NEOCONS, STILL AS EVIL, TRAITOROUS AND STUPID AS EVER

As always, the neocons take their orders from Tel Aviv.  Israel doesn’t see ISIS as a threat to them.  Former Israel ambassador to the US Michael Oren said a few months ago that Iran is a greater threat that ISIS.  Who cares if ISIS are barbarians who indiscriminately kill anyone that gets in their way (and often just for the hell of it)?  Slavery, rape, theft, indiscriminate murder,  it’s just part of creating the new caliphate.   Who cares that they share the same cruel and archaic form of Islam that Saudi Arabia does?  They are sunnis and they hate all shias.  The neocons are hysterical over Iran and the US having the same enemy in Iraq and Syria.

New York Times columnist Tom Friedman: ‘Should we be arming ISIS?’

 Thomas L. Friedman

New York Times columnist and author Thomas L. Friedman stunned many of his readers on Wednesday when he asked, “Should we be arming ISIS?”

Experts and journalists responded on Twitter with a quick answer: “no.”

In the column, Friedman explained that he wanted to “toss out” the question to stir up some debate.

The crux of his column is that he doesn’t think the US should keep putting itself on the same side of the fight as Iran. Friedman describes the Islamic State as “the last Sunni bulwark to a total Iranian takeover of Iraq.”

Friedman writes:

O.K., so we learn to live with Iran on the edge of a bomb, but shouldn’t we at least bomb the Islamic State to smithereens and help destroy this head-chopping menace? Now I despise ISIS as much as anyone, but let me just toss out a different question: Should we be arming ISIS? Or let me ask that differently: Why are we, for the third time since 9/11, fighting a war on behalf of Iran?

In 2002, we destroyed Iran’s main Sunni foe in Afghanistan (the Taliban regime). In 2003, we destroyed Iran’s main Sunni foe in the Arab world (Saddam Hussein). But because we failed to erect a self-sustaining pluralistic order, which could have been a durable counterbalance to Iran, we created a vacuum in both Iraq and the wider Sunni Arab world. That is why Tehran’s proxies now indirectly dominate four Arab capitals: Beirut, Damascus, Sana and Baghdad.

NY Slimes — the official newspaper of the US Gooberment. May they rot in hell …. as well as all the people who buy it, and keep them in business.

John Kerry told reporter Laura Rozen this weekend that a nuclear deal with Iran is possible, “Inshallah.”
‘Inshallah‘ means – If Allah wills it.

There is nothing that brings complete exposure to the hypocrisy and fraud of our so-called leaders than watching them hambone their way through some form of sacred or traditional motions that apply not at all to them personally as if it did, i.e. wearing a kippah and praying at the Wailing Wall, eyes all downcast and in deep reflection on something they probably wouldn’t understand if they had a degree in it. Reminds me of the hipster types who stop by and pick up a couple of grass fed T-bones after a day on the slopes cutting it up on their thousand dollar snowboards bowing to me with folded hands and saying “Namaste”. I always reply with “if you say so” and a smile.

So much is false, so little genuine that even the forms have become talismen for some sort of interpretation of reality. Maybe one day we will emerge on the other side of this madness, Inshallah.

The Coming US-Saudi Invasion of Yemen: Imagine It Was Russia

The recent events in Yemen are taking on an increasingly dangerous turn. Rather than to paraphrase what others have written, I will refer you to the following articles:

— Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya: “The Geopolitics behind the War in Yemen”
http://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2015/03/30/the-geopolitics-behind-the-war-in-yemen-i.html

— Ron Paul: “Yemen Exploding: Is The Stage Set for the Big War?”
http://www.ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2015/march/26/yemen-exploding-is-the-stage-set-for-the-big-war/

— Waqar Rizvi: “In Yemen, old strategy for a new reality”
http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2015/03/30/403962/Yemen-old-strategy-for-new-reality

What I propose to do is much more basic: I want to describe the very basic sequence of events which has taken place.

We have a country which is internally divided geographically, culturally and religiously. The President of that country was overthrown in a coup and had to flee abroad. This greatly worried some of the neighbors of this country which decided to keep recognizing the President that fled and organized a multi-state air-strikes campaign to punish the new regime. To justify their actions, these states accused another neighbor of supporting the revolutionary regime. There are now very strong and persistent rumors that the main country supporting the President in exile has massed over 100,000 troops at the border and is preparing for an invasion.

Does that not ring a bell? Is that not exactly what has taken place in the Ukraine?

Can you imagine what would have happened if Russia had decided that Yanukovich was still the only legitimate President and, assisted by Belarus would have embarked on a campaign of air-strikes which would have included the bombing of Kiev? And what if the Kremlin decided to hold consultations with it’s allies in preparation for a possible invasion with the explicit purpose to return Yanukovich to Kiev in a Russian tank?

