9 Dead Black Church Folk = Hate Crime

I need to go to my parent’s house very shortly. Some quick thoughts;

1)  This truly is a tragedy.  People praying in church do not deserve to be shot.

2)  I wonder where the all-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful Creator was? I guess Da Lawd works in mysterious ways.

3) What the fuck is this “hate crime” bullshit?  The MSM whores are getting orgasms that is now now being classified as such.  Is there such a thing as a “love crime”?  Pure politically correct horseshit. But wait, there’s more ….

4)  They said this could be a case of … wait for it …. DOMESTIC TERRORISM!

5)  While it IS tragic … is it any more tragic than blacks killing whites in large numbers? I guess when 9 people are killed in one location we’ll now get 172 hours of non-stop coverage from CNN.  But when thousands of whites are raped and killed by blacks in thousands of separate  locations across America, well, that’s no big deal.

6)  Race wars are coming. This may or may not be the opening battle. Stock up on guns and bullets.

BLEEP. More than two possibilities. It could be that God is somehow doing the right thing in ways that we can’t understand – isn’t that what the Catholic Church always used to argue? It could be that God is an asshole. It could be that God is good and meddles, but isn’t all that powerful. It could be that there is more than one god and they fight with each other, or work at cross purposes. Heck, it could even be that God exists, and meddles, and has plenty of power, but just isn’t very competent. Maybe he’s responsible for IKEA too. There’s probably dozens more possibilities as well. Get yourself out of the bipolar thinking rut.

I sincerely must apologize, Mars…I mistook you for a typical angry moron, but now I can see you are genuinely batshit insane. Take heart…the nice men in white coats will be in soon to give you your benzidrene and shackle you gently into bed.

I will take on Stucky’s challenge.

This is a powerful question asked down through the ages, where is God when suffering or evil comes? Let’s turn the question around a bit and indeed challenge God for justice, in this horrific crime and other forms of evil.

We are however now on very dangerous ground because we need to think through what we are truly asking for, God to intervene to stop and judge wrongdoing. That means right here right now if we truly want justice for all we would all be dead instantly, each and every last one of us as none of us met the standard we are asking God to judge by.

God, the Father, would love to take the reins and direct the world, but we ignore Him in our politics, we ignore Him in our faith, we ignore Him in our lives. We ignore Him every time we turn on the television or get on the computer. We ignore Him when we drive down the road. We ignore Him until something tragic happens, and then we stop ignoring Him and start blaming Him. It’s time for us to take the blame and realize that we’re the ones that have failed. We’re the ones that have ignored God, and kept Him from transforming us, so that our lives are built on love and grace and peace, not on hate and anger and violence.

When we think we deserve to escape the “bad things,” we deny the fact that every second we are alive and every breath we take is only by the grace and mercy of God, who restrains Himself from giving us what we truly deserve. God is long suffering wanting no one to miss out on the opportunity to reconcile ourselves to him and seek to restore our relationship with him.

I would encourage you to read the book of Job who challenged God in his own personal suffering and when God’s holines was revealed to Job he almost came apart at the seams at the profound depth of God’s sovereignty in our world.

@DS, you are clearly well versed in meaningless sophistry. The victims here were IN CHURCH ON A WEEKNIGHT. That doesn’t exactly sound like people who have ignored or distanced themselves from God.

You go on to say that “God is long suffering wanting no one to miss out on the opportunity to reconcile ourselves to him and seek to restore our relationship with him.” Apparently the 9 dead here either had done enough to get to know God, or God doesn’t give even first chances, much less second chances. So, should I interpret this to mean that God is not giving people much of a chance, or that once you establish a relationship with God he’s going to quickly have you killed so you can meet him more directly?

Should I therefore assume that anyone alive today has not been sufficiently pious in their life to date?

Try again, with the explanation of why these pious churchgoers were shot and killed.

Nice post, DS. You’ll get no points or recognition but it’s comforting to know some folks are still sane in this crazy world.

DS

Thanks El Coyote,

Boy Persnickety completely missed my point. If we want justice we best understand what that justice demands from all of us. My point had nothing to do with where on their own spiritual path these church goers where.

1. Yes.

2. If you bothered to read the white bible once in a while, you’d see that DS is not engaging in meaningless sophistry or ay sophistry at all but sharing bible teaching.

That’s why we can watch movies, because we can suspend disbelief. But one has to come back to terra firme – reality. One must believe in something, or drift along in a sea of doubt. @Stucky… I wrote a story one time and named the antagonist Job. When my editor asked why “Job?” I told her that Job is the scariest dude in the Bible.

Tommy

Stucky, I’ll write anything I please. You’re just another guy posting stories on happy shit here, gloom or there, and something in between depending upon what mood you’re in. Fine. As long as keep the fuck away from meaningless swipes at God, anything nice about government unions, and absolutely….under no circumstances, and baby boomer ‘we’re fucking great’ stories…………..it’ll be better.

Been here for about…..three years, maybe knocking on four? Just like an ignorant fuck to find fault in a factor as that…not ‘being here as long as you’ as evidence or proof of seniority, just beyond dumb man. So let me tell you something you old grizzled boomer fuck, you’d damn well better hope for new blood around here. Otherwise we’ll go around in circles whilst you wax poetic about fond remembrances and bitter realities that just occur to you now, today. We need a fuck of alot more X’ers and millenials posting to get a view of the future while you offer snapshots of yesteryear. Do you dream in black and white too?

