HOW THEY DEAL WITH POLICE BRUTALITY IN SWITZERLAND

A soccer fan runs onto the field holding a sign. Gets tackled by 4 police. Fine right? I understand they need to do their job and be safe. I get it. But then as the 4 police are trying to arrest the subject, they decide several hard shots with the butt end of a billy-club is in order. They soon found out society does not take kindly to adrenaline seeking thug cops. Near the end of the video, the one cop who was using the billy-club was running away with his tail between his legs. Not so tough when the tables are turned. I also do not believe that was the type of adrenaline rush he was looking for. Unfortunately this type of thing happens far to often. The good cops, the ones who respect civil liberties and human rights, are few and far between.

More on the Ferguson Story

Cops Rob Citizens = Citizens Tired Of Abuse?

Gee, did Mr. Brown get pissed off at being confronted by a cop because he had a handful of stolen cigars in his hand or did he do so because on a historical basis walking or driving while black is the reason people get — at least financially — attacked in Ferguson on a literal daily basis?

“Despite Ferguson’s relative poverty, fines and court fees comprise the second largest source of revenue for the city, a total of 2,635,400,” according to the ArchCity Defenders report. And in 2013, the Ferguson Municipal Court issued 24,532 arrest warrants and 12,018 cases, “or about 3 warrants and 1.5 cases per household.”

Really?

Oh, it gets better:

A Ferguson court employee reported, for example, that “the bench routinely starts hearing cases 30 minutes before the appointed time and then locks the doors to the building as early as five minutes after the official hour, a practice that could easily lead a defend net arriving even slightly late to receive an additional charge for failure to appear.”

So the court (intentionally) starts hearing cases before your appearance time and if you’re not there before the time you were summoned you’re at risk of having a second charge added for failure to appear. Then on top of that if you’re as little as five minutes late the door to the building is locked, so you can’t even plead your case that they called you before the time on the citation — quite reasonably so, especially if you took public transit to get there. Now you wind up with a second charge against you, and no opportunity to contest it since, of course, there’s no proof you were there as you can’t get in.

Can anyone reasonably claim a rigged system like this generates 3 legitimate arrest warrants per household in a year?

REALLY?

Growing up with that all around you on a daily basis doesn’t give you a perfectly-good reason to believe that a cop who stops short and exits his car because you’re walking in the street, an “offense” that at worst should generate a jaywalking citation and on a residential street, which this was, it shouldn’t generate anything at all except perhaps a rolled down window and a polite inquiry as to the fact that you’re running the risk of getting hit by a car, might be an excellent indication of bad faith on the part of the officer?

THREE WARRANTS PER HOUSEHOLD folks and over $2.6 million in fines and fees last year, or to put a number on it about $130 per man, woman and child in the town? Over $500 per family of four on average?

This is legitimate rather than outright theft and extortion?

Riiiiiiight.

“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”

Indeed experience hath shewn exactly that.

PS: What do you do when the MO of your city, on the numbers, is “Armed robbery by the police”?

Government Planned To Sniper Shoot Occupy Protesters

TruthDig reported last year:

“Did the FBI ignore, or even abet, a plot to assassinate Occupy Houston leaders?” asks investigative reporter Dave Lindorff at WhoWhatWhy. “What did the Feds know? Whom did they warn? And what did the Houston Police know?”

A Freedom of Information Act request filed by the Washington, D.C.-based Partnership for Civil Justice Fund yielded an FBI document containing knowledge of a plot by an unnamed group or individual to kill “leaders” of the Houston chapter of the nonviolent Occupy Wall Street movement.

Here’s what the document said, according to WhoWhatWhy:

An identified [DELETED] as of October planned to engage in sniper attacks against protestors (sic) in Houston, Texas if deemed necessary. An identified [DELETED] had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. [DELETED] planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest groups and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership via suppressed sniper rifles. (Note: protests continued throughout the weekend with approximately 6000 persons in NYC. ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protests have spread to about half of all states in the US, over a dozen European and Asian cities, including protests in Cleveland (10/6-8/11) at Willard Park which was initially attended by hundreds of protesters.)

Paul Kennedy of the National Lawyers Guild in Houston and an attorney for a number of Occupy Houston activists arrested during the protests said he did not hear of the sniper plot and expressed discontent with the FBI’s failure to share knowledge of the plan with the public. He believed that the bureau would have acted if a “right-wing group” plotted the assassinations, implying that the plan could have originated with law enforcement.

“[I]f it is something law enforcement was planning,” Kennedy said, “then nothing would have been done. It might seem hard to believe that a law enforcement agency would do such a thing, but I wouldn’t put it past them.”

He added that the phrase “if deemed necessary,” which appeared in the bureau’s report, further suggests the possibility that some kind of official organization was involved in the plan.

The 1st story was by Karl Denninger.

The US govt is out to bilk, tax, confiscate, harass, intimidate, then shoot anyone that fights back whether white, black, etc.

Better not be poor too.
