, try to figure out how we got here. Your owners think they have you by the balls.

“They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want; they want more for themselves and less for everybody else. But I’ll tell you what they don’t want—they don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interest. You know something, they don’t want people that are smart enough to sit around their kitchen table and figure out how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. Because the owners of this country know the truth, it’s called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.” George Carlin

How many Americans are awake enough to handle the truth?

All I want for Christmas is the truth.

  1. I put off putting up my Christmas lights and buying our Christmas tree this weekend so I could write this damn article.

    That’s the truth.

    Bah Humbug

  2. 50 trillion in state unfunded entitlement liabilities? I had no idea state liabilities were that high. Where did you get that figure from?

  3. Truth is a hard pill to swallow, especially when one faces the lies seemingly generated in their very own psyche; The greatest of these lies is that somehow there is a path of ease and that one has it all figured out.

It is the latter that is easily amplified and influenced en mass daily in the media…. which only the most daring and brave dare to stare down.

In all actuality, truth itself reveals things we don’t even want to acknowledge and without it we can never grasp even the finer of things that accompany truth…. Sound familiar?

    Almost like WORK.

Another one knocked out of the park, Administrator.

  4. Well said, admin. Very powerful and confrontational. TPTB would love to kick the truth-tellers off the internet, yourself included.

As it is. they are diluting you out anyway….but articles like this one stick in the craw of guys like Timmy G. and Bennie B. Of that I have no doubt.

I have always said I’d fight and die here, but if you and those other folks you mentioned are silenced, I’m going to be looking for the exit.

  5. YOU AREN’T KIDDING. I am noticing the same thing. How easily everyone swallows the all the misinformation just blows my mind. Just today I’m seeing an article (nbc news) where official idiots are claiming we’ve been spoiled as a ‘low tax country’ for decades. The sad thing is, the BS is swallowed so easily, that only needed to be said once, and now everyone is going to believe we’re so fortunate to be such a ‘low tax country’. We should do our duty, and pay more taxes, while feeling good about it. It’s like the new “low cal” Snickers bar. You pay the same for less candy bar, all while feeling good about the fact Snickers is looking out for your health! The con jobs just never end.

It is truly obvious most people hate the truth, and exactly the reason that it flourishes so well. We are getting what we want (as a whole), and when the SHTF, we’re getting what we deserve.

  6. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him: “If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)

Jesus said to him: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

There is no Christmas. There is only the Truth. Read the Bible! Get the wisdom to understand the signs of the times, your friend, your foe, your salvation, and the greatness of the things to come.

  7. We all demand the truth, unless it hurts, then we scream back to drown out the truth we thought we wanted.

Sam Harris wrote a book a couple years ago on lying. His contention – if I remember correctly – is that by allowing, and participating, in the little “white” lies, we are condoning and growing the great big ones.

It makes a lot of sense. Many business guys I know, think that since there are connected contractors that cheat, the government cheats, the CONgressmen cheat, then it is somehow morally justifiable to cheat themselves.

As do millions sucking food stamps and welfare and disability. They don’t report working family members, they under report income, they work off the books. Hey, if Tim Geithner is good enough to both cheat, get caught, and still get a government gig, what’s a $125 a month in food stamps?

A society that has evolved to bring the biggest rewards to its cheaters and liars, is an environment where not cheating and not lying will quickly result in your own demise.

    The rot feeds itself.

Thanks for working on this while I managed to haul out all the symbolism of the insanity we call the “joys of the season.” I feel like scum for propagating this crap for my daughter. Hope when times are bleaker she can look back with joy, not hate and envy. But, now is not my choice, I’m just trying hard not to add (again) to the gdamn divorce rates and broken homes. It, sometimes, ain’t easy though and I wonder if darling daughter is actually better off.

Anyway, once again, phenomenal. Simply phenomenal job admin.

  8. People love negative emotions. Lies create scandal and thus negative emotions. Our society is in a feeding frenzy of negative emotions and love it. Scandal is the name of the game… and all it brings.

To people who live in their sense consciousness TRUTH IS BORING. Lies make the sensuous world go round. This is truth people can believe. Am I wrong?

  9. What I have been having a hard time tracking for a while is the nod to the past when we speak of manipulation of the media and the growth of stupidity in the world and yet the same people who learned from the masters have suddenly forgotten how it all turns out in the end.
They are not going to get to keep their stuff.
Non of the masters of deception got out alive. Most were killed by the ignorant masses when it came crashing down. I guess like any Ponzi scheme you need to get in at the beginning. To bad so sad this is the end part.
Also going to designate Mondays as MFM from now on. I get to work in a good mood then I break for lunch and read JQ’s Blog. Now it’s just motherfuckin this and motherfuckin that………

  10. The Nazi analogies to our present circumstances are quite valid in, imho. I was wondering if you were familiar with the brave truth-telling of the artist John Heartfield, who did the great photmontages that showed Hitler for exactly what he was. Long before photoshop, too. If I weren’t such a computer illiterate, I’d share one of his images. If you’ve never seen them, you should check him out.

  11. admin …+10
Hey look everybody Jersey Shore isbeing replaced by Hill people going buckwild….great googley moogley…not having to think has never been so easy.

HILL PEOPLE: MTV replaces ‘JERSEY SHORE’ with West Virginia’s ‘BUCKWILD’…[/img

Everything is going to be A-OK …just tune in and go back to sleep.

  12. I mentioned the other day that comparing data from the 1960’s USA with data from the USA of today has a problem in that the two populations are different. In 1960, e.g. Los Angeles was the ‘whitest’ large city in America. Today whites are a minority in LA. Detroit in 1960 was still over 70% white. Today only 10%.

It is accurately said that a nation is nothing more than the sum of its citizens talents, skills and knowledge. If you moved the people of Switzerland to Haiti you would soon have a tropical paradise. If you move the people of Haiti to Switzerland you would soon find an Alpine hell. There is nothing magical about the soil and water of any country. A Honduran peasant moving to Los Angeles is not going to transform himself into a Hollywood screen writer or member of the engineering faculty at UCLA. People are not fungible.

This is not just about race. Culture is also very important too. A economic truism is that if you subsidize something more of it is produced. This is true not just about goods but behavior also. If you subsidize illegitimate births you will get more of them especially if you destroy the long held social conventions that guided young men and women in matter of sex. This destruction of middle class mores and removing the economic penalties for child bearing ( at least for low income people) has caused a dysgenic effect across all races. The dull and stupid breed without regard to the cost while those who must bear the full cost of raising their own children ( as well as pay taxes to raise the children of others) must put off and limit the number of children they have. Let’s face it a 20 year old high school dropout with an IQ of 88 mating with a 16 year old girl with an IQ of 88 is unlikely to produce a child who will be able to enter much less graduate from a decent university no matter how much public money is expended on trying to compensate for the circumstances of such a child’s birth and upbringing.

When you cut your society off at the knees by importing low quality people and subsidize the breeding habits of your native born underclass it is going to be difficult to stand tall as a nation no matter how good your intentions or how generous your social spending is.

  13. Great job putting it all togerther Jim! The numbers are only going one way – down. Meanwhile, the public education system is much worse than I feared. Teachers are struggling to grade their own papers, and apparently, most sixth graders can’t divide by 2 or multiply by ten. The federal public “education” system has achieved its goal. Embrace the doom, most won’t even see it coming.

  14. Great article, especially the “you can’t handle the truth” rant. I’m convinced most people don’t care. As long as they can eat as much as they want and watch T.V., they will continue to do so (until they explode). The one’s that do care are so pissed that they are almost incapable of action, for fear of what they might do. I stand convinced that a leader will appear, who will tap into this anger and direct it where it deserves: Washington, Wall Street, state capitals, unions, the corruption and moral rot of the FSA. We need a leader willing to tell the truth, but, more importantly, take action, direct the action, and make the changes needed. The angry people know the truth when they hear it, and are now angry enough to take action, all they need is leader and to light the fuse.

That said, the only thing I keep coming back to, as a explanation of how things are so fucked up, such utter lies and bullshit, is that 47% of the population is getting money from the government. They were willing to re-elect an imbecile to keep getting that money, and I’m convinced they will do anything to keep getting free money from the government. Add in government employees, and fully half the population are parasites. Half.

And so, you have two sides: the angry people, and the freeloader POS government money grabbers. Only one side can win, and the parasites will never be victorious. But, as you so adeptly point out, the 47% are being paid for their compliance by the 1% and the criminal politicians, paid to stay in line and never question anything, and they won’t, and what’s worse, they would probably kill to keep getting free money.

