Is this really about black people? Making a martyr out of Michael Brown seems to be a stretch. We have video of what a forthright citizen he was. It seems there were witnesses to what happened and it appears he just might have attacked the officer. I’m guessing the three autopsies will include a toxicology screen. Whether the Feds allow it to be reported is another matter.

By giving them PERMISSION to act in our stead, it frees up the citizenry to live their own lives.
But by delegating someone to act in your stead – giving them permission, in other words – you do not negate nor diminish your own power. The state has the ability and authority to use force because we GAVE it that authority – that power. FURGUSON, MO — Following a week of clashes between police and citizens, Governor Jay Nixon has signed an executive order deploying Missouri National Guard soldiers to descend upon Ferguson to restrict travel, assist law enforcement, and face off against protesters and criminals. The order bears significance as the first time the National Guard has been ordered to quell civil unrest since 1992 in Los Angeles.
Executive Order 14-09 follows another order from earlier this week, which declared Missouri to be under a State of Emergency and granted extraordinary powers to law enforcement, including the imposition of a mandatory curfew. [UPDATE: The curfew was abandoned on August 18th.]
“Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard… in restoring peace and order to this community,” Nixon said in a statement.
According to the order, troops will be tasked with “restricting and/or closing streets and thoroughfares in the City of Ferguson” and provide other assistance “as may be authorized and directed by the Governor of this state.”
This week’s executive actions have enabled the cordoning off of parts of the city and the restriction of civilian travel and public assembly, to be enforced in part by military personnel.
Officials say the extreme measures are necessary because of the faction of violent criminal element that refuses to stop looting and provoking police.
The introduction of soldiers into the fray does not elicit images of peace, given that the police themselves have already been quite violent during a week of various conflicts, using generous amounts of teargas and rubber bullets to disperse crowds.

I remember a couple of years ago I was on our multi-county train down here (Tri Rail) sitting in back of a young medium skinned male in his mid ’20s. Train was pretty empty that time of day. The Worm Turns In Ferguson
Well, well, well now we have some interesting forensic evidence to look at.
That evidence in the form of an autopsy has disabused a number of theories right up front. Let’s get rid of the ones that don’t fit the facts any more.
Michael Brown was shot in the back. No he wasn’t. There were no entrance wounds in his back. The cop might have shot at him while he was running, but if he did he either missed or hit him in his right arm or hand. (More on that in a minute.)
Michael Brown was executed at close range with the cop on top of him. No he wasn’t. There was no powder residue on his body and no stippling noted. This is very good evidence that none of the rounds were fired within 3′; burns themselves typically occur within a foot but some evidence of the powder discharge itself is usually found on the body for a discharge within 3′. This presents a problem for the police narrative, by the way, in that the first round was allegedly fired in the cop car during a claimed struggle for the cop’s weapon. Where is the power burn from the discharge of that round? Incidentally, if there was a round discharged in the car neither Brown or the officer could hear a damn thing, including “I surrender”, for many minutes afterward. You’re free to try discharging a pistol in an enclosed space with no hearing protection if you’d like but I recommend against it (Warning: The damage to your hearing from doing so may be permanent!)
He turned and charged the officer. Maybe. But that doesn’t explain two wounds — the one to his left eye and the one on top of his head. More on that in a minute, and those two wounds are a big problem for our officer.
They should have called an ambulance. Immaterial; he was dead before he hit the ground. It was crass to leave him on the street for four hours but it had no impact on the outcome.
Brown was 6’4; the officer was almost-certainly shorter than him. If the officer is of average height he’s about 5’10, which means he would be shooting upward when aiming at his head. This in turn means that shooting him in the top of the head with what was identified as the fatal shot was impossible if Brown was advancing on him while erect on a level city street (and it is level; we can see that from the pictures.) There will be those who claim that he might have put his head down (like a football player) to tackle the cop, but there’s a problem with that too — you can’t tackle what you can’t see and the discharge of the firearm took place at more than 3′ from the target; ergo, if he had done that he couldn’t have seen who he was charging at that distance. We know he was not only too far away when the first of those two shots were fired he remained too far away for the period of time covering both discharges since there was no powder residue or stippling found on Brown’s head and face.
Then there is the shot to the eye socket. That bullet entered the right eye, exited in the area of his lower right jaw in a straight line downward and then re-entered his collarbone area directly underneath. The path of travel of that round is virtually impossible for a round fired at an erect man who is looking at the shooting party. That bullet did not ricochet, it traveled in a straight line from impact to where it came to rest. The evidence shows that round was fired from above his right eye nearly parallel, not perpendicular, to the plane of Brown’s face.
There were also multiple hits to his arm. Those could have been fired while he was fleeing (especially the round to his hand; the fleshy part of your palm faces backward while you’re running for a good part of your stride) but they were not fatal. Those impacts are (sadly) consistent with attempted center-mass shots and the generally-poor marksmanship of our police officers. Being shot, of course, will certainly get your attention though….
The shot to the eye and it’s path, and the one that hit him in the top of the head does match a scenario where Brown is hit in the hand and/or arm while running, turns, drops to his knees and drops his head in reaction to those wounds (looking at them) and the cop delivers two more rounds to his head. That would also align his cheek with the collarbone and establish the straight line and angle of impact that we know the bullet followed from the forensic evidence.
The problem is that unless this cop is a 7’+ tall giant I don’t think you can get there from here if Brown is on his feet at the time those two last shots are fired. I’d have to mock it up with a couple of dummies to be sure, but my “best guess” is that you can’t come up with a solution where the officer aims his weapon across the sights and produces that bullet path.
This, standing alone, isn’t proof that the cop delivered two coup-de-grace rounds to Brown — we need more forensics, most-particularly where the expelled cartridges were and where the shots were allegedly fired from, an explanation for the alleged discharge of the officer’s weapon in the car that is being cited as justification for shooting in the first place (specifically, why Brown doesn’t have any evidence of powder on his body, in particular on his hands, if he was fighting over the gun!) and a cogent explanation of how those two rounds took the path these did other than the cop putting two in a man’s head that was on his knees and looking at his wounds — in which case he most-certainly was not attacking the officer at the time those two rounds were fired.
The autopsy is not damning evidence but on the balance of known facts the future got a lot dimmer for our dear officer this morning.
The Grand Jury will find this interesting I’m sure.

