Four Swedish Cops on Vacation in NYC Teach the NYPD a Lesson in Humanity

We’ve all seen the stats by now. U.S. police killed more citizens in March alone than UK police have killed in 100 years. We’ve seen the plethora of videos documenting unnecessary police brutality. There are so many in fact, I can’t even begin to document them all. We’ve also seen the militarized police in all its ghoulish display in Ferguson.

We’ve seen the wrong way to police in New York City, most recently when an unarmed Eric Garner was choked to death on the street in broad daylight for selling untaxed cigarettes. Now, finally, we see how real policing is supposed to be done, courtesy of four Swedish police officers who were on vacation in NYC.

First, a little background from the Free Thought Project:

New York, NY–  Four Swedish police officers vacationing in New York City were on the subway on Wednesday when a fight broke out. The train operator asked if there were any police riding who could help with the situation.  The Scandinavian patrolmen were very soothing and non-aggressive as they de-escalated the situation instead of escalating it, the way we have seen so often from our own men and women in blue.

After separating the aggressor off of the victim, the officers kept the aggressor detained in an arm lock while attempting to calm him using non-threatening voices and a soothing hand on the back.

“Take it easy, just relax, everything is going to be okay,” one of the officers tells the detained man while he frantically screamed that he couldn’t breathe. This seemed to calm him, and the officer asked if he was injured with a kind and gentle hand on his back. The officer seemed genuinely concerned about his well being.

There was no violence; there was no threat of violence, no cursing or racist remarks. The officers acted as professionals, even while off-duty and on vacation. It is easy to see that these officers were not out to bully or harm anyone and that they were simply trying to make sure that nobody was hurt.

Now, watch the video for yourself.

*Warning: The following video may cause bouts of disorientation and confusion to the American viewer due to the bizarre and unusual display of compassion and humanity by police officers, as well as the shocking ability to defuse a situation without someone getting pummeled or killed.

Meanwhile, this is what often happens when you call the cops in America:

What a goofy comparison.

1. The dude was yelling “I can’t breathe” he could have very well had a heart attack and totally messed up the comparison.

2. Have you seen our cops? HO Lee chit, the fat fuckers could do little more than get their asses kicked. Why do you think they became Cops? They got their butt’s kicked repeatedly as kids and figured a gun and a badge would stop that shit. Wrestle someone to the ground, are you kidding me?
Where’s the onion, gotta be an onion somewhere.

NOT trying to defend the NYPD – they can do that themselves – but Garner didn’t die from a ‘choke-hold’ – he died from a heart attack. Did the briefly applied hold contribute to that, perhaps so but being in extremely poor health with numerous known medical issues and waaaay overweight is what did him in. Saying that he was choked to death is almost as bad as the ‘hands up don’t shoot’ mantra.

Absolutely Correct. You WIN

My point exactly, if the same two Swedish dudes had Fat ass Garner down on the ground he still would have had the MI, the dude was a heart attack waiting to happen.
Notice the video doesn’t show how they put the guy down. I’m sure they politely asked him to lay face down on the floor and he was compliant. Bullshit. Every take down I’ve ever witnessed is violent.

Right on Zarathustra. NYPD had absolutely no right to harass, choke and kill a man for being an entrepreneur. The guy was minding his own fucking business, selling his personal property.
Just WTF!? What ever happened to the right to be left the fuck alone? Economic freedom is the cornerstone of liberty!
That these assholes go out of there way to denigrate a victim of state sanctioned violence speaks volumes as to why we live in such a repressive, tyrannical state.

Man selling boot-leg single cigarettes is choked to death by a 75,000 year undercover cigaretter enforcement officer makes perfect sense. Only in a police state would you make this activity illegal.

The Michigan guy also was accused of having drugs, found after a swarm of officers “searched” his car. He is very lucky the video came out (cop dashcam) because otherwise he would be doing hard time for resisting arrest, assault on a cop and drug possession. The nearly worthless Kim Worthy, head of the Wayne County Prosecutors, is rightly running the hell away from this and the Inkster Cops made up fantasies on their incident reports. Charges against him were dropped and now the lawsuit begins. Which will be freaking TERRIFIC for my business and house taxes. I may live miles and miles away from this crap, but it is in my county and once again, I’ll be the one paying. Plus the pensions and salaries of the stupid, overzealous, violent cops.

The reason these takedowns are violent is BECAUSE of the police behavior is many, way too fucking many, cases.

Statist defenders are going to be in for rude awakenings someday. Either in this life, or the next, they should plan accordingly.

I’ll be busy atoning for taking a sick delight in knowing what is coming their way.

Man us humans are flawed.

Sooooo, the black guys laid down and put their arms in a hammer lock voluntarily. Anti -cop article not showing the whole story, How did those guys get onto the floor into submission holds?

Should have just let them alone and maybe they would have culled the herd.

Stucky a couple of observations on your pic, which is unique, very unique.

Most likely the dude didn’t die from a loss of blood. He has at least one, possibly two, blades directly in the heart muscle which would have killed him instantly and stopped the Olé blood pump. There’s really not much blood on the ground compared to what you would see at the scene of an arterial bleed with the heart left in intact to do its work.
Just sayin.

The little guy has been regulated out of making a living. So the try to make it by bending/breaking the rules, which puts them right in the cross hairs of the police.

Using this reasoning, John Adams – the Founding Father John Adams, the man referred to as “The Colossus of Liberty” by a personage no less than Thomas Jefferson – should have had his head split open because he was smuggling.

Not smuggling because it was illegal. He was smuggling to avoid paying the outrageous taxes the Crown levied upon what he was smuggling – booze. John Adams was a tax evader, aided and abetted by his cousin, Sam Adams.

If he imported his rum and whatever, and paid the taxes, nobody could afford it. Which means nobody would buy it. Which means he would be very shortly out of business.

We celebrate these men today. But condemn people who do the exact same thing as they did – sell goods without paying the King his shilling, which is state enforced extortion…

Hey bb? Why do you think the colonials used a pine tree as the main symbol on their battle flag? Because it looked cool?

What a fucking retard..

I’m not defending all the outrageous cop violence we all know about, but when American cops do the same kind of thing these Swedish guys did, it never makes the news. It happens all the time and it’s not news because that’s what the cops are SUPPOSED to do. Only when they are way out of line does it hit the national media. And these Swedish cops have NO police powers in the US. Can’t wait to see if some enterprising NYC lawyer drags their asses back here from Sweden 9 months from now with a subpoena for a civil rights lawsuit. Because, what legal right do they have to put their hands on someone (besides what they did being the right thing to do)?

The train operator asked if there were any police riding who could help with the situation.

Well, technically, the Swedish cops were not wrong.

The conductor asked if there were any police riding who could help…

They didn’t specifically say American police… so the Swede cops have no dog in that fight with regards to a potential Snivel Rights lawsuit… the city does, being as the conductor was and is an employee of the city transit authority and wasn’t specific enough with his request…

Then there’s the whole “delegation of authority” thing, whereby the powers of the state – and their agents – are derived from the consent of the governed. Which means the average citizen has the exact same powers as any police officer…

So there’s that.

In my neck of the woods the cops are closer to andy gfiffith than not. But crime here is low, and mostly single car collision dwi. I think cops go nut crazy when they are in higher crime areas. Like ongoing military style ptsd. But wtf do I know. I have lots of ex military and police friends.