The only answer is civil war, or the collapse of the economy, the only two things that will solve the present problem. I’m convinced a collapse will happen soon enough. Bernake himself admitted that the Fed “has no tools left” to deal with problems the politicians have created. It will collapse on itself, but collapse it will. Those with no skills or work ethic will loot, steal and murder to continue their never ending free money and stuff; so prepare accordingly.

When the criminals in Washington don’t like the truth, the simply lie or change and manipulate data. Another chart (from ZH, of course), the government continues to revise “normal weight” higher and higher until there will be no obesity problem. Inflation is a great tool for criminals.

Remember when after the Fukushima explosion, in order to avoid panic Japan doubled the maximum dose of “safe” daily radiation allowed, and then raised it some more? This is kinda like that, but instead of Gamma rays you have Twinkies..

  15. Apathy in America & How Politicians Exploit it

Ancient Rome had its ‘bread and circuses’ to keep its citizens at bay. America has ‘reality shows’ as its opiate for the masses.

Polls and studies indicate Americans are an apathetic lot, especially when it comes to politics. Politicians know and rely on this to push anti-citizen laws and policy agendas.

This is why we’re so easily controlled and manipulated.

Are you the next guest at ‘Camp Fed’ or some local jail cell?

The United States has more unethical laws on the books than any other country. As a result, the average person breaks more than 22 laws each week.

It’s stunning when you think about it. The “land of the free” is home to the world’s largest prison population. Americans constitute 5% of the world’s population, yet one-quarter of the entire world’s inmates are in the U.S. The ratio of the prison population to the general population is higher in than any other nation in the world. Russia is second. China is third.

We have more than 145 million laws on the books all designed to control virtually every aspect of our daily life…MOST people do not care. They’re too pre-occupied with the meaningful things such as mundane TV programs like American Idol and Survivor.

Once upon a time in the North American country known as the United States of America, there lived a nation of citizens that showed tremendous interest in the state of their country’s well-being. With incredible zeal, these citizens worked tirelessly to correct any local, national or international issue that threatened them either as individuals or collectively, showing no fear and great resolve while addressing any elected or appointed public official that didn’t accurately represent the beliefs, ethics, morals and values as expected by their constituents.

Engineered apathetic response is obviously the goal of a government seeking to disengage its constituents, and is designed to lull us citizens into a state of false security. Electronic media, the entertainment industry, professional sports, video gaming, and casino gambling are just a few diversions that serve not only to provide a means of physical and mental escape from the stressors we face as a nation, but also to create an illusion that “life is good,” “things are normal” and that “all is well”. More so now than ever before, Americans per capita are spending more of their dwindling financial resources on the aforementioned activities and in the mean time, the world around them continues to crumble at close to free-fall speed.

  16. Admin – unbelievably great job – AGAIN! – and I’ve only finished the first few paragraphs.

“Acknowledging the truth of our society’s descent from a country of hard working, self-reliant, charitable, civic minded citizens into the abyss of entitled, dependent, greedy, materialistic consumers is unacceptable to the slave owners and the slaves.”

Yes, and we really are slaves and we really are working hard. We don’t live on the slave owners’ lands and we’re not picking cotton any more. In order to have a roof over our heads, we’re borrowing from the slave owners and paying them back with interest, and we’re picking out what to buy from the slave owners’ shelves. That’s the new crop. Just a different kind of slavery.

  17. Outstanding article Admin! I only wish more people would wake up to the truth. Turn of Dancing with the stars, and dig into the unmanaged alternative media. Get a real education in what TPTB are doing to us!
    Keep up the awesome work!

  18. Nothing goes Hidden under the Sun. Evil will continue to go more rampant it has to Fulfill its course Before Jesus comes back To Rid it once and for ALL and cast the Devil and his dominions into Hell Forever in the Burning lake of fire along with Everyone who pacticed Evil in this lifetime God bless.

  19. Anyone get the irony of concluding a rant about materialism and consumer delusion with a Christmas ad for Amazon?

    I crack myself up.

    Ho Ho Ho

  20. It was amazing to watch Obama lie in the State of the Union through almost every campaign speech up until the election that he planned to “pay down our debt” with savings from ending wars. Of course his actual FY2013 budget proposes increasing the national debt by over $900 billion each year for the next ten years. Yet the liberal local paper here *never* printed anything questioning his claims. See for links to the budget table and an amusing video mashup of his lie with a cartoon, and comments on why the debt matters. If a CEO lied about his companies finances to get people to buy stock, the public would cry “fraud!” and want him thrown in jail, yet Obama was re-elected..

  21. All I want for Christmas is the debt ceiling to be raised to infinity.

The collapse is coming; Happy Holidays!

Total US Debt Hits $16,369,548,799,604.93; Debt Ceiling Just $63 Billion Away
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/03/2012

Furthermore, once Thursday’s Bill auction adds another $26 billion in net debt, the ceiling will be a tiny $40 billion off, or just one week’s worth of net debt issuance away, which is why the Treasury just warned the debt ceiling will be breached in a few weeks. At that point, just like in August 2011, the Treasury will have no choice but to start raiding the G-fund, and other sundry government retirement funds, until such time in February or latest March, when the debt ceiling debate, and hike, can be no longer postponed.

  22. Your unemployment graphs seem to show a disparity – or maybe my eyesight is getting worse.

    I see ages 25 to 54 and then 54 to 49?

is that supposed to be 55 to 59?

I think those age groups need to be adjusted. They could be changed to – 25 to 39, 40 to 55 and then 55 and upwards.

A good number of 40 year olds are being fired and cannot find new jobs despite their experience.

The “You cant handle the truth” rant was wonderful.

  23. Wow, thank you for taking the time to put all this info together. Just yesterday I was lamenting on the quandary we find ourselves in. You have so excellently addressed my heartache, So glad to see there are others similarly distressed. My father was a coal miner, in a day when men fought with there lives to establish better working conditions. The men I work with now, bow to the boss and stab fellow workers in the back. Trying to understand what has happened. No one seems to stand on principles anymore or have any moral backbone. Truth is no longer of any significance to many. Yet I cling to it and follow hard after it, but as you say, it is mind numbing to try to figure out what is really going on. We are being played from both sides with lots of smoke and mirrors. I believe the light will pierce the darkness eventually, and in the end, those standing on truth will still be standing.

  24. ‘Anyone get the irony of concluding a rant about materialism and consumer delusion with a Christmas ad for Amazon?”

Ii was too busy thinking about the great lengths you willing to go to just to avoid putting up the Christmans lights. I admire a man who can invent a great excuse for not doing something he hates but knows he must do to avoid being on his wife’s shit list.

    1. Eddie

I will surely pay the price. It was 55 degrees yesterday – perfect for stringing lights.

You bet your ass it will be 25 degrees this weekend when I’ll have to do my duty.

  25. Well, I think if no one lied at all, we’d believe that no one ever lied and be that much easier to fool Hitler was saying that people could believe the big lie, because they thought that people only told small ones. In other words, the big lie exceeds people’s expectations for the lengths that people are willing to go to. By being familiar with “white lies” such as “No that dress doesn’t make you look fat honey.” we are at least familiar with the idea that people are prone to deceive.

In either case, I think things are too far gone to be fixed. Crash and collapse are inevitable at this point. Resistance and raging against the machine are exercises in futility because stupidity and willful blindness have reached critical mass. The best thing to do at this point is to exploit the system, gather your resources (human and financial) and get far enough away to wait out the Zombie Apocalypse that will follow. Once all of the stupid people kill each other over the food on the shelves (witness Black Friday crowds) and starve to death when that runs out, the intelligent critical thinkers can move back in and start over again.

  26. Hmmm….so thats what this is about, getting out of Christmas light duty? I am pretty sure I did the outside lights last year because you were also inside writing an article. Starting to see a trend….. 🙂

  27. I normally do not comment but chose to this instance due to the entertainment value it offered me.

The Administrator is ignorant (ignorant = semi-intelligent but not having relevant information vs. stupid = not having the capacity to learn, regardless of the amount of information provided).

Here is my evidence for calling the Administrator ignorant.
    1. The Administrator asks for “truth” when, except for one concept (which I’ll shortly paraphrase), there has been no consensus on what the “truth” means. Review for yourself and see if you can discern what “truth” is. The one concept that everyone I have encountered in my life seems to agree on is that the “truth” is ‘That which is universally understood by all’.

