IT’S GETTING REAL NOW

Welcome to the Fourth Turning, where issues built up over decades are resolved. There will be no negotiated agreement. There will be no compromise solutions. There will be winners and losers. Do you think Putin is going to back down or escalate? With a vapid psychopath like Obama running our country, do you think he’ll make the right choices? This isn’t a game of Risk. This is the real thing. Fourth Turnings always escalate.

Ukrainian troops have seized an airfield in the eastern city of Kramatorsk, said anti-government protesters. Four people were killed and two injured, activists added. At the same time Slavyansk is being raided by the Ukrainian military.

Kramatorsk

Ukrainian troops approached the military airfield in armored personnel carriers between the eastern cities of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, the people’s militia located at the airfield told RIA Novosti on the phone.

“They started negotiating with the people’s militia, which is in control of the airfield. The shooting started unexpectedly. There are injured among the people’s militia, and there may be deaths,” they said.

Other members of the militia have blocked the entrance to Kramatorsk and are ready to defend the city, the activists added.

The activists who controlled the base said they were forced to retreat.

However, the city is still under the control of the people’s militia, the activists said.

“We were forced out of the airfield, but the city itself is under our control, we won’t allow [the Ukrainian troops] to enter,” one of the activists told Interfax.

Videos of military jets and helicopters flying over Kramatorsk, as the attack was launched, appeared on YouTube.

The activists who controlled the base said they were forced to retreat.

“There are about 60 units of armored vehicles. They have been preparing for several days, and now they started to storm [the airfield]. The protesters blocked their way, they started shooting, there are wounded. Our people retreated. There are about 15 tanks, the other units are armored personnel vehicles,” another member of the people’s militia told RIA.

Slavyansk

At the same time, the eastern city of Slavyansk is being raided by Ukrainian troops, the head of the Donbass people’s militia, Sergey Tsyplakov, told RIA Novosti.

“Currently there is a major attack on Slavyansk, armored personnel vehicles are entering the city… there are many troops. The men are getting ready to defend [the city],” he said.

In turn, the Ukrainian media, quoting the Ministry of Defense, announced a special operation in Kramatorsk on Tuesday. However, they provided no

Anti-government protesters have been holding rallies in the south-eastern part of the country following the coup in Kiev on February 22. Activists have seized government buildings in most of the cities in the Donetsk region. On Sunday, the Kiev government launched a crackdown operation in Slavyansk. Following the event, Ukraine’s Security Council approved a full-scale security operation in the country’s eastern regions. On Monday, coup-imposed President Aleksandr Turchinov signed a decree to officially begin a “special anti-terrorist operation” in the east of the country.

“There is a lot of military machinery here,” said one of the activists. “But the shooting hasn’t started yet.”

Moscow slammed Sunday’s order as “criminal.” It was issued by the coup-imposed acting President Aleksandr Turchinov, and approved a full-scale security operation in the country’s eastern regions.

Finished watching ‘In the land of blood and honey’ about the early 90’s bosnian war – anyone who’s read (selco?) and now is watching this modern day shit rollout before out eyes, with the imagery from the written words and the movie…..adds another dimension imho. Agree with admin, Vlad has thought this through and he’s thinking several moves ahead of our the savior. Admin, every time you speak of T4T I get chills and the creeps…..I’m a believer and have no clue how this current shit arrives on my doorstep but am sure they know where to send the invite.

“With a vapid psychopath like Obama running our country, do you think he’ll make the right choices?”

I think he’ll make choices that end in our destruction.

If a nuclear bomb exploded in downtown Washington, what should you do?
Have a party? Rejoice in our freedom from fascism and socialism?

April 14, 2014

But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists’ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event.

Well, no. And yes.

No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K streets.

You can always look to movies to figure this stuff out, right? And in movies, since nuclear radiation is BAD, the thing to do is to get away from it as quickly as possible. In the movies, electronics are fried, too, the response is chaotic, and hundreds of thousands of people die.

Interestingly enough, though, the government has done quite a bit of work to figure out what exactly would happen if a suitcase nuke — which, I know, doesn’t really exist, but, for the sake of this example, bear with me — actually did explode a few blocks from the White House.

And curiously, and perhaps hearteningly, it turns out that there is quite a lot that you or I can do if we get stuck in Washington when something like that happens. Choices we make could very well make the difference between our imminent death and a relatively full and happy life, assuming the bomb is a one-off.

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory released a report in 2011 that spells all this out. It hasn’t gotten nearly the attention it deserves.

It’s called the “National Capital Region Key Response Planning Factors for the Aftermath of Nuclear Terrorism” and it makes for fascinating reading.

Did you know, for example, that:

1. The WORST thing for someone to try to do, in the aftermath of a nuclear explosion that they survive, is to get in a car and drive away.

2. Unless you’re within about a third to a half a mile radius of ground zero and the shelter options are poor, the BEST thing for someone to do is to find a stable location inside a well-built apartment or office building — the majority of which will remain standing outside that half mile radius — and stay there for 24 hours.

And if you were very close to ground zero and you did survive — and a lot of folks will — the best thing for you to do is to:

A. Take immediate shelter somewhere, because fallout will rain down on you if you don’t.

B. Wait an hour.

C. Then, walk about a half-dozen blocks laterally until you find intact large buildings to shelter you.

3. The electromagnetic pulse from a ground burst will NOT, in fact, knock out all types of communication. Some? Maybe.

4. If you live in a single-family house with thin walls, your chances of surviving in the immediate aftermath of a blast and not getting cancer later are exponentially higher than if you seek shelter in a bigger building, even one that might literally be next door.

