The irony of the phrase “may the odds be ever in your favor” is not lost on the readers of the Hunger Games trilogy of novels or the film adaption. Despite the grimness of the story, over 65 million copies of the books have been sold. The total box office take so far has exceeded $1.4 billion for the four movies. The dystopian series tackles real issues like severe poverty, starvation, torture, oppression, betrayal and the brutality of war. It doesn’t fit into the standard film making success recipe of feel good fluff, politically correct storylines and happy endings. Each film in the series gets progressively darker, with the final episode permeating doom and gloom. The books and the movies capture the deepening crisis mood engulfing the world today. And they realistically portray the world as a place where there are no good guys in positions of power. The ruling class, in all cases, is driven by a voracious appetite for supremacy, wealth, and control.

An Ambiguous, Confusing, Dangerous World

The world is a morally ambiguous place where those in power and those seeking power utilize the influence of media propaganda and PR campaigns built around “heroes” and “icons” to psychologically control the masses, while enriching themselves and their crony capitalist sponsors. Endless war against the latest “bad guys” further enriches the arms dealers and their political lackeys who joyfully use faux patriotism and nationalistic fervor to insist upon more boots on the ground, drones in the air, bombs dropped, and missiles launched.

War is good for business and keeps the masses distracted, while the Wall Street financiers harvest the wealth of the citizens. The division of the country into 12 districts, sending their bounty to the capital of Panem at the point of a gun, while they are allocated a pittance to survive, is no different than our corporate fascist government as they extract hundreds of billions in taxes, fees, levies, tolls, and fines from the productive class, while regulating, enforcing, mandating, and authorizing the plebs to death.

We live in a confusing world of anxiety, hate, greed, deceit and immorality, where governments throughout the world are nothing but rotting cesspools of psychotic despots desperately clinging to power while using any means necessary to keep the masses sedated and docile. Good people, with noble intentions, still exist in this decadent world, but they do not seek power or have any say in the governance of this world. The oppressed are hopelessly enslaved in debt, kept submissive by welfare transfers from the corrupt state, dumbed down by the state education system, amused by technological gadgets and vacuous entertainment, and kept in perpetual fear of seen and unseen enemies. We are told who to hate, who to fear, who to love, and who to believe by a nameless faceless state run by people we didn’t elect, constituting the invisible government.

The world is a dangerous place, made more dangerous by a willfully ignorant populace who mindlessly go about their day to day existence without thinking, questioning, or considering the possibility their leaders are corrupt lying thieves. We are told Putin, Assad, China, Iran and ISIS are the bad guys. Previously we had been told Hussein, Gadaffi, Bin Laden, Mubarak, Al Qaeda and the Taliban were the bad guys. It is true that none of these men or organizations are good.

It is also true that no one in leadership positions in Washington DC, on Wall Street, in corporate America, or in the mainstream media are good. The entire world is under the control of deceitful, cunning, egomaniacal, corruptible, psychopaths who will stop at nothing to fulfill their personal agendas. They are human beings who have allowed their dark sides to dominate their actions. There are no good guys, just varying degrees of evil imposed upon the masses by erratic unpredictable people with wildly differing levels of intelligence, patriotism and judgement.

The Power of Propaganda

It’s a tribute to the propagandists who have taken Edward Bernays teachings to another level as they have molded the minds of millions, consciously manipulating the opinions and beliefs of the masses to further their agenda of world domination. Once the Cold War ended, the ruling class sought enemies to keep their military industrial complex and Wall Street financiers enriched and happy. 9/11 was used to further that agenda as war on a tactic (terror) will never end. Perpetual conflict is a chief goal of the establishment. Orwell would be impressed with how our keepers have perfected the We‘ve always been at war with Eastasia” propaganda tool to perpetuate their goals. Both parties continue to promote war and increase the profits of the military industrial complex.

The U.S. invaded Afghanistan fourteen years ago to get bin Laden and rid the country of the Taliban. Bin Laden was supposedly killed in 2011, but no documentary evidence has been revealed to substantiate that claim. The Taliban is stronger than ever in Afghanistan after hundreds of billions in expenditures and thousands of lives lost. The occupation continues. The neo-cons convinced the dimwitted Bush to invade Iraq in 2003 because Hussein was a bad guy with weapons of mass destruction. Amusingly, he was our buddy when he was fighting our Iranian enemies and we provided him with the WMD (gas) he used on the Kurds.

After spending $1 trillion, we left Iraq as a festering quagmire of religious zealots with a bombed out infrastructure and a corrupt incompetent puppet running the show on our behalf. Then it was on to leaving Libya in a state of chaos because we overthrew another bad guy. We didn’t like the democratically elected leader of Egypt after we overthrew Mubarak, so we overthrew Morsi and installed another military dictatorship. The propaganda storyline is always about democracy and getting rid of bad guys, not the truth about securing oil resources, weakening the enemies of Israel, and keeping the profits flowing to our “vital” defense industry.

It seems the empire ran into a bit of a snag with their plan to remove the latest “bad guy” in Syria. Another “bad guy” – Vladimir Putin – saw through the American plan to eliminate Assad and have their co-conspirators in Saudi Arabia and Qatar build a gas pipeline to Europe. After overthrowing the democratically elected president (and friend of Russia) of the Ukraine and waging an unsuccessful war against Russian backed rebels in Eastern Ukraine, Europe was left at the mercy of an angry Putin as far as not freezing to death during the upcoming winter.

Putin is a strongman leader of a country with a nuclear arsenal capable of blowing up the earth several times over. He will do what is in the best interest of his country and will not blink when confronted with the likes of corrupt feckless toadies like Obama, Kerry, Hollande, Merkel, and Edrogen. His counter measures and revelations about the true nature of U.S. and Turkish actions in Syria and Iraq have blown the lid off of U.S. plans in the Middle East.

The latest fear mongering propaganda device for the vested interests has been the dreaded ISIS. The captured mainstream corporate media fails to mention the U.S. created, armed and continues to fund ISIS as part of their master plan to overthrow Assad. The U.S. left Iraq in such a state of chaos and lawlessness, fanatical Islamist radicals used the vacuum of power and the billions of dollars’ worth of top notch U.S. military hardware to create a safe space for themselves within Iraq and Syria. The U.S. has been funding and arming the supposed “moderate” Islamic radicals fighting Assad for the last few years, while attempting to use a false flag gas attack to wage all-out war. The U.S., Saudi Arabia, and Turkey created ISIS in order to further their economic and political interests. Lead neo con warmonger, Maniacal McCain, even had a photo op with his ISIS homies.

Once Putin decided to fully support Assad and actually concentrate on destroying ISIS, it became clear the U.S. was turning a blind eye to the billions in illicit oil profits being earned by ISIS refining, transporting and selling oil to Turkey. Putin began to destroy the oil infrastructure of ISIS and immediately saw a passenger plane blown out the sky and a bomber shot down by Turkey. So the organization we created is now the most feared terrorist organization on the planet, but we refuse to cooperate or coordinate its defeat with Assad or Putin because they are “bad guys”.

Turkey financially supports ISIS and is fighting hardest against our allies the Kurds, but we fully support their crazed dictator leader Erdogan. Iran is fighting ISIS, but more than half of Congress and all presidential candidates want to obliterate them on behalf of Israel. Virtually all domestic terrorism has a link to Saudi Arabia, they treat women like cattle, behead anyone not following Islamic law and are pumping oil at a prodigious pace in an effort to destroy the U.S. shale industry, but they are considered a close ally in the Middle East. It is quite clear there are no good guys running the show in this bizarro world of unholy alliances, backstabbing, revenge, and fear mongering.

A Lot of Hope is Dangerous

No one in positions of power can be trusted. Betrayal, violence, money, power and war are the weapons of the state. Loyalty, courage, sacrifice, love and hope are the domain of the people. The state walks a fine line between keeping the masses controlled through entertainment, debt, fear and hope. If the people lose all hope, despair leads to anger as those with nothing to lose take to the streets. President Snow of Panem explains the fine line between control and revolution:

“Hope. It is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective. A lot of hope is dangerous. Spark is fine, as long as it’s contained.”

In the Mockingjay portion of the Hunger Games trilogy you are left with the evil President Snow attempting to maintain the status quo, with Panem ruling over the formally subservient districts, while President Coin leads the rebels in attempting to overthrow the rotting immoral government of Snow. Both sides use the power of media propaganda, symbolism, false heroes, and despicable tactics to win. In the standard good guy/bad guy plot used to entertain the American masses, the rebels would be the good guys fighting for a noble cause.

Their symbolic mockingjay leader – Katniss Everdeen – is portrayed as the fearless revolutionary of the people. She is the hope which ignites a revolution and turns despair into a war against the oppressive state and the wealthy vested interests in Panem. The rebels have the moral high ground, but the underlying feeling of distrust is always evident. The good guys might not be so good.

The central question of the final episode was, real or not real? Who can be believed? Are heroes really heroes or are they just created by public relations propaganda specialists? When an icon used to inspire a revolution has served their purpose, will the “good guys” purposefully sacrifice them for the good of the establishment? Can any government be trusted? Can any politician be trusted? Can the media be trusted?

The truth is that no one in a position of power can be trusted. The only people who can be trusted are family and friends. And even they can turn on you with enough monetary incentive. It’s a confusing, brutal world driven by greed, endless military conflict, religious zealotry, and controlled by shadowy unelected men using their ill-gotten wealth to pull the strings on all aspects of society. We are living in a dystopian nightmare where the masses have been induced to love their enslavement.

Katniss undergoes a metamorphosis after seeing her sister blown up while rushing to the aid of victims and later confronting President Snow after the rebels succeeded in overthrowing his regime. President Coin, the leader of the “good guys”, reveals herself to be even more duplicitous and evil than the leader of the “bad guys”. She used the deep-seated characteristic of human compassion to kill Katniss’ sister along with hundreds of children and rescue workers as a tactic to turn the war in her favor. Those in positions of power will use any means necessary to gain or maintain power.

When Coin proposes a last Hunger Games sacrificing the children of the previous regime’s leadership, Katniss realizes Coin is going to just replace Snow as a dictator, perpetuating the despotic policies which created the rebellion in the first place. Katniss rightly decides that killing innocents, and especially children, is never justifiable. Therefore, she decides to kill Coin, while the rioting crowds kill Snow. She sacrifices her status as a national hero in order to give her country a chance to regain its former glory as a republic. The personal sacrifice on behalf of her country is almost unbearable, but ultimately sacrifice, courage, love, strength and hope for a better future are able to sustain her during the dark days.

Turnkey Tyranny

As the former Republic known as America has descended towards the tyranny of a corporate fascist surveillance state, there have been two true patriots who have dedicated their lives to inspiring a revolution in thought and action to help this country regain its former glory based on the U.S. Constitution. One patriot is young and the other patriot old, but their message is the same – we must resist and oppose the ever growing oppressive power of a tyrannical state systematically dismantling the Constitution and stripping the people of liberty and freedom. Their words speak for themselves.

“The great fear that I have regarding the outcome for America of these disclosures is that nothing will change. People won’t be willing to take the risks necessary to stand up and fight to change things… And in the months ahead, the years ahead, it’s only going to get worse. The NSA will say that… because of the crisis, the dangers that we face in the world, some new and unpredicted threat, we need more authority, we need more power, and there will be nothing the people can do at that point to oppose it. And it will be turnkey tyranny.”Edward Snowden

“The original American patriots were those individuals brave enough to resist with force the oppressive power of King George. I accept the definition of patriotism as that effort to resist oppressive state power. The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility and out of self-interest for himself, his family, and the future of his country to resist government abuse of power. He rejects the notion that patriotism means obedience to the state.”Ron Paul

Edward Snowden is our modern day Paul Revere, but instead of riding across the countryside warning “the British are coming”, he used the power of modern technology to warn the world “the NSA is watching, listening, and monitoring”. He sacrificed his citizenship, high paying job, freedom, and possibly his life (if the U.S. government had its way) in order to blow the whistle on the blatant destruction and disregard for the Fourth Amendment being perpetrated by the NSA, with the full knowledge and approval of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the U.S. government.

He knew his revelations would result in his persecution, attempted apprehension and ultimate imprisonment, as the corrupt malevolent establishment and their mass media mouthpieces would brand him a traitor for revealing the truth about the illegal malfeasance being conducted at the highest levels of government. He realized true patriotism is sacrificing your life for something bigger.