    2. If you agree that the truth is universally understood by all, it would need no explanation. Therefore, I ask why the Administrator is lazily asking someone else to provide this information? The Administrator should do his/her/its own work and find it for itself (it is universal and understood by all).

    3. There is no requirement for anyone to tell anyone else the truth. If you feel you are owed the truth, please provide evidence showing everyone else where you determined you were owed this information – after all, it should be universal and there for everyone else to obtain.

    4. The “truth” when used in the wrong moment has been known to end one’s life. People that value their life have been known not to tell the truth when their life has depended on it. Lies are a useful evolutionary survival mechanism. Liars do not like truth tellers and will quickly band together to eliminate “truth tellers”. Everyone that was genetically predisposed to always telling the truth was wiped out a long time ago… Maybe (I have yet to encounter someone that always tells the truth; including myself).

    5. The Administrator includes all kinds of charts and data as if it were true. But again, if it were true, he/she/it would not need to use charts because we would all agree on it and there would not be a need to convince us of its truth. I don’t know about you, but when I look at the Administrators charts and data, it makes me feel like he/she/it is telling me lies… Am I supposed to take it at face value knowing that there are liars in the world? How can I verify the information is true (there are no sources provided)? How do you feel about the provided charts & data?

    6. The Administrator does not provide his/her/its name as evidence that it is interested in the truth so that we could directly follow up with him/her/it and hides behind a title/function (a.k.a. “Administrator”). I suppose that he/she/it has learned the same lesson that most people have. If you don’t know what lesson I’m referring to, please see numbers 3 and 4 above.

I could go on but I think that is enough evidence for now.

As for the Administrators Christmas wish, I hope that the following helps fulfill your gift request and that it is universally understood by all (if not, remember – unless you have evidence to the contrary, I’m not required to tell you the truth).

Religion has taught the faithful that they are “commanded”, “tasked”, “charged” by their creator. They have decided that they are not in control and have given themselves to something greater, through faith and believe that we are all connected through God, Allah, YHVH, Buddha, Gitche Manitou, etc.

Science shows us that matter is made of molecules that are positively, neutrally, and negatively charged. These molecules vibrate at certain frequencies depending on their molecular mass and temperature. My body has a certain mass and temperature and its molecules vibrate. When I inhale/consume/drink, I take in gases, food and fluids that sustain my body. My body then charges these molecules, raising/lowering their temperature and does its best to either accept or convert them to my current vibration/resonance. I then exhale/defecate/urinate/shed skin, releasing the molecules for some other being to inhale/consume/drink and to repeat the process all over. I am connected to you and every other being through this process and extends beyond this planet as the Earths volcanoes and human satellites eject matter into outer-space while asteroids and meteorites enter the Earth.

My hypothesis is that by changing my attitude and mind, I can change my molecular resonance which changes how I breathe, what I consume, what I drink, changes what I say and write. This also helps me avoid disease (i.e. dis-ease, out of ease/harmony/balance). Sharing my breath/food/drink/ideas/resonance allows others (when they receive them through the life process), to decide if they wish to tune themselves to my frequency or if they wish to discard or change the resonance to match their own. Either way, we are all deeply loved, there is nothing to fear, and we can do no wrong.

I hope this is universally true to all; whether through science or religion, we are all connected. Everything else is up to interpretation.

    Merry early Christmas Administrator.

  28. 2b’s, CONGRATS, YOU WIN DUMBASS OF THE WEEK!!!! Too much garbage in there for me to break down, apparently, you can’t handle the truth anyway.

  29. 2 b:

You seem to have angered the locals here at TBP. I would suggest laying low for while until the dust settles.

    Best regards,

    John A

  30. Admin – nice body of work. Massive amount of work.

I believe that what you are saying is true. However, I also think it is important to point out that there are things external to the US that are having dramatic effects, and will continue to do so.

For instance, you point out the dramatic fall in the US’s percent of world GDP. The US has approx. 5% of the world’s popuation, and had over 30% of its GDP in 2001 (by the way, the GDP at that point in time is, by memory, one of the all time high percentages owing to tech boom, etc.), and now has dropped to around 20% of world GDP. There is simply no way that the US can continue to dominate the world economy as it has done for the last many decades. The collapse is happening fast, owing to the issues you discuss, but slow or fast it is going to happen.

A country with 5% of the population simply cannot continue to contribute 30% of the world’s GDP. As other nations educate themselves, and as tech becomes available world-wide, that gap will close. The poorer naions are extremely price competetive, and will draw investment away from the US, and will compete on price.

I suspect that the best the US can do in the longer term will be around 12% – 15% of world GDP, and that percentage would only be made possible because there are a lot of countries (Africa/N Korea/S America) that will be unable to catch up. Asian nations by and large will make huge strides in the coming years with respect to GDP, however. And they are going to be world-beaters with respect to tech and engineering. Combine all of the competetive advantages they currently have with the current weaknesses the US has, and it will be bleak times in the US, especially for the middle class.

As a nation, the US has a couple of advantages that will be enormous going forward. These advantages will help the country overall, but may well do little for jobs and the middle class.

The biggest advantage the US has is its ability to produce food – it is enormously endowed with arable land. food will be the next oil, in my opinion. Food will become gruesomely expensive world-wide. And the US can generate food unlike any other nation on earth.

Second, the US has, relatively speaking, a lot of resources. Coal comes to mind (fuck the greentards – when push comes to shove, the coal will be burnt). It will help keep the wolf away when times get tougher.

Forget manufacturing – those days are over. Cost pressure, and ever increasing tech will see its demise (even moreso than has already happened).

I suspect one answer will be to get the FSA working the land with hoes and shovels like in the old days – it will be necessary for them to work, and it will be one of the few productive things they will be able to do, as there will at least be a market for their produce.

Again, Admin, thanks for the huge effort.

  31. Admin – I know it is unlike you to so do, but would you please consider deleting that bullshit post by 2 b? It is a turd on an otherwise great thread.

  32. And having just read his other piece of shit post, even banning that cocksucker may be something to consider. I do not generally give a shit about idiots – they are for ass-kicking – and so provide some fun. That prick is simply here to stink up the site. Stupid fuckhead.

  33. (shakes head)

2b must be a doppel. I can’t believe someone would show up here with a moniker like that and proceed to make that their first comment.

    Should change name from 2 b___s to 3 b___s.

  34. It looks like 2 balls in his mouth forgot to take his lithium today. We haven’t had a dumbass of his stature on the site since that mongoloid nutjob David Pierre. Maybe 2 balls in his mouth is David Pierre’s 1st cousin, brother and uncle.

    Imbreeding is horrible to witness.

Back to the barn 2 balls. Those sheep aren’t going to fuck themselves.

  35. >>Abraham Lincoln once said that he believed in the people and that if you told them the truth and gave them the cold hard facts they would meet any crisis. That may have been true in 1860, but not today.<<

This quote was highlighted at Zero Hedge. Abraham Lincoln never said it. It's from Douglas MacArthur in April 1944.

If you have any questions about quotations, just ask me!

  36. “However, I provided six specific points of evidence and so far no one has refuted or contested my points by providing any evidence to the contrary” ——— 2 b___s are made for licking

Group 1: Sometimes, it makes sense to debate with an OP.

Group 2: Sometimes, it does not.

You fall in Group 2. You’re just not worth the effort. Now … run along. Troll.

  37. “Admin – I know it is unlike you to so do, but would you please consider deleting that bullshit post by 2 b? It is a turd on an otherwise great thread.” ——– llpoh

llpoh, we both know Admin is loathe to do this type of thing. He is Kind and Benevolent (PBUH) even towards dickfaced assholes.

Nevertheless, as a fellow Big Dog, I second your motion.

    Do it, Admin. Do it!

  38. >>Wrong Barry <<

BrainyQuote is often wrong. No one should ever rely on it. I provide actual historical citations, but BrainyQuote never does.

    BrainyQuote is wrong here.

I am a contributor to the Yale Book of Quotations, the Oxford English Dictionary, the Dictionary of American Regional English, the Historical DIctionary of American Slang, and many others.

t this same quote wrong earlier this year.

  39. Admin, Thanks for another great post. As I get older I am getting lazier, and being able to stop by
your site occasionally to get brought up to date on many, if not most, of the significant issues affecting mine and, I expect, every other resident of the USA’s lives makes life much simpler. I pay attention to very few sources anymore. I wandered the wilderness for too long and to often ended up following the wrong wisdom providers home. I believe you provide a valuable service to your audience. Please keep up the good work. There is an awful lot of noise out there. Thanks to you I no longer have to depend upon it for the sake of my personal edification and clarity.

