The United Nations projects that over the next 50 years, the population in the industrialized world (US-Europe-Japan) will DECLINE, not expand. The population is suffering from growing old and the youth are so burdened with taxes they are not getting married (marriages off by 50%) and are not having children. The decline in birth rates and the migration of people from the outer regions into the old core is typical.
The UN is now supporting immigration to keep the pension funds alive. They have stated that immigration now “require[s] comprehensive reassessments of many established policies and programmes, including those relating to international migration.”
The key question is: is it possible to have western civilization without westerners? In other words will western civilization survive without the European people who built western civilization over more than 2000 years, from the Greek era through the Roman period to modern western nations? Do you really expect that people from Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America, who did not build any thing comparable to western civilization, are going to sustain and build western civilization in Europe, the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia? The answer to all of these questions is clearly no. To think otherwise is delusional or a triumph of hope over reality. I remember flying back to Canada recently from Africa via London when the plane was almost filled with non-Europeans, after having spent a month in Africa visiting shanty towns, and marvelled at the stupidity of the European people who think that somehow these people would succeed in the west after failing miserably in their country of origin. The consequences of mass immigration from the third world is known beyond doubt which is a painful transformation from first-world to third-world nations. Sadly, this decline is well advanced for many western countries and is in fact accelerating with mass migrations out of the Middle East and Africa to Europe.
The idea that bringing in hoards of uneducated and unskilled migrants from all sorts of undesirable countries (undesirable is why they are leaving them) to establish a growing parallel culture here that will overcome our own will solve any of our problems is ludicrous.
Talk about loss of tax revenues for instance. Does anyone actually think adding millions and millions of non taxpayers to the public dependency roles will do anything to improve this? Or will do anything about falling productive “good jobs” employment that is resulting in fewer taxpayers paying taxes on lower incomes on top of it?
And that is only one problem we face, there are many others advancing on us as well.

There are so many people who like to bitch and moan about the Chinese 1 child policy (over now) – but they had it right. 1/family, if you want more you need the money and capacity to support them (contrary to popular belief there was a mechanism to allow for multiple children – just expensive and hard to get approval). Considering that Chinese civilization was in full swing while our ancestors were still fighting lions in the Colosseum maybe we should change the way we look their society. Many of our own ‘values’ are incompatible with societal longevity.

Education (higher intelligence) being the key – stupid people are having too many children relative to smart people (correlates very strongly with income/economic stability – ‘poor’ birth rate >> ‘well off’ birth rate; transcends race – stupid doesn’t see skin color, can’t even spell skin color). The western world is headed towards ‘Idiocracy’ before extinction. We don’t need limits on immigration, we do need limits on allowed births. I would personally rather see Ahmed the brain surgeon from Uzbekistan come over with his 5 children than Cletus the illiterate truck driver from the trailer park have 3.
I propose that everyone gets one – need to maintain a high level of genetic variation. Set the bar for #2 pretty low – population replacement, as long as you have the means to support it. 3+ requires you to meet some higher standards of intelligence, social responsibility (which ratchet higher for each additional child). Politicians get 0 – too many of them already.

I don’t think mass immigration is needed. I think we could scale down, get people back on the land, and make this country great again. Bringing in low/no skill people from third world shitholes isn’t going to help anything.
Sure, if you run SS and other pensions as a Ponzi scheme by paying out more in benefits than is paid in by retirees by keeping contributions low to get more votes you then need an ever expanding population to keep it going. Desperation is starting to set in amongst the rulers, hence the search for more taxes, cashless society so negative interest rates can steal more, and now more immigrants, even though here is no attempt to try to bring in those who would be more likely to contribute.

The problem with SS isn’t that it is run as a Ponzi scheme, it’s that all the money paid into ti has been spent for other things and SS is now a de facto unfunded liability (that “trust fund” is actually a government debt obligation, not cash assets).
Lots more has been paid in than has been paid out, which is why that fictional “trust fund” exists, I and most retirees in my situation are unlikely to get as much back as we paid in.
