Bernie Sanders … Worse Than Obama, Hillary, and Krugman, Combined?

Bernie is a Senator from Vermont who has made self-proclamations that he is the most Progressive (read, Liberal/Socialist) member of CONgress. Honestly, prior to today, I couldn’t tell you much more than that about him.

He is drawing huge crowds. So, I wanted to know more about him. I didn’t consult any opinions about him. Rather, I went directly to the source, Bernie’s website; http://www.sanders.senate.gov/agenda/

I think it’s important to know who he is. I do not buy into the idea that he has “no chance” for the nomination. Eight years ago a no-name, no-accomplishment, black (well, half-black) state senator from Illinois dropped out of the sky, and became the leader of America. Anything can happen … including Bernie being the next POTUS.

So, who is this guy? The green italic quotes below are directly from Bernie’s web page titled; “AGENDA FOR AMERICA: 12 Steps Forward”. I appreciate that the man is telling you exactly who he is. Seriously, that’s refreshing from a politician. Just like “Mein Kampf” was when Adolf wrote it. As you read what Bernie has planned for America ask yourself these three simple questions for each platform;

—- Will this make the government bigger or smaller / more, or less, powerful?

—- How will this affect our enormous debt?

—- WHO will pay for this?

I will make brief comments in blue.

 =============================================================== =

  1. Rebuilding Our Crumbling Infrastructure — We need a major investment to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure: roads, bridges, water systems, waste water plants, airports, railroads and schools. It has been estimated that the cost of the Bush-Cheney Iraq War, a war we should never have waged, will total $3 trillion by the time the last veteran receives needed care. A $1 trillion investment in infrastructure could create 13 million decent paying jobs and make this country more efficient and productive. We need to invest in infrastructure, not more war.

We certainly do have a crumbling infrastructure that certainly does need repairing. The first problem is that Obama already tried this, and it went nowhere. Yeah, let’s try it again! The second problem is Bernie-math. One trillion dollars producing thirteen million jobs comes to $77k per job. This is pure bullshit. It costs somewhere in the range of $120,000 to $150,000 for the private sector to create a job. It’s much, much worse when government “creates” jobs. The CBO has shown that under Obama’s stimulus bill – actually written by Nancy Pelosi – it cost anywhere from $540,000 to $4,100,000 for each job created!! Lastly, Bernie wants you to believe that he can divert one trillion dollars from the defense budget to the building-stuff budget. This is quite laughable yet, it make a nice sound bite and the nation’s sheep believe it.

  1. Reversing Climate Change — The United States must lead the world in reversing climate change and make certain that this planet is habitable for our children and grandchildren. We must transform our energy system away from fossil fuels and into energy efficiency and sustainable energies. Millions of homes and buildings need to be weatherized, our transportation system needs to be energy efficient and we need to greatly accelerate the progress we are already seeing in wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and other forms of sustainable energy. Transforming our energy system will not only protect the environment, it will create good paying jobs.

First, mankind generated climate change is FAR from settled. Falsified data, insufficient data, bribed scientists, Big Business coercion, and dozens of other factors should make any thinking person – pro or anti climate supporter alike – take a long deep pause before literally hundreds of billions of dollars are spent just weatherizing millions of homes and businesses. Second, it will not create jobs. Bernie has succumbed to the “broken window” fallacy. Well, make that the “weather-stripped window” fallacy. Third, it will further destroy the nuclear industry and what’s left of the coal industry. Last and most importantly, it doesn’t matter! China and India alone have 2.5 billion people …. and lots and lots of polluting industry. Anyone with half a brain knows that unless those two countries participate, that whatever the USA does won’t amount to a hill of beans. Not that China and India cooperating would have any effect anyway, but neither country has shown any willingness whatsoever to participate in reducing global warming.

  1. Creating Worker Co-ops — We need to develop new economic models to increase job creation and productivity. Instead of giving huge tax breaks to corporations which ship our jobs to China and other low-wage countries, we need to provide assistance to workers who want to purchase their own businesses by establishing worker-owned cooperatives. Study after study shows that when workers have an ownership stake in the businesses they work for, productivity goes up, absenteeism goes down and employees are much more satisfied with their jobs.

