A Good American?

The US(S)A is becoming more and more a fascist/socialist totalitarian police state each day.  There are many who are more responsible than others.  There are also those who proclaim it isn’t their fault because they work hard at their job (check), act kindly to their fellow human (check), provide for their families (check) and pay their taxes (WTF!?!?!?!?!).

Firstly, very few people pay taxes; the vast majority have them taken.  And how in god’s name is paying taxes a good thing or part of being a good American?

Read the remainder HERE.

I call utter bullshit on this.

My vice president said:

“We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people,” Biden said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

“It’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

I wave the flag and proudly pay my taxes, it’s the American way, it’s the only way. We’ve always paid a portion of our wealth in taxes, right?

And don’t look now but the prez is proposing more “change” for personal retirement accounts. Get out while you can!

First we allow them the power to take from the rich, then the rest of us….

Very nice Pictorial Article!

“But in the spirit of the Founding Fathers, I’d argue that thinking it is good for a person to pay taxes (so-called fair share or otherwise) feeds the beast and validates the actions they commit with those funds and in turn does make that person a bad American”
————- from the article

A question: Are you saying ALL taxes are bad?

God help me for saying this …….. but some taxes are necessary, imho. A small example; there’s a rim-bending pothole a couple of blocks from out home. Who fixes it? Who pays for the asphalt, the trucks, and the crew? Or, if my home is on fire and I call 9-1-1, who pays for the fire-truck and the fireman’s salary?

Reading in one of my Libertarian books, the fire department was explained thusly.

Stucky lives in a community that decides they want a fire department. You all get together and decide to hire an architect, hire a contractor, decide what the pay will be for a firefighter, decide if they are to receive a pension, decide if they are to receive healthcare and the firefighter will agree to the terms.

All the above costs will come out of your bank account which you will give freely. And in this way Stucky and all the residents of the community are far more involved with what happens to your dollars.

I know today this would never work, but I’m pretty confidant most things we pay for, mail, roads, etc can be done much more efficiently and for less money than what the government provides.

harry , just call the IRS and tell them you are not going to pay taxes anymore. They will say fine, now we are going to take everything you own and then put you in jail for 20 years.THIS IS WHY I PAY TAXES.

I know harry , just trying to make fun of a bad situation.I hate paying taxes but if I don’t they will take everything I own.The IRS made that very clear to me a few years ago when I got behind on paying my taxes. They took my bank accounts and said they would take my house. They made my life a living hell until I got all the taxes paid. They have the POWER TO DESTROY and they will use it.

Yes, that would work in my community. It’s mostly all middle and upper-middle class. We gots the money. But, there are thousands of communities across America not so fortunate.

” … those who want the service would pay and receive services.” ———- harry p.

So what if 51% of my community decides they don’t want a fire department? My house burns to the ground? No, thanks.

So, we would need all these focus groups, or whatever, to decide on firemen, police, road repair, sewer service, education, and on and on? I just don’t see who that would work.

That’s just on the local level. What about on the National level? Certainly we need SOME type of military defense …. not the trillions they waste on bullshit Pax Americana as today …. but something.

Just to be clear …. I FUCKING HATE TAXES …. the whole thing as setup today is a goddamn scam. But, I also realize it can never be reduced to $0.

A while back I read that the Somalian government has no ability to collect taxes. That place is a shithole for lots of reasons. And the inability of the government to raise funds is a guarantee it will remain a shithole.

Maybe the solution is to remove the forced tax collection from business and place the responsibility back onto the taxpayer.

So I pay my employees 100% of their wage and they have to write a check to the government every week. I bet in a couple of weeks or so people would question a bit more about what their money is being spent on.

I laugh when I hear people complain about their taxes and complain the government is spending too much. That train left the station.

Taxes are there to subjugate. Tax and spend liberals became borrow and spend fascists.

The global ponzi scheme doesn’t extend to us mere mortals, that’s why we’re taxed.

I spent my childhood years (1971 to say, 1984) in a small community in rural southern Delaware. A community so small, to this day, it doesn’t have a zip code. They have to go to the next small town over and get their mail.

The center of this small community was the local Fire Dept. All volunteer. It was started in the 60’s by my grandparents and a small group of community leaders. To raise money, they have fried chicken dinners once a month during the summer. It’s been years and years since I’ve been, but the last one I remember had a line out the door and a waiting list for well over an hour.

To my knowledge, they do not receive any taxpayer monies.

“are you arguing that somalia wouldn’t be as much of a shithole if their govt were more proficient at taking more of the people’s money? really?” ———— harry p

Ha! Perhaps I should have tried a different country. Somalia, like most countries in the Dark Continent, will always be a shit-hole.

Nevertheless, I’m thinking along these lines. Suppose a big part of Somalia’s problem is no infrastructure … such as a viable Power Grid … that is absolutely necessary to build an economy. For various reasons — both valid and invalid — no person or community is able to undertake the project. IF only the government can accomplish the task, I believe they should do so. Yes, that means taxation. The alternative … no taxes and no power grid is a worse outcome.

Don’t misunderstand me. I am mostly in agreement with your points.

Two things I still would like to know;

—–1) What about things that are clearly National in scope … such as Defense?

—–2) Are you advocating for $0 “forced” taxes …. that all taxes should be voluntary?

I think that every single tax and spending law should be automatically reviewed and voted on every 20 years or allowed to expire if that review and vote does not take place. Ya think our owners wouyld ever allow that?
