QUOTES OF THE DAY

It should be the highest ambition of every American to extend his views beyond himself, and to bear in mind that his conduct will not only affect himself, his country, and his immediate posterity; but that its influence may be co-extensive with the world, and stamp political happiness or misery on ages yet unborn.

George Washington

Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.

George Washington

Overgrown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.

George Washington

If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.

George Washington

Paper money has had the effect in your state that it will ever have — to ruin commerce, oppress the honest, and open the door to every species of fraud and injustice.

George Washington… the ONE GUY who proves my theory that the absolute BEST Presidents are the guys who don’t want the fucking job in the first place…

Guy was handed complete and total authority over these United States – they wanted to make him King for God’s sake! – and he turned it down.

Congress, etc.: “Here General Washington. Take this Absolute Power and run with it. Go on. We want you to have it.”

General Washington: “Uhhh, no thanks guys. I’m going home.”

If ANYONE deserves his own holiday, it’s Washington. What kind of intestinal fortitude did it take to refuse absolute power? To be handed a Kingship, and then refuse it? To be wise enough to know it would be a devil’s bargain, and strong enough to walk away from it?

I’m not entirely sure I could have done that. In fact, I KNOW I couldn’t have done it…

Judge by what they do, not by what they say. Research The Whiskey Rebellion and see Washington started the Federal centralised control which has metastasized into what we now have.

The Whiskey Rebellion was brief, very few killed, and no one was charged. Washington even apologized personally to those accused.

Nevertheless, it was probably the first Executive Order. It established a PRINCIPLE ….. that federal law is the supreme law of the land, and demonstrated that the federal government is empowered to levy and collect taxes.

It wasn’t George’s best moment. But to say that act “metastasized into what we now have today” seems to be an awfully big stretch. And it certainly doesn’t overshadow all the good GW accomplished.

Stuckey – Did you read my link? Apparently not or you have a reading comprhension problem. Exactly what good did Washington do? The abaondment of the Articles of Confederation into a centralised government metastasized or evolved into what we have today. What we have today is not a recent creation.

Yes, I read your link. It’s spelled “comprehension”. And I don’t have a problem with it. Apparently, you think I have a problem because I don’t agree with you.

“Exactly what good did Washington do?” That’s such an enormously STUPID question that I refuse to take my time to answer it. You have an agenda, clearly. Comprehend that?

There are NO leaders in all of human history who have been PERFECT. Even Jeebus said some stupid shit. But, if you want to throw out the baby with the bathwater, that’s your choice. I refuse to get into a pissing match over one of the greatest men in American history.

Your reply is typical of typical of an ideology of limited intellectual ability to only give general responses or diversions. Your first comment about how I misspelled comprehension has nothing to do with the subject matter but is an attack on my credibility. Credibility will always trump truth or facts. If the facts are against you attack the person.

You evade the question of what good did Washington do. You don’t answer it because you can’t. Yes I have an agenda, to promote individualism and political anarchy over the hubris of buffoons.

Of Washington’s five member cabinet only Thomas Jefferson was a signer of The Declaration of Independence. The signers of the Declaration were greater men than the supporters of of the Federalist Constitution. The Secretary of the Treasury was Alexander Hamilton who promoted central banking and we know how that has worked out.

Suggest you brush up on non Government school History before putting keyboard in motion.

It’s not against the law to be an ass hole but what do you do with someone who abuses the privilege? Once again “fact free” Stuckey reviles his true self as an ignorant uncouth lout incapable of discourse without profanity and vulgarity. Now you know why Marines are referred to as jar heads.

I am sure if I searched Google I could find many things that are not true or have been slanted to present a different picture. ‘Good things’ is subjective and is in the eyes of the beholder. A bloated ego can distort critical thinking.

Imagine how many accolades Google would turn up for Lincoln, the murderer of about 800,000 Americans.

If it’s on the inter webs it must be true.

The Trouble With George Washington

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”

It started in the 60’s with civil rights and women’s rights, political correctness and diversity sensitivity is a form of thought control and censorship of free speech unlike anything this country has ever seen.

You CANNOT speak freely in public, anything critical of minorities, women, gays, or people’s with special rights and entitlements will be harshly dealt with, including losing your job and being ridiculed and branded with titles such as “raciss” or “sexist”. Nobody has freedom of speech anymore, unless you’re a woman, gay or a minority.

We white folk are being led, dumb and silent, to the slaughterhouse, and we go willingly so as not to offend anybody.