Worker co-ops sound OK. If not, feel free to correct me.   Bernie’s error is in regards to corporate tax breaks — ALWAYS a favorite whipping boy for every politician before being elected into office, and then forgotten after getting elected. Nevertheless, I have a suspicion that ‘corporate tax rates’ are just a canard. I don’t believe corporations pay taxes … not like you and I do. They simply pass the “tax” to the consumer. The main reasons corporations go overseas? —  1) cheap labor and, 2) less regulations. You’ll see that Bernie will make the cheap-labor issue even worse, and he has nothing to say about burdensome business regulations.

  1. Growing the Trade Union Movement —Union workers who are able to collectively bargain for higher wages and benefits earn substantially more than non-union workers. Today, corporate opposition to union organizing makes it extremely difficult for workers to join a union. We need legislation which makes it clear that when a majority of workers sign cards in support of a union, they can form a union.

Bernie is still living in the early 1900s. Everything he says and believes about unions is wrong. All I want to point out here is that you can see the deep extent of his anti-liberty stance … wanting to pass laws (punishable by heavy fines and prison, no doubt) telling businesses and workers what they can or cannot do. Again and again you will be tuned in to Bernie’s favorite TV show; “Government Knows Best”

  1. Raising the Minimum Wage — The current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour is a starvation wage. We need to raise the minimum wage to a living wage. No one in this country who works 40 hours a week should live in poverty.

Notice he is not saying to increase the minimum wage to $12/hr. or another number. He is saying everyone should have a LIVING WAGE. If you’re not horrified by this, go get an EKG and check if you have brain waves. What’s the living wage in San Francisco? $75,000? So, every burger flipper or maid or bartender or other totally unskilled worker should make $37/hr??? What will Bernie tell us to do when a Big Mac costs $40?

  1. Pay Equity for Women Workers — Women workers today earn 78 percent of what their male counterparts make. We need pay equity in our country — equal pay for equal work.

Pander, pander, pander! I worked most of my life in the computer industry. Even back in the 1980s I know for a damned fact that the woman programmers and men programmers at North American vanLines were equally paid. Same for my time at Hewlett Packard. The rest of my time was spent in sales. Sales is an equal-opportunity payer – work hard / make money, sit on your ass / make no money. Yes, I am certain that women are not paid equally in every industry. But, that’s all beside the point! Remember my three questions I posed in the intro? Here, yet again, GOVERNMENT IS THE SOLUTION for Bernie. More government, more intervention, more laws, more punishments … in every single area of life.

  1. Trade Policies that Benefit American Workers — Since 2001 we have lost more than 60,000 factories in this country, and more than 4.9 million decent-paying manufacturing jobs. We must end our disastrous trade policies (NAFTA, CAFTA, PNTR with China, etc.) which enable corporate America to shut down plants in this country and move to China and other low-wage countries. We need to end the race to the bottom and develop trade policies which demand that American corporations create jobs here, and not abroad.

No argument here. I believe Bernie even voted against TPP.

  1. Making College Affordable for All — In today’s highly competitive global economy, millions of Americans are unable to afford the higher education they need in order to get good-paying jobs. Further, with both parents now often at work, most working-class families can’t locate the high-quality and affordable child care they need for their kids. Quality education in America, from child care to higher education, must be affordable for all. Without a high-quality and affordable educational system, we will be unable to compete globally and our standard of living will continue to decline.

Let’s understand what Bernie means by “affordable”. He means TOTALLY FREE. Yes, by his own words he is on record for saying he will introduce legislation to make college free for anyone and everyone wanting it. (I wonder if that includes illegals.) So, in Bernie’s New America; professors, assistants, janitors, lawn cutters, secretaries, administration, and every other college employee will work for free. If a heating unit needs to be replaced it will appear from nowhere. Same goes for computers and every other capital good needed by the college. What? I’m wrong? Oh … you mean OTHER PEOPLE will pay for it? Oh, OK then!

  1. Taking on Wall Street — The function of banking is to facilitate the flow of capital into productive and job-creating activities. Financial institutions cannot be an island unto themselves, standing as huge profit centers outside of the real economy. Today, six huge Wall Street financial institutions have assets equivalent to 61 percent of our gross domestic product – over $9.8 trillion. These institutions underwrite more than half the mortgages in this country and more than two-thirds of the credit cards. The greed, recklessness and illegal behavior of major Wall Street firms plunged this country into the worst financial crisis since the 1930s. They are too powerful to be reformed. They must be broken up.

