HALLELUJAH!!! – UNEMPLOYMENT PLUNGES DUE TO 354,000 AMERICANS LEAVING THE WOKFORCE

This shit is almost too funny to read. The Bureau of Lies & Scams (BLS) just issued their seasonally adjusted, excel spreadsheet enhanced, monthly propaganda data for February. They have the balls to report that an economy that is hemorrhaging energy jobs, seeing retailers close stores by the hundreds, has seen manufacturing new orders decline for six straight months, has corporate profits falling, has real median household income sitting at 1989 levels and has seen 80% of all economic reports miss to the downside is creating 295,000 new jobs in the middle of the coldest, snowiest February in years. The BLS uses classic government logic. When in doubt, lie.

Of course, the BLS is still using their excel spreadsheet Birth Death model to add 132,000 phantom jobs into the calculation for all the small business hiring going on out there. It has already been documented that there are more businesses closing than opening in the US. This adjustment is a farce. It is untrue. It is more likely to be negative 132,000, which would eliminate virtually all the new jobs just reported. As usual the household survey reports an entirely different result than the blaring positive headlines in the corporate mainstream media.

A critical thinking person might wonder how the labor participation rate could go even lower (37 year lows) if the unemployment rate just reached a seven year low of 5.5%. The BLS counts on the faux journalists at CNBC and Marketwatch to not think critically. So you need to go elsewhere for some truth. Here it is:

  • Here is the blunt truth. Last month there were 148.2 million working age Americans working and 101.5 million working age Americans not working. This month there are 148.3 million working age Americans working and 101.6 million working age Americans not working. Does that sound like progress or stagnation?
  • The BLS expects you to believe that in the midst of a supposed economic recovery, 354,000 working age Americans decided to leave the workforce in one month because their financial situation is so sound. How stupid do they think we are, or are they so incompetent with their models and measurements that they just make this shit up?
  • We should be so proud. The 92.9 million Americans not in the labor force is an all-time record. Who needs a job when you can “earn” a $50,000 per year life on welfare or SSDI. Working is for suckers.

  • What are the 1.5 million working age Americans who left the workforce in the last 12 months doing? What are the 13 million working age Americans who have left the workforce since 2008 doing?
  • Since 2008 we’ve added 3 million jobs, while 13 million people have supposedly left the workforce, and the unemployment rate is supposedly lower today than it was in 2008. So the working age population is up by 16 million, we only have 3 million more jobs, but the unemployment rate has fallen from 5.8% to 5.5%. This is simply hysterical. The blatant lies, manipulation and utter bullshit is mind boggling in its outright dishonesty.
  • How come the household survey says there are only 96,000 more people employed than in January, but the blaring headline only proclaims the 295,000 from the other survey? Propaganda at its finest.

But at least were adding those high paying service jobs for waitresses, fry cooks, social services workers and retail clerks. They accounted for 45% of the jobs added. Services accounted for 259,000 of the 295,000 supposed jobs added. At least all these workers can glory in the 1.97% wage increase they’ve earned in the last year. I’m sure that is going a long way in paying those Obamacare premium increases and 10% rise in food costs.

Government reports are like the American Dream. You have to be asleep to believe them.

So if everyone with a job is fired, unemployment would hit 0%!

I never cease to be amazed that nobody cares, nobody challenges these phony stats.

We have reached a special place, a place where free speech and truth don’t matter – cause the majority of the populace is zoned out, dumbed down.

It’s my belief it will take a major physical event (like Krakatoa, an asteroid, etc) to wake them up. Maybe not wake them up – maybe just kill’em off.

Plenty of work plowing, trucking snow and cleaning snow and ice off roofs around here. 8 degrees this morning. Winter cannot end soon enough.

BOSTON MASS. DEAR DIARY

Dear Diary…

August 15 – Moved to our new home in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts It’s so beautiful here. The lake to the north looks so majestic. I can hardly wait to see it snow covered. I’m going to love it here!

October 14 -Massachusetts is definitely the most beautiful place on earth. The leaves have turned all the colors and shades of red and orange. Went for a ride through the park and saw some deer. They are so graceful. Certainly they are the most wonderful animals on earth. This must be paradise, I LOVE IT HERE!!

November 10 – Deer season will start soon. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to kill such a gorgeous animal. Hope it will snow soon. I love it here. Those red and orange leaves have covered my yard. Looks like a magnificent multi-colored carpet. HOW BEAUTIFUL. Raking and cleaning up the yard will be an opportunity for invigorating exercise in the cool crisp air.

