From time to time I’ve said on these pages you’d know collapse was at hand when emergencies come close enough together DC couldn’t get ahead of them. Then couldn’t keep up with them. Now they won’t even admit to them. ISIS is not defeated or contained. Duh. The ones over here aren’t even particularly inconvenienced. They’ve invaded us, and they continue to invade all but unimpeded. DC is not taking this seriously. Most Moslems pray for global sharia and for everyone else to be converted or enslaved. They confess their militancy this way, irreversibly and irretrievably. I’ll believe DC is serious when I see them lock down the borders and rid us of them.
Larry Kudlow via Breitbart – ISIS and related Islamic terrorists are already here. More are coming. We must stop them. My shift in thinking comes from a deep desire to strengthen homeland security. Hopefully an immigration freeze will not be in place for very long. But for now I believe we must do it. And let me add, as I have in the past, if the U.S. has the will, the urgency, and the energy to destroy ISIS, then we will destroy ISIS.
Okay, so they won’t do this. It stinks of justice. How about a Plan B. The jihadists-in-waiting know who they are, DC knows who they are, only we, their intended victims, don’t know who they are. Why not give us a heads up? Consider a neighborhood alert system similar to the sex offender registry. Body counts are no way to let us in on their secret. And planning to save the day at the last minute is nice in theory, but look who’s taking all the risk without the career benefits.
Notice also how thoroughly the perps are researched after they’ve slaughtered their personal quota of infidels. Not before. After. Then DC has all the resources it needs to investigate their movements and associates and history, with spare personnel to stage news conferences reminiscent of an NFL half time. Why not the same level of scrutiny before they were allowed in? As it is, Moslem psychos know they’re invisible until they pull the trigger, and they’ll continue to be invisible for as long as we think DC is fighting them by drawing chalk lines around our bodies.
DHS was promised to be spectacularly effective by integrating formerly separate agencies. Yet after every attack they’re as clueless as we are, then they apologize for missing obvious and plentiful tip offs. They call it “intelligence failure.” Yes it is. DHS a huge operation. We pay for it in money and the nearly complete compromise of our former privacy. 240,000 employees and a 55 billion dollar budget, yet clues with rotating red lights and honking horns don’t get noticed. No one need wonder why people believe DC has a Moslem problem of a different kind

Nor are they serious about “see something, say something”. The real message is “say something and be squashed like a cockroach.” Ask the teachers who said something about Ahmed the Clock Boy’s pretend bomb. Oh wait, maybe you can’t, they may still be in hiding, or cleaning rest stops for a living. Ask Miss Loretta, the twit in charge of DoJ, the one who threatened us for talking among ourselves, the one who belonged to apro-terrorist outfit—ask her about saying something. You’d better have a notarized, actionable bill of particulars when her well dressed and very inquisitive agents visit. If you don’t, she’s made it plain you’ll be pilloried and prosecuted for inciting violence with your bigoted hate talk, and that’s not who we are, you racist nazi pig.
Taki’s Magazine – People continue to ignore terror warning signs. The San Bernardino neighbors weren’t stupid. Just the opposite—they were acutely observant. They knew that, had they reported their suspicions, and had they been wrong, they’d have been sued, held up by CAIR as hate criminals, and excoriated by the media. Risking a mass-murder spree is actually considered the lesser of two evils compared to being seen as racist.
DC spends a lot of our time telling us a disarmed citizen is a safe citizen. Somehow. People are thinking differently about these things. Tens of millions have bought guns on mounting evidence government can’t, or more accurately, won’t protect them. Yet we see DC protecting our resident Moslems to the last drop of our blood. This is not a stable arrangement. Meanwhile, Obama tells us to stop taking these little annoyances so seriously. Instead he proposes we Rise As One to make the climate stop changing. It’s time for DC to get serious before the electorate compels them to. DC has to change, and what has to change will change.
Excellent advice! Buy a weapon, get trained in using said weapon, deploy as needed.
If our government lets people in who mean us harm and then punishes (or allows others to, such as CAIR) us for trying to be safe, then I suggest that we may have two major concerns vis a vis the well-being of yourself and your family.
Imagine the USA under conditions where whites think blacks are all rabid dogs, blacks think whites are all Klansmen, Meso-American immigrants are being exhorted to “reclaim” half of North America, poor people think anyone with more “stuff” than them should have it taken away…or destroyed, Muslims think everyone else is out to get them, non-Muslims think all Muslims are closeted terrorists….
The opposite of pathological trust is pathological fear.
I give it until 2022 to hit the first nadir.
The good news: That one will be mild, compared to what happens in a number of decades after one recovery after another has failed.

My priority list is 1) my wife, kids, daughters-in-law & grandkids, then 2) me.
If you aren’t on this list, don’t plan on me coming to your aid.

It’s about the same number of deaths from terror or any mass shooting event vrs falling in the tub or off the roof. Lightning is close. Medical mistakes kills tens of thousands. Drunk driving – suicide-gang shooting all way above terror or mass shootings.
The money being spent on this bullshit is like we decide to have a war on home fires so everyone has to have a fucking fire truck fully staffed in the driveway.
Cost vrs outcome. Only a government can ignore this and even they can not ignore it forever.