“I had been looking for leaders, but I realized that leadership is about being the first to act. I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions, and that the return of this information to the public marks my end.” Edward Snowden

Snowden’s revelations exposed the U.S. government for what it really is, a corporate fascist organization designed to benefit a chosen few while oppressing the masses through debt, currency debasement, and perpetual war, while implementing Orwellian surveillance measures designed to capture dissenters and critical thinkers. The sustenance of the welfare/warfare state requires a dumbed down, passive, distracted populace who can be manipulated and controlled through propaganda and baubles.

Thus far, the vested interests have successfully convinced more than half the population that Snowden is a traitor. The power of propaganda in conjunction with a willfully ignorant public is a potent combination. Even though Snowden’s disclosures have not spurred a revolution yet, they have sparked an underlying dissent that has been growing, as trust in government, politicians, bankers, media and corporate leaders wanes.

“I can’t in good conscience allow the US government to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they’re secretly building. I do not want to live in a world where everything I do and say is recorded. That is not something I am willing to support or live under. Everyone everywhere now understands how bad things have gotten — and they’re talking about it. They have the power to decide for themselves whether they are willing to sacrifice their privacy to the surveillance state.” – Edward Snowden

Snowden worked within the system until his conscience made it unbearable for him to support an immoral, rogue organization bent on trashing the U.S. Constitution at the behest of leaders’ intent on retaining their power, control and wealth through any means necessary. Ron Paul has taken a different, but equally noble path as one of the few patriots who worked within the system, but never became corrupted by the system. He has been a voice in the wilderness for decades, condemning the relentless march towards tyranny that he saw firsthand while in Congress.

The establishment, media and leadership of both political parties have scorned and ridiculed him as ineffective and inconsequential. There was never a piece of legislation with his name on it that passed during his time in Congress. His nickname was Dr. No, as he voted against anything that added to the national debt or took away freedoms or liberties.

This disparagement reveals the fallacy of what constitutes success in Washington D.C., as there are now over 5,000 Federal laws, 180,000 pages of Federal regulations, $18.8 trillion of Federal debt, $200 trillion of unfunded Federal liabilities, and every politician of both parties completely captured by corporate and special interests. There is one ruling party and the appearance of choice is nothing but a farce designed to make the masses think they have a say in the governance of their country.

“We’ve slipped away from a true republic. Now we’re slipping into a fascist system where it’s a combination of government, big business and authoritarian rule, and the suppression of the individual rights of each and every American citizen. When it comes to any significant differences on foreign policy, economic intervention, the Federal Reserve, a strong executive branch, a welfarism mixed with corporatism, both parties are very much alike.  The major arguments in hotly contested presidential races are mostly for public consumption to convince the people they actually have a choice.” – Ron Paul

The vitriol and bile hoisted upon Snowden and Paul expose the weakness of the ruling class, as truth, honesty, personal courage, and sacrifice for a higher purpose are attributes they cannot subvert or buy off. It’s the words and actions of men like Edward Snowden and Ron Paul that provide hope for critical thinking liberty minded citizens. The ruling class knows a lot of hope is dangerous, so they must undermine the messages of these patriots. Ideas matter. Words matter.

These two men have inspired me and an unknown number of other citizens who still believe in the Constitution and will do everything in our power to provoke a revolution of reason, truth and honesty. The odds will never be in our favor. Carroll Quigley understood the odds were stacked against the American people over 50 years ago. The domination of the world by central bankers representing private interests has never been more evident than it has since the Federal Reserve created 2008 financial crisis and the traitorous actions taken by politicians and central bankers in the last seven years.

“The powers of financial capitalism had a far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland; a private bank owned and controlled by the world’s central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank… sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world.” Carroll Quigley

Even though the odds are never in our favor, there is still hope. Not everyone has to make the extreme sacrifice like Edward Snowden or dedicate their life to the message of liberty like Ron Paul in order to contribute to the revolution. There are thousands of small acts which will weaken the establishment. Arm yourself. Stop watching and listening to the mainstream media. Take your money out of Wall Street banks. Grow your own food. Barter with others and starve the beast. Reduce your tax footprint. Buy locally and boycott mega-corporations. Build relationships with neighbors and reduce your dependency on the government.

Don’t be a slave to debt. Live beneath your means and accumulate some physical silver and gold. Don’t vote for candidates selected by the vested interests. Spread the message of liberty and freedom to anyone who will listen. Support the alternative media and send pertinent articles to family, friends and acquaintances. Think critically. Do not trust your government. Prepare for the inevitable collapse of this rotten, fetid, corrupt paradigm. Hope, love, courage, and persistence will ultimately win. The tide is turning. Panem will fall. What replaces the existing social order will be up to us.

  1. I’ve often wondered what it would have been like to live in 476 AD with Romulus Augustulus as the phony (last) Emperor, collapse happening all around, your neighbors fleeing to the barbarians to gain a little freedom. Redux?

  2. This essay/and analogy are quite good and apt.

The closing suggestions do provide an answer

for people that seek change. What is missing?

Laws were broken, theft has been committed on

a massive scale, and illegal military actions have

gone on. There has to be punishment for these crimes!

At the least, asset forfeiture to start. The stolen money

has to be returned, and the Fed bankers have to be banned.

States can print their own money. The Fed. Gov. has to be

reduced to a part time status. There is more to do, and

surely others can figure out what and how.

  3. Not to keep resurrecting the ghost of Ayn Rand, because I realize so many have such diverse opinions of her.

But – when considering Snowden – I am reminded of her quote as follows:

“Integrity is the ability to stand by an idea”.

She also added that “integrity presupposes thought”, or similar? ( I am going by memory and perhaps paraphrasing somewhat).

Regardless – like others before him, Snowden is a hero because of his courage to tell the truth in spite of great persecution.

This is what moves the world.

In the end, the ultimate goal of the “ruling class” is global domination via Agenda 21, the demise of constitutional law and nationalism, depopulation and, ultimately, the administration of their Brave New World via their satanic ten commandments as outlined in the Georgia Guidestones.

    “Let the games begin…”

  4. PS – President “Snow” in The Hunger Games vs. Edward “Snow”den in real life. Really?

    Snow WAY!

Life truly does imitate art. Fuckin’ surreal. I swear…

  5. Interesting tidbits for your entertainment because after all you are just being entertained:

Suzanne Collins, author of the Hunger Games Trilogy, lives in Sandy Hook near Newtown and was friend of Nancy Lanza ( mother of Adam Lanza, killer (?).

These are relatives of a person mentioned in the article, does this seem like just another everyday schmuck on the planet?

John Kerry- US Sec. of State

Bill Gates- Founder (cough) of Microsoft

    Amelia Earhart- Aviation Pioneer

    Humphrey Bogart- Movie Actor

Alan Shepard- Apollo and Mercury Astronaut

    Sigourney Weaver- Movie Actress

    Susan B. Anthony

Person related to the above notable people/actors ?

Answer: Edward Snowden—- Ex CIA/NSA Spy

  6. Also – just an FYI here – when you want extremely intelligent and articulate and eloquent people to leave you alone – the best thing to do is act stupid, obnoxious and “intellectually lazy”.

Truth is – I just, I enjoy all of the contributors on TBP – but I wish the TPTB / government assholes would leave us all the fuck alone. They won’t. Nothing you can do to avoid that. Oh well….

  7. Great article. When I read the Hunger Games series and Katniss puts an arrow through Coin I had to read it twice to make sure that’s what really happened. I thought shit! that’s the way to go, forget replacing the old boss with a new boss, how about no boss. To bad the hoopleheads what someone to rule them, no matter how evil they might be.

Ron Paul and Edward Snowden are two of my heros and I wish more people would consider what they have to say.

  8. That is wild Bea. Small world. Sometimes I wonder how Adam got the combo to his Mom’s (Nancy’s) safe in order to access her assault rifle and ammo? Especially, when he was on psychotropic drugs? It ALL worked out so great to Obama’s agenda regarding mental illness and gun control. Just luck, I guess.

I also wonder why Snowden is reported on by the mainstream media.

  9. I certainly agree with the Power of Propaganda or what I would call the Judazing of American culture and Religion. The tribe(Jews ) and ( their Anglo Saxons progressives Lackies) that controls Hollywood , TV Networks and most of the publishing industry have done Satan’s work in turning this nation away from its founding principles.(Christian principles ).As Pat Buchanan said in one of his recent articles. Christ has been taken out of Christmas. Christianity has been been ban from schools , the state and now society.(Public Square).Christianity is now openly mocked. This hostile elite is one reason for the general apostasy in America.

As always good job Admin .

  10. If you’re on the ‘grid”, & on “narrative”, what’s at play?

I still think Snowden is a hero, but why is the MSM reporting on him when they could shove him “under the rug” like Michael Brown’s criminal record?

    Stay tuned, I guess…

  11. Too late. Much too late now.

The USA is no longer a democratic republic. It has become an oligarchic plutocracy controlled and run by a select group of elites, who happen to be the richest.

A healthy democratic republic depends upon the individual voter being engaged and aware of critical issues, then making a truthfully informed, intelligent and rational choice.

Intelligence and rationality among the general population of the US is no longer a common trait.

Hope is indeed a virtue, but must be embedded in reality. To pin ones “hope” on the military to do the “right thing” and obey their Constitutional Oath to protect society, is to hope against hope and is a fools objective.

Remember May 4, 1970 when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on unarmed university students protesting against war, firing over 80 rounds killing 4 and wounding many more.

  12. The collective conscious of Homo sapiens are going through a mental health and spiritual crisis. I wonder how many DMS Codes would apply.

  13. “Even though the odds are never in our favor, there is still hope.” ———— Admin

A masterpiece of an article, Jim. A Masterpiece. How do do do it?

    But …

    — Hope is not a strategy.
    — Hope is overrated.
    — Hope lives in Texas, and nowhere else.
    — Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

……… for I have seen the Mark Dice videos!

  14. Admin, no one can sum up the current state of geopolitical affairs as succinctly as you.Kudos + 1000

While I agree that the USG is corporate fascist organization , they ‘re not oppressors .You can’t oppress those willing to wrap the dog collars of state security and unlimited debt around their necks.Sure there are dissenters, but outsider of the internet who many do we count among friends , family or associates. I count none.Oh, I know a few who grumble about the current state of affairs, but I don’t know any who taken the time and expense to educate themselves to the jaw-dropping gargantuan scope of magnitude with which the state now controls our lives and how we got here.

It’s mind-numbing just to try and have a conversation with these people. The references we use to Bernay, Quigley, Orwell, Huxley, Quinn..they don’t get , because they’ve neither heard nor read these names and their too busy with entertainment, texting and attempting to keep up with inflation that they’ve not noticed that the state has completely taken over the administration of their lives.

Even locally, where rampant corruption can be ended by a few people standing up , no one does, because of the networks involved and no one wanting to lose their place in the gravy web. Any who attempt it are cut loose and shunned from the employment loop.

Personally having witnessed the nature of the fallen and therefore easily corrupted for decades now,I believe the only hope for the salvation of mankind is Divine Intervention otherwise we will eventually-thanks to the greatness of Science – self-destruct.

  15. Bea Lever …spot on brother , but you left one out. Remember back when you told us that Jacob Greenberg (aka. Mark Zuckerberg) was the grandson of David Rockefeller ,well it also turns out that Snowden is the cousin of Suckerberg and too, a grandson of Rockefeller..sppoky shit right there..controlled opposition , what else?

And like yourself , I won’t include any links to the proof…just take my word for it, because I’m another lever, right?

  16. Another fabulous commentary – thank you.

Perhaps things are changing – this guy, David Collum – and his host Chris Martenson – touch on some interesting non-financial stuff starting at around the 48 minute mark.

  17. My daughter is a huge fan of the series so I wanted to ask her about it before I responded. I think part of the reason that it resonated with younger people is definitely related to the fact that they can sense what is going on even if they haven’t got the intellectual chops to dissect the problem.

I’m torn on the hope thing. I just don’t see it’s practicality in my life any longer. Hope is a spiritual procrastination- it puts off to another day what should be done right now, it saps the energy and drive out of people and leaves them open to predation on a grand scale.

Again, another shot out of the park. Great pace and phrasing, succinct message, wonderful tie in to pop culture and in fewer words than an average NYT op-ed.

