RIP SPOCK

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Leonard Nimoy, the actor best known for portraying the character Spock in the television and movie series Star Trek, has died at the age of 83, The New York Times reported. Nimoy had been hospitalized earlier this week.

Some pearls of wisdom from Spock

Without followers, evil cannot spread.

Change is the essential process of all existence.

Insufficient facts always invite danger.

Vulcans never bluff.

It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want.

Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.

Spock was the first “person” I could identify with as a kid… always wanted to grow up to be just like him. Explains a lot, I know.

RIP, Spock

So sad. THE very BEST alien … evah!!!!

Where, oh where, is Spock’s soul this very moment?

Very little is known about Vulcan religious beliefs. We do know that prior to the “Time of the Awakening” they were polytheistic. But, even in later SNG episodes it is NOT unheard of to find Vulcans honoring the traditional gods. And before bb gets to preaching hellfire and doom we also know there are NO DEMONS in Vulcan literature.

Maybe he did a mind-meld with Kim Kardashian and he’s still alive the vast universe of Kim’s ass.

Wherever you are, Spock, live long and prosper.

I was called “Spock” as a pejorative often in my yoot.

“The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one” is the creed of tyrants who base their lies on Outcome Utilitarianism, a philosophical absurdity based on the notion that the future can be predicted with accuracy.

When someone says, “If we do X it will produce Y,” he or she is stating that the outcome is predictable. The notion that this kind of predictability applies to any political or social policy is so stupid that the person espousing it should be spayed or neutered (along with any of their progeny) in an attempt to remove their “stupid” genes from the gene pool.

Stucky , I liked Star trek even though as a kid I knew it was BS.The universe is big.The distances are to great for any real space travel. We will never man a mission to Mars much less any of the other planets .I never believed in UFO,Aliens or any kind of Space man.I have always believed man has a soul.Next question who makes the soul?God.

Over the last year I saw him play parts in 4-5 TV western series. He was in his 20’s & 30’s and even played an injun! Knowing him as only a sci-fi actor it was quite different seeing him play western roles.

Star Trek was a great show. Both Star Trek and Twilight Zone were my favorites along with a few others. Loved Sci-Fi TV and movies.

It was cancelled because it was too “cerebral” for many viewers (no surprise) but gained a large following in TV syndication (reruns).

Though I liked the character of Capt Kirk way back then, Spock grew on me as I gradually grew a brain once I got older. Nimoy did a great job in his role. Excellent dialogue and good stories (often morality oriented) despite what’s now considered “cheesy” special effects.

RIP Mr. Nimoy. Live long and prosper – on the other side.

The character (Spock) and the series (Star Trek) made me the happy and successful science nerd geek I am today.

I guess Nimoy is truly going where “no man has gone before”, now.

Bon Voyage, Leonard, on your next trip around the Universe.

May it be a voyage of joy and wonder and knowledge, the the voyage your character inspired me to embark upon so many years ago.

His death reminds us of our own mortality. Like John Wayne he was immortal, until he wasn’t.

I wonder how many times people pissed him off by calling him “Dr. Spock”?
Star Trek was one of my favs as a kid, even though we only had a black & white tee-vee.

What would a Vulcan say about Spock’s passing? Logical.

His human half fucked him up a few times, lack of logic.

Why couldn’t it be Obama or some other worthless piece of fecal matter instead of legends like Nimoy?