Pander, pander, bullshit, pander. I’m too lazy to look up Bernie’s record regarding fighting Wall Street. I have a suspicion it’s not all that good. Anyway, this is pure political grandstanding. Attacking Wall Street sells, baby! Everyone does it. The reality today is that NO PRESIDENT can successfully “take on” Wall Street. All the POTUS can do is stick needles in the Squid and annoy it … when what is needed is to absolutely kill it. Bernie doesn’t have the courage to do this, or even to tell you the truth about it. You know what we call presidents who piss off Wall Street? Assassinated.

  1. Health Care as a Right for All —The United States must join the rest of the industrialized world and recognize that health care is a right of all, and not a privilege. Despite the fact that more than 40 million Americans have no health insurance, we spend almost twice as much per capita on health care as any other nation. We need to establish a Medicare-for-all, single-payer system.

The Bill Of Rights state the rights of Americans. Health Care is not one of them. In Bernie’s World, Bernie gives rights. Bernie takes rights. Bernie is God. BernieCare is worse than Obamacare on steroids. He is on record as saying that he wants a singlepayer system. Hide your wallets! Make out your will! Get a passport! And then kiss your ass goodbye …

  1. Protecting the Most Vulnerable Americans — Millions of seniors live in poverty and we have the highest rate of childhood poverty of any major country. We must strengthen the social safety net, not weaken it. Instead of cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and nutrition programs, we should be expanding these programs.

I’m running out of steam here folks. Fortunately, it’s getting easier pointing out the deeply flawed Bernie. Just look at the last three words … he wants to EXPAND social security, Medicare, etc. … the very programs (among other factors) that are bankrupting America. Bernie will NEVER run out of OPM.

  1. Real Tax Reform — At a time of massive wealth and income inequality, we need a progressive tax system in this country which is based on ability to pay. It is not acceptable that major profitable corporations have paid nothing in federal income taxes, and that corporate CEOs in this country often enjoy an effective tax rate which is lower than their secretaries. It is absurd that we lose over $100 billion a year in revenue because corporations and the wealthy stash their cash in offshore tax havens around the world. The time is long overdue for real tax reform.

Sigh. Here we go again. More pandering bullshit. One simply can NOT “reform” a system that is so horribly convoluted, broken, an unfair. Say “No” to reform. Say “Yes” to abolishment. Bernie won’t do that, ever. You know what you should do when you hear the words “based on ability to pay”? You should move to Australia. Bernie is so dishonest. Surely he must realize there aren’t enough CEO’s in this country to even make a dent in the deficit/debt even if he confiscated 100% of their assets. Bernie will complete the destruction of the middle class. The rich will never pay their fair share of taxes. They are rich. They have lawyers and accountants. They have and will get away with “stashing their cash”. It’s a fact of life, so deal with it. And the poor? They don’t have cash to pay taxes. They pay little to no income tax. Who does that leave?? The Middle Class. Bernie’s above programs, if enacted, will cost trillions. You pay. But, don’t worry. Soon, you’ll be poor, you’ll get a lot of Free Shit, and someone else will pay.

=============================================================== =

Soooo, why are people so enthusiastic about Bernie? Well, watch the video below titled; “In 180 Seconds You Will Be Voting For Bernie Sanders”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=rtBVuye4fZQ

Here’s this old man, which symbolizes dignity and wisdom … so unlike the very un-presidential Obama. He speaks with controlled, yet vigorous, passion … so unlike that shrieking bat from hell, Hillary. He comes across as honest, and as a man with integrity … so un-politician like. He has time for folksy stories about his past, his grandkids, etc. The Jews would say; “He’s a Mensch!”.

Basically, he knows how to work a crowd. How does one work a crowd? The “secret” is amazingly simple; you tell them what they WANT to hear. That’s all there’s to it. Lather up their emotions. Bankers are evil. “Hell yeah!!”, screams the mob. Tax cheating Corporations. “Hell yeah!!” Your health care is a RIGHT. “Hell yeah!!”  You’re working too hard and getting’ nowhere. “Hell yeah!!”  You deserve mo’ money. “Hell yeah!!” Your education should be free like in other countries. “Hell yeah!!”

What’s not to like, right? But, Bernie lovers are being fleeced and don’t even know it. BTW, their fleecing is a willful decision, because Bernie spelled out his future for America for all to see.

And that future is one almost too horrible to contemplate. His programs will literally cost trillions. The people will give up liberty for security. The government will get bigger, and ever more powerful, and that can only lead to suffering and death in the long run. If Bernie is elected, within a year billboards of Obama will appear with the caption “Miss me yet?”.