    1. “Freedom is a mystical truth. It’s expressed best in The Brothers Karamazov. The freedom that Christ gave the world was the freedom of being an individual in a collectivity, of basing ones life on love, as distinct from power, of seeking the good of others rather than nourishing ones own ego. That was liberation. And the Chief Inquisitor, who speaks for every dictator, every millionaire, every ideologue that’s ever been, says we can’t have it.”

      Malcolm Muggeridge

  18. Bea, I saw that claim (Snowden being related to Zuck and Rockefeller) here before. It certainly makes me pause and go Hmmmm?

Things are almost never what they seem.

    1. Bea will believe any bullshit conspiracy he reads on the internet. As soon as he provides proof, other than the scriblings of some goofball websites, I’ll give credence to his usual crap. His gullibility knows no bounds. When I googled his claim, nothing but ridiculous conspiracy websites came up, all regurgitating the same bullshit with absolutely no FACTS to back up their claims.

      The stupid – it burns.

  19. Inventions get abused. Invent a plane and soon the idiots are dropping bombs on each other. Invent Smart Phones and FB and then TPTB know where you are and when.

100 years from now what we perceive as ‘freedom’ will be thought of in the same vane as Chinese foot binding of little girls.

Who needs freedom when we get fed, have all the mindless sex and drugs that we want, violent sports and video games? How can freedom measure up to THAT?

  20. Bea Nutjob

I await a detailed analysis of the family tree that proves your claims. That should be very simple for you to provide. It’s just people’s names and how they are related. Piece of cake. Right Bea?

Or will you provide links to 15 nutjob websites with unsubstantiated claims?

    We’re waiting.

I see Bea’s bullshit falling at freefall speed.

  21. Okay, Admin… I am guessing that when I saw it here before, it was Bea posting it as well. Okay.

SpecOps… Huxley’s Brave New World had no idea.

I made the mistake of visiting an old schoolchum who lost her foot in a car wreck in St. Louis Barnes hospital while dropping the rocket scientist wannabe at the airport. (He was supposed to learn a better method of solar energy conversion and storage for me. Brat.)

Anyway, it cheered her greatly to see me Christmas Day and since I was there when her son arrived (who has been invited to hunt on my land, being one of my boys when he was little), I got to be patted on the back and told what an Angel of Mercy I was to come see her on the holiday.

    So that went well.

Since then, my online life has been a living hell with her constant perusing of my facebook accounts and her delight at discovering we’ve build a lovely log home in the Ozarks–why she can’t wait to come visit and with that pond out there in front to fish in, she says she just might not leave. Then she proceeded to tell me the accident wasn’t really her fault because she had a petit maul (spelling?) seizure, she thinks, and was hit by a man who swerved to avoid her head on collision into his lane. He hit the passenger side head on instead, demolishing both his and her car, but managing to prevent her immediate death.

She told me that her insurance company is going to sue him for a million dollars because she lost her foot. She said that her agent told her that since he technically was out of his lane, they think they can get it or at least half that in settlement.

What the hell is wrong with people? I don’t even want to KNOW someone so predatory that they are plotting to sue a man who saved their life on a technicality. And if she finds her way here (her son KNOWS that I do not accept visitors unless they are invited directly by ME. He and I had the conversation about his mother when he came to hunt deer. So, yes, I knew she was a leech but figured a visit to the hospital to cheer her was harmless, especially when her son asked me to visit because she was so lonely. But, now, I’m going to have to tell a one-footed woman that I do not want to tell her where I live because if she shows up, Nick is probably going go all mafioso and tell her she is not welcome again.

Even when doing something charitable on Christmas day, the odds are NEVER in your favor.

  22. Oh, why did I post that? Because her father was in the direct lineage of Samuel and John Adams. He was a stalwart (been wanting to use that word) Arkansas hillbilly who’d moved to the flatlands of SE Missouri in the big race to buy all the newly drained swampland and get rich quick. He didn’t get rich on farming, but he did make a tidy retirement sum by studying the area and finding a lot of unique Indian artifacts that he sold to a museum for enough money to buy a nice place in the hills and live a subsistence life with his wife and children, of which the woman I speak was the only daughter.

I have seen HIS family tree, my father having been a good friend and admirer of him. However, I don’t think either Sam or John would be proud of their great-great-great granddaughter/niece.

  23. Admin- I am simply posting a interesting tidbit, not an affront to your fine article. When I said people are here to be entertained, I meant on the planet, not TBP.

Also, I did not list Suckerberg and Rockefeller now did I ? That is Flash in his usual early morning attack mode.

Look up Suzanne Collins on Wikipedia and scroll down to (Personal Life), plainly states she lives in Sandy Hook.(also lists in her bio on her first book if I can remember correctly)

Next, go to the site ( On the top toolbar select INFAMOUS. Scroll down to Edward Snowden and click on his name. You can get the list of famous kin and the charts are included which chart his family tree quite nicely. If you doubt the tree, chart it your self.

Admin, again fine article, and I am not a nutjob thank you very much. Flash is stirring the shit as usual.

    1. Bea

I went to your famouskin bullshit website. You post bullshit about Snowden being the fucking 13th cousin 3 times removed of Kerry and 14th cousin of Bill Gates based on some guy who arrived on the fucking Mayflower??????

Keep that shit for some other conspiracy website. Your comment was meant to denigrate Snowden and make it look like he is part of some shadowy conspiracy.

And there is no fucking family tree. Just the verbiage of some dude. Nothing but worthless drivel. As usual.

  24. This is a great piece, Jim. One of your best. As far as having hope is concerned, I really don’t know what use it has for me anymore. Hope seems to almost be a form of procrastination, ‘hoping’ that the problem will be fixed by others. I have no hope that this will get fixed. I also have no interest in participating in any of this nonsense any more than is required. Stay out of debt, save outside of the banking system. My only concern is being able to care for my family when the inevitable happens.

  25. JFish

You made 7 of the first 13 comments on this thread. Most of them were attempts to misdirect the dialogue. You immediately brought Sandy Hook into the discussion even though it has no place in this thread.

This is one of my major articles. I only write one every few weeks. I’m starting to get the feeling you are a paid troll whose job is to distract from the message of my articles.

I do not want my article hijacked by your ramblings. You’ve been warned.

  26. Admin, learn to use the site. The tree is most certainly there if you ACTUALLY read the information contained within. What you need to grasp is that being charted back to Mayflower passengers is required to be THE infamous spy of our time.

You may also be interested to find Joseph Wharton in some of the charts of people who are famous. Never discount old Bea, I am anything but a nutjob.

    1. Bea

You’re a fucking nutjob. You look in the mirror and don’t believe it’s you looking back.

Your original comment is a worthless piece of shit meant to misdirect the dialogue.

You and JFish add nothing to this website. I’m tiring of your drivel.

  27. Also, Admin I think it is noteworthy that the women who writes books about children killing each other lives in Sandy Hook and knew the Lanzas, not trying to take away from the article.

    1. Bea

Bruce Jenner lived in Newtown too. I bet he was part of the plot. Collins is surely part of the plot.

Please provide the documentation that Collins was besties with the Lanzas.

Sound of crickets. You’re a fucking idiot.

  28. “What replaces the existing social order will be up to us.”

It’s this last sentence that gives one pause.

To prevail against superior odds only to find that what you are left with is a distinctly different landscape than the one you came from is difficult enough, but to anticipate 330 million people will be capable of holding together anything resembling the original ideal is even more intimidating.

This is perhaps the most difficult part, to know that “winning” is only the beginning. What comes afterwards may be every bit as difficult if not more so. It may be decades before any semblance of normalcy returns? There are intense divisions within this country and many disparate groups with different ideas of what “should be.” The Balkans, perhaps?

In the meantime, nature abhors a vacuum, and there will be many contradicting entities struggling for power. The real trick civilized society has to pull off is balancing the desire for individual freedoms with the insight required to elect those legitimately driven to protect them. Miss this and the effort will have been in vain.

Buckle up. It’s going to be a long and not-so-pleasant ride.

  29. EC and I think he is unwarnable.

Bea, I don’t know if Snowden’s family tree is relevant. My footless friend’s is NOT. She was a nurse on a medical Navy ship in Desert Storm, got some sort of illness that has her 100 percent disabled and now seeks to find a way to enrich herself from some kind man who could have ended her life without moving his truck an inch, but chose to swerve into her passenger side to avoid killing her.

Our culture is corrupted from the inside out. Whether Snowden is in the bloodline of Zuckerman and/or Rockefellers doesn’t really matter. Shit, my family tree on my mother’s side has a direct line to the Kennedy Fitzgeralds, but that doesn’t give me a ticket into the compound. (Don’t think when the old guy in Texas died they didn’t try to get some of that money though)

In the end, each of our characters is left to stand on our own. What we do with what we are genetically and by socializtion in the environment in which we are raised is up to us. I can no more blame my parents for my bad decisions in life than my son can blame me if after all the support I’ve chosen to give him, he decides that he just wants to walk away from the opportunity available and take long walks on the beach, hoping someone will feed him.

It has nothing to do with hope. It has everything to do with common sense and integrity.

  30. Correction…What we do with what we are genetically provided and by socialization taught in the environment in which we are raised is up to us.

My favorite Scripture on Hope? Romans 8:24-25
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

So, for Christians, Hope is a reward forever out of sight. Those that will deal with God must deal upon trust. Faith implies there is a promise of something beyond, while hope is a vision of a thing promised. So, in a way, Faith could be considered to be the mother of hope. I like that. We do with patience wait. As a mother and stepmother, I have witnessed suffering of my children and believed that there was something better for them, even though there might be delays of it. Now that I have see that better thing realized for my stepson and in the process of becoming reality for my son, perhaps I am gaining an understanding of how Faith and Hope are interwoven.

And that will be my contribution from the great beyond for today.

  31. Suzanne Collins came up with the idea for the Hunger Games while channel surfing one night. She was flipping between a reality TV show where young people were competing for prizes and actual war coverage where young people were dying in combat. The resulting combination of the two was the inspiration for the books.

Of course, anyone who has ever written a novel will tell you that that is when the work really begins. The brilliance of her story is that she combines fast-paced action, with solid simple prose, while, most importantly, sticking to her themes…namely war and oppression. She has been very clear saying that the books are about war. That is why the tone gets continually darker and the there is not some grand party when the revolution finally, inevitably succeeds. War is a horrific, nasty business…always.

I think of the movie “Cold Mountain” where most of the men are thrilled at the prospect of War…cheering each other on. Four short years later, the few left alive cheer no more.

Hope is not idleness. It is not passive. It is simply a reason to try. I read posts here to the effect that the future will have the same psychopaths in power, with the rest of us just poorer and more miserable. That is very defeatist.

I think a lot of people also hope that, even after the coming collapse, they can return to basically the same lives they have now. This is not possible. Our current systems and paradigms will collapse and must collapse. The hope lies in the unique historical opportunity to rebuild after an historical collapse. To not let those currently in power retain it….to not rebuild the same foolish systems, on the same unstable foundations.

The good thing is that this type of hope changes nothing in what we to today. Live today as best you can, eat drink and be merry, do meaningful work, love as best as you can…and simply be aware of what the future holds. The preparation needed, I believe, is mainly psychological and spiritual (although some physical preps are certainly a good idea)…these can be done in parallel with the good tasks of the day.

  32. I’ve had more frequent dreams of social chaos and strife lately. I’m no prophet or physic but it’s somewhat disconcerting.

Maybe I’m reading too much TBP and watching too many Hunger Games movies. Ha ha.

But in all seriousness, the Hunger Games and Walking Dead themes by admin are my favorites.

My moniker is “Rise Up”, because we MUST!

  33. Thank you, HSF. There is a fair measure of hypocrisy involved, of course, as I sit at my desk, fully ingrained in the current doomed paradigm, putting off some work that I actually need to get done this morning. 🙂

Ah, JFish and Bea…I rarely, if ever, engage either of you. Do you understand why? You both seem to have fallen victim to the great American deception that quantity is more important than quality. My eye is now fully trained to ignore you both as I ignore most comments. HSF, Admin, Stucky, llpoh, DC Sunsets, a few others…here my eye always stops. Why? They are the music in the noise…what does that make you?

