The above chart shows the gold/silver ratio since 1915. Many precious metals experts contend that the ratio will once again be 16:1. It was 16:1 under the US Coinage Act. It is 16:1 in terms of the amount of gold and silver found geologically in the earth’s crust and it was 16:1 in 1980. If the gold silver ratio was 16:1 at the current gold price the price of silver would be about $90/ounce.
