Firefighters continue to battle blazes raging in forests and woodlands across California. Hundreds have been forced to flee their homes. California Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency, as 18 large wildfires burn through more than a dozen counties.

The Rocky Fire started Wed., and on Sat. it doubled in size in five hours. Clear Lake is not clear, but a good size lake and the towns around the lake are home to middle class retirees. The fire is 56,000 acres and threatens 6,000 plus homes.. The vegetation around Clear Lake is not of any valve, but burns like gun powered.
With humid weather this summer, Cal Fire has been lucky and has controlled most of the fires. It could be that their luck has run out with the Rocky Fire. 1900 plus fire fighters, 37 water tenders, 19 helicopters, 56 bulldozers,, and 4 C-130 air tankers. 12,000 people have been evacuated so far.
CA environmentalists don’t allow for clearing of older brush – it destroys the habitat of small creatures. Of course, all those creatures love the forest fires.
I wonder if you can go there and see liberals fleeing the burning wood and brush like the other wild animals.

One word: Lightning strikes, Santa Ana winds, arson.. Notice most of the wildfires occur in hills and mountainous areas, if you burn the vegetation there’s nothing to hold the wet soil and then you have mudslides.
