  1. Purpose of the training mission: To make Muckabout & the other FL TBPers shit theirdrawers & shut their yaps on TBP. (Don’t capitulate, guys).

Re the “machine gun fire”-Hard to tell from video watched from home, but the cyclic rate sounded too slow to me. I suggest the sound could have been a product of chopper noise echoing off buildings, but then, I’m not a sonic engineer. Hard for me to see the point in firing actual machine guns here, especially so few “rounds”.

  2. “Can someone please give me a reasonable explanation for this activity?”

Just like previous military exercises in places like Boston and St. Louis, there is no reasonable explanation for this bullshit. It’s inexcusable.

Another example of DHS overreach and overreaction in hiding behind the “national security” mantel. TPTB are clearly worried about urban unrest and are trying to bring active duty armed forces into the fold. Won’t work when TSHTF.

  3. Didn’t you catch it? The military is training for “foreign” urban warfare, you conspiracy nut you.

We live in a minimum security prison, soon to be full lock-down mode.

    Its for the children.

(to keep them from fleeing and taking their social security taxable wages with them)

  4. There is no reasonable explanation. These pictures are worth more than words because they stir the emotions. These pictures show that the government is willing to turn on the people, or why would they be practicing in our cities? Observe the Syrian civil war to get a picture of what will happen to our cities and towns when the people in this country decide to challenge government authority. When the military is unleashed on the cities everyone suffers.

  5. It’s only a drill, until it’s not. What’s it going to take for people to wake up to what’s coming? I’ll bet they even have a date picked out when they will impose martial law. Emperor Obama’s decree finger is getting itchy.

Your AR15 won’t do much against the 50 cal. on the choppers.

Run and hide, run and hide. I’m so glad I don’t live in Miami or any other city.

  6. It’s not machine gun, its Blade-vortex interaction (BVI) noise, google it, shed tip vortices from a blade hit the next blade after it.

  7. So, they say foreign urban environment. Where do you think that could be? Not many places are more urban than Miami. Lots of the middle east and north africa cities lack 30+ story structures. Toronto, maybe?

Also, why not just use a simulator, like we do for planes? It would probably be cheaper to build compared to the fuel and everything else helicopters need.

  8. More conditioning my friends, just more conditioning. Like having to stand in TSA lines at airports.
The more you see it the more you “get used to it”. Well, get used to it because it’s coming; just don’t know how long it’s going to be. Could be in a couple of months if Congress does something stupid like more useless gun control, or it could be just after Nov., 2016 when the next election was supposed to occur.

  9. MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Jorge Brugo was watching a movie in his Ritz Carlton condominium about three o’clock Tuesday morning when war broke out across the way at the abandoned Grand Bay hotel on Bayshore Drive.

“The movie outside was better than the movie I was looking at inside,” Brugo told CBS4′s Gary Nelson.

The “movie” outside was a massive anti-terror training exercise being conducted by U.S. Special Operations forces out of Macdill Air Force Base in Tampa. Members of all branches of the military participated in the operation. The scenario was loud. There was lots of gunfire and building-rattling helicopters and fighter jets.

“Helicopters came down with people, soldiers, coming down ropes and jumping from balcony to balcony,” Brugo said of the scene playing out at the empty Grand Bay, next to the Ritz. “They were throwing, like, fireworks, things that emulated bombs and grenades, and there was a lot of noise.”

Brugo and other residents of nearby buildings in Coconut Grove were not surprised by the surprise attack, they had received notices of the impending war game and were told “not to be alarmed.”

Patti Laird, a Grove resident who lives north of the Grand Bay near Bayshore Drive is among many who received no warning.

“It was terrifying, it was terrifying,” Laird told CBS4′s Nelson.

Laird said helicopters flew over her house at what seemed like rooftop level.

“It definitely shook the house, it was very loud. It shook the trees.”

Laird said she heard gunshots, lots of gunshots and what sounded like a bomb go off.

“There was a loud boom, at least one very loud boom,” She said. “I was very scared. I didn’t know what was happening.”

According to police sources, this is what came down in the mock anti-terror operation: Helicopters dropped Special Operations teams on the Grand Bay to rescue “hostages.” The freed hostages were spirited to nearby Peacock Park where more helicopters delivered them to safety at an undisclosed location.

While the commando raid was going on at the hotel, fighter jets strafed a “terrorist missile site” that had been established at Miami City Hall, across Bayshore Drive.

It all went on for more than an hour.

“I didn’t back to sleep after that. I’m exhausted,” said Laird, who remained awake from 3 a.m. “It’s going to be a long day,” she said, checking inventory at her store, Safer Kids and Homes in Pinecrest.

The military said it gave only short, limited notice of the exercise in order to protect the public safety. A vague release, issued by the Miami police department after 6 p.m. Monday, mentioned only military exercises from May 6th – 8th, but provided no times or even general locations.

“We didn’t want a crowd of spectators to gather,” U.S. Army Major Mike Burns told CBS4′s Gary Nelson. “Someone could have gotten hurt.”

Phones lit up at news organizations and several police agencies with concerned residents wanting to know what was going on.

Miami Police said a similar operation would be conducted in the wee hours Wednesday morning. The Ritz Carlton also notified residents and guests that another exercise would be conducted starting about 1:00 or 1:30 Wednesday morning.

The Army’s Major Burns, however, said there would be no more operations. He said an exercise Wednesday had been penciled in as a back-up in the event the operation Tuesday morning had to be delayed due to weather or other reasons.

    “We’re done,” Burns said.

  10. If they were training for “foreign” urban warfare, they wouldn’t be coordinating the exercise with the local police on the ground. So that explanation is total bull shit.

And that is for sure the sound of gun fire and not chopper noise. Some of the choppers traveling the exact same path don’t make the sound at all.

  11. diligaf, beast rudolfo, and ASIG

Youcanthavemyglock is correct. The “gunfire” sound is from blade tip vortices being hit by the next blade. It isn’t actual gunfire, even from blanks. And please note that we ALL agree that we know what these exercises are really for. That’s the truly important point.

  12. beast rudolfo

    Thanks for the links.

No audio in the first video from Houston, sound barrier pops from the second Miami video. Jesus, it’s NOT that important who’s right here over the “sound of gunfire” issue. What’s important is that these exercises are even taking place in our urban centers in the first place. Damn, we’re all on the same sheet of music here, it’s just a matter of who gets to sing what notes.

  13. is the govt. planning on thinning the Free Shit Army herd? pull the plug on ebt and watch the yannies start rioting. cue the air attack, no reason to get face to face with laquisha and her fatherless offspring.

  14. This is a drill for civilian crowd control when the financial system collapses and people go ape shit fuck’n mad dog crazy after a few days with no access to money / food/ gas. Jacksonville Florida JUST got two brand new armored personell trucks and some HumVee’s – courtesy of DHS. I would wager that some serious shit is about to hit the fan.

  15. When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it. Always.

    Mahatma Gandhi

  16. The army practiced taking over Minneapolis a couple months back. People must really not want to see the truth that is right in front of them everyday. It is amazing how many people are willing to play along, suspend dis-belief and be content as they continue to tell themselves it is all ok.

  17. I see they did this exercise in Houston as well.

Here is a comment from one of the neighbors. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It sounds so Onion.

“The Army did not give any details of what the training is for. Some people we spoke to needed no explanation.

“If it’s to protect our kids, I’m all for it,” neighbor Glenn DeWitt said. ”
