Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan
While perhaps too early for Democratic elites to panic and begin bailing out on Hillary Clinton’s campaign as a doomed vessel, they would be well advised not to miss any of the lifeboat drills.
For Hillary’s campaign is taking on water at a rate that will sink her, if the leakage does not stop, and soon.
Initially, the issue of Hillary and the emails she sent and received as secretary of state seemed too wonkish, too complex, too trivial a matter to sink a candidacy as strong as hers.
Her nomination was considered as assured as any since Vice President Richard Nixon ran unopposed in 1960.
But since it was revealed that as secretary of state she used a private server for her emails, located in her home in Chappaqua, the bleeding of public trust has been unabated.
Her tortured explanation as to why she installed her own server only raised suspicions. Her erasure of 30,000 “personal emails,” her initial refusal to turn her server over to State, her denials she ever received confidential information, her wiping of the server clean, her stonewalling, have all ravaged her reputation for truthfulness. And truthfulness was never Bill or Hillary’s long suit.
And the issue of Clintonian entitlement and privilege has arisen again.
For Hillary showed a casualness in handling the nation’s secrets that would have cost a civil servant at State, Defense or CIA his or her security clearance and job. And they would be facing charges and potentially jail time.
Indeed, now that Justice and the FBI have been called in to look at Hillary’s handling of state secrets, it is not impossible that at the end of this road lies a federal indictment.
Should that happen, her campaign and career would be over. And should that indictment come later rather than sooner, the Democratic Party could be headed into the election of 2016 led by a Brooklyn-born septuagenarian Socialist.
Every day that new revelations come about Hillary and her emails, and every week that passes between now and when the filing deadlines for the primaries begin to fall, this becomes a real possibility.
Again, the problem here for Hillary and the Democratic Party is that the investigators at Justice, the FBI, and in a hostile Congress and the media, are far from wrapping this up.
They all have their teeth in it, and they are not going away. And there is nothing Hillary can do to halt the investigations, or plug the leaks, or, it seems, to change the subject.
What, really, is the relevance of her $350 billion plan to get the super-rich to pay off student loans, if Hillary is being lawyered up?
The Democratic Party is approaching the fail-safe point.
If it appears that Hillary is headed for the knacker’s yard, then to whom do the Democratic elites turn, and, equally important, when do they move?
For they cannot wait too long.
Hence, a “Draft Biden” movement has begun, and veterans of President Obama’s campaigns are signing on.
Yet the vice president should think long and hard about whether and when he plunges into the Democratic race. For his announcement of availability would be a signal that Joe Biden thinks Hillary is politically dead, or close to it, and he is coming in to drop the hammer.
This would be seen as act of crass political opportunism, seizing upon Hillary’s travails, shouldering her aside, and seizing a nomination millions of Democrats have long believed was hers by right.
How would the millions of Democratic women who have looked forward to the first woman president respond to Biden’s barreling in and finishing her off? How enthusiastic would those women and feminists be for a Candidate Biden who had delivered the deathblow to Hillary and blocked for another decade any chance of a woman as president?
Joe would certainly be up for Chauvinist of the Year 2015.
And other problems would arise for a Biden candidacy.
Would Bill and Hillary Clinton be out there stumping to help Joe win the presidency, when both had dreamed of her having it?
Joe would have to beat Bernie Sanders and rout the Elizabeth Warren liberals. He would have to woo back the big contributors in the Jewish community who believe Barack Obama and John Kerry threw Israel and Bibi under the bus to cut a deal that empowers the world’s leading “state sponsor of terrorism.”
If Joe is having second thoughts about getting in, who can blame him?
As the old saw goes, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”
But for Democrats, such counsel comes too late. Hillary is carrying their basket of eggs, and slipping all over the sidewalk.
If they procrastinate in designating someone else to catch the basket if it falls, they get Bernie. But if they move too soon, they will be charged with sabotaging the last best chance for America to elect a woman president.
A nice problem for those ubiquitous cable TV talking heads who identify themselves as “Democratic strategists.”
