QUOTES OF THE DAY

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a moneyed aristocracy that has set the Government at defiance. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.  Thomas Jefferson

A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.  Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”  Thomas Jefferson

I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our Constitution. I would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the administration of our government to the genuine principles of its Constitution; I mean an additional article, taking from the federal government the power of borrowing.  Thomas Jefferson

The issue today is the same as it has been throughout all history, whether man shall be allowed to govern himself or be ruled by a small elite.  Thomas Jefferson

Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated.  Thomas Jefferson

the true theory of our Constitution is surely the wisest and best . . . (for) when all government . . . shall be drawn to Washington as the centre of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another, and will become as . . . oppressive as the government from which we separated.  Thomas Jefferson

A wise and frugal government … shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.  Thomas Jefferson

I see,… and with the deepest affliction, the rapid strides with which the federal branch of our government is advancing towards the usurpation of all the rights reserved to the States, and the consolidation in itself of all powers, foreign and domestic; and that, too, by constructions which, if legitimate, leave no limits to their power… It is but too evident that the three ruling branches of [the Federal government] are in combination to strip their colleagues, the State authorities, of the powers reserved by them, and to exercise themselves all functions foreign and domestic.  Thomas Jefferson

The only greater [evil] than separation… [is] living under a government of discretion.  Thomas Jefferson

In matters of Power, let no more be heard of confidence in men, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.  Thomas Jefferson

If we were directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we would soon want for bread.  Thomas Jefferson

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God?  Thomas Jefferson

The purpose of government is to enable the people of a nation to live in safety and happiness. Government exists for the interests of the governed, not for the governors.  Thomas Jefferson

Showed those to all my students. Didn’t know how accurate they are. Glad someone once showed them to me so I could pass them down.

Lots of other teachers called me a crackpot & stuff when I told them the economy would go over a cliff in 2008. Parents actually said I was teaching radical stuff to the students. It was The Constitution, law, civic duty, separation of church & state, checks & balances.

Most parents, Baby Boomers, never read nor cared about any of it. I told their kids that these people were taking them out to dinner every day, then sticking them with the check. Most aren’t smart enough to know what they’re doing to their kids.

I told a few kids to leave & go overseas or they’d be delivering pizzas or working @ the Gap, if they were lucky. The few that left are doing better. 1 parent said thanks. That was nice.

Taught high school. The kids started to care about their future and get pissed enough to want to go out and fight for liberty.

Most teachers I met were like corporate drones, preparing kids for jobs and a world that no longer exists.

Showed the kids some Ron Paul videos when they asked me who I was voting for, they said there was no way TPTB would let him win. They said he was too smart and honest.

I was always honest with them when they asked my views and they were allowed to voice theirs. I said we’d better before it became illegal and the fascist coup by both parties was entrenched.