And yet nobody is proposing to cut Saudi Arabia off the SWIFT system or deny them credits. Nobody is imposing any sanctions. The Arab and Muslim states are all turning collectively blind, even when reports surface of Israel participating in the bombing campaign. In fact, except for Russia – no country seems to mind what is taking place, even though the disasters which all the recent interventions of the Empire are clear for all to see.

The one good thing from that unrepentant, “in your face” kind of hypocrisy and double-standards is that the charade about human rights, democracy, justice, self-determination, international law, etc is dead and buried and all that is left is the ugly face of raw violence and the law of the jungle. I applaud that as I prefer an evil which shows its face to one which pretends to be kind. Finally the ugly true face of the Empire is emerging and that shows that its end is also coming closer with every passing day.

The United States, to use a quaint old fashioned term, has been invaded successfully only once, and that was by the Neocons. 9/11 was the only combat necessary to force the capitulation of large segments of the American government, which driven by pure greed or authoritarian impulses deeply at odds with our better traditions, accepted uncritically the ridiculous “official” story of the September attacks. Now believing any number of absurd lies is a basic requirement for success in Washington. I used to think these f$$kers might just die off before creating total havoc and destroying us, but I guess that was foolish. Now there are too many highly paid idiots like Friedman infesting the media to imagine any popular uprising that would force a purge of these scum bags. I know we don’t have a spotless history, but I do believe 9/11 probably marked the beginning of the Fall. So there we have it, a preposterous false narrative like a malignancy, metastasizing throughout the society as the warfare/welfare state expands breeding poverty and repression. Dimitri Orlov’s article speaks to this issue and the likely outcome.

a small doses of reality for the hero worshiping arm-chair warmongers.

Martin van Creveld is the very opposite of an innocent on this subject. He knows more about war, the history of war, and the strategy and tactics of war than nearly anyone on the planet. And so when a world-famous military expert, who lives in the heart of the land that is most threatened by Iranian weapons, contradicts the neocons living in the USA who have been beating the war drum for a decade and claiming that the mad mullahs are simply slavering to hurl nuclear-tipped missiles at Israel the moment they have them, I suggest that it is wise to listen to the former, not the latter.

“Netanyahu has Iran in his head and effectively used it to win the elections. Yet truth to say, no Iranian leader has ever directly threatened Israel. To be sure, neither Iran’s presidents nor the Mullahs like the Zionist Entity. They do not stand to attention when Hatikvah is played. They have even had the chutzpah to deny the Holocaust. Yet all they have said is that, if Israel attacked them, they would respond in kind. Also that “rotten” Israel would end up by collapsing under its own weight. All this serves to divert attention away from their real purpose. That purpose, as I just said, is to deter the U.S. And to draw as much support in the Moslem world as verbal attacks on Israel always do.

Finally, morality. Are the Iranians really as bad as some people claim? Taking 1981 as our starting point, we find that in the three and a half decades since then the U.S has waged war first against (or in) Grenada; then Panama; then Iraq; then Serbia (in Bosnia); then Serbia again (in Kosovo); then Afghanistan; then Iraq again; then Libya. In some of these praiseworthy enterprises it was supported by its allies, the Netherlands included.

The Iranians are not angels—far from it. They have meddled in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, as they still do. They have also assisted terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas. But everything is relative. They have not waged large-scale warfare against any other country. Let alone bombed it or invaded it.

And that, in the final analysis, is all that matters.”

McCain is crazy and so is ‘Lil Lindsay. Put them on the front lines first, then we’ll see if they support it.

Tom Friedman is an idiot and like Daniel Gross (Newsweek, Daily Beast) he’s a Jew who’s ashamed not to be from NYC. Erstwhile liberals like Friedman and Zakaria argued for the war against Saddam and then turned against it, supposedly because the regime change hadn’t been done “right” (as though you can kick a hornets’ nest and expect the hornets to stay placid). The definitive take-downs of Friedman are by Matt Taibbi starting with this epic mocking: http://www.nypress.com/flathead/. Taibbi has followed up with a few more mockings. The Israelis aren’t afraid of Arabs. They’re afraid of the Persians. Maybe Persians are smarter than Arabs and more deserving of apprehension, but the Israelis damn sure don’t give a fuck about hundreds or even thousands of Syrian Christians having been killed and dismembered by Sunnis. Assad protected religious minorities much more than any Sunni government would, but the Israelis had it out for him for years. Obama, McCain, Graham, Hillary Clinton… They’re all the same – siding with the Sunnis against the Shia and Alawites. From what I can tell, the Shia are less bad. Not good, but less bad. In any case, we should stay the fuck out. The Israelis have 200 submarine based nukes. They can do their own deterring.