Good! Here are a couple vids I was going to post today. The vid and comments are from

Watch Hillary Clinton Go Full On “Deer In Headlights” When Asked About Destroying Evidence…To say this is Nixonian in both tone and imagery is an understatement. Listen to the first question regarding the FBI now claiming Hillary Clinton (or someone working at her direction which she later confirms she was in charge) “…attempted to wipe the entire server.”
Here’s the video. This is a politician visibly rattled by what is unfolding around her – a house of cards very much of her own doing…
Here’s the second one.

Wanna See How Afraid Hillary Is Of The Email Scandal? Look No Further Than This Video…
Posted on August 15, 2015 by DCWhispers
This was a performance based almost entirely on the fear of what is coming at her as the investigation into the ongoing cover-up of her private email server intensifies day-by-day.
Remember, if not for the Benghazi investigation, we would likely never have known about that server and Mrs. Clinton’s illegal use of top secret information. Team Clinton destroyed evidence, wiped the server (the one she now boasts she handed over only after months of saying she would never do so) and if current rumors are true, appears to have been caught willfully destroying yet more evidence long after she was legally obligated to turn it over.
This is footage of a politician nearing an emotional brink from which they may never fully recover…

She’s a sociopath, and so is her old man.
I’ll say it again:
If stocks have topped and by June are deeply down, not only will she not get nominated, she could absolutely be headed to prison so certainly that Obama will UNDOUBTEDLY pardon her in advance to spare his Administration, his political party and the country the IGNOMINY of seeing a former First Lady do time in the Pen Fed.
Can we imagine the farce of Inmate Hillary and her Secret Service detachment?
Where’s the Onion, calling all satirists….
Maybe it pushes her to the brink and she gives herself a 12ga labotomy.
I like Buchanan…he generally tells it pretty straight….but do you notice how in all his analysis he never once mentions anything about who would be the best president for the PEOPLE? In fact, NO ONE DOES? It is all about political maneuvering, party strategy, PR, etc.
Sure, maybe it has ALWAYS been this way, throughout the entire history of democracy…BUT was it ever this blatant. Today’s politicians no longer even have to PRETEND to care about what is best for the people. Sure, maybe elections have always been a farce, but now we KNOW them to be a farce, the farce is clear for all to see…and still we (people en masse) don’t call bullshit???

Chappaqua and Chappaquiddick. Some interesting similarities don’t you think?
Democracy is sold as an improvement to autocracy (monarchy, oligarchy, etc.) but this remains unexamined (on purpose.)
When “the people” know up front that they can never rule, they tend to view their rulers with prudent suspicion. This actually provided a brake on the level of absolute power rulers wielded before the age of democracy.
Under democracy, everyone is encouraged to have a say. This brings out the little dictator in everyone. It also invites people to prey on their fellow citizens via voting for rulers who promise the most Gibsmedats.
Before you think this is an anti-black rant, gibsmedats include contracts for the F-35 which enrich the upper middle class food chain of that firm, and gibsmedats include Medicare and Medicaid, which are vast give-aways to all the people employed in the Medical industry.
Democracy thus produces a society of universal robbery. Everyone, rich, middle class or poor is busy using the political system to rob everyone else.
Eventually, the easy loot is already taken and squandered. Usually a democratic society then immediately moves to its next predictable condition (————–) while I’ll leave blank for a moment.
This time, however, the credit bubble and Great Asset Mania enabled “the people” to not just rob each other, but also to rob the capital system of everything needed to “make more stuff” for tomorrow.
Capital consumption is worse than robbery. It’s like robbers breaking into an important factory and setting it afire to cover up that they stole the money in the employee breakroom vending machines. The destruction of capital is orders of magnitude more destructive than the simple theft of money. It robs not just the present but the FUTURE.
Stocks appear to be finally rolling over. Maybe this is so, maybe not, but if they are, then we’ve reached the end of the credit bubble and Great Asset Mania.
We are about to see democracy turn from theft to cannibalism.
Where usually the shift to cannibalism occurs while productive capital is still somewhat protected, what we are about to witness is much more likely to resemble the catastrophe evolving in Venezuela, where a bunch of utter idiots are managing that sorry country into oblivion.
Democracy —> universal theft ——> cannibalism.
As predictable as night follows day.
