eddie, i just can’t come up with one coherent idea about this. if someone suggested the social security program be restructured, i’d understand that they found a way to avoid explaining where the money went. big banks going for restructuring now? why didn’t they come up with that idea before they sucked up trillions in bailout monies? the worrisome part is that they believe they’ve run out of time. while we focus on the iceberg, they will be busy boarding the lifeboats.
Breaking up the big banks is a damn fine idea in my book. I’m surprised to hear it come from Fisher, because he’s on the Fed. He’s never been afraid to speak his mind, though, and what he’s suggesting would go a long way to reigning in the TBTF’s …but I don’t think it will come to pass.