I say this only because I think you both have something to offer…but randomly typing every thought that creeps across you brain completely buries whatever that may be.

  34. DRUD… I agree with MOST of your comment, except that it necessarily changes what we do today simply by forcing us to accept an altered view of the future. (By US I don’t mean you and I… I mean the rest of the schmucks out there that might be saved from the coming collapse.)

  35. OK fine Admin, everything is on the up and up…….Wall Street is honest, the MSM never lie to you, CONgress just decided to take a vacation and do nothing on our behalf. Famous people have NO connection and the woman who wrote The Hunger Games just happens to live in SH and knows a lot of interesting people.

If you consider this MY drivel, please explain as I am just the messenger. I have no power over where Suzanne Collins lives and I also have no input in Snowden’s bloodline. If you would like to expel me along with the Fish, it’s your call. I am here to comment on the articles that are offered, that’s what I do. I don’t just ditto everyone else and I do not apologize for same.

  36. True, Maggie…but then again every thought, actions, sight, sound…everything alters our brain..permanently and irreversibly as new neural paths are formed…it is only a matter of degree. There is a certain amount of compartmentalization required to stay aware of the coming collapse and not only keep our sanity but to also be able to function.

There was another point I wanted to make about the Hunger Games books (And these article are among my favorites of yours, Admin) and that is the on the people of the Capitol. They are well-fed, trapped in a world of over-the-top entertainment and ridiculous creature comforts, tricked into believing that their appearance is who they are…and they are mostly useless in every way.

It is there indifference, ignorance, mindless obedience and decadence that allows the oppression of the districts. They are not evil in and of themselves, but they certainly facilitate it.

They are very much like modern day Americans.

  37. Ah… DRUD, you point out something that has been troubling me but has been unspoken. Since my son got his excellent internship opportunity inside the Beltway last summer and earned almost as much per hour as I made at my last job as a gubment contractor in Oklahoma, he’s had stars in his eyes about the nation’s Capitol. (In my defense, I was going the WRONG WAY in wages the last couple of jobs to try to find a place I was happier and didn’t have to work for idiots. In the end, quitting and taking care of Nick’s Dad fit the bill.)

I think I worry that my son’s decision to pursue a more mainstream engineering degree instead of focusing on alternative energy technologies is due to seeing just how wonderfully everyone in the D.C. area lives and how much industry is booming there.

I alway will take a theme from an article or movie and see how it applies to my life and family. I will take the macro event to the micro level immediately and see if there is someone I know to whom it applies. Unfortunately, there are way too many when it comes to these types of topics. We don’t have the guns to hand out to people like my footless friend. We have them to keep her out.

  38. OT. The odds were not in CNN’s Poppy Harlow’s favor today as she passed out live on air. I was listening to the broadcast but not watching. Just listening I could tell something was wrong.

  39. Hope is just a four letter word , while Reality is the evil bitch clawing at the door to get in.

    3. Hillary Clinton will be elected the next President of the United States

Likely, for two terms. She has the support of women, minorities, and a good number of liberal white men. Even if Trump could win the support of all white men, he cannot win the election. The numbers just aren’t there. Politicians know that they no longer have to cater to white males. White male voters can no longer decide the outcome of elections. If you secure the female vote, you win. Secure the minority vote as well and it’s a landslide victory. It’s that simple.

George W. Bush will go down in history as the last straight white man to serve as President of the United States. The first black president will be followed by the first female president, likely followed by the first openly gay president. Look at how Ben Carson pulled ahead of Donald Trump in Idaho in recent polls. Idaho! White men are now seen as unelectable in their own country.

Expect Republicans and Democrats to run opposing black candidates. It will be our black candidate versus their black candidate, sort of like how the Space Race pitted America’s German rocket scientists against the Soviet Union’s German rocket scientists.

  40. Although I look upon politicians with the same cynicism as this author, I’m not opposed to allowing a glimmer of light in if it comes my way. In that spirit, this morning I became aware of a new senator elected by Nebraska a year ago who is NOT a politician, Ben Sasse. He is a historian, worked as a strategy consultant, and launched his maverick senate bid from a post as college president. Watch his recent speech in the Senate chambers, and ask yourself if you wouldn’t rather vote for this man than *anyone* currently in the list of Republican candidates:

  41. Well, I don’t really care enough to research why she passed out T4C. Was suspecting she was either anorexic or on drugs.

My footless friend has discovered in the ancient posts on my Facebook page I should have deleted when we moved that I am somewhat versed in the folklore of essential oils and have advised people in the past how to tell pure steam distilled oils from other blended oils. She just send me a gushing message about how thrilled she is that I know all that and that once she gets her prosthetic foot, she will come here and let me teach her everything I know.

What the FUCK is wrong with people? My husband says it is me, but I haven’t seen this woman in 20 plus years except for a charitable drop-by at the hospital to congratulate her on being alive. What makes her think that makes her welcome at my home for anything at all, much less to sit and force me to teach her anything that I’ve spent hours, weeks and years learning.

I’m irritated about this and I apologize in advance for dumping it here if it isn’t relevant, but I think it really IS. This is a disease on our society… the FSA, no matter what uniform they wear, thinks everyone else’s possessions and knowledge are theirs for the demanding.

  42. Maggie, I don’t have a Facebook page, a Twitter account, or even a smartphone. It’s not because I’m “afraid” of the technology or of learning how to use it. It’s because I don’t like it when people bother me. After reading what you have posted, I am glad I made that choice.

  43. Hope is eternal. Hope is everlasting. Hope is a wish.

Make a wish and blow out the candles. Don’t tell. Hope it comes true.
Hopes and wishes go hand in hand. Both are ephemeral and void of surety.

An interesting juxtaposition comes immediately to mind from childhood memories and later as a young, half grown adult.

Singing the Walt Disney song “When you wish upon a star…” and then instantly –
“M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E Hey there, hi there, ho there, I’m as happy as can be…” With the Stanley Kubreck vision of soldiers singing in “Full Metal Jacket”, as they march against a flame lit backdrop of utter destruction. No doubt believing they are bringing “freedom and democracy”!

Hope is a good thing, but must always be based in reality. Otherwise it’s but a wish.

  44. T4C, the problem isn’t her knowing if I unfriend her or if I delete old content. What is irritating me right now is that this happens all the time in so many ways.

I should NOT have to tell people all the damned time that they need to be invited to my home. I have two cousins that live closeby (relatively, here in the hills) and they are always welcome. Vice Versa for Nick and I at their homes. It is understood and has been spoken aloud. Otherwise, people should expect an invitation before they come driving up here.

BUT THEY DON’T. I lost a round bale feeder and several fence panels off my land to a relative who wanted to come check out the “hunting site” the year we bought the place. I didn’t think it would hurt and gave him directions. He called me the day he was here and asked if the round bale feeder was mine and I said that it was. He asked if he could borrow it since we wouldn’t be building here for a while. Shocked, I said yes.

He took the feeder and four of the sturdy fence panels. I let him know that he is NEVER welcome here again and will be shot on sight. He got all defensive on the phone: “Well, you weren’t gonna be using them.”

While I was here overseeing the building of the log home, an uncle known for offering his “services” in hopes of charging exorbitant rates came driving up to my entry and honked. I rode the quadrunner down and told him that I couldn’t let him in, because I was leaving to go to my cousins’ in just a bit. He wanted to just offer to see if he could “help” the builders. I told him the builders were not the type to hire outside help.

So, my problem is not FACEBOOK, you see. It is that I came out of FSA country. And I am no longer interested in providing for the FSA. Even though I took special care to locate myself great distance from the remnants of the FSA that once fed upon my father’s hard work and my own generous nature long ago, they are predatory and are trying hard to find a way to get them some of what they perceive to be theirs simply because it is mine.

You can see I have real location issues.

  45. The odds are definitely not in my favor right now, but me and Lt. Beretta and Col. Remington are gonna change that. Nick and I are building a new sign for the gate entry.

  46. DUD- Don’t you want to chime in on Facebook and CuNNt news anchors passing out? Crickets from you. At least some people make noise and wave their arms around a little.

Cocktail hour starts in two hours, then I will like you again.

  47. @Deana Just for fun, I copied the entire article and the comments into a document and searched for the word “sheeple.” You are the only one who used it.

  48. @Maggie, 2 things:

Nip your problem with the footless one in the bud–let her know you are very busy or some other excuse and YOU will let HER know when it’s OK to visit. Don’t be a pushover.

As to your son (stepson)? intrigue of the DC area–I live here, and the cost of living is high, so he needs to weigh that in any decision to settle here. Plus we have the worst or 2nd worse traffic in the country.
Unless he lives and works in DC proper and can use the metrobus/metrorail system, expect a long work commute.

  49. Who groans beneath the Hiroshima curse
and strangles in the strings of purse
before She mends must sicken worse.

Her living mouth shall breed blue flies
and maggots creep about her eyes
no man will mark the day She dies.

    She = USA

  50. @Rise up… my son is currently living in the lap of luxury, hosted in the basement bedroom and living area/mancave that was the son’s living quarters of an old AF friend of mine who has worked in the DC area for the last 30 years since she exited the AF after our first enlistment. She just happens to live within a ten minute drive of APL, where his internship is/was… so he assumes it would always be like that. We tried to explain about life in rathole apartments that cost $1000+ per month, but while he says he “gets it” I can see that he thinks we are trying to discourage him.

And yes, the footless one has been told that her visit is impossible until at least later in the spring, since the construction issues make visitors unwelcome under any circumstances, much less someone requiring a wheelchair be hauled around. When she has her prosthetic foot on and is mobile, I will visit her in rehab and “assess” whether I want to continue a friendship at that time. If I don’t want to, I will just tell her to pull up her big girl panties and deal with it.

  51. Hey Jim,

Your writing, and the Burning Platform website, are world class. They stand on their own.

When I started reading here years ago, I would devour all of the essays, etc and actually skip the comments section. But as time went on, the comments gradually drew me in more and more. It was the wicked combination of shit-throwing, infighting, amazing perspectives and random frivolity that, I felt, really made this place special. I still feel that way.

Edward Snowden is a hero, for sure. I believe, his courage on exposing the trampling of the 4th Amendment in our nation will go down in history as another hinge in the 4th Turning. When I questioned why the MSM reported on him accurately, it in no way was it meant to challenge his efforts. I was simply wondering why the MSM would report on him when it should, obviously, be a very touchy subject for the TPTB. Perhaps they report on Snowden because they want to extradite him at some future date for a trial and public flogging? I don’t know and that’s why I raised the question.

In any case – I only wanted to make TBP stronger via vigorous debate but also with some humor and some random fun. There are 3 here whom I would never want to disrespect. You, HSF and Stucky. I figured the rest here were “fair game” and they obviously, believed the same about me.

However, if I am “sideways” with you right now. Then I fucked up. People that know me would tell you that I am a “acquired taste” and an asshole most days.

But I would take a bullet before causing any harm to you (or TBP in general).

Therefore, I am not quitting the war, but I am choosing to battle on other “fronts”.

Please know that I plan on continuing to financially support TBP in 2016 and beyond for as long as I can.

    No hard feelings.

Godspeed to you (and everyone else here). Never give up. I won’t either…

  52. You know what is remarkable about admin’s articles, aside from the content and the righteous anger? His lack of typos and other assorted errors which are very common among even the top writers. Why do you think editors exist? Even the best of them will have their manuscripts drenched in red ink of the editor’s pen.

My secret theory about admin is that he, due to a boozy indiscretion, he fathered twins long ago. They are facsimiles of admin, named jim and Jim. They are 30 years old. One edits admin’s work, the other alerts him when some asshat posts something stupid or critical on TBP. Otherwise, I cannot imagine how admin does it. Great article once again.

  53. Good piece, Admin. I hope ZH and others pick it up.

BTW you Trump supporters DO realize Trump has called Snowden a traitor and wants to hang him as such.

  54. I think Deanna Johnston Clark is David Pierre; either that or they have the same writer. Davids comment on ZH is pretty much the same as Deanna. I haven’t been around here that long, but wasn’t there a big shit throwing event with this David Pierre a little while ago?