  40. “t this same quote wrong earlier this year” should be “Sarah Palin got this same quote wrong earlier this year.”

Besides this bogus Lincoln, it’s a very fine post and I agree with your points. We’re doomed.

  41. One time poster – why not post regularly? The more the merrier – and we always welcome newcomers with open arms and kindness.

    Really – keep posting.

  42. Stuck – for fuck sake, you need to lay off the beer. 1300 words about lying. Sheesh. I guess your point is everyone lies.

  43. Admin doesn’t need to delete the post, it get hidden after a certain number of thumbs down auto by wordpress.

Made Stucky introspective. Is there a full moon or something?

Let’s see, Admin’s had more than 16,000 reads on Zero Hedge alone, the schizophrenic ball licker had at least 10 (thumbs down). Ball brain, all I gotta say is….

Let’s see, Admin’s had more than 16,000 reads on Zero Hedge alone, the schizophrenic ball licker had at least 10 (thumbs down).

get back on your meds before you have another psychotic break

  44. Stucky hit a homerun with his comment on lying and the futility of expecting honesty. Deceit is the norm in nature and man.

  45. “Stuck – for fuck sake, you need to lay off the beer. 1300 words about lying. Sheesh. I guess your point is everyone lies.” —————- llpoh

LMFAO … also lol at the cartoon. It’s not just about “everyone”, implying only humans — it’s about ALL of nature. I just wanted to provide context, rather than a mere assertion.

My interest in “lying” stems from my Catholic School days.

First, the penguins (nuns) LITERALLY washed out my mouth with soap when I was caught lying. WTF?? Other times they would smack my knuckles with a ruler. Hurt like hell. Again … WTF??

Second, there was the Confessional Booth stuff. We’re supposed to go in there and confess our sins. Now lemme ask yeew …. how many fucking sins is possible for a seven year old kid watched like a hawk by the nuns and my mamma?? That’s right, none. So I made shit up. I lied about lying. And God never caught me. This was confusing to me.

Third, there was all this shit about what was a sin, and what wasn’t. One day eating meat on Fridays sends my scrawny ass to hell. The next day, it’s OK. This shit, also, was confusing.

Fourth, there was the time Sister Mary Helen made me pull my pants down (seriously) to paddle me. I KNOW she was looking longingly at my even then massive Schwantz, but this nun, who was “married to Jesus” fuckin lied it. Most confusing.

There ya go … why the topic of “lying” fascinates me. Another 263 words. Hope you’re fuckin happy.

  46. Novista

I had never seen anything by him until I saw an exhibition of his work at the Tate. I was blown away. I particularly like the one where the banker has the Hitler puppet. It seems so apppros for today. Thank you for posting that.

Do you think it makes a difference if a lie doesn’t really hurt anybody, except posisibly the liar him/herself as personal integrity has been weakened? I might lie about not really minding helping someone when actually I feel put out but know I shouldn’t, for example. We all lie sometimes to try to cover our butt like Eve did.

Admin is addressing a type of lying much farther along the continuum of evil. To deliberately lie to one or multitudes in order to fulfill one’s twisted need for power or material gain, knowing that your victims will be hurt and diminished is another thing I think.

One stupid thing I did in my life was marry somebody who was a pathological liar although red flags were waving like crazy. It was a constant challenge to try to figure out what reality was. You know, kind of like being a relatively aware American in the early 21st century. I wish it was as easy to solve as getting a divorce.

  48. Lying is destructive behavior, and more so to the one doing it than the ones getting lied to, generally. Lies eat away at you from the inside.

Confession, real honest well-intended confession, is good for the soul. I don’t care whether your a Catholic or a Confucian.

Lying to oneself is certainly commonplace, but that doesn’t make it a good idea.

The words of that great American, Bill Wilson, come to mind:

“Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty. Their chances are less than average. There are those, too, who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest.”

  49. We need to distinguish what type of lies we are talking about. Fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual. Then there is the 9th commandment which says not to lie about other people. Beyond that, most others are less damaging. Sadly, the powers that be tend to engage in fraud to a great extent. I’m leaving our religious morals, or whether any lies at all are psychologically damaging intentionally, because opinions are going to vary widely. But let’s face it; no one is going to advocate the two listed above as being okay.

  50. Gayle,

I was trying to come up with some kind of appreciative response to Stuck’s comments when (while during a break) I ran across your yours.

Your double dog down example of rating a lie by foreseeing it’s detrimental effects {to others} ignores the essance of the word lie.

A lie always originates from within, regardless of outside cirumstances.

Sure, some lies are more harmless than others, but who’s the judge. Where is the line?

I know one thing… lies are like poison, a little bit here, a little there and pretty soon it’s all so easy.

  51. Administrator,

You are getting the TRUTH from your government. Quit complaining.

    Accept what Geo. Orwell observed,
“The TRUTH is what [our leaders decide] best serves the interest of the community.”

  52. Theres so many lies, its hard to hear the truth.
The Bankers,Wallstreet,The Fed,Lobbyist,The military and congress. And so many more. Were screwed.

  53. “Do you think it makes a difference if a lie doesn’t really hurt anybody,” —- Gayle

Fine question! My response will anger some: Sometimes lying is beneficial, necessary, and the RIGHT thing to do.

Think of the countless examples in nature where deception is part and parcel of survival.

OK, screw nature. We’re people! Well, imagine the chaos in a world similar to the movie “Liar Liar”, where Jim Carrey simply could not tell a lie. (A crappy movie overall … but, the premise was wonderful.) Chaos!!! All I’m saying is, I do not buy into the “never lie” meme.

Of course, the difficulty with your question, is that the person doing the lying has NO IDEA whether his/her lie will hurt the person …. immediately, the near future, or the distant future. (I’m talking about non-trivial instances of lying … not, something common and mundane like; ‘Oh, that’s a pretty dress’, when you think it’s ugly.) Interestingly, the same goes for telling the Truth. Let me give one personal example that actually covers both instances.

I had nuns (plural) that lied about my educational abilities during my first three years or so of schooling. I simply did not understand even a single word of English when I started 1st grade. I didn’t know jack-shit when first grade ended. But they lied to me — well, to my parents — told them what a smart and good kid I was … and promptly promoted me to 2nd grade. And that cycle repeated that year. What good did that do? By the time I could comprehend what was going on, I was very very far behind.

Then, the same situation reversed itself. In the same school — different nuns — they decided to tell the truth … as they saw it. One nun told my mother in front of me that I just wasn’t very smart … and that I was holding the whole class back … and maybe I needed to go to public school for “special” education. Ouch! That “truth” stuck with me for the next eight years, through high school graduation, that I just wasn’t smart enough in life. It’s no small miracle that I recovered at all, given the magnitude of such truth-telling.

It’s a fine line we humans walk knowing which is the better option; telling the truth or telling a fib. I tend to dislike on principle the idea of “situational ethics” but, as you can see, sometimes that’s all we have. Maybe that’s the real reason Jeebus said, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.”

  54. Anonymous pulls up to the thread, tin-foil helmet firmly fastened to his soft head….

^^^^^^Anonymous getting the truth out there.^^^^^^

  55. Hi Gayle, I think that people sometimes don’t understand things at a very sophisticated level. Are you saying that fraud and “bearing false witness against your neighbor?” Why didn’t God just say “Thou shalt not lie”? That would have covered it all. Do you really think they are the same morally as telling your wife her outfit looks fine if it doesn’t? Or how about if someone’s baby looks cute when it looks like Don Rickles?

How about when God told Samuel the prophet to engage in outright deception?

    To wit:
“Fill your horn with oil, and go: I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided myself a king among his sons.”

And Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.” But the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; you shall anoint for Me the one I name you.” 1 Samuel, 16:1-3

Doesn’t this count as a “lie of omission?” or at least a pretense?

I’m just quoting and asking, so don’t kill the messenger.

  56. Hors didn’t bring down the twin towers but shits did.

And I say it’s horseshit not to give a shit about who the shit shit on our country and all of us.

Most of you shits are being shitfed by shits thinking, believing, and knowing you don’t know a shit.

So you shit-for-brains, get your shit together, figure this shit out, and get the shit going instead of swallowing the shit the MSM shitheads fed you and you believe.

  57. Anonymous has it all figured out….

    In a van….

Anonymous Calling “Horse Shit”…. with stickers.

    Lots of stickers.

  58. “Judge not, lest ye be judged.”