November 15 – Ah, more leaves and more exercise.

November 18 – Jesus, still more leaves. Guess it’s best to wait until they’ve all fallen before I rake again.

November 25 – Finally, all of the trees lost their leaves and with today’s final raking it’s over for this season.
Chiropractor suggested I use a lawn maintenance service next year. Only four blisters became infected. Should probably remember to use gloves.

November 30 – What the f…? Where did all of those leaves come from? Had a little wind last night and the lawn is covered again. Oh well, they’ll just have to wait until spring.

December 12 – It snowed last night, FINALLY. Woke up to find everything blanketed in white. It looks like a postcard. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled the driveway. Had a snowball fight (I won) and when the snowplow came by and we had to shovel the end of the driveway again.
What a beautiful place. Massachusetts!

December 14 – More snow last night, I love it. The snow plow did his trick to the driveway again. I Love it here.

December 19 – More snow again last night. Can’t get out of the driveway. Can’t to get to work. I’m exhausted from shoveling. F…ing snowplow.

December 22 – More of that white shit fell again last night. As if dealing with the leaves weren’t bad enough, now I’ve got blisters all over my hands from shoveling, must remember to wear gloves. I think the snowplow hides around the corner and waits until I’m finished shoveling the driveway. The asshole.

December 25 – Merry F…ing Christmas. More frigging snow. If I ever get my hands on that son-of-a-bitch who drives the snowplow, I swear I’ll kill the bastard. Don’t know why they don’t use more salt on the roads to melt the f…ing ice.

December 27 – More white shit last night. Have been inside for three days except for shoveling out the driveway after that plow goes through every time. F…ing gloves got wet and then froze on my hands.
Doctor said it was just a mild case of frost bite, disfiguration is probably only temporary. Can’t go anywhere, car is stuck in a mountain of white shit. The weatherman says to expect another 10 inches of the shit tonight. Do you know how many shovels full of snow 10 inches is?

December 28 – The f…ing weatherman was wrong. We got 34 inches of that white shit. At this rate it won’t melt ’till summer. The plow got stuck up the road and the bastard came to the door and asked to borrow a shovel. After I told him I’d already broken six of them shoveling all the shit he pushed into the driveway, I broke my last one on his f…ing head.

January 4 – Finally got out of the house today. Went to the store to get food and on the way back I hit a damned deer that ran in front of my car. Did about $3000 damage. F…ing beasts should be killed. Wish the hunters had killed them all last November.

May 3 – Took the car to the garage in town. The thing is rusting out from all the f…ing salt they put all over the roads.

May 10 – Moved to Naples Florida. I can’t imagine why anyone in their right mind would ever live in that God forsaken state of Massachusetts!

Boston Bob. ,I drive my own truck but work at FedEx as an Independent contractor. Got two speeding tickets this month so they took away my IC privileges. Got to let lawyers handle it in court. If they can get the tickets reduced to non moving violations then I will be ok to return.Looks like I got about a 3 month vacation. Sucks ,but it was my own fault.

I think in the weeds of this report was that >50% of these jobs were the lowest paying.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-03-06/why-no-wage-increases-more-half-jobs-added-february-were-lowest-quality-lowest-payin

Also that the BLS counts anybody that worked 1 hour and made $20/week gets counted as “employed”.

Also that there were huge job losses in the energy sector: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-03-06/did-bls-once-again-forget-count-tens-thousands-energy-job-losses

Is it just me or is my government lying to me??? /snarc off//

Stocks down, the dollar WAY up.

Central banks can squeeze in one place, but the economy (the sum of actions of all people) is vastly larger and more complex than these well-educated clowns seem to grasp.

They can create credit like mad hatters and monetize debt, but they can’t control the currency markets (which is just a way to value money vs other money.)

I get a kick out of reading the MSM articles when these B(L)S reports cone out. Seems like more and more some folks are recognizing that the reports are based on made up data, lies and wishful thinking, but most people still think this great news is due to the bang up job Obama is doing or they think the great news is in spite of Obama.

Apple Major New Gold Buyer – Propel Gold Higher?
By Mark O’Byrne March 6, 2015

goldcore_bloomberg_chart1_06-03-15

– There is a major new buyer in the gold market – Apple

– New Apple watch could use up to one third of total annual gold supply

– Apple expects to sell one million gold watches per month

– Each watch to use up to two ounces of gold

– May have enormous ramifications for gold market and propel prices higher

Apple may consume up to 746 metric tonnes of gold per year in the production of its new luxury Apple watch, due for release in April. This equates to roughly one third of gold’s total annual global mine supply.

