Could you ever imagine Obama trying to do that let alone wanting to or being able to. With the attention span of a tse-tse fly and the depth of a pocket worn dime he doesn’t even have the imagination to lie for that many hours. BTW it starts at about the 19 minute mark. Oh and look no teleprompter or complete script, just notes. Inflation 11.4 %, if that was here most Americans would be balled up in the fetal position crying for the government to help them. Record oil production and construction output, boy those nasty sanctions are really having an effect. 0.5 % deficit, they must be laughing at us. He admits to problems and does not run away from them or blame them on George Bush. Speaks extemporaneously at great length. Looks at the sanctions as an opportunity to develop there own production to fill in where the sanctions have left voids. EU is going to screw itself on this one. I didn’t watch all 4 hours, but it is worth watching the first 15 to 20 minutes.

He talks about monetizing debt. and future benefits and economic growth, cross referencing the size of the US debt and the European debt, and worries how this debt will affect the economy as a whole. Interesting insight and depth of knowledge. I would guess that if you asked Obama about the Russian national debt you would get some bumbling, mumbling non answer answer.

There are a lot of things not to like about Obama, but there are some things to admire:
1) He despises Netanyahu.
2) He has taken on the Israel lobby and the neocons with the Iran negotiations.
Kudos to Putin for finally approving the transfer of S-300 “Buk” missiles to Iran. It is a move long overdue. According to the Iranians, they have reverse engineered, and improved this air defense system from a few S-300’s acquired from Belarus, but they are a few years away from deployment, assuming they even exist. Iran has a recent history of making dubious claims about their military technology.

I miss my youth, riding down the biggest hill in town, helmet-less (my gawd I would have gotten my ass kicked for even owning a helmet for my bike, only the “special” kids had those), hand less.
Learning to steer through curves on a too large for me 10-speed, with no hands, just leaning into it.
Truly, I hate this “might happen” culture I am surrounded with. How much longer before ALL pools have to be outlawed because someone “might,” or did, drown.
Next up, no bathtubs, after all hundreds of Americans are hurt and killed in bathtubs every year and you “might” drown.
