You do not want to live anywhere near large population centers, AKA, war zones.

This situation is confusing, there is conflicting info on who these protesters actually are and why the Ukrainian government feels compelled to use these measures against them.

It seems that the Ukranian people, mainly from Western Ukraine, are mad because the democratically elected President Yanukovych, who is perceived as being too close to the Kremlin, pulled out of a EU sponsored agreement to open up trade/relations with the EU.

Why the Ukrainians want to trade the statism of the Kremlin for that of the EU is not totally clear to me, except that the EU uses a bunch of lawyers and laws to stomp you versus a bullet to the back of the head from the Kremlin boys, but tyranny is tyranny.

(I realize that in the current world paradigm, the concept of “democratically elected legitimacy” equates to “which ever group can stuff the ballot boxes and steal the election”.)

The presidency of Yanukovych has been accused of fraud and corruption and was basically re-elected with votes from Eastern Ukraine, which has more native Russian speakers. So, there is an element of an internal civil war about this as well.

The US, with John “Lurch” Kerry, is coming in on the side of the protesters, similar to how the US came in on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood sponsored protests against Mubarak in Egypt and the Syrian rebels against Assad. Which didn’t work out so well.

That Kerry is all bothered by the Ukrainian police using THE VERY SAME TACTICS on its people that the US fed.gov uses today on its non-protesting citizens speaks volumes on the selective moral outrage and hypocrisy (and stupidity) of Kerry.

I don’t think that hurling Molotov cocktails in an open confrontation with heavily armed police is a good way to open dialogue and looks like a great way to get yourself killed, so perhaps that are some lessons in tactics, if not strategy to be gleaned here. But note the distinct lack of guns among the protesters, thanks to decades of disarmament by the Kremlin of their citizens, ahem.

Regardless, the US should stay OUT of this internal Russian conflict. By backing the protesters, we are opposing Putin and I don’t think Obongo can take too may more slap downs before his presidency, and by extension American prestige and power, collapse entirely on the world stage.

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger.

Let me clarify my last post: I don’t know (and really don’t care) about the political/financial/ethnic tensions in the Urkraine conflict, we will likely never sort it out.

What is more important is the tactical issues surrounding this conflict.

For example, here is some thoughts about how the Ukraine government is using CELL PHONES to track their opposition.

http://guerrillamerica.com/2014/01/implications-of-cell-phones-in-ukrainian-near-civil-war/

“…on Tuesday, sending cellphone messages to people standing in the vicinity of the fighting saying, “Dear subscriber, you are registered as a participant in a mass disturbance.”

WTF?

That is, the CELL PHONE companies must have given out, or the State had a separate cell phone tracking (NSA anyone) of the cell phones of people in the vicinity of the protest, and then sent them a message to disperse.

read the entire article here: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/22/world/europe/ukraine-protests.html?_r=0

Now, to further bake your noodle. You remember Obongo meeting with all the cell phone and tech heads in 2011-12 in a closed meeting? Gee, I wonder if Obongo talked about “cooperating” with the fed.gov and being “good corporate citizens’?

Not hardly, the conversation was more like Obongo saying “Hand over the cell phone records of anybody when we say so and give the feds access to your networks or the full weight of 80 thousand pages in the Federal Register, the IRS, the FCC and DHS will come down on you like a ton of bricks, have a nice day and don’t forget to donate to the DNC”.

The time to believe that “I have done nothing wrong, broken no laws and am engaging in my First Amendment rights of Free Speech so I fear no Evil” is like SOOO OVER.

Big Brother is indeed watching.

First (Well, the USSR actually), Yugoslavia, now Ukraine, Spain is probably next. Europe is coming apart at the seams and will devolve into the historic norm, which is a lot of mini states. The US will likely follow the same path.

You don’t see many protests in non-socialist, non-welfare state countries. No jobs and no future leads to social unrest, except in the USSA…..

Martin Armstrong Slams “The Cost Of Socialism” – 206 Million Unemployed

A United Nation study has reported that about 206 million people are now unemployed.

This is the cost of socialism taxing the rich so there is no job creation with nearly half of that number amounting to youth under 25 years old. The economy on a global scale is terribly weak. This UN annual report released Monday by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) is shocking and politicians cannot see what they are doing to the future

The future does not look bright at all. The UN is projecting that by 2018 the number of unemployed youth will climb to about 215 million. This type of forecast is simply taking the trend in motion and projecting the same pace forward. There will be an exponential rise after 2015 and this will be a Phase Transition resulting in greater violence and protests all because governments refuse to even consider what their policies have been doing.

To all :Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.Psalm 116:15..When you read the bible you realize God has everything under control. When war does come many of you will be killed or die from disease or starvation. You will certainly lose most of what you own including your house ,land and all the money you thought was yours. You will have no rights , no property ,no money ,no electricity ,no running water ,no food and the only freedom you will have is the freedom to die .Even with all your.plans and preparations this is what is going to happen to most of us and this.includes you HILLBILLY.A better investment for most and hope is eternal life in heaven with the LORD.Prepare accordingly.

Zara, I know in your twisted thinking, the EU will dissolve and the US will devolve into separate states. You hate the West in your arab apologist wet dreams.

Is it possible that you’re right, that reproductive trends will signal political gains? What will you have gained. The Europeans in Europe and the US already own everything of value. Socialism was the dumbest idea the West could have come up with, but they needed to payoff the serfs while they continued robbing. Some may see them as unintended consequences. I tend to view it as a conspiracy.

Whether your demographics play out, is unknown. What you’re fighting for, however, may be similar to the song, “One tin soldier rides away”, or it may be a pile of rubbish. Either way, I see you want control. Interesting.

If you’re going to protest, you don’t want to be this guy. Reminds me a awful lot like Nazis stripping down the Jews before they threw them into the ovens. And notice all the nice contusions and lacerations on his body, courtesy of the copthugs.