PS: What comes after cannibalistic democracy? Dictatorship, which may well still be cannibalistic.
DRUD, people “en masse” are idiots. You know that.

Was This The Clinton’s ‘Wipe’?
I’m starting to warm up to the idea that the so-called “wipe” that Clinton did was something akin to wiping one’s butt. Specifically, in the Exchange/ActiveSync world (whether Microsoft’s code or otherwise), there is a command you can send from the management console that does this…
wipe -u USER Remote wipes all devices of user USER
This requests that the device be “wiped”, but the efficacy of that is up to the device. And, more to the point, it does very little on the server end. Oh to be sure it does delete the local storage, but “delete” is a rather soft word in the computer world, in that while it renders ordinary access impossible it does not actually overwrite any of the data nor render it unrecoverable by even modest forensic tools.
Let’s face facts here. Platte River, fingered as the company that was running Hillary’s email server, is a small operation — probably smaller than MCSNet, my former Internet company. It has one of those “cookie-cutter” web pages that looks flashy and says and does little.
In short they’re a little IT shop; nothing wrong with that, of course, but it’s hardly the sort of outfit that has the process and security infrastructure expected for a Secretary of State.
Bill Still has opined that he believes there is an industrial-grade backup regime out there somewhere for Hillary’s email server. I wouldn’t take that bet, but I would expect that there is a backup somewhere — just not of the sort of grade and security that Bill believes exists.
What we don’t know (and may never learn publicly) pertains to the details of what Platte River contracted to provide. You can buy virtually anything in terms of levels of resilience and support from firms such as this. It’s a good bet that if Hillary’s people were incapable (or “unwilling”) to do the job on their own, however, that at least modern “backup” was included — which means either nightly-copied or real-time mirrored data to a second facility.
There is one fly in the ointment for Hillary that is, however, extremely bad: Nobody from Platte River is likely to do anything that will lead to them being targeted with an indictment, and there’s no reason to believe they did anything wrong at all so they have no motivation to hide anything.
I used to get subpoenas and similar for things my customers were alleged to have done on a fairly regular basis. This may well be the first time Platte River has had that happen, but you can bet they talked to whoever does their corporate legal work and, if they didn’t already know how easily you can run afoul of an obstruction of justice charge, they do now. They have no stake in this of course other than the now-detonated contract for services, so I would expect they have hived off anything that might be responsive for a future “request” from the FBI — or anyone else — and now are interested in exactly one thing: Not being destroyed by uncompensated costs that come as a result of this debacle.
The problem with pulling something like what Hillary appears to have done is that if you’re not competent to manage all of it yourself, including the cleanup, you have to find people who are. The smart folks out there know that there’s no monetary compensation that “works” when the price of their services to you include 10 years in Club Fed as a side effect, so when you try to solicit those folks to take out your trash after the fact they tell you to bite it. This leaves available to you those who aren’t any good at what they do, and is why these sorts of “coverups”, unless one of the people who is already on the hook for the original act has the requisite expertise, tend to be done poorly and is easily-discovered and penetrated.
My suspicion as to how this is proceeding at this point goes something like this: The FBI is now trying to chase down who, and how, moved at least one of the now-known-classified at origin emails off the normally-secured network that information travels on and transferred it into the insecure world of a commercial IT provider’s infrastructure. They will figure that out, and then once they do they have tremendous leverage with said person or persons because there is no way for such a classified document to get from the secure to insecure network accidentally, which means they can (and will) indict someone for intentionally doing so.
At that point the rollovers on Hillary begin and from there it accelerates very quickly for her.
Best guess on timeline? A couple of months, maybe and then Hillary is toast
Elizabeth Warren will be in the race by November. Bernie is too far left even for the Democrat elites, and Biden is too much of an old, tired hack.
She will be nominated, and win against any Republican in sight.
Warren has her own flaws, but it will be a great relief to have avoided having Madame Hitlery Stalin in the Oval Office, with all the police state machinery in place.
As to the question posed in the article’s title ……. indictee. And I take great pleasure in watching this Chinese water torture being inflicted on this woman and seeing one email at a time dripping on her forehead.