5. Rescuers should NOT put on radiation protection gear if it will slow them down. So long as the fallout has stopped falling, they’re best advised to turn out in their normal gear.

6. Though thousands of people will die from the blast effects, almost all — about 96 percent — of the other potential casualties could be avoided if people understood the basics of what to do in the event of mass radiation exposure.

7. Did I mention that the worst place to be in the immediate aftermath of a nuclear blast is in a car trying to get away? The so-called DFZ — the Dangerous Fallout Zone — will extend out as much as 20 miles, but it is likely to be extremely narrow. (If it’s not, that means the concentration of radioactive particles will be lower.) The vector and location of this zone depends on the wind. And its size will shrink with every passing hour.

8. Penetrating trauma from broken glass is probably the largest treatable cadre of blast injuries.

I admit that I don’t know what forum the president or anyone else could use to educate people in major cities about this stuff. Government never wants to alarm people. But maybe a little bit of alarmism is worth it, if it turns out that a terrorist’s nuclear blast is a lot more survivable than we might think, if only we do certain things.

Armored vehicles vs militia…

It will be interesting to see how the militia deals with those armored vehicles… the RPG-29 Vampir is capable of wiping the floor with main battle tanks, including our own Abrams. The Ukrainians might have some… and, of course, there’s always fire…

I’m sure the Russians (and by extension, the Ukrainians) have the equivalent of our Stinger.

How this plays out will be very interesting as a teaching moment…

AWD,

The article you posted said this –

“Interestingly enough, though, the government has done quite a bit of work to figure out what exactly would happen if a suitcase nuke — which, I know, doesn’t really exist, but, for the sake of this example, bear with me — actually did explode a few blocks from the White House.”

Doesn’t really exist, huh? Like Bigfoot and Unicorns?

I’m hoping that the dumbshit who wrote that was being sarcastic. The US military has already deployed man-portable nukes via SF troopers on HALO drops… twice, if memory serves. Just to prove we can do it. And that was what, 40 years ago? A nuke small enough to be carried by one man…

And here we are, 40 years later… you think the goobermint scientists haven’t been working long into the night trying to figure out how to make them even smaller? Not only our goobermint scientists, but the goobermint scientists of other countries, some not so friendly?

Theoretically, you can make a nuke the size of a hand-greande… small enough to shoplift… it’s just a matter of building it…

Except for Wall Street, the banksters, The 112 million welfare/disability recipients, the 0.1%, those on the SS ponzi scheme, free healthcare recipients (Medicare and Medicaid), the 30 million union government drones, the farmers and agriculture lobby, the 55 million getting free SNAP food, who would really care if Washington got wiped off the map? Our nation of patriots and producers would rejoice, the parasites would have to work. Oh, the horror.

Let’s see,

The director of the CIA has a clandestine, “secret” visit to Kiev over the weekend, to visit the US puppet, I mean Ukraine president (an act of war). The next day, there are protestors outside the Ukraine capital, demanding the puppet (I mean president) step down. Oh, look over there, we’re going to attack Russians, let’s go!

Does anyone not see the two are related? Brennen gives the puppet his marching orders, and it’s off to war.

An Open Letter from Ukraine
An Open Letter from Ukraine

An Open Letter from Ukraine:

We the people of South-East Ukraine want to address the people of America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Please hear us!

The illegal government sitting in Kiev has given orders to kill us. Our strongest desire is to live in peace. We have families and want to watch our kids grow up and fall in love. We appeal to you: Don’t believe what this government is telling you!

Here in the South-East of Ukraine, a real civil war is starting. The government has brought foreign mercenaries armed with powerful weapons to use against peaceful people. They are killing our men. They are using gas!

We do not want to participate in the illegal elections they want to have. The people of South-East Ukraine do not accept the Government in Kiev as legitimate. How can we? They keep saying they want to kill us! Could you accept that? Our legitimate president is Yanukovych.

There are a lot of neo-fascists (in Ukraine we call them “banderovcy”), mercenaries, and right-wing political parties such as “Svoboda” in South-East Ukraine. They are in every city! We will take the fight to them! There is nothing else we can do. We think it is better to be killed in battle then to accept fascism. Believe us. We are the people of South-East Ukraine.

We do not want to enter NATO and the European Union. That is why all the illegitimate usurpers of the government of Ukraine want us killed: Turchynov, Yatsenyuk, Tymoshenko, Yarosh, Poroshenko, and Klitschko.

They will kill our peaceful citizens in the regions of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lugansk, and Odessa. These regions are already surrounded by military machines–tanks, armored troop carriers, and mercenaries. We beg the people of America, Europe, Asia and Africa: Help us stop fascism! We have no right to let them start a THIRD WORLD WAR. This will be nuclear war. Don’t forget that! The whole earth will be destroyed. Before this final fight, we the people of the South-East of Ukraine beseech you. It is our last wish. Listen to us and understand! Help us and help yourself! We will fight and die for the peace of the world!

What happens in the war between Russia and Ukraine will not affect us as much as the war between the United States and America.