  55. @Maggie, I’m not flipping you shit but I do have some advice. Stop posting info about your life on social media. Make your accounts private/invite only. On your public space post links, info and the odd comment that reflects how you really feel about all that ills us and that will act as moron repellent. Also, get a gate for the road that leads to your house and place it as far from your home as practical. Keep it locked with a combo lock so that you can allow people in via phone etc. Change the combo frequently. Watch the movie Second Hand Lions and post some creatively sincere “KEEP OUT” signs……..BIG ones like in the movie. I’d could help with that! 🙂 Also, put on an air of assholeitude around those looking to invite themselves over.

I’m reminded of a short lived gag Letterman did on his show with the key line being; “Don’t come to the island!” in reference to Letterman inviting himself to Marlon Brando’s private island.

  56. It’s good to see my opinions of gefilte fish were accurate. I predicted, but did not post that admin would likely end up casting him down with the sodomites as RE and DP were.

Noobs come in here often and complain about the uncivil manner with which they are treated here so I tried to gently advise the trout upon arrival that he was being perceived as a douchebag but that offended him. Getting kicked around by others has no effect either so like I admin, I suspect he’s a paid troll.

  57. @Bea, I tend to ignore most of the conspiracy BS that gets posted here for the same reason that I minimize my time spent on conspiracy sites……….there is always some lower hanging fruit to educate myself on or something productive I can be doing instead.

Even if every conspiracy theory proved to be true tomorrow, there’s no point in dwelling on it because I have zero influence over it. The straight up provable reality of our situation is too far fetched for mainstream ‘Muricans to handle as it is so I find very little value in embellishing it with the conspiracy side of things. You saw the country’s reaction to Snowden’s revelations or known truth right? There’s your sign! I rest my case.

  58. @IS… Thanks for the advice and I will certainly review all my old accounts I have left open. I still have a MySpace account out there somewhere dormant (I hope.) I really only used the Facebook account to post private group messages to Nick and a few friends during my move here, but there were times when it was easier to upload images of the log home in progress to FB via my phone. I have purged those images, hopefully not too late. I do not post of private life on social media any longer, but had forgotten about old information posted long ago before the final move from Oklahoma. Like you said, I like to post links to information such as the Bill in Congress concerning gun control (I do not LINK HERE lest someone follow the link and “find” me. None of my hillbilly associates are likely to add much here.)

Our gates went on and stay locked after we lost the round bale feeder and fence panels to “family.” My two cousins who we are within twenty miles of their homes know where the key is hidden, but since that requires climbing the gate, they prefer to call ahead and let us open it. We prefer that as well, but would not be overly upset if they let themselves in. We have a motion detector for the entrance but haven’t installed it because we have lots of other projects to finish.

We moved here to get away from the rat race. We don’t need more rats trying to get in. I posted a sign after my “uncle” showed up that informed visitors that if they had not been invited they were not welcome. And if they had to think about it, they had NOT. Nick laughed about it, but said it was a bit much. I put it at ground level and he hasn’t noticed it is still there.

  59. @Westcoaster
Give it a rest. Trump wants to hang Snowden, yadda, yadda. This the the fourth post I have seen at least where you have said as much.
    We get it.

  60. At one point when I dragged (invited) the jellytrout and EC off of Hardscrabble’s lovely prose over to the Andy Griffith video clip to banter (oddly, I gained respect for EC and learned a great dislike for the salamander), I had a suspicion that all the suggestions that he was worried about being targeted by TPTB for posting here were simply nonsensical things someone might post who was trying to disrupt discussion. While I certainly enjoy having my 400 comment record for Stucky to try to knock down (illegitimate or not, since it was of ill gotten gain trying to keep the banter of the salamander and trout off of HSF’s wonderful contribution). I am a bum magnet… I admit it. My footless friend is a leech as well. I will have to cut her off, but since she can’t get here for some time to come, it can wait until she heals (and her son and I have had the honest discussion about how I have invited HIM but not her.)

And as for Bea’s insistence that Snowden is related to Zuckerman/Rockefeller and that means conspiracy? I have somewhere around here a REAL family tree that shows my grandmother Catherine Fitzgerald, was descended from the Fitzgeralds of the Fitzgerald/Kennedy clan. SO FUCKING WHAT? She married a sharecropper named Hasty and that was the end of that relationship. LOL.

My mother’s uncles spent a lot of money trying to get some of the inheritance from a Fitzgerald in Texas who died and left a fortune in oil money to be split among his heirs. All they believed they needed to do was prove they were heirs. There is a LOT more to it than that.

Nick and I really just want to take care of our own business here. We really do. I like reading and commenting here on TBP because it is DISTANT. IF any of you lived closeby, I wouldn’t be so willing to show you what we do out here in the hills.

And if any of you come to my gate, look to the lower left for the sign telling you that unless you were invited, you aren’t welcome.

  61. I only read the first portion and I began to recognize a lot of my own suspicions from way back in the day when the Shah was deposed and we suddenly had a new enemy in the Ayatollah. I was a young person then and had never considered anybody a real enemy. I have seen a parade of state enemies since that time.

I intend to give this article my full attention.

  62. @Maggie, having a family trust your estate and business out of probate and out of the public view when you die which will help keep the riff raff away even if they are family. I know you said you were setting one up so you already know.

The trouble with the internet is that you never know how distant anyone is and distance can largely be irrelevant on the innwebz.

  63. To be honest Maggie, I love it when people post all their business online. It’s very convenient to learn all about people I may be thinking about doing business for or with. Everyone is appalled that employers can check your background prior to hiring you but it’s a two way street. I can learn about employers down to individual employees and just about anyone else for free. If need be I can spend less than five bucks and get access to vast troves of records in minutes. The more info a person knows about you the easier it is to distinguish Maggie Smith from another Maggie Smith. You can even conduct a search on yourself to see what comes up. You might be shocked.

  64. First-time visitor to this excellent site. Am surprised and delighted to see an actual quote by Dr Carroll Quigley, author of the Insider expose Tragedy And Hope which lays bare the very real Elitist global conspiracy that anyone can read, and which at this point in time cannot be debunked. The movement is no longer covert because the Insiders see their work, aided by puppet leaders and a corrupt press, as a fait accompli. Patriots keep your wits about you, and keep your powder dry!

“Some believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure—one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” -David Rockefeller, Memoirs, 2003

  65. Maggie, the bigger your perimeter, the more perimeter you have to defend. The more perimeter you have to defend, the less understanding you need to become. That’s just the way it is. Don’t feel guilty. A person who doesn’t work for a living still has a full time occupation aquiring what they need and want from the people they know. If that circle of friends is either not large enough or generous/gullible enough, they go looking for new friends. It’s their job. Jim, looks to be great stuff, man you pack a lot into a short essay. Got to reread a few times.

  66. @IS… I have done a search on myself and WAS shocked. Is why I have severed some family ties and have opted to use a new nickname. LOL.

  67. Who the “H” is this Maggie character? Hey Maggie, if you want to have a private conversation then do it somewhere else. Your writing is almost unintelligible, as if you are telling an inside joke or speaking to a friend on the phone.

You are not even sticking to the topic in the Blog. If you are so bored in the morning, then go for a walk and clear out your brains, because on this blog your constant commenting tells me you are no more than a lout looking for some recognition !!!

  68. The odds here are that flooding near the rivers and tributaries are going to continue throughout the coming days in spite of the rain finally having stopped.

In the Southeast corner of Missouri, where a swamp was drained in the early part of the 20th century, turning a wet wasteland in to a farming mecca, there is the first and largest of many lines of defense against the raging waters trickling then streaming then roaring down from the Ozarks. When the rising creeks and streams feed the St. Francis, Black, Current, and fabulous Castor Rivers, where we mountain folk spend most of the sun-drenched weekends in the summer drinking cold beer and fishing, but we watch with caution during these raindrenched times, when the waters pour into the channels that directs, or “diverts” those waters that once flooded what was once (and is always just ONE GREAT FLOOD away from being again) the alluvial floodplain of the Mississippi. Where the water is directed into the “Big Muddy” just south of Cape Girardeau. is a manmade hill that parrallels the waterway the locals just know as the Diversion Channel. Located just south of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, it has been there for almost a hundred years and I bet I am one of the rare people who know the full history of when and why it is there. But, I am not alone in knowing what will happen in the hours ahead.

When flooding of this proportion is a threat, farmers desperate to keep their farmlands dry and the fertile topsoil in place can be found there, placing mountains of sandbags along that levee. As a matter of fact, making sandbags is considered one of the highest of charitable efforts this time of year.

It is one event that tugs at my memory of childhood; waking to find that the “version channel” had broken “up near Scott City” and Daddy had to head to the Castor with the road district crew and try to help dam the Castor so it didn’t break the levee further south. We kids would get up and look at the rising water in the floodway ditch that was only yards in front of our house, knowing that our front lawn could be a lake soon, and that we might be able to take the rowboat out into the neighbor’s field and actually stay afloat in the lowest part. Being small children, we didn’t realize that our hope to see our neighbor’s field become a lake was his and my father’s worst nightmare. We didn’t understand that the odds were never in our favor when the “version channel” had broken.

I don’t know why this Hunger Games article has sent me on this memory lane journey except that in my opinion, Collins is a successful novelist because she recognizes the themes in life that play out again and again in many different venues. We studied Collins in my Professional Writing/Editing Classes, back in the day. She understands what makes people hurt and she knows how to put the words together in a way that elicits emotion.

Like her or not… she’s a darned good writer.

Oh, and the floodplain has its own idiotic villains.

The National Guard now walks the channel 24 hours a day during this kind of weather to keep the James Scott’s away. I actually dated an idiot who tore up the levee with his 4×4 truck one drunken night, but his name didn’t make it into the wiki books. His father paid the judge a wad of money to let his boy off easy. In the end, I wasn’t good enough or rich enough to date him and that’s a good thing. Corruption isn’t confined to the Capitol. The people with money always get a pass.

  69. I/S- In a way you are right, but it is very hard to read the conditioned belief system day after day. Such is the peril of living in a world of sleeping minds.

I submitted no conspiracy, Collins lives where she lives, Snowden is bloodline. Prescott Bush funded Hitler, they seem to accept that and can discuss it as fact yet anything from the current time period is off the table.

I am accused of “making noise” and beat about the head while FB and fainting news anchors get no response from Admin, which we thought interesting. I absolutely understand that Admin would not want this site to transform into something on the order of BIN. What I truly hope for is that the critical thinkers here, who have some promise of the courage to look behind the curtain, will take the time to read and accept that scripted events are just that. I can take anything that is thrown my way and endure it gladly if some will start to really think about the real workings of the world.

  70. @Bea… I don’t understand the fainting news anchor either… I’d hoped she died, which would at least elevate it to something more than a beauty queen taking too many diet pills.

As for my FB mini-melodrama… I simply was reminding myself here (and sharing the story with others because I truly do believe it is relevant in the twisted way my mind puts things together) — that MY LIFE and therefore EACH OF OUR LIVES is of grand significance beyond our own daily realm. Every single time we do something out of the ordinary, there is potential for consequences we don’t fully assess. And because it was a great opportunity for my pragmatic husband to tell me I TOLD YOU SO and remind me that being nice for the sake of being nice seems to bite me in the ass more than most people, I decided that I would tell people that even if you have limited your time on social media in these most disturbing times, you might want to go and clean up your old accounts.

No offense, Bea, but I really do have a copy of a family tree that shows I’m a Fitzgerald/Kennedy descendant. What does that make me? Other than a hillbilly wannabe.

  71. Is anyone having problems with the site? I can type about a letter every second or two, it keeps crashing, and asking me if I want a live version. Very long load times.

    1. The server company housing TBP has been under attack periodically since Christmas. There have been a number of 30 minute outages due to the attacks.

  72. Forgive me for this experiment, Admin. It is my first attempted video upload to TBP in a while and while it has very little to do with Hunger Games, it has everything to do with Odds being in MY Favor. I think you understand that I insist on taking your articles’ macro philosophy to the micro level in every aspect of my life.

And, Rump… if you have read this far, then it is because you LIKE what I write.

  73. I/S,
I think it’s a good thing that some of us suspect conspiracies everywhere, even though in some cases we’re bound to be proven wrong. Helps keep the government honest. If you stick to discussing what can be proven within the accepted paradigm, then it’s explainable in conventional terms, which tends to lead to conventional solutions, like voting. I don’t think that’s going to get us back to a constitutional republic. It’s true that we can’t affect what’s already history, but I’m hoping a few people will awaken to the existence of the political machine that allowed such things to happen. Not necessarily the masses, just the few percent who influence opinion or the ten percent who are the doers.