Bombshell: Clinton E-Mails Were “Classified From The Get-Go”, Reuters Says
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 08/21/2015 14:55 -0400
Just last night, we reported that Hillary Clinton’s campaign had finally admitted that the former First Lady’s private e-mail server – which she used to handle sensitive information while serving as Secretary of State – did indeed contain documents that have since been marked classified.
The admission comes after Clinton sought to appease GOP lawmakers by turning over her personal server to the FBI. Subsequently, reports suggested the server had been wiped clean while an audit of the e-mails Clinton handed in to the State Department showed that some of the threads looked to contain chatter about the CIA’s drone program.
Clinton’s defense – until now anyway – is that regardless of whether some of the information was retroactively stamped “classified”, it wasn’t marked as such at the time it was sent and received and therefore, no classified information was stored on her private server. As we’ve noted, those with a security clearance are expected to exercise the highest discretion when it comes to their handling of sensitive information and as such, Clinton should have been more careful. Here’s what we said on Thursday:
While it’s certainly disconcerting that the nation’s one-time top diplomat was sending and receiving sensitive information over an unsecure private e-mail server, the issue for Clinton – because it would probably be naive to think that anyone besides voters will actually hold her accountable – is that her handling of the ordeal has served to reinforce the perception that she’s too arrogant and untrustworthy to be given the reins to the country.
That is, the public was already wary of electing yet another member of America’s political aristocracy (or oligarchy, if you will) and the fact that Clinton apparently expects Americans to believe that she had no idea the information she was receiving on her home server might one day be deemed classified (even though she’s been privy to such information in various capacities for decades) seems to underscore her arrogance and highlight her propensity to, as Jean Claude-Juncker famously put it, lie when “things become serious.”
Now, according to Reuters, Clinton’s last line of defense – that anything which is now marked “classified” wasn’t designated as such initially – may be in question. Here’s the story:
For months, the U.S. State Department has stood behind its former boss Hillary Clinton as she has repeatedly said she did not send or receive classified information on her unsecured, private email account, a practice the government forbids.
While the department is now stamping a few dozen of the publicly released emails as “Classified,” it stresses this is not evidence of rule-breaking.
Those stamps are new, it says, and do not mean the information was classified when Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner in the 2016 presidential election, first sent or received it.
But the details included in those “Classified” stamps — which include a string of dates, letters and numbers describing the nature of the classification — appear to undermine this account, a Reuters examination of the emails and the relevant regulations has found.
The new stamps indicate that some of Clinton’s emails from her time as the nation’s most senior diplomat are filled with a type of information the U.S. government and the department’s own regulations automatically deems classified from the get-go — regardless of whether it is already marked that way or not.
In the small fraction of emails made public so far, Reuters has found at least 30 email threads from 2009, representing scores of individual emails, that include what the State Department’s own “Classified” stamps now identify as so-called ‘foreign government information.’ The U.S. government defines this as any information, written or spoken, provided in confidence to U.S. officials by their foreign counterparts.
This sort of information, which the department says Clinton both sent and received in her emails, is the only kind that must be “presumed” classified, in part to protect national security and the integrity of diplomatic interactions, according to U.S. regulations examined by Reuters.
“It’s born classified,” said J. William Leonard, a former director of the U.S. government’s Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO). Leonard was director of ISOO, part of the White House’s National Archives and Records Administration, from 2002 until 2008, and worked for both the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations.
“If a foreign minister just told the secretary of state something in confidence, by U.S. rules that is classified at the moment it’s in U.S. channels and U.S. possession,” he said in a telephone interview, adding that for the State Department to say otherwise was “blowing smoke.”
We’re sure they’ll be far more on this to come, and while American voters are by now very much used to having “smoke” blown at them on the campaign trail, the poll numbers for Donald Trump (and, incidentally, for dark horse candidate “Deez Nuts”) would seem to suggest that the public’s patience with being lied to by America’s political aristocracy may have run out.

Celtic,
You may be right.
It will be hard for a Republican to go against a double minority (a Native American and a Woman).
As big a narcissist as HItlery seems to be, the episode must be driving her absolutely CRAZY!! If she stays in the public through this, watch for a meltdown.
