When one asks “Is it right?”, it must be considered within the context of groupthink, in particular the group you are standing near and that can pummel you should you not be “right” as THEY require. One man’s cannibalism is another man’s meal.
People SAY “right” the same way they say “truth”, but what they really mean is, “You are right if you think as I do”, “It is the truth if I agree with you”. If you leave “right” or “truth” as just an abstraction, everyone nods. When it becomes a real world example of the many differences in opinion, acceptable behavior, what is right and wrong, who is true or not true, well…. then when you serve up someone’s liver with fava beans and a nice chiante, they look at you like you’ve grown a third eye in the middle of your forehead and call the cops.