To all Snowden supporters: I’d really like to believe in him, I like the guy, it’s an inspiring story, he says all the things I want to hear. But I can’t shake the feeling that he’s at minimum being used by other parties. Like the contents of the material that he released; I’ve read security experts saying that he didn’t reveal any intelligence methods that weren’t either already known or highly probable, but he did so in a very dramatic way, and he continues to get coverage. Who benefits from Snowden being discussed in the mainstream media? Perhaps because people can’t self-censor if they don’t know that they’re being watched? Perhaps he serves as an example and warning to other government employees who might be thinking about speaking out about really inconvenient secrets? Perhaps by limiting the discussion to, well, the government is collecting telephone metadata to try to find patterns and identify terrorists, and if you’re okay with them doing that, then you have nothing to worry about, citizen. Anyway, do your own research if your interested, and draw your own conclusions.

  74. Bea, I should have realized you would make me go get the family tree. Tell you what… I am cleaning up a real mess in the chicken and bunny pens from all the rain. When I get that finished, I’ll see if I can’t find the old genealogy crap my mother handed me and see if I can’t give you a name. I know I have pictures of the headstones at the Fitzgerald/Hasty cemetery I visited not too long ago. (I have a morbid thing about cemeteries.), but would not be able to tell you which was my direct ancestor.

  75. And to think we could rid ourselves of these…moral and financial problems forever just by arresting, prosecuting and jailing a few psychotic, war mongering, neocon terrorists. They have no business being included in anything considered new and perhaps saving the Republic in the future either. After all the despicable things they’ve done not only to the middle east and the world at large, but especially to our own country. Just look at what these vermin have done since 2001. You want to know how to improve the world for everyone? Jail the neocons and their bankster enablers and dismantle and shrink the military/industrial complex…and our (financial and moral) problems are solved.

  76. Hey Maggie, I think I was #100 and did not realize it at the time. Woo-hoo ! That’s about all the excitement I need for one day.

  77. AnarchoPagan says: “To all Snowden supporters: I’d really like to believe in him, I like the guy, it’s an inspiring story, he says all the things I want to hear. But I can’t shake the feeling that he’s at minimum being used by other parties. Like the contents of the material that he released; I’ve read security experts saying that he didn’t reveal any intelligence methods that weren’t either already known or highly probable, but he did so in a very dramatic way, and he continues to get coverage.”
Glenn Greenwald was supposed to release a 2nd batch of documents that Snowden had given him. But after his (Greenwald) boyfriend was detained at Heathrow airport, he never released them (to my knowledge–someone correct me if that is not the case).

“The NSA has repeatedly said that it has no idea how many documents Snowden downloaded and has no way to find out. As the NSA itself admits, the 1.7 million number is not the number the NSA claims Snowden downloaded — they admit they don’t and can’t know that number — but merely the amount of documents he interacted with in his years of working at NSA. Here’s then-NSA chief Keith Alexander explaining exactly that in a 2014 interview with the Australian Financial Review:

AFR: Can you now quantify the number of documents [Snowden] stole?

Gen. Alexander: Well, I don’t think anybody really knows what he actually took with him, because the way he did it, we don’t have an accurate way of counting. What we do have an accurate way of counting is what he touched, what he may have downloaded, and that was more than a million documents.”

  78. The corruption in government is out of control! Even when caught, nobody gets punished!

US Attorney declines prosecution of former VA execs

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal prosecutors have decided not to press criminal charges against two former executives at the Department of Veterans Affairs who were accused of manipulating the agency’s hiring system for their own gain.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said Thursday it has declined a referral from the VA inspector general for criminal prosecution of Diana Rubens and Kimberly Graves.

The inspector general said in a report this fall that Rubens and Graves forced lower-ranking regional managers to accept job transfers against their will. Rubens and Graves then stepped into the vacant positions themselves, keeping their pay while reducing their responsibilities.

Rubens had been earning $181,497 as director of the Philadelphia regional office for the Veterans Benefits Administration, while Graves earned $173,949 as leader of the St. Paul, Minnesota, regional office. Before taking the regional jobs, Rubens was a deputy undersecretary at the VA’s Washington headquarters, while Graves was director of VBA’s 14-state North Atlantic Region.

Rubens and Graves were accused of obtaining more than $400,000 in questionable moving expenses through a relocation program for VA executives, the inspector general’s report said.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said it has “referred the matter to the VA for any administrative action that is deemed appropriate.”

Rubens and Graves were demoted in November, but their demotions were rescinded this month after a paperwork mix-up. The VA has said it will reissue the demotions after the problem is resolved.

  79. I don’t disagree AnarchoP but with Bea conspiracy seems to be his starting point for just about everything. Even if he’s right, so what? What can you do about it. I’m all for being aware of the world around us but our focus has to start local with shit we can control and influence.

Mainstream ‘Muricans look at you like your nuts if you tell them the banks caused the financial crisis. Throwing in a seven level diatribe about the Illuminati won’t help your case. That’s the point I was trying to make.

  80. I wonder the same things about Snowden AnarchoP. I’m disappointed (but not shocked) not only with the peoples reaction to his revelations but the lack of any real earth shaking revelations. His journalist friend kept/keeps saying that more will be released in due time but I sure don’t hear much about it. I think most of us here already more or less KNEW what the govt was up to before Snowdens revelations. Hell, I knew about Stellar Wind years before so in my mind Snowden merely confirmed suspicions. Doesn’t seem like much to throw your life away for in retrospect.

  81. Silverado, nice post. Rise up, that’s the kind of shit Silverado so aptly nails. I don’t know, maybe instead, we fire those filthy grifter whores, and PROSECUTE THEM TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW?

  82. I/S – Sorry to disagree but one cannot begin to change his view until one accepts the truth about those who control the levers of the Emerald City. Mostly all is done to further their pirating and criminal activity. I was happy back when I had a reasonable government and a puppet president we could believe in. It was just as much a lie as what is in motion today but things were tolerable.

OZ has always been Oz but you can’t enlighten people on a local level, keep dreaming.

These are but a few of the many parameters listed to help us identify this last great nation that the Lord calls BABYLON THE GREAT. America does now, or is in the process of fulfilling each and every one of them. No other nation upon the face of the earth can fulfill these parameters. AMERICA IS BABYLON THE GREAT. There would likewise be a series of SIGNS that would would begin to emerge that would give BIRTH TO, and WATCH THE RISE OF, as well as THE FALL OF AMERICA-BABYLON.

  84. Bea, I already do not believe or trust the govt. I KNOW they and the Wall Street oligarchs & scumbag bankers are out to fuck us at every turn. I’m pretty sure I instinctively knew that as early as high school. I don’t need to delve into every or any conspiracy theories anymore. I could not muster a lesser amount of respect for the govt than I already have.

I must be farther down the rabbit hole than you because at this point I’m convinced that there has never been a reasonable govt or president we could believe in since before I was born in ’66 and maybe not ever.

By local I meant attending to local things in your own life and community that you can influence and change. You’ll never convince anyone who isn’t naturally curious and seeking enlightenment….local or otherwise. With approx. 50% of the population on the take in one form or another there is no benefit to any of the sheople to know what is coming. There’s nothing they could or would be willing to do to change things anyway. I fully support them being on the take too not because I agree with it but because a complete meltdown and crash is actually needed to begin fixing things and the faster they destroy confidence in our currency the better. Even then I doubt we’ll get any of the kinds of fixes we here on TBP want.

With all of your money your poor can be fed
You strut around and you flirt with disaster
Never really carin’ just what comes after

Well your blacks are dyin’ but your back is still turned
And your freaks are cryin’ but your back is still turned
You better stop your hidin’ or your country will burn

And the time has come for you my friend
To all this ugliness we must put an end
Before we leave we must make a stand, oh

Mortgage people, you crawl to your homes
Your security lies in your bed of white foam
You act concerned but then why turn away
When a lady was raped on your doorstep today

Well your blacks are cryin’ but your back is still turned
And your freaks are dyin’ but your back is still turned
You better stop your hidin’ or your country will burn

And the time has come for you my friend

And before we leave we must make a stand, oh yeah

  86. An exceptionally rational, lucid, well written article! I came to this post via Lew Rockwell, but I have bookmarked Jim Quinn. I am 66 years old, and I am an optimist in all things except government. I have given up the hand wringing and have adopted the advice of the now deceased Harry Browne in his book How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World: (to paraphrase) There are lots of traps and one of them is the Government Trap, feeling that we are compelled to take up the cause of reforming government. None of us can predict how the current state of affairs will turn out, or even guess what we individually will live to see. But anxiety about the future should not cloud our vision of living our life to the fullest, in the present. Even in a very unfree and unfair world, there is still a terrific amount of joyful living possible to all of us–short of being in prison. BTW, I am usually appalled by the idiotic and nasty remarks in the Comments section of online political articles. So I was delightfully surprised at the civility and respect shown by most of the commenters on this post. Judging by your comments, many of you appear to be the kind of people I like as friends. By trade I am a travel writer, but you might enjoy an essay I wrote in 2012 “Beware the State” at 2. Happy New Year to all of you, and Jim, I look forward to reading more of your stuff. Your content is good, but you are also a talented writer.

  87. @ John:

I’m going over two blogs of yours:
    Financial Literacy Source
    and John Bechtel Blog.

I’m enjoying the reading, but it seems like you haven’t written much since 2014, and I don’t see any information achieving financial literacy.

Do you have another place where your writings are posted? Are you going to begin posting on these two blogs again in 2016?

  88. Merry Fucking Christmas and A Happy Nu Year to ya.

Just got back from someplace warm with steel drums in the background!
Excellent Christmas, probably my bestest ever.

I’ve not had a chance to more than glance through Admins writing here, but I will get to it in full. Preliminary findings suggest he never mentioned Trump’s name, weak, and puzzling! Since Mr. Trump is our future President!!
Ron Paul is but a blip in history, probably won’t even get an honorable mention in the history books, but we are still entertaining impossibilities, sweet!! Ron Paul is a foot note in history and Snowden is an illusion.

If Mr Snowden wanted to rise above the status of CIA counterintelligence agent he should have stood trial. A Paul Revere he is not, Paul Revere put his life on the line in contrast to Snowden who is a coward and unworthy of mention. If you are going to fall on a sword fall like a man, rather than a spineless parasite. Where is Snowden? What impact has Snowden had?
Answer is: hiding in Russia and none!

    1. Sensetti destroyed a few more brain cells drinking gallons of tropical alcohol. His incoherent gibberish gets more incoherent and asinine every time he posts. I wonder what he would have done if his apocalypse had occurred while he was in his tropical paradise? All those preps and plans to survive nuclear winter would have gone for naught.

The hypocrite blathers about the inevitable Fourth Turning apocalypse and in the next liquor drenched breath screams for all to vote Trump because he will save us. In the meantime, he goes on Christmas vacations to the islands.

Taking Sensetti’s drivel with anything but a grain of salt is necessary.

Sensetti wouldn’t understand the term patriot if it fell on his head. Patriots don’t hide in caves in the mountains as civilization burns. I await his episode of Doomsday Preppers where everyone gets to see what a nutjob he’s become.

  89. Someone, anyone, please challenge my ass concerning Snowden. What impact has he had? Nobody even remembers his name at this point! Snowden is irrelevant, prove it otherwise, show me how and where he made a real difference! What grand movement did he foster? Maybe he’s behind black lives matter, no, no, that movement was inspired by the robber of a convenience store! So Michael Brown has had more of an impact on our society than Edward Snowden!
Men that make an impact on history are not Ron Pauls, and Edward Snowden’s they are men like Mr Trump, courageous men that stand and fight!

Can you see Trump pulling a Snowden? Absolutely not!! Why? Answer that question and you’ll have a grasp of men that impact history!

  90. Sensetti- Happy New Year, glad you are back. I thought you were off on a drunken bender, nice to hear you were traveling.

I’m on the shit list again so nothing is new around here. I have turned over a new leaf and promised not to bash Trump for the whole month of January.

  91. Sensetti

You should layoff the sauce in the morning.

You are an intellectual pee wee and should stick to prepping for your apocalypse.

Please leave the thinking to people with three digit IQs.

Don’t you have a bedpan to empty?

