PASS THE DONUTS & THE AMMUNITION

At least the average police officer has a below average IQ to go along with an above average waistline and an off the charts sociopathic desire to bully, intimidate and push citizens around. Plus they have lots and lots of military equipment provided by the DHS Gestapo with your tax dollars.

FBI: 80 Percent Of Police Officers Are Overweight

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) – The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation released a new statistic, which states 8 out of every 10 law enforcement members are overweight.

Their findings have spurred the Garland Police Department make a plan for their officers to improve their fitness.

“I think it’s important for all of us to keep the weight down and stay in shape-especially this job. The stress that we incur at this job… this is a great way to relieve the stress and to keep the blood pressure down,” said Garland Assistant Chief Jeff Bryan.

Bryan said he spends most of his time at work behind a desk, but still hits the departments on-site gym three days a week.

Researchers have said law enforcement personnel are 25 times more likely to die from weight related cardiovascular disease than the actions of a criminal.

“When you’re in a life or death struggle, you’ve got to win that fight, said Bryan about the importance of keeping fit.

But an estimated 80 percent of law enforcement officers are overweight, according to the FBI.

“Do we have some that are overweight? Sure we do. But, not to that percentage,” said Garland police spokesperson Joe Harn.

He said their department works to cultivate a culture of fitness for many reasons.

“Somebody that did a full career in law enforcement? Average age was 60 — that’s when they died, at 60 years old. So what we found out is if we’re going to improve and overcome that stress, we’ve got to stay in shape, we’ve got to control our weight if we want to live longer,” said Harns.

A number of local law enforcement agencies provide on-site gyms to encourage lifelong physical fitness but admit that beyond the academy, there are no formal policies in place.

My favorite take is “law enforcement personnel are 25 times more likely to die from weight related cardiovascular disease than the actions of a criminal.” Donuts are more dangerous than armed criminals. Surely we need to up armor more vehicles and supply the LEOs with more machine guns since they are in such danger from sitting on their fat asses so much of the day. Here in Massachusetts the cops are upset that the standard cop car was downsized to a Dodge Charger from the old Grand Marquis so many of the local and state police forces are supersizing to very expensive gas guzzling SUVs. Our tax dollars hard at work, or is that hardly at work, unless it is giving you a ticket.

I say let them be fat. The fatter they are, the less they can/will do.

@Glock-N-Load, EXACTLY.

I say we should encourage it, when you see a cop getting a meal/snack, offer to buy them a cookie, or three, the fatter the better!

I feel the same way about the baggy pants segment of society. I cannot believe the stupid (fat) fucks that want to mandate that the potential criminal’s pants be secured to their body.

The only chance most of our cops have in a foot pursuit with a yout is if the yout’s pants fall down and trip him.

Like tattoos, baggy pants are a blaring reminder of exactly whom I am dealing with. I just can’t/won’t take a grown man seriously whom is wearing pants that are showing his underwear.

So basically they NEED these MRAP’s to haul their fat asses around. Ford ought to get into MRAP production as the Crown Vic will not be able to carry cops in the future.

So they are more likely to be overweight, that makes them less effective and more likely to go to the dunkin donuts in the sky prematurely so they will be gone and off the subsidized healthcare sooner rather than later.
I see very little that isnt advantageous about this.

If the population was well-armed, not only would the police not shoot unarmed people committing no serious crimes, crime would go down 1st as criminals would know the people could defend themselves even before the cops arrived (to shoot the wrong person, more than likely).

The less well-armed a city is, the more crime ridden it is. Anti-gun laws disproportionately screw the poor & middle class, on purpose. Who’d ever think that would happen?