I have this sinking feeling that WHOMEVER is the next elected President, that that person will preside over the Fall Of America. Our problems are so enormous, and the available people are so pathetic, that I’m not sure government’s favorite game of “kicking the can down the road” can last but a few more years, at best.  But, that “feeling” turns to certainty if Bernie is elected. You couldn’t find a worse candidate for president if you tried. For the love of God and country – just say “NO!”.

There was another kind, pleasant, older gentleman who ran for president in 2008 and 2012. Drew huge, enthusiastic crowds, even at liberal college campuses. Fellow by the name of Ron Paul. None of that translated into a groundswell of support or votes.

Same thing will happen to Sanders.

@Stucky: Nice how you ducked my question. Not voting? Such a GREAT idea to make the .01%’s goal even easier to reach.
@Stucky/Gator: Do some fucking research before you smear people, PLEASE?
From http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Bernie_Sanders#Iraq_War

Iraq War

Sanders voted against the resolution authorizing the use of force against Iraq in the fall of 2002 and opposed the subsequent invasion. He later joined almost all of his colleagues in voting for a non-binding resolution expressing support for U.S. troops at the outset of the invasion, although he gave a floor speech blasting the partisan nature of the resolution and the Bush administration’s actions in the run-up to the war.

“How you Europeans are allowing your countries to become overrun by mooslims bent on destroying your culture.” – well, you know what? In Germany, most of them, Turks, are really not that bad. I bought my last car (preowned) from a Turkish dealer and got a great deal. I have my hair cut in a small barber’s shop, where the owner, a young women of turkish descent, speaks perfect german and even has a german “Meisterbrief” as a Friseurmeisterin. And the Döner just around the corner where I work is a real treat. All in all, if I compare our muslimic Turks with your christian Blacks, I would rather not trade, believe me.

Of course, there are some troublemakers. But they will be taken care of, in time. Most of their attitude will wear off, about time. However, I concede to you that other countries in Europe have bigger troubles: France, UK, the Netherlands…mostly the former colonial powers, who have muslimic communities from North Africa, Pakistan or Asia, their former colonies. Well, the sins of the fathers, so to speak…

“And the Germans are pussies because you guys are nothing but a vassal state of the USA. We say jump … you jump. Your leaders have no balls – literally and figuratively – to stand up to the United States, to tell us to “go fuck yourself” when it’s in your interests. Nazi lovers are ruling and fighting in Ukraine yet Germans are locked in goose-step with the USA still blaming Russia for invading??!! Tell me you’re ashamed!”

Yes, I am ashamed. But what is there to do about it? Germany was literally an occupied country until 1990. So, in Germany, you will never be able to hold an important political post, or an important post within the media, without having sworn everlasting fealty to the US a hundred times before in your life since high school. (It is sort of the same as in the US with Israel, so to speak.)

But do not confuse our spitlicking politicians Merkel and Gauck with the populace or the leaders of the economy. Merkel is under very great pressure from the industrial associations for the “sanctions” against Russia. And within the political aware part of the population, there is a very strong sentiment against the US administration and oligarchy.

Concerning the vassals, you are right: UK always was Washingtons lapdog, the reason must be a sort of masochistic inferiority complex, for having lost their superpower status to you. France is just a shadow of the France of Charles de Gaulle.

But, after all, you have to see the reality: how many really sovereign nations exist today on the planet, except the US? There is Russia and China and Israel, for they have the capability and the WILL to deliver, if need be, nuclear weapons to every spot on the planet. They are the most sovereign countries.

UK and France have the same capability, but have not the will to be really sovereign.

India and Pakistan and North Korea are real sovereign, because they are at least able to defend themselves nuclear.

Who else is real sovereign? Cuba and Iran – they refuse to do the US’s bidding, but because they have no nukes, they pay a heavy economic price.

“Where does one persons “right” begin, and another person’s end? I say when that “right” comes at a cost or loss to the other person. In other words, if YOUR right to medical care costs ME thousands of dollars, then your right is nothing more than theft.”

Well, there is the culture divide – I wonder, does the word “solidarity” has any meaning in the US?

Sorry, I do not want to attack you for your values…but I was amazed when I saw “Breaking Bad”. A college Professor with lung cancer – and the health plan did not cover it???