Judging has nothing to do with the truth, especially in the realm of a courtroom.

That is to say that any judgement may or may not be based on the truth. All judgments are subjective by definition.

And then there is Judgement Day. The one we all fear. Standing before God, or Jesus, or St.Peter, or whomever is on duty that day we get the ultimate thumbs up or thumbs down. If it’s up then we are vindicated in ALL prior actions. But if it is down…. well thats when things get nasty. Not that it will help much.

  59. First word I learned to spell – insubordination. Some days pre-school was such a bitch!

Checking in to see what you’ve been up to. Sight’s wicked rockin’ now, Dude. VENT!!!

    Take care.

  60. Wow AWD, you surely pissed off a few with your charts of reality. I know you don’t care for me, but for some reason I want you to know (and I don’t know why, but f*it) that I agreed with your posts BECAUSE THEY ARE REALITY and gave you thumbs up. You apparently have really pissed people off when statistics based on reality garner you downs. The truth hurts, which is why we inherently avoid it.

Stuck, you amaze me. No lie. Big smiles here, nicely done.

Gayle, have you managed to get out? How horrible was it? I, too, married a pathological liar, but for me, all I can say is a broken heart and copious amounts of alcohol absolutely, positively, don’t lead to good decision making mind sets. But it is my bed, I’m trying to keep laying in it.

  61. The Fair Tax program is the best solution for what ails the budget and I have contacted my 3 representatives and I use the term loosely, these days since I haven’t felt represented in many years, with this information. They all know about the Fair Tax which would solve all things monetary for government but it would remove the Federal thumb from the backs of all taxpayers.

  62. Stucky, Ivan and Rabbit

I think there are certain small lies that act as social lubricants. Emotionally healthy people can tell them and hold on to their integrity. For example, if I am feeling down in the dumps and encounter an acquaintance who asks “How are you?” I would probably lie and say “I’m good” because I want to spare the person from having my misery spilled all over her. If you’re eating a meal at a friend’s house and you think his wife’s salad tastes like shit and she offers you more, you will say “No thanks, I just can’t eat anymore,” assuming she will thnk you are full, which is in fact a lie.

If I lie to feed my pride, to gain power, to get something I’m not entitled to, to hurt someone else, then evil is being manifested. It is a mystery why so many refuse to acknowledge this type of deception that is occurring on such a massive scale. So many really don’t want the truth. The one guy who always told the truth? He got crucified.

  63. Teresa – if I had known AWD was ever giving you grief I would have kicked shit out of him for it. Just because. You are not always on my side, but close enough for us to be buds forever.

    AWD – repent or else.

  64. Stucky, I loved your post. I had a fifth grade teacher who took a shine to me and one of my friends. He invited both of us to attend a Billy Graham revival with him in Portland. We sat in the stands during Graham’s long and boring sermon, then at the end he invited people to come down where he would personally remove all of their sins (It didn’t occur to me at the time where he obtained this power, but I didn’t really think about it). My friend dared me to go and I took up the challenge, lest I look like a pussy.. I’m not sure how many sins I had accumulated at the age of 11, but I did get a fresh start.

  65. “Fine question! My response will anger some: Sometimes lying is beneficial, necessary, and the RIGHT thing to do.”-Stucky

  66. Eddie

I was not familiar with his work so I thank you for the heads up. A quick google and I found one that was worthy of contributing, there would have been more with time and bandwidth. 🙂

  67. If you’re a truth seeker, don’t stop until you find the truth about xmas. What it represents, where it originated and what the bible says about it.

Learn not the ways of the heathen (unbelievers). Jeremiah 10

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
God sums it up in verse 16:
The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.

    The PORTION means the remnant.

Repent and forsake the foolishness of xmas idolatry.

I pray you will grow in the faith and understanding of the Messiah Yahshua.

  68. This was a great Tuesday morning read, buddy. Thanks for taking the time to write all of this out. I felt like this sentence really hammered your point home:

“Selling houses to each other, peddling crap on Ebay, and eating out three times a week has shockingly failed to propel our economy.”

Indeed, our country has become so far removed from what it actually takes to have a strong economy and riches, that our young people actually think it’s valid to try to destroy wall street instead of Pennsylvania avenue, who is putting us in this position. Yes, certain societal ills had to be corrected such as the civil rights movement and womens’ rights, but we’ve taken it to the point where we actually believe one group of people has the right to be supported by another group of people.

We’ve also failed to promote a local economy that produces things that other countries want to buy (except movies, television shows, etc), through the enormously high wages in the country.

I don’t have all the answers, I just want to say thanks for stating some of the problems in such a clear way.

  69. A small (but related) diversion ONLY in case you’re bored, having nothing to comment on, etc …..

I posted this logic puzzle about truth/lies a long time ago. Many of you will be familiar with this or similar scenarios, either from my post or otherwise. You folks are NOT allowed to play. Lol But, for the rest; here goes.

    =========================== =

1)- You die and are transported to the afterlife Waiting Station.

2)- Two Trolls each guard a gate.

3)- One Troll always tells the truth. The sign above his gate says; “Enter Hell”.

4)- One Troll always lies. “The sign above his gate says; “Enter Heaven”.

5)- Both are accurate in their knowledge, fully knowing what is true and false.

You are allowed just ONE question to EITHER troll. It must be a “yes” or “no” question.

What question assures you go to Heaven (or, Hell, if that’s your preference)

Extra Credit: Are lie detector machines effective against schizophrenics?

  70. ” I know you don’t care for me, but for some reason I want you to know (and I don’t know why, but f*it) that I agreed with your posts”

Where in God’s name did you get that idea? I think you’re great, and your comments are excellent. If people don’t like the truth, fuck ’em. Thumbs down are a badge of honor for regular posters (not the trolls), means you hit your mark, you pissed somebody off, the truth hurts. So sorry (not really).

  71. I’m going to skip the logic trap…but I’ll make a guess about the lie detector.

I’d say it depends…if the schizoid type is delusional, and he does truly believe what he is saying, then he will pass with flying colors. But, if he is lying aobut something that he is not delusional about…like what he just had for lunch…then he will fail.

  72. I’m guessing you go to hell either way. Or, why would you need to ask the troll any questions? The entrances are clearly marked.

Admin finally got his Christmas lights put up

Him and his neighbor don’t get along so well

  73. Thumbs down are a badge of honor for regular posters” —– AWD

Amen, and Amen!!!! Thumbs Down USED to piss me off. I guess I needed validation. People called me a Thumb Whore. I now welcome them enthusiastically. Generating buzz … positive or negative … is what it’s about …. (probably STILL a form of ‘validation’ though , lol). Worst possible scenario? Spilling your guts out, and no one gives a shit one way or another.

Regarding the clearly labeled signs — you still don’t know which Troll is truthful or lying. In fact, both signs could say the same thing … both could say “Enter Heaven”, or “Enter Hell”. What then? Again, you still don’t know which Troll is the liar/truth teller. Therefore, you may reasonably deduct that the signs are irrelevant … a mere diversion … and you would be correct.

  74. I think getting no thumbs (up or down) is the worst thing. Means the comment didn’t even rate a single mouse click. Dead air, dead weight.

  75. ” ….. if the schizoid type is delusional, and he does truly believe what he is saying, then he will pass with flying colors. But, if he is lying about something that he is not delusional about…like what he just had for lunch…then he will fail.” ———- Eddie

That’s the George Costanza rule —- “Jerry, it’s not a lie if you BELIEVE it.” lol

Yes, he would likely pass. But that’s not the primary question. It’s not about the schizo. It’s about the person interpreting the schizo’s answer. Can the interpreter rely on the machine to determine the truthfulness of the schizo’s answer? My fault for not being more clear.

For example, let’s say the question to the schizo is; “Are you a banana?” According to the Costanza rule, the schizo really does believe he’s a banana, so he passes with flying colors. But since he’s obviously not a banana, the lie detector is worthless.

Another example. I have a book titled “The man who thought he was a hat” …. a fun layman’s book about the mysteries of the ‘abnormal’ mind …. where doctors gave a schizophrenic patient a lie detector test. One of the questions they asked him was, “Are you Napoleon?” He replied, “No.” This is obviously the truth …. yet he machine showed that he was lying. Again, the lie detector is worthless.

BTW … there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answer … it’s just a thought-puzzle.

  76. AWD

I probably vote on 80% of all posts. I vote 100% of the time on long posts. I’m with you … I feel the person taking the time and effort to post their thoughts deserves the RESPECT of a thumb vote, regardless of which direction.