St. Louis Cops Shoot and Kill Man Near Ferguson, Crowd Gathers
Two St. Louis city police officers shot and killed a black man who came within several feet of them brandishing a knife on Tuesday a few miles from the turbulent suburb of Ferguson, authorities said.
A crowd of at least 100 people quickly gathered at the scene.
Some people chanted, “Hands up! Don’t shoot!” — the refrain from a week of protests over the police killing of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, three miles away.
The man in the St. Louis shooting, 23, had taken energy drinks and a package of pastries from a nearby convenience store, Police Chief Sam Dotson told reporters. He said that the man was “acting erratically, walking back and forth, up and down the street.”
The chief said that the officers repeatedly ordered the man to drop the knife and drew their weapons after he did not drop it. The chief said the man told the police: “Shoot me now. Kill me now.”
He said the two officers fired after the man moved toward one of them and came within 3 to 4 feet.

apologize for building schools for you which we have had to repair over and
over after you vandalized them beyond use. We apologize for inventing computers
and the Internet, neither of which you use very much, but when you do use them
it’s mostly to bash our race.
There were almost 770,000 interracial violent crimes committed between blacks and Whites
Blacks committed 85% of those crimes
Blacks committed 39 times as many violent crimes against Whites (roughly 650,000) as vice versa
Blacks robbed 136 times as many Whites (139,000) as the reverse
Blacks raped 17 times as many White women (15,400) as the reverse (This number is certainly much higher, White men almost never rape black females. It is probably the most distorted of the ratios because of Hispanic-on-black crimes being counted as White-on-black.)
Blacks committed five times as many assaults on Whites (489,000)
Blacks murdered two-and-a-half times as many Whites 26,727) as vice versa (Another ratio that is far too low because of the distortion created by counting Hispanic-on-black crimes as White-on-black. Most of the black murders in this category were committed by Hispanic gang-members in turf wars.)
Perhaps the most shocking number is the multiple-offender rape (aka “gang rape”) ratio. According to National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) estimates, blacks gang-raped approximately 10,000 white women per year during those years, the NCVS could not identify a single instance of Whites gang-raping a black female.
An oft-reported “fact” is that black-on-black crime is more common than black-on-White — as if this somehow excuses black-on-White crimes. But according to DOJ data this isn’t true. Although the numbers change slightly from year-to-year, for the years studied in the report, blacks committed roughly 57% of their crimes against non-blacks, including 45% against Whites, 10% against Hispanics, and 2% against others. Only 43% of black-perpetrated crime was against other blacks.
Finally, the reports analyzed by the New Century Foundation don’t appear to cover crimes committed in prisons, including rape, that are overwhelmingly black-on-White. According to one report, No Escape: Male Rape in U.S. Prisons, there are as many as 140,000 prison rapes each year. If these crimes were included, the ratios would be even more staggering.
