Bang, You’re Dead

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

A propos of the recent Roseburg, Oregon, school massacre that left nine dead, President Obama said, “we’re going to have to come together and stop these things from happening.” That’s an understandable sentiment, and the president has to say something, after all. But within the context of how life is lived in this country these days, we’re not going to stop these things from happening.

And what is that context? A nation physically arranged on-the-ground to produce maximum loneliness, arranged economically to produce maximum anxiety, and disposed socially to produce maximum alienation. Really, everything in the once vaunted American way of life slouches in the direction of depression, rage, violence, and death.

This begs the question about guns. I believe it should be harder to buy guns. I believe certain weapons-of-war, such as assault rifles, should not be sold in the civilian market. But I also believe that the evolution of our Deep State — the collusion of a corrupt corporate oligarchy with an overbearing police and surveillance apparatus — is such a threat to liberty and decency that the public needs to be armed in defense of it. The Deep State needs to worry about the citizens it is fucking with.

The laws on gun sales range from ridiculously lax in many states to onerous in a few. Yet the most stringent, Connecticut, (rated “A” by the Brady Campaign org), was the site of the most horrific massacre of recent times so far, the 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting. The handgun law in New York City is the most extreme in the nation — limiting possession only to police and a few other very special categories of citizens. But it took the “stop-and-frisk” policy to really shake the weapons out of the gang-banging demographic. And now that Mayor Bill deBlasio has deemed that “racist,” gang-banging murders are going up again.

Which leads to a consideration that there is already such a fantastic arsenal of weapons loose in this country that attempts to regulate them would be an exercise in futility — it would only stimulate brisker underground trafficking in the existing supply.

What concerns me more than the gun issue per se is the extraordinary violence-saturated, pornified culture of young men driven crazy by failure, loneliness, grievance, and anger. More and more, there are no parameters for the normal expression of masculine behavior in America — for instance, taking pride in doing something well, or becoming a good candidate for marriage. The lower classes have almost no vocational domain for the normal enactments of manhood, and one of the few left is the army, where they are overtly trained to be killers.

Much of what used to be the working class is now an idle class that can only dream of what it means to be a man and they are bombarded with the most sordid pre-packaged media dreams in the form of video games based on homicide, the narcissistic power fantasies of movies, TV, and professional sports, and the frustrating tauntings of free porn. The last thing they’re able to do is form families. All of this operates in conditions where there are no normal models of male authority, especially fathers and bosses, to regulate the impulse control of young men — and teach them to regulate it themselves.

The physical setting of American life composed of a failing suburban sprawl pattern for daily life — the perfect set-up for making community impossible — obliterates the secondary layer of socialization beyond the family. This is life in the strip-mall wilderness of our country, which has gotten to be most of where people live. Imagine a society without families and real communities and wave your flag over that.

President Obama and whatever else passes for authority in America these days won’t even talk about that. They don’t have a vocabulary for it. They don’t understand how it works and what it’s doing to the nation. Many of the parts and modules of it make up what’s left of our foundering economy: junk food, pointless and endless motoring, television. We’re not going to do anything about it. The killing and the mayhem will continue through the process of economic collapse that we have entered. And when we reach the destination of all that, probably something medieval or feudal in make-up, it will be possible once again for boys to develop into men instead of monsters.

JHK, the fucktard who voted for Obama twice does love to go on about how Obongo is a clueless sap…go figure.

But FWIW ,in all shootings fucktard cites , the guns used where purchased legally via background checks , which is strange since before Federal required background checks where required there were no mass shooting. This leads to the obvious conclusion.Federal background checks are the #1 cause of mass shooting.

And a handy chart for interpreting all future mass shooting.

JHK: ” [T]he president has to say something, after all”.

Does he? And what did he have to say? “`[W]e’re going to have to come together and stop these things from happening.” A loaded platitude that has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that the killer was a denatured and deranged product of a culture created by Mr. K’s deluded “progressive” cronies who have as their agenda the destruction of a culture that foolishly made it possible for the destroyers to gain ascendancy in the propagation of “new” social norms that not that long ago would never have been tolerated much less adopted.

Mr K is correct when he attacks ” the extraordinary violence-saturated, pornified culture of young men driven crazy by failure, loneliness, grievance, and anger”, but he fails to call out those who have ceaselessly promoted it and one can speculate as to why he doesn’t. There have always been failures, the lonely, the sad and embittered, but once upon a time even they had a moral code and understood that although they’d drawn a bad hand in the game of life, that didn’t give them license to kill those who’d drawn a better hand. In a licentious anything goes societal setting, well…

These cocksuckers that talk about “assault weapons” –just once I’d like them to define that. He cannot be talking about full auto M-16’s becasue they cannot be had except by very very special permits as they were outlawed in (I think 1968).