I always vote Up on large breast pics …. even if they’re the fatties you so love. My philosophy is quite simple; big tis are big tits and they all are lovely. That is not a lie.

  77. Wonderful article again Admin. There are many of us out here that depend very much on your articles and insights. Excellent job of collecting so many facts and putting them together for this great article. I do know that nothing ever changes until the crisis occurs and that is when the masses will wake up.

On another note, After constant reminding and needling by my very persistent wife, I hung the damn Christmas Lights and she is still not satisfied. WTF? “Women, you can never please themLight Hangin

  78. Teresa – I knew AWD would come to his senses the moment I threatened to kick the crap out of him.

Seriously, you make too much sense overall for AWD to not like you. Don’t let all this praise go to your head. We often fight most viciously with those we love. Keep your guard up at all times.

  79. Jim, this is probably the best review of the current situation I’ve seen on the web. I’ve seen much of this before, here & there, but not altogether, and you are a master at putting it all on the table in a concise, understandable format. I’m going to send this to everyone I know. Some of them will read it and some will not; that is there prerogative. Those that have eyes to see and ears to hear will heed it. Too many Americans are asleep to the truth of what is being done to them. Thanks for waking (some of) us up! I just hope it does not take another Civil War to gain our freedoms back… I’m one of the Baby Boomers who has been living below his means and saving money in a 401k & IRA since 1983 … now I am 57 and nearing retirement when I will needs those funds, but I’m reading that the current regime may soon seize those funds “for the poor” and leave us with worthless Treasury Notes earning nothing. They will take it from the “ants” and give it to the “grasshoppers”. If you have any comments on how to prevent that from happening, please let us know. Thanks for all your hard work, Jim.

  80. You make some good points but failed to connect the dots in one of your topics. There are native born American Muslim (you could insert any religion here) citizens who have and could become radicalized here for many of the reasons you just ranted about. And, the more our society deteriorates, the more prevalent it will become. There’s no need for anyone to be fabricating that story. And if the bank did blow up? What would you have written instead? They lied about keeping us safe from another 9/11? Wake up – if you think that is not happening in the US, then you have your head up your ass.

  81. God, ” surely you will die! ”
Satan, ” surely you will not die.”
    Enter LIE # 1
    Mankind…..” I’m going to heaven…I’m going to nirvana……I will come back as an animal…..I’ll get 72 virgins… 18997 other religions…whatever ”
What is it if not a lie and if it is a lie how can any lie benefit even 1 human being? IT CAN’T…It doesn’t…It never will.. IT RUINED EVERYTHING. Keep doing it because nothing lasts forever.
and that includes you and me.

  82. Jim,
Your articles and data are spot on. It is clear that America has deteriorated to the point that the future appears to be hopeless. Before going forward, let me give my definition of America. America is currently the union of 50 SOVEREIGN states who believe that there is a benefit to being united into one cohesive grouping, for defense and currency purposes. The founding fathers decided to create an agent, the Federal government, to serve America in carrying out a very limited set of mandates. The powers given to the Federal government (very limited) and those retained by the states and the people (the vast majority over and above those few given to the Federal government) were outlined in a guiding document called the Constitution. To a layman who reads the Constitution, it is fairly clear as to the limits put on the Federal government. To a layman who takes the time to read the Federalist and anti-Federalist papers, any vague points in the Constitution become pretty clear. To the Constitutional lawyers, and apparently most Supreme court judges who have not taken the time to read the Constitution, much less study its creation, the document is vague and open to massive abuse. The abuses have occurred as the Federal government has continually usurped the sovereign right of the states thru un-Constitutional actions. Of course, as you point out, much of this has been perpetrated by the power elites who want to crush the American way and roll the nation into a “New World Order” including tests of Americans to see just how far they can be pushed by installing an illegal alien(an Indonesian citizen) into the White House although, in reality only about 28% of all ELIGIBLE American voters (half of the 57% who voted) actually voted for Obama, hardly a mandate).

All of this seems to point to a hopeless future for concerned American patriots who have watched the decline and rot of the nation that we were born into and grew up loving. The key is to remember that government only exists at the pleasure of the citizens. When government no longer serves the citizens, it is their natural right to change or abolish it. We all know that Washington, D.C. has become hopelessly corrupt and inept and that it will NEVER reform itself. Reform must be forced on it from the outside.

I see only two viable ways to reform Washington, D.C. First, and my preference, would be for the states to use the power that they gave themselves in the Constitution to call a Constitutional Convention. They would then have the power to modify the Constitution to reword any parts that have allowed the Federal government to expand its powers far in excess of those granted to it by the founding fathers and to put it back into its very small box. This would obviously not be popular with those in Washington, D.C. or with the elites who use Washington, D.C. to advance their cause. A clause in the amendment providing for capital punishment for ANYONE who interfered in the process would probably be necessary to minimize Federal involvement. This is a dangerous, but possibly the only viable political route because it opens the possibility for a complete rewrite of the Constitution to the disadvantage of Americans unless the process is closely controlled. It is the dream of an optimist. Of course, state representatives are unlikely to start this process unless citizens pressure them thru direct contacts and referendum movements in each of the states.

The second, least preferable alternative, is for that typical 3-5% of the population to rise up and put the millions of weapons and billions of rounds of ammunition that they have been purchasing annually into use making forcible change. If the sheeples continue to sleep, it may be time for the adults who have been paying attention to step up to the plate and make the difficult choices that the bought-and-sold in Washington, D.C. refuse to make. I am disgusted by the mass consumerism that exists in America, except when it comes to purchasing large amounts of weapons and equipment to prepare for this worst contingency. It is an ugly choice but one that the founding fathers predicted that we may have to use once again to restore the Republic. In the end, the mass of sheeples will continue to accept their lot in life, but with great sacrifice on the part of the few patriots, the nation might gain a new lease on life.

  83. You mentioned the $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities, or whatever the actual number is. Therefore, I’m a bit surprised you devote a lot of ink to the $1.3 trillion cash deficit of the federal govt. When you take into account unpaid interest on the unfunded liabilities, off balance sheet stuff, etc., the actual (GAAP) ANNUAL budget deficit is $6 trillion.

$6 trillion is almost 40% of GDP!!! Obviously, this even less sustainable than a cash deficit of $1.3 trillion. That which cannot be sustained, fails. The only question is, ‘what is the trigger’? I would guess one more year of drought will do the trick. Over the last hundred years, at least, the really bad droughts usually last two (or more) years, and it is starting to look like the drought of 2012 will be an exception. See

As world food prices vault higher and higher, food importing countries will have no choice but to adopt currency strengthening measures to prevent mass starvation. Food exporting nations, like the USA, will be powerless to halt the rapid decline in the buying power of their currencies.

  84. History seems to be repeating itself. The Vatican control Europe in the past during the Dark Ages. The Vatican was instrumental in the funding and development of the Nazi and the Ustashi during the World War 2 Era and now in 2011 the Papacy calls for a new economic world order or NWO. Students of prophecy for years now have been warning that this system seeks a totalitarian form of government yet few understand the implications of such proclamation for world government by a power that historically has been known to go against the Bible and seek to force false religious worship on the masses of people. This is a brief video showing this to be a very prophetic and historic event.
I know most will not watch this video, because please try and watch it for its historical value. Like the old adage says: Those who forget their past, are doomed to repeat it! >

The Vatican called on Monday for sweeping reforms of the world economy and the creation of a ethical, global authority to regulate financial markets as demonstrations against corporate greed continued to spring up in major cities across the globe> Vatican calls for global authority on economy, raps “idolatry of the market”.
The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a “global public authority” and a “central world bank” to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises.

  85. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on November 16 that CONGRESS SHOULD STOP PLACING LEGAL LIMITS ON THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THE GOVERNMENT CAN BORROW AND EFFECTIVELY LIFT THE DEBT LIMIT TO INFINITY! In August 2011, President Barack Obama and Congress agreed to lift the legal debt limit by another $2.4 trillion–allowing the government to borrow up to $16.394 trillion. However, as of the close of business on November 15, the Treasury had only $154.3 billion of that $2.4 trillion in new borrowing authority left.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said a few days later that the Senate stands ready to increase the debt limit by another $2.4 trillion: “If it has to be raised, we’ll raise it,” › News

I have to admit, I was shocked. Not that Congress will probably vote again to raise the debt limit but that our Treasury Secretary could candidly say that he believes that Congress should never put a lid on government spending, ever! This proposal is really a simple acknowledgment of reality: that the American government simply will not, and does not expect, to get its out-of-control spending under control.