The watch will come in three varieties – the entry level “Sports” model, the mid-tier “Apple Watch” and the upper end “Apple Watch Edition” which the company says will be made of 18k (75% pure) gold and is estimated to retail from anywhere between $4,000 and $10,000.

Apple ( APPL ) have ordered their manufacturing plants in Asia to produce between 5 and 6 million units. Around half of these will be the Sports model which is expected to retail for $349.

Around one third of the order will be made up of the mid-range watch leaving an estimated one sixth of the order to be comprised of the gold edition.

I have 3 part time Jobs and still don’t make enough money to keep a roof over my head, eat, pay for gas, car insurance, and now the unaffordable health care. I guess I need a 4th part time job.

hardscrabble farmer

Anyone who wants to find work and earn enough to provide for a family can do it. Period. There is far more work to be done than there are people to do it and the base rate for even the least skill intensive of these opportunities is about triple the minimum wage.

So what’s the problem?

Expectations. Most people want a job that is exciting and glamorous and high paying with lots of benefits and great hours with a nice office and all kinds of perks with plenty of vacation and paid sick days and time off for family obligations and free lunch where you can come in late without anyone making a big deal out of it in a great city with all kinds of cool restaurants and clubs to hang out in and use the company credit card to pay for it all as long as you talk about business (wink-wink, nudge-nudge).

So with that kind of baseline for employment you can see why close to half of the available workforce would choose to sit it out on the sidelines.

I do all kinds of things off farm whenever I need money for something like taxes and insurance because I don’t consider lablor beneath me and because I am able to do whatever is neccessary with the right attitude. I work with millenial generation young men on a lot of tasks and the ones I know all work 60 or 70 hours a week doing a wide variety of young man, seasonal labor type work- firewood, snow removal, dock installation, house painting, furniture moving, etc. The base rate for most of these type jobs is $25 per hour. That means an ambitious young man with zero debt and no college can start out of the gate at 18 with an income in the 50K-75K range just for showing up.

I don’t have to tell you how hard it is to find these kinds of guys, why they are always in demand, why they are never mentioned in any type of government job propaganda and NEVER mentioned in the same breath as the ‘you have to get a college degree to earn any kind of living in America’ agitprop.

There are three guys I know doing exactly this right now. Their skill sets aren’t fully developed yet and they’re still young guys with limits, but what they have in spades is energy, strength and a can-do attitude. The customers are grateful for the help, completely able to pay, usually in cash and have a huge network of contacts to help spread the word about having this kind of labor available. The most ambitious of these guys has already bought himself a good second hand 4wd truck and works 6-7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day and does a shift as bartender afterwards. He’s good natured, smart as hell (though uncredentialed) and probably earns as much as a White House staffer. His overhead is nil, he’s only getting better at both customer service and in developing skills and he has a huge network of customers and people who use him on other jobs.

There isn’t a lack of work or money available, there is a gigantic problem in terms of what people think they should be doing and where they choose to live and how they go about it- or don’t.

Our society is mentally what you see in WalMart physically- slothful, slovenly, ignorant, insane and perpetually hungry. That’s the employment problem in a nutshell.

Hardscrabble

I’m curious if these smart young studs are attempting to run small businesses or if they are thriving underground.

hardscrabble farmer

I don’t ask because it isn’t my business. If life were fair they’d get a pass for four years (think of it as an alternative degree/apprenticeship) and then pay into the tax pool after that. What they are doing is groundwork for a future business where they would shift the labor off to up and coming young men and manage the accounts/close sales/etc. A well run business like that wold easily make them 1% by the time they are in their 30’s. Again the big issue isn’t the availability of work or income, it’s drive, attitude and competence, not one of which can be taught in college for any level of tuition. My experience has been that like high IQ or beauty, few possess these characteristics but most desire the rewards. I have encountered plenty of people who could easily replicate this kind outcome but are burdened by being lazy, shiftless, not showing up when they don’t feel like it, mailing it in when they do, doing the bare minimum, acting or saying something inappropriate, not appearing upbeat or enthusiastic, waffling when asked to do extra, etc.

The most successful people I know have a couple of common traits, and among these are the ability to always say yes, do whatever they are doing with a smile, tkeeping their word regardless of contingencies, taking pride in whatever they do, and being grateful for their compensation. None of those things are manifestly difficult or onerous and al of them create value to the customer- as well as to the person possessing them.

Well I hope that one part of their success is that they are managing to thrive apart from .gov. More power to them.