  92. Everyone whined and cried cause poor Ole Ron Paul was robbed by the GOP when he ran for President! Let’s contrast that with Trump! He walked in turned the GOP’s tables over and told them to fuck off and then attacked the media because they did not report his interdiction fairly!

This Country doesn’t need Ron and Rand Pauls or Snowden’s! We need George Pattons, Douglas MacArther’s and Donald Trumps!

Wake up people, play the cards you have in your hand! Fuck idealistic ideas such as unicorn’s shitting skittles on streets of gold paved by libertarian ideals. Shits not gonna happen like that!!
Vote for Donald J Trump for President, he’s all you’ve got left!

    1. Tune in to the next episode of Doomsday Prepper where a sauced up Sensetti explains why he and Trump are patriots and real men. You’ll see him bench press 100 lbs. He’ll give you a tour of his cave. He’ll show you his moonshine maker where he has breakfast every morning.

Vote Trump!!!! He’s a real man, with a reality TV show, and real hair.

  93. B I’ll have to catch up to see why you’re on the shit list. Don’t worry you’re probably speaking truth to convoluted reasoning!

  94. Boy, I got to Admin. Awesome!

Looking Forward to 2016. It’s going to be an interesting year. I will beat the vote for Trump Drum till he drops out of the race or until he’s crowned King of the Free World. ?

    1. Sensetti

You’ve sort of become a running joke on TBP. I think people pay more attention to BB’s comments. They generally make more sense than your nationalistic apocalyptic drivel. 🙂

  95. Admin Arkansas is an awesome place when you come to visit I’ll show you around. But go ahead and explain to me how Ron Paul or Snowden have had a meaningful impact. Ten years from now no one will even remember their names. I know you wish it were different, but it is what it is.

    1. Sensetti

I could explain their impact to you, but you are too intellectually challenged to understand. The cumulative IQ of Arkansas doesn’t equal 100. Keep cheering for your team. By the way, didn’t your REPUBLICAN Senator vote for the $1.1 trillion Obama spending bill? Go team!!! 🙂

  96. Donald Trump’s IQ is reportedly 156 plus, Goggle it, my poor little 139 IQ makes me a worker bee! Oh well, you play the cards you’re dealt. Sitting around opining a different reality is insane,
Jump on the Trump Train, if nothing else, he’s shaking the system like no one in years. Actually it’s the people shaking the system, we’ve had enough! It would be foolish to say Trump is more of the same, he’s not and won’t be!

  97. I really did… I was friends with the high school counselor’s wife because I took piano lessons from her off and on, so I visited her the week before he was giving the test and while she was busy with the baby I peeked at the test materials. It pays to be trusted by those in positions of authority. Is one way to help the odds.

I’m not saying I’m not almost a genius naturally, I’m just saying I cheated. Whew! I’m so glad that is off my conscience.

  98. Maggie I took a legit IQ test at work a few months back, totally voluntary of course, and I scored 139! I was just elated to be in Tripple digits! But it is what it is, and it ain’t what it ain’t! Embrace reality, play the cards on the table! What else is there?

      1. Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter had off the charts IQ scores. They may have even been smarter than Sensetti. They must have been awesome Presidents. Right Arkansas genius?

      2. Sensetti wears this shirt in his bunker to make sure his horses know he has a 139 IQ.

Of course, the requirements to be an Arkansas genius is an 85 IQ and more than three teeth in your mouth.

  99. “Maggie I took a legit IQ test at work a few months back, totally voluntary of course, and I scored 139!” ——— Sensetti

    I call bullshit.

140 is Einstein genius level. You have given NO indication of that. If you’re at 139 … I really do have a 12 inch python on my pants.

Trump at 156??? Bull fucken shit. You lie!! Why? Just to “build up” your faux hero? Pathetic, bro.

  100. This is not apocalyptic drivel, it clear concise analysis

“The most disconcerting aspect of Fourth Turnings is they have always climaxed with total destructive all-out war. Not wars to enrich arms dealers like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, but incomprehensibly violent, brutal, wars of annihilation. There are clear winners and losers at the conclusion of Fourth Turning wars. Leaders mobilize all forces, refuse to compromise, define their enemies in moral terms, demand sacrifice on the battlefield and home front, build the most destructive weapons imaginable, and employ those weapons to obtain victory at any cost.

It may seem inconceivable that war on such a scale will happen within the next ten years, but it was equally inconceivable in 1936 that 65 million people would die in the next ten years during World War II. We valued all the wrong things and made all the wrong choices leading up to this Crisis and during the early stages of this Crisis. The accumulation of unmet obligations, unpaid bills, un-kept promises and unresolved issues will provide the fuel for an upheaval that will shake our society to its core and transforms the country’s direction for the next sixty years. The outcome of the conflict could be tragedy or triumph. Our choices will make a difference.

There will be war on many fronts, and they have already begun. The culmination will likely be World War III, with the outcome highly uncertain and potentially disastrous.”

  101. Stucky I’m just telling what the score was, belive or not! I thought it was a joke myself, number sequence’s and pictures asking you which one doesn’t belong or what’ number is next in this sequence!

About Trumps IQ , just Goggle it there’s a lot of reference’s

Donald Trump graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968, with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and anthropology. Mensa doesn’t accept SAT scores from after 1994. However Mr Trump was a student at Wharton when it was possible to derive an accurate IQ core from known SAT scores. Given the usual requirements for admission to a top school like Wharton, I estimate that Mr. Trump has a 156 IQ at the minimum.

    1. Sensetti doesn’t even know that Trump transferred to Wharton from Fordham and only did his last two years there. He happened to be hiding in college to avoid the draft. He then graduated and would have been sent to Vietnam. But the poor boy developed bone spurs in his tootsies and got a physical deferment. I’m sure his multi-millionaire daddy didn’t pull any strings for little Donnie.

Sensetti uses some bullshit article guessing at Trump’s IQ as his proof. A shit eating monkey’s opinion is just as valid.

  102. Sensetti- Notice that Admin (really nobody) answered your question about Snowden? Wonder why?

Like I said, I’m on the shit list so I’ll shut up for now. But really, why don’t they answer?

  103. @Stucky… I got a 146 in 1979 and I only cheated a LITTLE. I was Valedictorian of my Senior Class (of 32 students), so everyone already knew I was REAL SMART.

Then I went to Engineering school and learned what it felt like to be an idiot.

  104. Maggie, you are very smart!

Bea the reason no one will respond is because intelligent people know truth when they see it! Drop back, read my comments above, every word is true! Ron Paul attempted for years to do what Trump has done in six months, turn the GOP upside down. I believe most, or all, of Trumps success is due to the circumstances of this Fourth Turning, but never the less, it’s real, and it’s growing! People are fed up with politics as usual!

    1. I have zero respect for any asshole that pontificates on one of my articles without reading the article. Sensetti is proof that a little knowledge is dangerous. The dude goes on benders, disappears for months, throws his old lady out, builds bunkers in the hills of Arkansas, pontificates about nuclear war, and now tells the world to vote Trump because he’s a real man. Jesus – the stupid it burns.

  105. I took an IQ test and got bored so I filled in the circles

    in a random fashion…results? 123…I doubt that!!

I think these tests are inaccurate. Try passing the

    LSAT…good score? = you are a smartie. 110 is a

good IQ. If the test is properly administered.

  106. Admin, I would almost have to be insulted by the T-shirt above on behalf of my stepson, but because he had a wonderful stepmother who took him to a periodontist to save his teeth after his lesbian mother took his braces out with pliers, he only qualifies for the 85 IQ. HOWEVER, I’m delighted to report that hard work and effort go a long way in making a difference when the odds were always against him.

  107. Even high IQ persons can truly believe that buildings can fall down at near-freefall speed by themselves, right Admin? So IQ really does not count for that much in the great scheme of things.

  108. Sensetti is a poster boy for why marijuana should remain illegal.

There was a time when he wrote great stuff.

What happened. Pot. Pot makes you dumb.

    Actual x-ray of Sensetti’s brain

  109. Susanna, I took the GRE in 1999, scored 1485 which was more than good enough back then for getting into Grad School. The scoring is all different now so I have no idea what that would equate to… I also know I don’t care.

As for the IQ test? When I was in high school, I was a bit insecure about being the smartest in my class. I had this one guy who was always threatening to “beat” me out at Valedictorian and for some reason, I worried that if his IQ was higher than mine, they would give it to him and my scholarship would go away. Well, since I bombed my grades the first semester, the scholarship went away pretty quick anyhow, so taking a peek at the test sheets to get an idea of the topics to review before the IQ test is simply a bad mark on my personal character assessment and didn’t help me at all in the grand scheme of things.

  110. Admin says : Patriots don’t hide in caves in the mountains as civilization burns.

    Snowden, your hero, is where?

Never in all my years here have I ever once attacked you personally? That’s what people do when they know they cannot defeat ideas! Shameful exhibition on your part! The Wise all knowing manipulator of all things charts and number’s attacks a poor dumbass Irish prepper from Arkansas who likes to live life to the fullest extent!

  111. Admin says: The hypocrite blathers about the inevitable Fourth Turning apocalypse and in the next liquor drenched breath screams for all to vote Trump because he will save us. In the meantime, he goes on Christmas vacations to the islands.

I never said Trump would save us that’s total fucking bullshit, the rest is true!

  112. Stucky, I’m so disappointed in you! I’ve defended you so many times, offered you my motor home a few years back when you hit a ruff patch! Never have I attacked you, not once.

When your friends are willing to stab you in the back enemies are of little use!

  113. Thanks Sensetti !!

Good job, I think Admin has forgotten why he is mad at me. You got back just in the nick of time as he was getting ready to punch my ticket.

  114. Sensetti

CHILL OUT!!! Just having some fun with you.

I do think you’ve lost your mind regarding The Donald. He’s fun to watch BUT HE’S FUCKING MOONBAT CRAZY!! I’m just trying to save you.

  115. Stuck- Can I make a request?

Would you do something on the Book of Revelation ? I have been captivated by it since I was a kid.

Also what is your explanation of the man, the ox, the lion and the eagle? I spent a couple of years on that one, just curious what you were taught .

  116. Sensetti – chill pill, dude. Even I have not hit you hard as you deserve of late. The post where you said you run folks out of town for flying the flag upside down was some serious bullshit, and I only kicked you the once over it.

  117. Admin – read the article, finally. Very nice indeed. The comments veer off topic, no? Nice ass kicking you did, too.

John Bechtel says he appreciates the civility. John, you are in the wrong fucking place if you want civility.

Re the article, I agree there are things each person can do. It will probably not make a difference. Best to protect ones family as much as possible, and understand what comes will be diabolical.

I just finished putting in a water supply from my dams. I have enough water available to irrigate a substantial area. Drought is always possible down under – we are a continent sized dust bowl here, when it is not flooding, of course.

I have developed relationships with the surrounding farmers. They have been most supportive and welcoming to the greenhorn.

    Many thanks, Admin.

  118. @Sensetti, not attacking you but with respect to admin saying “You’ve sort of become a running joke on TBP.” I have to agree. It has nothing do with your deep throated Republican tendencies, warmongering or support for Trump. It has everything to with you posting drunken, idiotic rants with increasing frequency. From afar it appears clear that you likely have a growing problem with alcohol or other substances. In comparing the numerous comments you’ve posted in years past with more recent missives there has been a serious decline in coherent, on topic, intelligent comments out of you. Again, not trying to attack you but it might be time for some sober reflection. That being said, it’s your life. Live it as you see fit. Best wishes in that regard!

As far as opinions of Snowden go see my 12-29 @ 5:32pm comment above regarding my guarded opinion of Snowden. I think you’ll find it quite reasonable.

As far as Trump goes, we’ll see how things shake out after his Come To Jesus meeting with the real owners of this country. If he’s still in after that, bookmakers in Vegas will be giving odds on Trump’s untimely demise/assassination. Trump will shake things up which is good but TPTB prefer their minions to be compliant with well lubed assholes and unchapped lips. Trump does not fit the bill.

  119. @John Bechtel, Please read the comments carefully. This place can go sideways in a nanosecond and get quite nasty. Admin (Jim Quinn) believes wholeheartedly in free speech and……well……… careful. We aren’t referred to as Shit Throwing Monkeys for nothing!

Main thing to remember is not to post shit you aren’t prepared to back up. Protect yourself at all times and come out fighting! Oh yeah, never apologize!

