Depends who the immigrants are – where they come from, whether they’re smart, whether they’re educated, what their culture is and – most importantly – what their religion is. Letting European Christians into the US wouldn’t pose a problem. Letting in Muslims – even if they’re blue-eyed Germans – is stupid. We have too many Muslims in the US already. We certainly have enough, anyway. We should not let in any more Muslims.

The bottom line is developed countries don’t need any more immigrants. The US, Germany, England, etc have large enough populations.

The U.S. has some of the most liberal immigration policies of any country, including the “anchor baby” provision (which is subject to interpretation, I say there shouldn’t be anchor babies, period).
Our problem as citizens is both major political parties are in favor of illegal immigration. The Dems want to increase their voter base, since most illegals are hispanic and vote Dem, while the Republicans want cheap labor for their big companies that has the blanket effect of pushing wages down.
At this point I really don’t believe any candidates in the running represent the viewpoint of most middle-class Americans. Trump mouths words but can’t back them up with specifics. Sanders wants the ever-elusive “comprehensive reform” but again with no satisfying description.

It sort of depends on exactly what question was asked and to whom, was it the same in each country, and was it asked of the same respective demographic groups in each country.
For instance, asking a upper class German businessman if he thinks legal immigrants are a positive group when they bring highly needed skills and enough money to support themselves while becoming German citizens and asking a middle or lower class worker in Greece if he approves of the illegal Muslim migrants competing with him for jobs and pay and demanding he conform to their customs would not give a valid comparison between the two countries.
These “statistics” never seem to include those facts when they are presented to the general public which leads me to doubt them.
Germany’s prolonged low birthrate has put the nation into a panic. This is what they get for not having kids, nobody left to fill important jobs to get a civilization going. They have done this to themselves.

I have noticed that modern newcomers seem unwilling to learn english and blend in. While people like my folks refused to speak unless it was in english.And they really wanted to be Americans.
Muslims just don’t mix well with Christians anyhow.