Suppose Norma wants a second car. And she wants to surprise me. She quietly calls Visa and asks them to raise the credit limit—and when they discover that we are never late on monthly payments, they tell her that, from that day forward, there will be no limit on our Visa! Now that is exciting! And so she buys the second car to make it easier for both of us. Until, until, until the monthly statement arrives and our bank calls us that we need more cash immediately to cover the automatic payment plan. Where does that new supply of money come from?

For Timothy Geithner, he goes back to the USA taxpayer and foreign purchasers of USA bonds. But the door is finally beginning to close.

As we write, seven economies in Asia — including South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand – are tracking the renminbi more closely than they do the U.S. dollar. Why? They are abandoning the U.S. dollar and pegging their currency to the Chinese Yuan, now known as renminbi! It’s apparent to all that the renminbi will soon have (at least) a co-equal status with the dollar as the global “reserve currency.”

Fact One: The most basic forms of human behavior in markets is the desire to flee from falling assets (Western paper currencies) and gravitate toward what is rising in value (in relative terms) — the renminbi.

Fact Two: As this herd behavior steadily builds, a stampede is inevitable.

Fact Three: Yet, what is rarely, if ever, discussed in the mainstream media are the enormous economic repercussions of a world suddenly awash in a massive glut of surplus dollars. The consequence of excessive supply is always a fall in price.

Fact Four: The world’s nations have openly declared they are all competitively engaged in currency manipulation as denoted by the euphemistic term “competitive devaluation.”

Through destroying the value of one’s own currency, the wages of workers in real dollars are driven steadily toward zero, and so (supposedly) this will allow a nation to undercut its trading partners and export more goods. Looks great on TV–more exports, etc. Economy is improving!! Fool’s gold!

Fact Five: The collapse in value of our paper currencies is accomplished through our morally/intellectually bankrupt central banks flooding the world with this (unbacked) paper. In other words, the entire global economy is already drowning in an ocean of these paper currencies. It is thus little surprise that these same central banks are now swapping their own paper for gold at the fastest rate on record.

Fact Six: According to the latest report by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, or SWIFT, renminbi-denominated trade accounted for 10 percent of China’s total foreign trade in July. The figure was zero just two years ago. From July 1 to Aug. 31, global payments in the renminbi rose 15.6%, according to Swift as payment in other currencies fell 0.9% on the average.

Fact Seven: Exponentially increasing U.S. Deficits are requiring exponentially increasing money-printing as all this new dollar-denominated debt is issued. This alone must result in hyperinflation, the only question being when.

Fact Eight: The switch from the dollar to the renminbi by all the nations now holding dollars must result sooner or later in a panic flight out of the dollar and also anything else the U.S. Is trying to sell. Result: Hyperinflation.

Fact Nine: With this economic trend now carved in stone, Americans should be able to rely upon the Federal Reserve — the statutory “guardian” of the U.S. Dollar — to shrewdly limit the global supply of dollars in order to delay the complete/final collapse of the dollar as long as possible. Wrong!

Fact Ten: As Red Alert readers already know, the Federal Reserve recently announced a gratuitous, “open-ended”, additional money-printing program of approximately $500 billion per year. This massive infusion of yet more dollars into the global economy is all dedicated to buying up the worst financial mess ever from the balance sheets of the Wall Street money barons.–so they can look good! Amazing!

Fact Eleven: What is so important about all this unparalleled development is it involves the whole world (not like the Weimar Republic in 1933 or Argentina in 1989, that printed oceans of money to cover massive budget deficits in their own countries), because today, the United States is following those same paths rather than make the painful adjustments to less spending—and the end of it all is pathetically foreseeable.

Fact Twelve: Any way one cuts it, the Bible predicts an end-time when the nations of the world “are of one mind. . . . the words of God are fulfilled” (Revelation 17:13, 17). Nothing unites nations more securely than common solutions to currency exchange—the geopolitics regarding the costs of and availability of basic raw materials is the stuff that causes great wars!

“There are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are not able to solve the problem of moral corruption, poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis. If men would give more heed to the teaching of God’s word, they would find a solution of the problems that perplex them.”

  86. I was watching Charlie Chaplin’s speech from ‘The Great Dictator’ on YouTube. I finally caught the real meaning of the speech, that has transcended through the ages, no matter what humans do, think or where we live. Quote from ‘The Great Dictator’ by Chaplin: Greed has poisoned men’s souls.
All I can add to this great article is the following. 1) Thank the creators of the internet, so the average Jane and Joe have access to their lies. 2) Buy silver (and gold) bullion, a small safe and a gun. Keep some cash at home. 3) Never, ever believe anything Washington releases to the press, nor their bull crap “figures”. 4) Think for yourself. Otherwise you have to believe what other people tell you.
    – Thomas Gray 5) I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. – Thomas Jefferson. (Amen, brother, amen.)

  87. It’s been about 12 hours since I posted at 1:12 that I like large fat breasts.

A WIDE open door for AWD to post something gross.

    Nada. Nothing. Zippo.

    Very disappointing.

  88. “America is currently the union of 50 SOVEREIGN states ..” —— Stormtrooper

Put down the crack pipe. That may have been the original intent. The actual reality is different.

Your option 2 — revolution — is the likely outcome.

    An excellent post. Thumbs up.

  89. Ok, wait a minute,…not sure I’m getting this….so are you saying you know a place where I can get a crockpot for five bucks?

  90. I am so TIRED of talk show hosts and journalists decrying how horrible everything is and sitting and listening to people “get it out of their system,” as if that solves anything! All the time while they are PROFITING just as the oligarchs they disparage. Yes, this article was enlightening. Yes, this article is truthful. SO WHAT?? What do you propose we DO about it? Actions speak louder than words and I am tired of sitting around and hearing this day after day. I get it – the public is dumb. I also get that I have heard NOTHING NEW from you people since Rush Limbaugh started his show over 20 years ago. Gee, we have socialism? Really??? You’ve made a nice career out of that, haven’t you? Until you start suggesting SOLUTIONS, I am done reading and listening…

    1. Marty

I invite you to go fuck yourself. Don’t take a shit on a site that his been proposing solutions for three years and think we give a shit about your worthless piece of shit point of view.

“you people” – Your pea brain actually thinks this is a Rush Limbaugh site. I love to see the 75 level IQ of liberal douchebags like yourself in action. Do you get a tingle up your leg every time Obama speaks?

Let’s hear your fucking solutions, you fucking douchebag.

I’ve made a nice career kicking the asses of idiots like yourself. I’m finished debating clueless nitwits.

  91. “Actions speak louder than words AND I AM TIRED OF SITTING AROUND and hearing this day after day ….. What do you propose we do about it?” ——– Marty

And, yet …. yet ….. Marty is SITTING AROUND, reading blogs, typing, and bitching about the very thing he himself is doing, which is, sitting around and picking his ass (probably in momma’s basement).

Marty, who slams Admin (PBUH) for not proposing anything to “DO!” …. does the very same thing and proposes to “do”………..nothing.

Say what you will, but that’s some funny shit right there.

What I, Stucky the Magnificent, picture Marty “doing” this very moment.

  92. Thanks. You’ve documented and put together in a coherent narrative exactly what I’ve been saying to people since they de-regulated ownership of media.

  93. Damn – Admin is finished debating clueless nitwits. That is have the fun around here – seeing Admin put clueless nitwits tot he sword.

  94. A terrific title, one that could be used against posters all across this site. Let us hope we can all understand that facts-especially with a citation-have merit in the discussion thread and we can argue the merits of the case at hand. After all, the article we respond to is researched with references…

Those who cite opinion, tribal beliefs, prejudice .argue from a very weak position.

  95. Sawgill:

The truth is that the truth has to be downplayed by the people you are supposedly to look to for economic indicators.

When consumption is such a mammoth portion of GDP growth, and the GDP is the holy cow of indicators to which all must bow low, consumer confidence is seen as the key to the great and final word, the Gospel Of Gimme.

It is well known in business, media and even in the halls of academia: Thou shalt not dis.

Consumers must continue consuming, never hoarding, never looking out for number one. From the lowly burger-flipper wearing their favorite sports teams’ jackets, to mullet-clad middle America getting hard-ons for hemis, to the prozac-pickled yuppie at the luxury suv dealer quivering with orgasm as the ink dries on a lease…. They must consume.

