Trump doubles down: Thousands in NJ cheered on 9/11

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump is doubling down on comments that thousands of people in parts of New Jersey with large Arab populations cheered on 9/11.

Trump said at a rally on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala., that he watched as the World Trade Center “came tumbling down.”

“And I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down,” he added. “Thousands of people were cheering.”

ABC “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos asked Trump on Sunday if he misspoke, noting that “police say that didn’t happen and all those rumors have been on the Internet for some time.”

“It did happen. I saw it, “ Trump said. “It was on television. I saw it.”

“George, it did happen,” Trump persisted.

“There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations,” he said. “They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down.

“I know it might be not politically correct for you to talk about it, but there were people cheering … as those buildings came down,” Trump added. “And that tells you something.

“There were people over in New Jersey that were watching it, a heavy Arab population, that were cheering as the buildings came down. Not good.”

“It is unfortunate that Donald Trump is giving new life to long-debunked conspiracy theories about 9/11,” the Anti-Defamation League said in statement to Buzzfeed.

“His comments are irresponsible — not to mention factually challenged.”

Sanders doubles down: Climate change causes terrorism

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday reiterated his claim that climate change will lead to terrorism by destabilizing regions affected by droughts, floods, and other natural disasters.

“The reason is pretty obvious: If we are going to see an increase in drought and flood and extreme weather disturbances as a result of climate change, what that means is that peoples all over the world are going to be fighting over limited natural resources,” Sanders said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“If there is not enough water, if there is not enough land to grow your crops, then you’re going to see migrants of people fighting over land that will sustain them, and that will lead to international conflict,” he added.

The Democratic presidential hopeful raised eyebrows when he made the claim at the second Democratic primary debate on Saturday.

The self-proclaimed Democratic socialist said on Sunday that the attack on Paris is an early example of this phenomenon playing out.

“Well what happens in, say, Syria… is that when you have drought, when people can’t grow their crops, they’re going to migrate into cities,” Sanders said.

“And when people migrate into cities and they don’t have jobs, there’s going to be a lot more instability, a lot more unemployment, and people will be subject to the types of propaganda that al Qaeda and ISIS are using right now,” he added.

“So where you have discontent, where you have instability, that’s where problems arise, and certainly, without a doubt, climate change will lead to that.”

The Sanders campaign reportedly sparred with CBS over the network’s decision to refocus the Democratic debate on foreign policy in the wake of the terrorist attack in Paris on Friday.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Goebbels didn’t say it

But don’t let that stop anyone from using the Nazi Card to make some sort of point about corruption in the US (which has been corrupt since before Goebbels was born).

Are we fans of this theater of the absurd?

False memories are hard to give up. There are millions of people who remember being at Woodstock. Likewise, many remember seeing the first plane. No doubt Trump believes the cheering Arabs he watched on CNN were folks in NYC.

Two points to consider here:

El Coyote may be right about Trump seeing cheering Arabs on the teevee, or it could be the “Dancing Israeli’s” who were arrested then released. Here’s a link: http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/fiveisraelis.html Mind you if it’s this he’s talking about he really stepped in it, because there are ISRAELI’S, not arabs.

And, Sanders didn’t say “Climate change causes terrorism”. What he said is, the RESULTS of climate change “by destabilizing regions affected by droughts, floods, and other natural disasters can lead to terrorism. And there’s no doubt about that.

I’ve been seeing a lot of this lately where the headline doesn’t square with the story content. I guess the evil ones are counting on brain-dead Americans who only read headlines…and then post comments.

Buelahman is correct. Goebbels most certainly did not say that. Goebbels said that propaganda should mirror the truth. The big lie theory espoused by hitler, from which this quote originates no doubt, was actually a criticism directed against the Jews, who do lie and do so repeatedly since they own the media. The nazis, hitler, himmler, goebbels et al. are the most lied about peoples in all of human history. I am disgusted by it.
