Glad I have a iMac with a 27″ monitor!

The stars with the beginning of a sunrise, very nice, also made me feel pretty small.

Fantastic. We live less than 20 miles out of Wellington and on any clear night (well when there is no large moon which is another story!) you can see the milky way! We have a 22 year old young woman from the U.S. living with us for a one year working holiday (a visa type for young people) and she is continually awed by the country and she has not gone 40 miles from Wellington yet!! Check her blog out if you want a more personal perspective and work your way forward from the August 14th entry… http://egrobbins.wordpress.com/

Love to hear what you think and can pass it on to her (I’ll send her the link to this page so she can check your comments our herself, I don’t think she has feedback set up on her blog).

With James Cameron moving there, you’ll soon be over run with liberals. They will destroy your country. Then you will be in the same jam as we Americans .

Bunch of time lapse bullshit. BFD. You can recreate the same shit in any beautiful rural setting in the western U.S.

Meh. New Zealand is nice but that vid looks like Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming to me. Looks like home……that’s why I live here. That video could have been shot entirely in Glacier National Park. And the sky, well, apart from being an entirely different set of stars than we can see from the northern hemisphere, looks pretty much the same as the summer sky here in the PNW. Keep in mind though that the ccd chip in the video camera is going to collect many times more light than the human eye can ever see. Still, I’d give my right nut to spend six months with my telescope in the southern hemisphere.

The Aurora Borealis put on a good show the end of last week. I could barely make it out to to strong moonlight and horrible light pollution near my workplace. It was visible as far south as Arizona.

Just got around to watching this Stucky, very beautiful indeed. I think it is important to take in moments like were presented in this video. With all the bull shit that is swirling around the world creating anxiety amongst the people that care, it is uplifting to see a display of the pure beauty areas of our planet can provide.