So is he talking about a semi-automatic rifle that LOOKS like it’s full-auto M-16 cousin? Because that semi-automatic AR-15 is no Assault weapon by any stretch and his comment proves he knows little about weapons.

Blaming subdivisions is like blaming guns. There was a huge change from 1960 to 1970 and that was the rapid top down Cultural Communist Revolution from NYC and WDC which must be undone or we all know that a savage Civil War will explode from the Urban Jungles. It was not easy to build America but easy for Liberals to destroy it. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed (Is9:16). The tables are all covered with vomit…recovery must be precept upon precept…Wo to the rebellious children…that take counsel but not of Me. (Is28:8-10 & 29:30).

Personally, I think population should have weapons “at least” the equal police can have!

Serious question for you.

WHY should God rescue America …. (that’s assuming you believe He should)?

A lot of these young men were on psychiatric drugs but still they made a deliberate choice to commit mass murder. You can blame liberal secular leftists for many of the nation’s problems but it doesn’t change the fact these young men made a decision to murder.

Wait, let’s back up a moment here. Violent crime rates are down, despite more guns and a depression. Maybe we should all take a deep breath and realize that in a nation of 350 million people, there will occasionally be horrific crimes, because that’s also part of human nature.

Also, the fuck is this “pornified” culture the Kunt is talking about? Boobs don’t cause murder, even the holier-than-thou eunich should find that stupid.

Hey Capt….You may only own a machine gun that was manufactured and registered with the BATF before May 19, 1986. Weapons manufactured after that date are restricted for Military and Law Enforcement use only.

An individual purchasing a “ National Firearms Act Weapon “, NFA weapon or class 3 weapon is required to pay a one time, $200 Federal Excise Tax fee. This fee has been the same, since 1934. It has never changed or has the simple requirement for owning a NFA weapon. These rules and regulation were set forth in 1934, because of the readily availability of machine guns to people like, Bonnie & Clyde, Dillinger, etc.. They permitted the Department of Justice to prosecute criminals under Federal Law. This had a little more “bite” than local laws. To obtain an NFA weapon, you must first select one. The reason is, forms are required to transfer the weapon from seller to buyer, requiring specific information. There are several types of forms to accommodate these transfers. A form “3”, accommodates dealer to dealer transfers (Class 3, in or out of state). A form “4”, accommodates dealer to individual transfers, within the state. Unlicensed individuals may not transfer class 3 weapons directly into their state. An active Class 3 license is required to execute the transfer. If you hold an active standard FFL, you may transfer the weapon in directly, however the law enforcement signature, photographs, and fingerprint cards are still required, as well as the $200 FET.

They’re easy to get….but pricey .

Stucky,

So how many “criminals” in China are executed compared to here?

After all, an executed person is not an imprisoned person.

Maybe a more Chinese approach to justice -or a middle eastern one- would suit your desires?

Chinese execute between 2,000 – 5,000 per year. Numbers vary widely because the Chinks lie like crazy, and they don’t record all executions.

That being said I have no problem with the death penalty for certain crimes …. child rape and child pornography immediately come to mind. Kill ’em, right quick too. That would suit my desires.

WHY should God rescue America …. (that’s assuming you believe He should)? …. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2Chron 7:14 Unless some revival is instigated by God Himself, I doubt this or future generations of Americans will repent; the Devil and his minions are running America now. I believe God’s hand of protection is lifted (ie, He will let nature be nature; not good for USA which could experience Yellowstone, New Madrid, San Andreas, Cascadia, Canary Island Tsunami, economic collapse, wars and invasions, drought and famine, Ice Age, Meteors, plague, etc).. But : “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” Rom 8:28 He will save all whom He chooses “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” John 10:28

Bob, The LA Times had an article that said the majority of Americans believe they will go to heaven after death. Your comment above is based on the same belief. In truth, few folks even know or care about God. They are too involved with their own brand and selfies. I think you have not answered Stucky’s (rhetorical) question.

I’m a bit bumfuzzled here. In plain talk, the path is narrow and few take it. I don’t think God has reason to rescue America; it’s purpose as a Christian nation & light to the world was served over 200 years and then that light went dim about 1964 and effectively went dead shortly after. The majority of people are lost and the Elite PTB promote pure Hell; most churches are led by Liberals and many by secret Illuminati, Jesuits, Communist etc. I suspect most big name apostate evangelist are running on Zionist money. I don’t think the nation will be spared the perils of natural and man made disasters but many individuals will. That answer him?
