This is Grace Anna Rodgers, 3 years old. She was born with Conradi-Hunermann syndrome, a rare form of dwarfism. She will likely be deaf with severely impaired lung function.

She doesn’t know that so she just goes on singing.

Rampart: Railing on the side of a ship/boat. Keeps you from falling overboard.

A rampart is also a defensive wall, like that built around a fort.

“Rampart” is also used to define a section of the Rocky Mountains, as in the Rampart Range in El Paso County, Colorado. Here’s a pic.
