No wonder Obama loves Hawaii so much. We need to ban the entire Constitution as soon as we get done banning guns, banning free speech, and making sure the government knows everything you are saying, doing, texting, and thinking.

Statists Declare War on Free Speech – College Students Banned from Handing Out Constitutions in Hawaii
There appears to be a growing war against free speech on college campuses across America, and it is a battle we as a society and culture simply cannot lose. If you recall, last fall I highlighted a case in which a student at Modesto Junior College in California was prevented from handing out Constitutions to fellow students on Constitution Day. I suggest you go back and take a read and watch the very troubling video: California Student Banned from Handing Out Constitutions on Campus.
Well it appears that the Constitution is also considered contraband in the state of Hawaii. According to the Daily Caller:
Students Merritt Burch and Anthony Vizzone, members of the Young Americans for Liberty chapter at UH-Hilo, were prevented from handing out copies of the Constitution at a recruitment event in January. A week later, they were again informed by a censorship-minded administrator that their First Amendment-protected activities were in violation of school policy.
Young Americans for Liberty is a great organization by the way.
The students were told that they could only distribute literature from within UH-Hilo’s “free speech zone,” a small, muddy, frequently-flooded area on the edge of campus.
Administrators further clarified their level of respect for students’ free speech rights, making comments like, “This isn’t really the ’60s anymore,” and “people can’t really protest like that anymore,” according to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.
Administrators also maintained that university policy took precedent over Constitutional rights, according to the complaint.
“It’s not about your rights in this case, it’s about the University policy that you can’t approach people,” said Ellen Kusano, director of Student Affairs, according to the complaint.
While the above is absolutely ridiculous, and more representative of a totalitarian state than anything remotely resembling freedom, there is some good news. The same law firm that sued on behalf of the Modesto student I mentioned earlier (who won a $50,000 settlement), is suing on behalf of the University of Hawaii student.
Fox News reports that:
Two students at the University of Hawaii at Hilo are suing the school over alleged First Amendment violations after they were told by a campus official that they couldn’t approach fellow students to hand out copies of the Constitution.
The students are being represented by Davis Wright Tremaine, the law firm that recently helped a student who was blocked last year from handing out copies of the Constitution win a $50,000 settlement against Modesto Junior College in California.
According to the complaint, an administrator told Burch and Vizzone that if they wanted to protest the school’s policy, they could do so in the college’s “free speech zone,” described by FIRE as a one-third acre area on the edge of campus.
The “free speech zone” at UH Hilo represents less than one percent of the college’s total area and is muddy and prone to flooding, according to a FIRE news release.
“The First Amendment is not optional at public colleges—it’s the law. Enforcing restrictive ‘free speech zone’ policies that prevent students from passing out copies of the Constitution is impossible to justify,” Lukianoff said in a statement.
So the good news is these kids know their rights and they are fighting back. We should also applaud the efforts of the folks representing these kids at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.
One important takeaway, which I am sure you noticed, is this ridiculous concept of “free speech zones” that the statists are attempting to use everywhere in an effort to stifle free speech. Hawaii Leads Nation in Making Welfare More Attractive than Work
HONOLULU, Hawaii — August 19, 2013 — Hawaii leads the nation in making welfare more attractive than work according to a recent report by the CATO Institute. The white paper report “The Work Versus Welfare Trade-off: 2013” says:
—- Hawaii ranks first among the fifty states in several categories which produce a disincentive for welfare recipients to leave welfare or reduce their benefits for employment.
—- An average Hawaii welfare recipient would need to earn $60,590 in pre-tax wages in order to earn the equivalent of his or her welfare benefits.
—- Hawaii also ranked first in the hourly wage equivalent of welfare benefits per recipient with an average of $29.13.

Hawaii has long been a socialist state. They have mandatory health insurance requirements, and it seems everyone works for the government there. I lived there two years, and between the military and government workers, it was socialism central. Socialism isn’t compatible with the constitution, and free speech. Don’t want people waking up to their government dependence.
Oh, and like the mainland, Hawaii has large, vibrant victim class: the natives. Like blacks, there is nothing you can do to get them to work or produce. Like blacks, they sit around all day long, drinking and smoking weed and eating. Not a bad way to live, as long as somebody else is paying.

Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Kittens
Comrades, today I stand in solidarity with our dear Comrade inJustice Sotomayor in her lengthy and overly booooorrrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnngggggg wailing and gnashing of teeth (get a load of the scary photo in that article!) about affirmative action. Sotomayor was upset by the majority opinion in a recent Supreme Court case. Nasty, evil reichwingers like Clinton appointee Breyer agreed with Michigan voters in saying that college admissions could not use race as a factor in that state. Of course, Comrade inJustice Darth Vader Ginsburg (also here and here) naturally agreed with Sotomayor.
How will I stand in solidarity with Comrade Sotomayor and Comrade Darth Vader Ginsburg? The other day, a feral cat had 7 kittens on my back porch. So, I’m keeping them all safe until adoption time for the kittens. Alas, I already have four cats and at best I can only admit on a long term basis just one kitten. The mother cat will get fixed after the kittens are weaned so there won’t be any other admissions issues. Anyway, here is what I must do. My kitten admissions policy will be in the utopia that Sotomayor and Ginsburg desire. I will take a kitten whose physical features (color and markings) are both in the minority compared to the total seven kittens AND allows for diversity in my home by having markings and colors not currently represented in the present population of four. Comrades, this is a two-fer! Isn’t this wonderful? I get to do affirmative action AND diversity. And it helps that these admissions criteria already narrow it down to precisely one kitten. No thinking involved! No need to assess personality, behavior, whether the kitten gets along with the existing population or any of that stuff that requires mental effort. By making policy solely on diversity and affirmative action issues, I have now made my decision when they are less than 48 hours old!
But the world of next Tuesday will not come easily, Comrades. We have lost Michigan college admissions. And we have not solidly gained anything on kitten admissions into homes. Therefore, Comrades, I suggest we urge our Comrades in Congress to drop everything and make a law requiring diversity and affirmative action as the ONLY criteria to be used when adding cats or kittens to the home. Nothing else matters, Comrades! This is vital for our future. And once we get our foot in the door, it can easily be added to dogs. And fish. And birds. And snakes or rats (not to be confused with the Democrat Party).
If this person were instead handing out literature proposing to abolish the constitution claiming it was out dated and irrelevant, he would be allowed to do so. After all it’s his under the first amendment in the constitution.
And these are supposed to be smart people? When the fuck did we agree to submit to “Free Speech Zones” in the U.S. I don’t recall that vote somehow.
