Police Civil Asset Forfeitures Exceed All Burglaries in 2014

Police-Forfeiture

Between 1989 and 2010, U.S. attorneys seized an estimated $12.6 billion in asset forfeiture cases. The growth rate during that time averaged +19.4% annually. In 2010 alone, the value of assets seized grew by +52.8% from 2009 and was six times greater than the total for 1989. Then by 2014, that number had ballooned to roughly $4.5 billion for the year, making this 35% of the entire number of assets collected from 1989 to 2010 in a single year. According to the FBI, the total amount of goods stolen by criminals in 2014 burglary offenses suffered an estimated $3.9 billion in property losses. This means that the police are now taking more assets than the criminals.

The police have been violating the laws to confiscate assets all over the country. A scathing report on California warns of pervasive abuse by police to rob the people without proving that any crime occurred. Even Eric Holder came out in January suggesting reform because of the widespread abuse of the civil asset forfeiture laws by police.

Bloomberg News has reported now that Stop-and-Seize authority is turning the Police Into Self-Funding Gangs. They are simply confiscating money all under the abuse of this civil asset forfeiture where they do not have to prove you did anything. Prosecutors are now instructing police on how to confiscate money within the grey area of the law.

A class action lawsuit was filed against Washington DC where police were robbing people for as little as having $100 in their pocket.  This is getting really out of hand and it has indeed converted police into legal criminals or “gangs” as Bloomberg News calls them.

This is your government preying on its citizens. The desperate attempt to fund itself. Horrible stories about abuses.

Somehow you think government is your friend and is going to take care of you. Boy, are you deluded.

Seems modern police departments are channeling the Highway Men of yesteryear.

When I made trips from Oklahoma to here carrying large amounts of cash (We paid for the building of the log home in cash), I would put the cash into the bottom of a Kotex box under the pads and then put that inside a bag with other bathroom stuff in it (Yes, including extra toilet paper!) I never got stopped but am fairly sure that even if I had, the cash wouldn’t have been discovered. There are just some things that are off limits to he-man woman hating cops.

When government turns to outright thievery, you have lost your Republic. You have lost law and order and have become a third world tyranny.

Maybe it was always that way, but is now in the open.

It has been said in the latter day all will be revealed to you. You eyes will be opened, meaning mind, of course.

You going to vote the same s**tfaces in there, again.

Vote for Hillary! Hoorah! Hoorah! Hoorah!

Why all these frivolous posts, while ignoring all the important issues of the day?

#2 Kentucky plays #5 Duke tonight. This should be a great basketball game. I predict Duke will win by double digits. I love basketball because it ain’t got no mooslimfuks playing it.

What about the fuckin’ Starbucks coffee cup?? Why have we forgotten this story so quickly?

Charlie Sheen. What about him? That fine “murikan patriot got AIDS. What about that?

@Stuck: The Texans beat the here-to-fore undefeated Cincinatti Bengals last night. THAT’s what is important.

I lost a 50$ bet on the Charlie Sheen HIV deal. I was betting on another actor, rats. I am waiting for the lawsuits to start flying but my understanding is that he is totally broke.

I am boycotting Starbucks until they put Christmas back on their cups.

I carry at least 5000 cash in my FedEx truck for repairs and fuel if my comdata card won’t work. I also carry my pistols and side folding Rifle (ak 47.)just incase I get stuck in a big city riot.

Hell ,the cops would probably think I was a drug dealer. No problems so far and I have been pulled over a few times.( Just speeding tickets) I get inspections at weight stations sometimes but no problems .

Never submit to a voluntary search of any kind.

A man with a gun asking to search you or your vehicle may be intimidating but he is still asking and can be told “no, I do not volunteer”. If he does so anyway you still have a legal recourse to pursue -sometimes against the officer directly outside of the department he works for- that you don’t have if you allow it.

Also, never talk to the police about anything not legally required of you (i.e. your name to legally identify yourself to him as required by law). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc

When that cop asked me to look into my cooler last trip back from seeing my son, I let him, but only after telling him I didn’t have to let him. I wanted him to make an ass of himself though, because he was being such a jerk.

I’m still offended that Mags said we are unworthy of El Stucko’s intelligence, she also insulted my manhood. How does she know about my limp dick?