Or when I read this:

http://www.spiegel.de/schulspiegel/schueler-spenden-krebskranker-direktorin-geld-fuer-behandlung-a-1035967.html

You see – as well as I would not see myself beggared for being unlucky developing cancer, I as well would not like to see my neighbour beggared if he were the unlucky one. That’s what insurance is for, right? And, mind you – I say this as someone who never was in the hospital in his life, and only had 14 days of sick leave in the last 28 years that I work. Well, I am lucky for being healthy…should I regret all the money that I paid for my insurance, obviously in vain?

@Soccer – well, I am not that interested in it, neither male nor female, but I remembered you are. I loved reading

Visitor from Germany, The USA doesn’t feel very sovereign of late. I think we’ve had 31 million immigrants (mostly illegal) in the last 20 years. Americans are very tolerant of immigrants for the most part. However, all reasonable immigration laws have been ignored. People are not screened for disease or criminal history. Whooping Cough (pertussis) and measles are becoming a problem despite being all but eradicated. Criminal illegal aliens are not tracked even after the commit crimes in the USA. They’re bringing in feral children by the trainload and then allowing their “parents” to join them later. This is certainly not the country I grew up in.

@Stucky – I live in the beautiful Ruhrgebiet, the former steel/coal powerhouse in the valley of the river Ruhr in Northrhine-Westphalia.

Thank you very much for complimenting about my English – no, I am neither an Expat nor brilliant.

I just took interest in the english language during high school („Gymnasium“) and worked on it ever since. Since I have a taste for english and american novelists, Stephen King, Terry Pratchett, P.T. Deutermann, George MacDonald Fraser, Lincoln/Preston et.al. – heck, for a time I was even a fan of Tom Clancy! – I took the of opportunity to read the original books without waiting fort the – mostly – bad translations, and even save money, because in Germany books are far more expensive than in the US/UK/Canada. Three cheers for Amazon.com! 😉

Well, concerning Muslims – there are troublemakers in Germany too, you know. The likes who go to the federal constitutional court for their „right“ to wear a hijab at their workplace, for example, just to have an opportunity to rub their religion in everyone elses face. The sort of people who like to make a nuisance of themselves. And there are some very primitve, stupid muslim youths, offspring of primitive muslim parents.

Well, both types of people exist in the german and every other populace too – you just have to live with it. As I said, the vast majority of the muslims in Germany are quite ok, considering the circumstances, and one can see the „turkishness“ rubbing off, slowly, from the second and third generation. Why do we have less problems than other countries? I don’t know – maybe, because we have more work for them.

Concerning insurance – well, I follow the coverage about Obamacare long enough to see what an utter and complete nightmare it is and will become in the future. However – from my, german, point of view, even your existing healtcare system with your HMOs is a complete and utter nightmare. Did you ever see Michael Moore’s „Sicko“? I was absolutely amazed to see what the HMO’s are allowed to get away with! I mean, offering to provide a deaf girl with an implant for only ONE ear, because “a two-ear implant would be experimental”?

Well, as you know, in Germany we have mostly government health insurance…and for the most part, it works very well. At least, I never heard about people dying after waiting 18hrs before an emergency room.

Yes, you sounded like a cold-hearted bastard, but from your posts here I knew that you really aren’t, so I called you out about it. I do know that the remaining middle class is under tremendous stress in the US. And I am aware about the debt/deficit issues…but a country who still can spend about a trillion $ per year on the military and waging wars and droning people is certainly not poor.

What I do not understand are the US people’s priorities: the people fear to die in a terrorist attack – ok, that would be horrible, but the chances are what? 1:10,000,000? If the chances to die from a treatable, but untreated disease are 1:10,000, I would rather worry about that, wouldn’t you?

“Germany was literally an occupied country until 1990.” ———— Visitor from Germany

„What happened in 1990? There are still 53,000 U.S. troops in Germany. Isn’t that an occupation?“ – Stucky

So there – you concede, that Germany is, de facto, still an occupied country. But on your prior posts you call us „vassals“ and chastise us for not standing up to our US overlords? How does that fit?

I mean – you are right. Germany is not a sovereign country. If asylum in Germany would be offered to Edward Snowdon and he were stupid enough to take it, I would give him two weeks before he would vanish in a black van, on the public street and in broad daylight, to resurface in Guantanamo, if ever. These are the facts.

I equalize sovereignty to a great part with the capability to enforce your decisions, if need be. And your neocon oligarchs share my opinion, don’t they?

„Will Germany EVER say — “OK, thanks for everything America. But, we don’t need your soldiers on our land anymore. You need to leave within five years.”?“ – Stucky

So, what would your MIC say? Does „Well – m a k e us leave…“ sound a likely answer?

