ADMIN IS THE PROUD POPPA OF A …….

Glock 19 9 mm handgun

I went to my second firearms instruction course yesterday and we moved up from a Smith & Wesson 22 to a Glock 19 9 millimeter handgun. It felt comfortable and I was pretty accurate with it for a beginner. Chris, the instructor, highly recommended it as a home protection handgun that is also easy for Avalon to handle. The clip holds 15 bullets. With that many chances, even an amateur like myself should be able to hit an intruder.

After my session I went upstairs at Target World in Chalfont to buy the gun. The guys were extremely helpful and informative. I’m also now a member of the NRA, as that got me a 5% discount on the gun and any future purchases at the store. The questionnaires and paperwork that had to be filled out for the Feds and State police were duplicative and senseless – as if a criminal would actually answer yes to any of the ridiculous questions. I guess I’m not in some database yet, as I passed my background check with flying colors.

Next step will be to fill out the Carry paperwork for my County and take it to the courthouse in Norristown. That’s funny because Norristown is the most dangerous place in Montgomery County, where you should be armed to begin with. We’ll start going to the range regularly and becoming proficient in using our new firearm.

They tell me this gun is the most popular selling gun in America. Now you monkeys can tell me what a dumbass I am for buying this weapon. Let the games begin.

I’d also like to make a plug for Chris Sfinas, our instructor. He’s ex-military and an excellent instructor. Here is a link to his website. If you live in the Montgomery County area and want to take the same step we did, give him a call.

@ Billy,, your comment reminded me of the old and very true adage which wisely states that a young man will fight you , but an old man will kill you.I’ve known a bunch of those old fucks in my day…back when I was a kid many wore -WWI and II vets -their guns out for all the world to see…no permission asked nor needed .like Pancho himself.

Rise Up says:-it’s damn near as accurate as the ARs…

hah..it’s all according to the shooter . I’ve seen some amazing shots out to 200 yards accomplished by those using the humble albeit legendary Mini 14.I like ’em.

Billy,

The PS90 runs 5.7mm x 28 ammo and yes we have the matching pistol, didn’t say the gun was good for nothing other than it is fun to shoot. That being said, granted it doesn’t have the stopping power of heavier ammo but what it does give you with the minimum recoil is the ability hit what you are aiming at in tight groupings rapid firing. So there’s that. Which is why the wife likes it, between 50 and 100 yards, she might have to put two or three in you to let the air out of ya but so be it.

Congrats! Now, time to buy up a whole lot more. If you thought GI Joe or Transformers or Barbie had too many must-have accessories, just wait til’ you get started on guns.

Admin, that little lady Smith & Wesson is a good little gun. My sister in law has one and it shoots and carries real nice.

Is Avalon getting a gun and CCP as well? Even if she does not want one or intend to carry it might be a good idea to get both now and have them just in case. My wife rarely carries but she has a Glock 9mm and permit. When I went to surgery last year I took my gun with me but she had to carry it once I went into pre-op so it’s handy to have the permit.

Around here you cannot carry in a bar or anywhere that those under 21 are not allowed. I’m sure they went over such things during your classes but if not be sure to study local laws regarding guns.

I’m looking forward to Avalon’s thoughts on the classes you guys attended if she is inclined to write about it.