We should require schools/medical facilities/malls etc to post if there is a planned active drill or if there has been a active shooter drill in the past year on the front of the building. Staying out of those locations would pretty much bring your chances of being killed or injured in a terrorist attack down to zero. That would limit worry over attack to chimpouts and regular robbery events.

@Bea – I am not sure I understood your comments. Are you saying that in schools/med facilities having an active shooter drill is somehow protective for staying alive or that just the fact that these facilities have to perform such drills makes them an inherently dangerous place (because they are gun free zones)?
Universally, the hospitals I have to go into have a posted 30.06 sign, no, not an ammo advertisement, that is the the section of Texas state law that prohibits a concealed carry owner from bringing a firearm onto the premises.
But hey! We have hospital security folks, which are armed, but unfortunately are also on a weight list, aha aha, for gastric bypass surgery cuz they weigh, on the average, 350 pounds and are 5 feet tall.

And yes, for those of you that are wondering, I do NOT carry my firearm onto the premises but I have mapped out escape routes in all my hospitals just in case.
suzanna, you may be right. I’m just going by some (very conjectural) cycles timing that predict a cycle low 2021 +/- one year.
Look, I figure 10% of blacks (including nearly all inner-city slum dwellers) are already at war on whites & Asians. Another 40% (if I interpret Derbyshire correctly) will go along with that leavening so you have about half of all blacks are either overtly dangerous or dangerous-by-contagion.
If Pit Bull Terriers were half that dangerous it would be open season on them.
We have a large number of people who can’t get ahead in a world that is getting tough even for very, very bright people, and the losers marinate in being told that their misery is YT’s fault.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what that yields.

Last winter my wife and I went out to dinner 5 miles south of our home (a nice little Thai place.) It was bitterly cold and dark when we left the restaurant. It was (and is) not a “bad” area.
I was reasonably careful, but just as we got into the car I noted a black adult male only 10-15 ft away vectoring in on me, he came out of nowhere. I got the door shut and locked before he reached the side of the car, but was frankly pinned in. Had he been armed, especially with an accomplice, we’d have been toast. It was an extremely bad tactical position.
He gave me some lame story about wanting a ride to a bus stop; I was so busy trying to keep one eye on his hands and grow another out the back of my head to watch the other side of the car that I barely processed the story. In hindsight I still think it was a very aggressive pan-handle is all. He was clearly handicapped, physically and possibly mentally. But it scared the living hell out of us. I got that car started and moved!
In analyzing it later with my wife, I noted that if EVER we were in a similar situation I would depend on her to ignore the guy on my side and continuously scan her side (including the mirror) for any evidence that we were being double-teamed.
I also admonished her that if she saw another person approach, sing out, duck as best as she could and put her hands over her ears. You can infer what would be about to happen inside the confined space of our car.
While we live in a relatively decent place, the county in which it is located has more violent crime than any in Illinois, per capita. Shootings are not quite as common as in Chicago, but almost. Just this week another murder, a guy sitting in his car and shot to death from without.
We live in Two Americas. The white one has rich and poor, smart and stupid…and relatively little violent crime. The black one is mostly poor, and mostly stupid….and if it was its own country it would look like a damned war zone all by itself.
There is no squaring this circle. Human behavior is hereditary. Human belief is hereditary. And for sure, human intelligence, thrift, and a host of other abilities are HEREDITARY. No amount of Great Society is going to make blacks into chocolate-covered whites. We are NOT all the same under the skin, genetic science is making that viewpoint look like pre-Copernican cosmology. Blank Slate is Flat Earth.
I don’t hate blacks any more than I hate stupid people or rude people. I dislike lots of people and prefer to separate myself from those around whom I’m uncomfortable. Frankly, I’ve had it with being told I HAVE to tolerate people—–I was tolerating them fine, but when you demand I tolerate them I actually become LESS tolerant.
But it takes an effort to be stupid enough to ignore that blacks, particularly black males, must be assumed dangerous until prove otherwise. Even Jesse Jackson, Jr. has admitted that he is more worried about being followed by black teens than white teens. It’s not a stereotype, it’s called STATISTICAL PROBABILITY.
Sorry for longwindedness. I agree with you. Blacks are already at war. Whites are just too busy trying to “be anti-racists” to admit it to themselves.
Speaking of aggressive pan-handling, a couple years back my youngest son got “robbed” at the gas pump by a guy who approached carrying an empty gas can, spouting some lame story about running out of gas and not having any money. This was in Schaumburg, IL, where the median home price is probably $600,000.
Things are getting dicey.
I keep asking myself, “Is it paranoia or should I begin to consider wearing body armor when out of the house, particularly after dark?”

As for JIMSKI, I get your point from your perspective of “the now”, but that can change in a heartbeat, so I think the negative votes your statement is getting comes from people’s fear of that. Yes the stats prove it’s not likely, BUT we’re in unchartered water here. Sure would help if we’ve stop drone strikes on innocent wedding parties including women & kids.

Outcome is largely irrelavent as is cost. The most important factor is the interest the central bankers earn on money printed out of thin……………….I mean on money spent keeping us safe.
