Biogen, nice big phama company, but has helped many people with nasty diseases over the past 30 years. I think Fidelity employs quite a few more people both in and out of Massachusetts. I would consider them much more powerful within the state. When Abigail Johnson speaks the politicians listen.

What’s sad is how many of these companies wouldn’t even exist in a sane society.
Keurig is a prime example. Coffee, fer crissakes? The herd swills that crap like there’s no tomorrow.
Las Vegas Sands Corporation is another. Officially licensed to exploit human weakness.
Nike and Apple fit right in – completely marketing-driven, flogging cheap Chinese-made junk to the masses at obscenely elevated prices.
Every one of these would go tits-up tomorrow if America got a sanity transplant today.
