Poll: New Scandal Not Up to Clintons’ Usual Standards

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—A new poll indicates that the American people are deeply disappointed in Hillary Clinton’s State Department e-mail flap because it does not live up to the high standards of sordidness set by Clinton scandals of the past.

Davis Logsdon, who supervised the poll for the University of Minnesota’s Opinion Research Institute, said that those surveyed were “receptive and even intrigued” by the idea of a new Clinton scandal, but then were deflated when they learned what the scandal actually involved.

“When people hear the words ‘Clinton scandal,’ they expect a certain amount of sex and sleaze,” Logsdon said. “But once they find out that this one is about State Department e-mail regulations which may or may not have been disobeyed, they feel very let down.”

“In a sense, the Clintons have created this problem for themselves,” Logsdon added. “They set an extremely high bar with some very memorable scandals in the past, and for a lot of people, this one just doesn’t live up to the hype.”

The current scandal could be salvaged in the public’s eye if some of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails turn out to have sexual content, but Logsdon called that “a long shot.”

“The poll results show that there’s a genuine appetite out there for a juicy Clinton scandal,” he said. “But, sadly, there’s also a sense that maybe they did their best work in the nineties.”

Cute, funny article.

All joking aside, though, this is truly a worse offense than just about anything else because it reveals to depths of Clinton’s dishonesty and utter disregard for not only the law, but her public trust as the highest-ranking diplomat in the land, and the guardian of state secrets essential to our security.

For one thing, it is a serious violation of laws concerning retention and archiving of government communications, and it is an extremely serious security lapse that was not incidental, or accidental, but quite volitional and sustained over a long period of time. Actually, her actions might be classified as felonies, and she should be confronting serious charges.

Mrs. Clinton is a Yale Law School grad and long-time government official and senator who has completely no excuse for not knowing the law. I work for a FINRA- member broker/dealer, and for 12 years past, SEC rules have required the 3rd party capture and retention of all electronic communications, and that these communications must take place on the firm’s own domain and servers. All electronic devices that are used to communicate with customers or store customer or firm information, including electronic storage, phones, tablets, palm devices, laptops, whatever, whether in our office or in a “remote” location, are subject to the same rules. Violations are taken seriously by regulatory authorities. When our email is non-functional for any reason and we must send a message over our personal email to, say, our clearing firm, I must document it, and why, and what I do to rectify the problem. Fines for non-compliance range from $10,000 clear up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. The same rules apply to publicly traded companies (Sarbanes Oxley), medical practices (HIPAA), and any other regulated concern.

Worst of all, it’s a very scary security breach, when you consider a low level hacker from Rumania was able to hack into her mail. Only the gods know who else successfully hacked in and what they were able to discover. Worse, she had her own servers installed on her own property.

I repeat, the women in this country, with the exception of a few leftist loudmouths with hairy armpits, never have been nuts about Clinton, except in her early days. Her following among women had considerably narrowed by 2008, and less than ever will she win support now. Her greed and dishonesty have been manifest for a long time. She might as well drop the hell out, retire from public life, and get herself a good criminal lawyer.

Chicago999444,everyhing you write is no doubt true, but the simple fact is that Ms. Cliton is ABOVE the law and not held to the same standards as the rest of the American pubic. It is just how it is.

Ms Clinton needs to be held before the law just like anybody else. Otherwise we’ve truly become a banana republic with a two-track system of justice….one track for the wealthy & powerful and another track for the rest of us.
I sure as hell hope this + Benghazi sticks the fork in her chances to run for Pres….she’s done.

No kidding, I am still reeling from reading about it. It almost amounts to outright treason.

Clintons are above the law, and this alleged scandal is playing now just so everybody knows that right before she announces she’s running for POTUS. This will not amount to much and will be quickly forgotten, green lighting Mrs. Clinton to run roughshod over the rule of law even more than Obama once she is coronated. We can’t say we’re surprised or shocked.

I wonder when the last time was when Bill cigared that.
