Somehow, I can’t help but think that blessing / curse is coming true for us. That we’re seeing the United States — as we knew it — dissolve before our eyes into it’s next chapter.

Obama ran on a message of “fundamentally changing” this country. He has certainly done that, but the worst changes are still ahead of us. The next 15 years will see strife we can hardly comprehend now. The nation will be unrecognizable when this is done.

And the fact that people desire this, and the consequences of this, over what we have now is the most disappointing thing of all.

So what the fuck’s wrong with a country being ruled by it’s best people with the rest of the folks going about their business? That’s been the history of the United States.

The trouble with the internet is that it gives folks too much information . Now every man wants to be his own news analyst and wants to control his own life. The result is a lack of conformity and too little groupthink.

The best societies have been ruled by a few with the masses standing in awe of and supporting their betters. It’ s not tyranny or a national socialist oligarchy, it’s the way the world should work.