Censorship? fuck you cry baby. You don’t know what the word means apparently. Crawl back into your narcissistic glory days hole and go to your happy place. It ain’t all about you anymore.

Got that? It ain’t all about you. Didn’t think so.

Tommy
Tommy

You’re right about some new posters, and to some extent me. I don’t post much because I don’t know what more can be said about where we’re headed. Certainly more, but from my vantage point – I see little left of substance other than an ever increasing incredulous factor of the next topic or permutation of current events. I also don’t like to research stuff for one piece, which is a required when writing for a large audience to be taken seriously. Me, I read and learn and post what I know based on that – to people like you, boomers like you, thats not enough. The only thing I’ve picked up on from you after all you’ve written is Himalayan salt. Thats it. But its one more than you’ve learned from me maybe, so who knows. You’ve got time to do your research too – pension, social security, etc., right? I don’t. You confuse posts counts, length, and quantity to superiority, wisdom, and domain. Get me on a topic I care about, which means I know about – I’ll win that argument. Otherwise, I’m happy to read, contribute, and support TBP. But this ‘lord of the manor’ shit you’ve got going on…..fuck that.

I’m no zealot, but see no good coming from attacking a groups beliefs. You, you have no beliefs – so everythings fair game. Then all of a sudden….Stucky comes up with lines not to be crossed? Fuck that again. Guys like you have fragile egos, on sites like this they bruise easily – and only seem to heal when others go first come ‘lets be friends’ time. Its not you, its your narcissistic generation – and you’re not getting your way anymore. You may not like that I don’t write articles in the same way I consider you a nihilist who has more than once announced, and I’m generalizing here, that you won’t fight a hopeless fight. As an X’er or ‘nomad’, I will – plus I’ve got kids. Maybe that all makes sense, or maybe I’m dumb, or maybe you’re just a big pussy. Who knows. I’m sure you think you do.

It’s a legitimate question! People IN A CHURCH … praying TO GOD … one assumes God must have been aware, listening, and watching …. yet, he does nothing (he never does, does he?) ………… and I want to know, WHERE WAS GOD?

Or, are you in that brainwashed group where questioning God is strictly verboten?

BTW … neither you, nor anyone else even attempted to answer that question. Not that it matters, cuz you really don’t know, do ya? – Stucky

Of course I don’t know. Don’t be a sphincter.

Omnipotent being creates the universe, and I’m supposed to know His mind? And when I don’t – can’t – you blame me and everyone else?

Sphincter.

Uh huh… might as well ask a worm what I’m thinking right now…

I don’t attempt to answer the question because it has no answer. Of course questioning the Almighty is not verboten… I never said anything of the sort, so stop making shit up and attributing it to me. You have no idea that I’ve had a crisis of faith. That I’ve raged – full volume, no filters – at God in his own house and challenged Him straight up – until I went hoarse and lost my voice… I would have stormed Heaven in my folly, if I could have. Just to get answers.

Nope. No answers. God didn’t show up and say “Hey, glad you called… here’s the deal…” or even “Oh? You wanna go, tough guy? Here, lemme set this down, first…”

Why not? Not my call. He can say “No” as easily as “Yes.. or nothing at all.

You were soapboxing… your position is “Absence of evidence is evidence of absence” because the Almighty didn’t intervene and crush that asshole like a bug. God doesn’t show up on call like you’re ordering a fucking pizza… the hubris and arrogance needed even to ask such a thing… and yeah, I’m guilty of it, too… my shit stinks as much as anyone’s.

I thought you were smarter than that, especially given the background you cited. Getting mad at me for belling the cat won’t do you any good.

I suck as a Christian – and I know it. Doesn’t make me a hypocrite. It makes me human. I just don’t use tragedy to attempt at advancing my own personal agenda – yeah, I’m looking at YOU Stucky… there’s some shit that not even I will stoop to.

I often think of this line from the book of job:

Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.
4 “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone—

Not so much, anymore, but I used to want answers. DEMAND answers. Like I was something special. I’m not saying that God was speaking to me, per se, but those verses from job always rang true. We don’t get the opportunity to quiz God about his comings & goings. He does what he wants.

(Personally, I’ve come to the conclusion Zara noted: I don’t think he interacts in the affairs of humans. But I could be wrong.)

@Stuck – funniest bit of blasphemy I’ve ever heard.

As to the rest, I will speak only on the “new blood” comment. It seems like we are growing daily (goofyfoot also made a nice debut recently). I myself am rather a newbie but I already feel part of the family, In just a short time have been harassed, embrace, bitch-slapped and occasionally even taken seriously. I do seem to be one of the few Gen-Xer’s here (by age alone, I have never really seemed to fit in with my generation) just as Stephanie seems to be one of the very few millennials???

I am slowly, painfully, still working on some original content…my heart has just not been in it these past few weeks, probably the worst ones of my life. I do have the basic framework in place and it has never really left my thoughts.

Lastly, we all come here to escape the bullshit reality of MSM media and party politics. We come to vent and we come express our extreme displeasure with the state of our culture, our country and our world. Naturally, it gets heated. It should. We have plenty of reasons to be pissed off. But we are all on the same side here, the side of liberty and of truth.

Peace.

Tim…I kinda’ agree with you . When people would say God has a plan for you have a bit of a problem with that . I’ve always felt that God had the same plan for everyone, that is salvation through his son Jesus . However that being said I do believe God answers prayers…he answered mine when I was sick and felt like I was at deaths door. He gave me exactly what I asked for within hours .