@Bea Lever – „Your day will come friend, keep loving those Turks. Mooslims are here to be our friends…………..right !“

I did not say that I love them. Neither that I want/need to befriend them. Believe me, as far as I am concerned, I would not ever have let them into Germany. However, since they are here and for the most part unlikely to leave, we have to cope with somehow. And, as I said: Those I have met so far, were/are quite ok.

@Stucky – „What do you, and Germans in general, think of Sahra Wagenknecht.“

Hell, she is really, really great! Great orator, great intellect. One of the last really intellectuals in politics. I vote for her and her party, btw.

But her party ist he „Linkspartei“, the socialists. Radical leftists, pacifist. So, the german right-wing, oligarch press leaves no opportunity unused to fight her, her platform and her party. Btw, she is married to Oscar Lafontaine, a former Social Democrat politician, and a highly intelligent person too.

The german press will fight the Linkspartei all the way until people like her are replaced with docile, Left-in-name-only carrerists, who do the bidding oft he oligarchs. It is the same what the press did to the Greens from the mid-70s to the mid-90’s – the true, idealistic, pacifist Green movement was fought tooth and nail by the press, until the movement was slowly hijacked by career politicians without convictions whatsoever. THEN they were dubbed “regierungsfähig”, meaning “able to rule for the oligarchs”.

„Muslims …. their culture is NOT compatible with the Western world.“ – Stucky

Mmh. Now, since the peak achievements of the „culture oft he Western world“ as of today, July 14, 2015, seem to be Same-Sex marriage, LGBT-„Pride“(!)-Marches, „Walk a mile in her Shoes!“ and the like, I doubt that my culture too is really „compatible with the Western World“. Yours?

If you look back in history, it seems that the enmity between christendom and islam had more or less died down by the mid of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century, while the dying Ottoman Empire became more or less as secular as the West. And when the Ottoman Empire fell after WWI, Atatürk built a very secular state from the heartland of the former empire.

In my view it is not the Islam as such causing the problems with turkish, arab or north african immigrants in the economic and socially developed world, but the socially backward tribal/clannish societies they come from. It is the social culture to which they have difficulties to adapt in my view, more than the religion.

„Well, don’t believe everything you read. It’s not as good as some people say, neither is it as bad some people say … I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.“ – Stucky

Okay. Thank you for sharing your experiences. And thank you for your elaborate answer.

„Ummm … rebellion?“ – Stucky

Now comes to my mind: Chancellor Gerhard Schröder refused in 2002 to participate in the US invasion of Iraq! (Ok, the reason for this was that there were elections coming, and the war was very unpopular in Germany, but nevertheless.) The problem with Angela Merkel as with our President Gauck is, they are both former East-Germans (how could THAT happen???), and thus they are both rabidly russophobic and stoutly pro-US (that ass**** Gauck was even filmed getting tears in his eyes while listening to the US-anthem!!)

„Every empire fails eventually.“ – Stucky

That is true. But the fear that I have – and that you should have reason to share – is, that your neocon oligarchs have not the dignity to concede failure and step down in peace, as the leaders of the Soviet Union did. I fear they prefere to bring the world down with them, when the time comes.

„Sahra Wagenknecht for Chancellor 2017!!!“ – Stucky

I love the thought – I just imagine her and Putin carving out the cornerstones of a new European-Russian-Asian economic and security partnership. Now, would THAT be a nightmare for your oligarchs 😉 ?

(And as a sign of mutual trust, Germany will cede the territories of Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Masovian, Lodz, Lublin et al. to Russia, while Russia will grant the territories of Pomeranian, West Pomeranian, Lubusz, Lower Silesian et al. to Germany 😉 ) *rofl*

Btw, I read your account of your day at the beach in the `Murica-Thread. Liked it very much!

@Stucky – in Germany, we have this political joke, it is decades old, but always on point, if you vary it right. It goes like this:

Question: “When will Germany be back on track?”

Answer: “When Federal Chancellor on the funeral of asks the widow of : ‘By the way, do they already know who shot ?'”

So, as of today:

Question: “When will Germany be back on track?”

Answer: “When Federal Chancellor Sarah Wagenknecht on the funeral of Angela Merkel asks the widow of Sigmar Gabriel: ‘By the way, do they already know who shot Wolfgang Schäuble?'”

Maybe it would be an idea to put this question to the members of the forum? Example:

Question: “When will the U.S. be back on track?”
