Socialism v Capitalism

European Socialism

capitalism-vs-socialism

The debate for socialism is simply that they regard it as unfair when anyone has more than another does. The solution is always to rob someone else to improve your own life. If you take this philosophy as your own, then you rob others because they have more, which is no different than robbing someone on the street or breaking into their home (a crime resulting in you living tax-free in prison). However, if you vote for politicians to degree the very same act as law, it somehow makes robbing other people legal. If they complain or assert rights, then they are greedy capitalists who worship their money more than your desire to rob them in claims of fairness.

Socialism is a Sin

Socialism violates the Ten Commandments which prohibits anyone from coveting what their neighbor has. Well, God must have had a bad day for he does not understand what is fair. If someone is smarter than others are, that is OK and God’s Will, but he should not have more material things. God obviously cannot be all knowing since Marx must be right. God clearly can’t understand what is fair. It was Julius Caesar who said man will believe only what he wants to believe. There is no changing his mind.

Marriage Rate

Europe has a death wish. Since World War II, they have been infected with socialism that is reflected in the unemployment. The highest unemployment is confined to nations with the highest degree of socialism. If you attack investments, you do not create jobs, and the end result is rather bleak. People are not getting married because they cannot find employment or earn enough to fund a family. When will we wake up to this hatred of the so-called 1% and realize it is an excuse to keep politicians rich in tax revenues?

So why do we put up with taxes anymore when they are only necessary at the local level and not federally? It is time for a major readjustment in this plague that has torn the world apart at the seams ever since Marx created the Progressive Era that manifested in Socialism and then Communism. I suppose it is like killing someone. If a cop does it, it’s OK. If you do it, it becomes a crime. Government clearly has replaced God. That’s the only explanation.

“Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Thus the beneficiaries are spared the shame and danger that their acts would otherwise involve… But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them and gives it to the other persons to whom it doesn’t belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish that law without delay – No legal plunder; this is the principle of justice, peace, order, stability, harmony and logic.”
― Frédéric Bastiat, The Law

People have devolved into sniveling, whiny, dependent maroons and there is no chance for a quick turnabout back to individual rights of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, but happiness only through the law.

If the masses wants are not relieved through their elected representatives, they may resort to taking matters into their own hands.
Whether you believe in fourth turnings or social emotions that can be turned on or off with the power of media, something wicked this way comes.

“Socialism violates the Ten Commandments which prohibits anyone from coveting what their neighbor has.” ———– from the article

1. No. It violates ONE of the Ten Commandments.

2. So does Capitalism. Ever heard of GREED? Ever heard of Wall Street? Ever heard of ‘Murika’s endless wars which is all about getting other country’s shit?

@Stucky

Truer words were never spoken imo.

Greed is just as bad as envy, they are related.

A nice take down of Robert Shiller and socialism:

Stucky,

GREED is not a fundamental tenet of Capitalism, nor is it of socialism as such.

It is, however, a part of the dark side of our human nature that can be expressed in any system by any one in it.

But greed expressed in capitalism does not require the forcible taking of one persons property against his will (theft, another of the ten commandments) to give to another who did not earn it while greed expressed in socialism does.

You can’t see this difference? Socialism requires the theft of people property to give to another, capitalism does not.

Capitalism requires the ownership of the productive infrastructure by private individuals -or groups- and their use to produce things of value by those willing to trade their own labor for them of their own free will. Socialism requires the opposite

Governments have become experts at this, convincing people the world over that democracy (a theoretical POLITICAL system) is necessarily tied to capitalism (a theoretical ECONOMIC system) and cannot exist under communism (another theoretical ECONOMIC system). Politics and economics are linked but not the same thing.

The left/right economic model (socialist/capitalist – degree of market freedom) is incomplete since it does not account for the political model(call it up/down – authority/freedom – degree of authoritarianism). On a standard X-Y plot:

Communism lives somewhere in the upper left quadrant: moderate-strong authoritarian political + moderate-strong socialist economic
Fascism – in the upper right: authoritarian + capitalism
Socialism – (this one might start a fight) lower left: higher freedom (political) with low market freedom
Capitalism – Lower right: higher freedom (market and political)

This argument (Socialism v Capitalism) suggests we don’t have an authoritarian political system – I disagree. The more apt claim would be Communism v Fascism – the only difference being whether the state controls industry or industry controls the state.

In NA we used to have extreme market freedom (at the time of the railroad barons) and this has degraded over the years – sitting somewhere in the middle now (Welfare is not exclusive to the left side of the scale, it can be administered for profit). What has gone almost unnoticed is the slide into authoritarianism – nothing happens without the state. TPP, TISA, TPIP coming down the pipe are going to cement the current economic model for a generation.

I would argue that we (‘Developed’ western countries) live in a fascist system declaring itself to be socialist leaning.

If you can control the definition of terms under debate you have already won. It’s like ‘war-crime’ used to mean knowingly bombing civilians, so you redefine militant to include pretty much everyone and ‘war-crime’ becomes an obsolete term. (MSF Hospital bombing – wouldn’t all those male doctors be considered militants anyway, the females just guilty by association to militants?)

A loose albeit reasonable description of Fascism is, “You own it, but we’ll tell you how or what you can do with it.”

So: EPA, OSHA, FDA, etc., etc. The cartoon shown today, here, of the cop and the little girl at her lemonade stand. Mandatory car insurance. Building permits.

Our tax and welfare structures are right out of Marx: From each according to his ability (?) to pay; to each according to his need.

“GREED is not a fundamental tenet of Capitalism, …” ——— Anon

Never said it was. But, it is a natural byproduct. As you said, human nature has a “dark side”. As such, no system of governance ever invented by mankind is an ideal one.

OK, maybe not a PERSON. How about NATIONS? Let the Sauds decide, “No oil for you, one year!”. Hmmmmm Will the American capitalists here just say “OKey Dokey!” … or, will they just go a TAKE that shit?

Hey, don’t think I’m ANTI-capitalist. I like me a little of both systems. I’m glad my dad gets Social Security. He worked until he turned 80 years old .. paid into it, and all his taxes for decade after decade. After FIFTY years of paying in (he was about 30 when he came here), he’s gettin’ something back … for the first time ever. Nothing wrong wif dat. But, some of you cocksuckers will vote this down.

“no system of governance ever invented by mankind is an ideal one” One day Jesus will return to chain Satan and his minions in Hell and establish His Kingdom on Earth for about 1,000 years. We will all be good neighbors or get an attitude adjustment from His rod of iron. That would be called a Benevolent Dictatorship today; The Good shepherd King then. He gave us much advice on how to live and if we elected Godly men, He would bless US and things would improve. The Constitution was the greatest document for government ever written and should have been followed. We should back the godless Communism back out of our government.
