Free range turkey with real cornbread and biscuit stuffing. Stuffing is the best when cooked inside the bird. My wife will make extra stuffing, freeze it, and we can have some stuffed Cornish hens later this winter.

Watching others stress out trying to prepare, and present the Norman Rockwell perfect dinner.

Then watching everybody eat, laugh, drink and forget about the previous drama, until Christmas dinner…..

Cooking a 12lb turkey for my ladyfriend and myself with all the trimmings. I love the smell of turkey roasting and all the other smells mingling with it, of turnips, potatoes, corn and corn bread.

The turkey and stuffing sandwiches that we’ll have later in the week are pure bliss as well.

Turkey for Thanksgiving, Ham for Christmas.

Best left over turkey sandwiches: Slice breast meat very thin. Spread one side of bread with cream cheese, then turkey, spread some brown mustard on turnkey, top with your favorite cheese. Broil in toaster oven – till cheese melts. Add lettuce / tomato / sprouts / Shed’s sauce.

Wife says they don’t make Shedd’s sauce anymore. Here’s what she does:

Shedd’s Sauce Clone

Ingredients:
1/2 cup good mayonnaise
2 tablespoons horseradish
2 teaspoons good ketchup
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
Dash black pepper
Dash cayenne pepper

For me it would be the food…..followed by a second helping of all the food……topped off with just one more little morsel of turkey. Rarely eat the desserts.

Then I sleep in the big leather chair in the corner for several hours while the grandkids make fun of me. Happens every year.

KaD, I knew I had heard of the game here, I just didn’t know who mentioned it. We have a naughty Santa game coming up at work and I saw the game (there were several boxes so I guess it’s not a well-known game) and bought one as my anonymous gift. I hope whoever gets it enjoys it as much as you do. Might even grab it myself.

What kind of INTJ’s are you? We look forward to it being done and everyone leaving, taking comfort in the quiet routine of doing the dishes.

After absolutely complete turmoil in my life , I look forward to a wife and family that accept me.
Been married 17 years and no matter how bad I fuck up , wife , family is there .

In case you all missed it , I can be a very opinionated asshole lol .

Wife accepts me and loves me for who I am . I don’t think I can ask for more than that . My children love me . Again , Way more than I deserve .

I will walk into a burning house for them every single day ,even knowing I will be consumed .

Nuff said.

Leftovers, leftovers and more leftovers. Like Dutchman we are constantly trying to perfect the leftover turkey sandwich. One of these years we will just cut to the chase and serve turkey sandwiches for the main course in the first place.

The perfect Leftover Thanksgiving sandwich:
White bread
Mayo one side, real butter on the other
Thinly sliced turkey breast
Cranberry (made from fresh, NOT out of a can)

That’s it

Family and friends ( we have 4 or 5 fiends without family in the area ho have now become part of our annual family/feast).

Plus the dessert table must have at least 6 pies and various cookies and sweets–we always tell those who ask what to bring, “just bring your favorite dessert”–this ploy usually works for at least 3 rounds of after dinner desserts during cards, Wii or board games

Thinking back on the five decades of blessings God has bestowed on me to date. Thinking of loved ones who are long since passed. Thinking God i was born a Virginian. Trying to find residual good in this nation in 2015 still outweighs the bad. Despite the best efforts of evils many inimical minions.
Oh nd eang til i pass out.