If something, even sound advice, gets in the way of the consumer con, the sales will lower. When the sales lower, the investors scowl. When investors scowl, they cash their chips. When they cash their chips, there is less “wealth”. When there is less wealth, ‘merica’s houswives begin to frown and cut off the poontang. When we get no poontang we freak out and get antsy. When we get antsy, we stop spending and this CANNOT HAPPEN or the Holy Cow GDP will shrink and the sky will fall.

Now tell me, Sawgill, what isn’t 100% factual about that?

  96. Stumbled across this site but will make it a regular thing. Fantastic article. My first thought was,” I need to send this to everyone I know!” then I realized that hardly anyone I know would be interested, or have the attention span or vocabulary to understand it. Products of the public school system, you know. And American Idol Apathy has rotted their brains. Good work though. Great to have all the info brought together so coherently. Thanks, I needed that!

  97. Nothing wrong with your comment., CR.. Totally agree with your opening statement. Not sure why you took my original comment personally since it wasn’t directed at you or any one person for that matter.

Just curious, what % of the population do you consider are consumers that fit your description?

Is everybody this defensive and offensive here? Just asking.

Maybe I do need a decoder ring since a lot of what is posted seems to be tribal chants.

  98. I was making sure you weren’t talking to me with your own offensive demeanor, Sawgill.

Yes, you’ve stumbled on a bunch of “tribal” commentators…. “Shit Throwing Monkeys” is the Official term, and even though I don’t agree with many here (this happens more the closer to presidential elections and fades cyclically) I like to make sure that accusations against the STM’s are met with a wad of shit thrown at the unwitting spectator…. and that is YOU.

Not only that, but I am ALWAYS right (in the long run).

I’ll run circles around anyone in any argument, and make them cry…. and the decoder ring Novista was talking about refers to what is needed by lead-brained cretins to translate the verbal thrashing they unknowingly receive when I do so.

Would you like that I should make you cry?

  99. Just curious, what % of the population do you consider are consumers that fit your description?

Approximately the percentage of the population that breaths…. including myself…. to some degree or another, knowingly or unknowingly being a matter of perception.

  100. Thanks for the heads up, CR. it appears that your STM system is akin to the plebe system at the Academy. Been there and done that. Getting hazed and then hazing the plebes gets tiresome after awhile. But then I knew quite a few who really enjoyed it.

Always useful to have good definitions in place for discussion. Is wad of shit the same as bullshit?

  101. You’re welcome, though the only bullshit is your vague opening comment.

Give me some specifics. The cry of “tribalism!” Is kind of tribal…. what, do you think that a little self-conciousness precludes mankind from collectively laughing at a fart joke?

    Cha! Pull my finger!

  102. I define tribal as similar to group-think. No original thinking required, just spout the party line. The Tea Party is a good example. Looks like they are on the wane. Your consumer is a perfect example of a tribe and the description of how consumers are manipulated was hilarious. Always a herd forming somewhere and ‘leaders’ wanting to take over a new flock.

Thinking is very hard work–much easier to just believe and repeat what you are told, eh? Pleased to make your acquaintance, CR.

thanks to Novista for the clue about the decoder thingy. The model I have is multi-functional since it has a shit screen built into the detector. When fully activated it projects a hologram that attracts any crap in the area.

  103. Herds are not the same as tribes, and herd (crowd) behavior is very different than tribal behavior. You seem to be describing crowd behavior. We get into trouble when we give words that already have a well established meaning a new and unique personal definition.

  104. Here is what Americans really think about the D.C. regime. Unfortunately, many of them think that they will be an Army of one when the SHTF which means that they will likely have about a 24-48 hour lifespan without being organized with other patriots into a cohesive force:

Via Mike Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

I have maintained for quite some time that the only true “consumer confidence” statistic one should look at is that of gun sales. The bottom line is people do not hoard guns when they are confident about the future of the country, and gun sales have never been better. More evidence emerged as Smith & Wesson just announced record financial results. From the company’s press released announced after the market close:

Net sales from continuing operations for the second quarter were a record$136.6 million, up 48.0% from the second quarter last year. The increase was led by continued strong sales across all of the company’s firearm product lines, including M&P™ branded products, such as pistols, modern sporting rifles, and the recently launched Shield™ pistol designed for concealed carry and personal protection.

Not only that, but they think the future is equally confident…for gun sales at least.

The company expects net sales from continuing operations for the third quarter of fiscal 2013 to be between$126.0 million and $131.0 million, which would represent year-over-year growth from continuing operations in excess of 30.0%. The company anticipates GAAP earnings per diluted share from continuing operations of between$0.19 and $0.21for the third quarter of fiscal 2013.

  105. told them what a smart and good kid I was -Stucky

I, today, did not know you then, but would, today, think you are a decent person, no matter if you may not have thought it so then, even if the teachers told, as is supposed, a white lie =)

  106. How many Americans are awake enough to handle the truth?
All I want for Christmas is the truth.

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” Mathew 21:22

“And I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” Luke 11:9

I’ve heard it said that the truth hurts: I’m sure of it now. Keep swing the that sword of truth! It may hurt but with each slice another layer of the lies are carved away….hum I feel a new poem coming one ~ Reed.

  108. Hey REED ——— WELCOME TO THE PARTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caution: This is the REAL No Spin Zone. We are crude, rude, smartass shitflingers. We’re smart, too. Do yourself a favor and read some older posts …. to see what awaits you if you fall out of line. To help keep you in line ……

We hate; Congress, Obama, Republicans, Democrats, David Pierre, neocons, Fox and CNN and all other corporate/government owned media shills, endless wars, debt, Unions, Walmart, the entire Free Shit Army especially Laquisha Fried Chicken, Detroit, an area of Philly known as The 30 Blocks of Squalor, Jeebus, Cops especially the Chatham NJ police, and Santa Claus.

We love; Ron Paul and George Carlin and Jim Quinn (Peace Be Upon Him).

Hopefully, you still want to stay.

    1. Stuck

It looks like you ran Eddie off the site and I ran that John Lennon hating cur AWD off the site on the same day.

I wonder if they will just sit in the corner sucking their thumbs or grow a pair and come back for more beatings?

  109. I am getting sick and tired of people leaving over “hurt feelings”.

I think Colma re-posted the oldie but goodie Greatest Generation thread … where I called you a Big Loser and you called me a Moron. I should have left for good that day! lol

Anyway, I like AWD a whole lot. Deep down he is a GOOD person … he makes fun of fatties, then he helps them in in medical practice. lol He’ll be back. He can’t help himself.

Eddie? That’s a name you go by when you’re a kid. Do I go by Nickie? Do you go by Jimmie? Fuck Eddie. When I see “Eddie” all I see in my mind’s eye is Eddie Munster … who, by the way, really really looks like Paul Ryan.

  110. Sometimes a look backward gives us perspective on how we’ve changed and what we’ve become.

It was said of Ulysses Grant, our 18th president, by Hamilton Fish, a wealthy New Yorker and politician, that it would have been impossible for Grant to have told a lie even it had been written down and all he had to do was read it.

Sixty years later FDR had no qualms lying to the American people about his accomplishments, his campaign promises, and his intentions about war.

Fifty years after that it was observed of President Clinton that he lied even when he didn’t have to.

More recently we know that George Bush lied us into the IraK war.

Now the Administrator wants to hear the truth from our politicians. You TBP readers do too and I do as well.

But does the MSM, our country’s opinion maker? At our local, state, and national level the MSM doesn’t seem to give a good God’s damn if government and its acolytes lie or cheat or steal. Agreed?

Why the decline from Grant’s “I cannot tell a lie” to Clinton and Bush’s “I cannot not tell a lie?

Maybe it’s because over the years the outcome has become more important than the process. Or, stated differently, we’ve come to believe that the end justifies the means.

Lie, cheat, and deal – it’s ok if we’ve doing it for the right reasons? Right?

Administrator says no and maybe we all should say “By Jiminy, he’s right.” Then we should take heed and follow Jim’s example. Write your paper and call your congressman. Call them on not calling the liars to account. Then keep the pressure on. If we all make that a goal, it might set a trend. Then Administrator’s quinoidine for America’s miasma might work.

  111. Just discovered this blog and now it’s number one fan. -Reed

    Welcome to the fray, Reed.

We argue, we butt heads, we fight amongst ourselves, and in the end we sit and have a beer, for no man has wisdom, it comes from the space between us.

  112. While I agree with everything you say and commend you for having the balls to say it in a ever encroaching and watching government controlled nation, I would have liked it better if at the end there was NO AD FOR AMAZON !!!
