Some comedy is too close to stereotype to be discerned by those of us wondering how we’ll make it in our later years.
I’m too old to learn a new trick (occupation) and apparently too fearful to reach for yield in these “deformed” (ht to Stockman) times. This leaves me with the notion that I’ll be simply burning my capital (savings) soon, and the burn rate compares unfavorably with the total quantity available for combustion.
Perhaps it’s funny to poke fun at the FSA. I only see zombies, however, and it’s my flesh (saved capital, accumulated by NOT buying everything I wanted and living far below my means) that they intend to feast upon.
No wonder the Zombie Apocalypse genre is so popular. That’s how a whole lot of us feel…

I think there’s a lot of truth to that – popular culture reflect the public’s mood. There’s the battling dark forces meme (zombies/Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings), and there’s also the lone-wolf-finding-inner-strength meme (Hunger Games, the Katy Perry Fireworks song).

Those youtube videos were unabashedly TROLLING FOR LOW INFO VOTERS, pure and simple.
Those three yahoos have in aggregate like 4 MILLION hits/subscribers, whatever.
That Obama and his advisers would sink the office of the presidency so low to get more potential voters tells you all ya gotta know about the utter contempt they hold our country.
Obama’s last two years are going to be one big middle finger to America and western civilization in general.