    Apart from that………..Welcome!

  120. @LLPOH, are you an planning article about your doomstead? Also, can you disclose which quadrant or territory of Oz you live in?

I understand completely if you decline.

What was it like celebrating Christmas in the middle of summer? Assuming you were in Oz at the time of course.

  121. Bea Lever says: Also what is your explanation of the man, the ox, the lion and the eagle? I spent a couple of years on that one,

Two years? What, were you on THC? Don’t try to tackle animal farm, we’ll never hear from you again.

  122. What comes next?

USA Wisdom Network enables the Network Society development model and delivers the “1 USA” objectives of Economic Transformation and Government Transformation.

USA Wisdom enables the 3rd Industrial Revolution, distributed prosperity, distributed governance, economic transformation, government transformation, all-inclusive citizen empowerment, democratisation across every sector, regional/global integration and accelerates the shift towards a Network Society and a global humanitarian platform. Network Society consolidates all 8 types of capital underlying prosperity in few networks, rather than exponential fragmentation and centralisation of the Industrial Economy, at ‘Zero Marginal cost‘. Launch in 90-180 days. Transformation in 2-5 years.

    Additional information is available at

Network Democracy – real-time citizen participation across government, democracy and industry
Network Society comprehensively empowers people across every sector within society. It also empowers people beyond their own activities. People in a Network Society can have a profound impact on global governance with citizen participation around the world. Network Society enables real-time citizen participation and contribution across government, industry, democracy and corporations. Rather than citizen participation with a single vote for a political party or a yes/no question, technology can enable citizens to participate and and contribute daily on individual issues in industry, government, democracy across any organisation, institution or global project.

  123. “Also what is your explanation of the man, the ox, the lion and the eagle?” —- Bea

Rev 4 takes place entirely in heaven. These four “living beings” have ONLY ONE function according to Rev 4:8 ——- “Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”

I would think after 856 Billion Years (just to pick a legitimate random number) that someone is getting pretty damned bored. At any rate, whatever they are, they MUST be related to their position in heaven, and their One Big Responsibility.

In that regard, the explanation which makes the most sense to me is that each of the Living Creatures symbolically represents one of the four Gospels. That is, in fact, what the leading early church fathers did — they assigned “faces” to each of the Gospels.

    — Matthew’s audience is primarily Jewish. He paints a portrait of Jesus the fulfillment of the promised Royal Son Of David …. the Messiah King ….. hence, the Lion (of Judah) aspect of Jesus.

    — Mark’s audience is Roman. Jesus is portrayed as a lowly servant, hence the Ox.

    — Luke’s audience is Greek, the Hellenists, and Luke more than the other refers to Jesus as The Son Of Man … hence, the man face.

    — John’s Gospel soars above the others in theological pronouncements …. Jesus isn’t just born in a stable, he existed in heaven before time, the Eternal One, no longer just the Son Of Man .. but the Son Of God … depicted as an eagle.

Soooooo ….. rather than picturing these four living creatures as literally saying the same thing over and over for trillions upon trillions of years …… it is easier and more palpable to my senses to see them SYMBOLICALLY as representative of different facets of Jesus life, as depicted in the four Gospels, which are testimony to all the universe forever and ever.

That makes the most sense to me. Many disagree.

  124. I skipped Marcus’ comment. Who besides Maggie posts with they pic? This is a clubhouse with secret identities and bent thumb handshakes. Without those protocols this becomes just another corner beer joint.

OK, Marcus aside, Jfillet was an interesting flash in the pan. He lasted almost a week and got direct responses from Admin and HSF within 15 minutes of each other. Most folks here live out their lives without that life-changing experience.

It makes me a little sad to see the little fry go. I never saw Admin warn anybody like that. Jfillet and Bea in the same thread. Must be the weather.

  125. Great, Stucky. You make a lot of sense, as Paul said that he’d rather speak four words with intelligence than 1000 words nobody can understand.

One little niggle though, I would rather spend 854 billion years praising god than 2 minutes ruling in hell. Heathens always assume that praising god is boring.

Did you ever read of the oil immersion experiment? It reminded me of the person who said they hurt themselves to feel pain. Feeling nothing and seeing nothing but darkness is hell.

In heaven one sees and senses the creator and he is more marvelous than all his creation, and according to some, the universe is quite marvelous. I don’t believe a person could compass the person of god in less than a few billion years. The chants are praise but they are exclamations of wonder as well.

It makes me sad to hear people repeating that devil’s lie about heaven being boring.

Look, if your worried about the time, you won’t have any other appointments. And Hawkins suggested that if time stops at the event horizon, then you are on pause forever holding the same thought.

I wish I could freeze that one moment and my joy looking at my beloved forever.

  126. Sensetti says:
“I will beat the vote for Trump Drum till he drops out of the race or until he’s crowned King of the Free World.”

Or until something “happens” to him. I think it would be a historical milestone (and I’m talking millennia here), if Trump got anywhere near the reins of power without something happening to him. The guy can’t be bought, he has everything he wants. Although it remains to be seen if he can be threatened.

The two things I like about him, and the reason I’d vote for him, is because he said “I can work with the Russians.” All those other psychos except Rand Paul what to go to war with Russia. Farting idiots. And because during the first debate he came right out and said he buys politicians, “And that’s whats wrong.”

  127. “Stuck- Can I make a request? Would you do something on the Book of Revelation ?”
    ————– Bea

You don’t ask for much!! I’ve been fascinated by it since childhood also. But, can’t do it. Too Big a topic. Besides, why ask me? Our belief systems are not well aligned. You would almost certainly disagree, probably vehemently, with anything I write.

But I’ll give you my 50,000 foot overview.

    1. Revelation is a prophecy … says so right in Rev 1:3.

    2. But, prophecy simply means “”speaking the mind of God.” A prophecy MAY predict the future, or it may not.

    3. I believe Revelation speaks of the SHORT TERM future … measured in years, or decades only.

    4. That means I believe the prophecies in Revelation are meant ONLY FOR THE PEOPLE LIVING AT THE TIME.

    5. Specifically, it was written to The Seven Churches in what is today Western Turkey. And all that was written would “SOON COME TO PASS” …. soon!!, which is stated in several places.

    6. The style of writing is “apocalyptic” …. a form heavily dependent on using symbols, images and numbers. Why write this way? Because the church was under severe persecution. Jerusalem was burned to the ground, the Temple destroyed, thousands upon thousands died. John himself was a prisoner of the Romans. He needed to communicate to these forlorn and persecuted Christians. However, he clearly could not do so in plain language. So he wrote in Code, apocalyptic code. John’s writings was complete nonsense to his Roman captors. However, the Christians (which were still mostly Jewish converts) would be very familiar with the Old Testament apocalyptic writings and would be able to understand all of it, SYMBOLICALLY.

    7. Lastly — and I just know you will love this — this means that I believe Revelation has absolutely NOTHING to do with the 21st Century …. or any other century other than the one it was written in. Over the centuries, there have been literally thousands of fanciful interpretations of Revelation … each generation believing the book applied to THEIR generation! This simply cannot be true, logically. And in this century Christians believe even the USA!USA!USA! is mentioned (Russia too!!) and that John describes a nuclear war. This is nothing but fanciful bullshit.

That’s all I have to say about that.

  128. IndenturedServant says:
“As far as Trump goes, we’ll see how things shake out after his Come To Jesus meeting with the real owners of this country. If he’s still in after that, bookmakers in Vegas will be giving odds on Trump’s untimely demise/assassination. Trump will shake things up which is good but TPTB prefer their minions to be compliant with well lubed assholes and unchapped lips. Trump does not fit the bill.” Exactly.

re Sensetti, I’m guilty too …of drinking and postng. But what better way to watch Rome burn, than with drink in hand?

It looks like we were all born to live through this Crisis. How crazy (awesome?) is that? No boring old age for us, I’m sorry to say.

Admin, great article, and jibs with what I’m seeing and feeling. This is another one I’ll print out for my boss, thx.

  129. Stucky- I have been working on this for a long time and I have looked at it from your side and from the masonic side which encompasses the mysteries. That is my specialty as I have studied some of the old text. You say Revelation only refers to short term (measured in years or decades), but what would you say to only a couple of days? Time differential between the Earthly plane and heaven is one day to one thousand years, so there has been but two days of the Lord since the prophecy.(Genesis 1and 2 Peter 3:8, also Psalm 90:4).

You should understand that the hidden hand was here in the least 13,000 years ago, which is relevant for the second question about the man, the ox, the lion and the eagle. Your answer was very typical of someone with your training, sometimes you will get the answer that it refers to the Four Evangelists.

The Sphinx in it’s original form before time eroded the exterior was the front arms and paws of a lion, the head of a man, the rear portion of the body a ox and on the sides, the wings of a eagle. Does this in any way enter into the picture in your studies? Could Revelation be referring to this time here and now?

  130. “Time differential between the Earthly plane and heaven is one day to one thousand years, so there has been but two days of the Lord since the prophecy.” ———— Bea

Why not 999 years? Or, 1,001 years? Or, 10,000 years? I do not believe it’s a mathematical formula. No, not at all. If it were, one could figure out exactly how “old” God is! Rather, it is a figure of speech which shows the difference between earth (where there is time) and heaven (which is eternal and timeless).
“The Sphinx in it’s original form before time eroded the exterior was the front arms and paws of a lion, the head of a man, the rear portion of the body a ox and on the sides, the wings of a eagle. ” —-Bea

I couldn’t find ANY such description of the Sphinx from a credible source on the internet. So, no, it does not figure into my thinking because I don’t know what you’re talking about.

  131. Stucky- So the Bible plainly states that one day in heaven equates to one thousand years on Earth and you say it is a figure of speech? OK (But how did you arrive at that conclusion?)

The mysteries are not available under quick searches on the internet, you have to be a little flexible here Stuck.

  132. EC, you finally wrote something I’m going to plagiarize.

    EC SAID:

It makes me sad to hear people repeating that devil’s lie about heaven being boring.

Look, if your worried about the time, you won’t have any other appointments. And Hawkins suggested that if time stops at the event horizon, then you are on pause forever holding the same thought.

I wish I could freeze that one moment and my joy looking at my beloved forever.

  133. @Stucky, I don’t like to discuss it much, but at one time I did a great deal of Bible study for a book project. I agree with what you point out about Revelation not being about the 21st century.

But, using EC’s “delicious” word, one little NIGGLE… so much of the Bible is foreshadow, it is sometimes difficult to eliminate the possibility for prophecy.

But, definitely Russia is there and USA is NOT.

  134. “Stucky- So the Bible plainly states that one day in heaven equates to one thousand years on Earth and you say it is a figure of speech? OK (But how did you arrive at that conclusion?)” ———– Bea

I guess you want me to conduct a Bible study / grammatics?

How do I know? Because of the word “AS” !!!

Peter does NOT say — ““With God one day IS a thousand years and a thousand years IS one day.” No! What he wrote was —- “Beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is AS a thousand years, and a thousand years AS one day”

The word “as” used in this construct points to a figure of speech known as “simile”. We use it all the time in our daily lives; “bb is as dumb as a box of rocks”. So, is bb a rock? Of course, not. A simile makes sense only if one understand the literal difference between what is being compared. If there were no difference, then it would be meaningless to use such a figure of speech. When Jesus said that he would like to gather us “as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings” … does that mean Jesus is a chicken? When Jesus refers to himself as a lamp unto the world, what do you envision … a GE lightbulb? Let common sense rule.

It ANNOYS me to no end to constantly see people rip a single passage of Scripture to “prove” whatever point they want to make … while totally ignoring the context surrounding the passage. This can only lead to false, if not ridiculous, interpretations.

The context of 2 Peter 3 has to do with “scoffers” in the last days saying, “Where is the promise of His (Jesus’) coming?” Peter wanted the church to know that “the Lord is not slack concerning His promise” of returning. Nicely sandwiched between these thoughts is the idea that time does not affect God’s promises. Whether 100, or 1,000, or 2,000 years go by, God’s promises are as good as if He made them …. yesterday. It is only with men whereby the passing of long periods of time affects their keeping of promises. But, not with God! THAT is the idea Peter wanted to pass on, that God will do what He said He will do, no matter how much time passes, because time has no bearing with God because “a thousand years are LIKE a day” …. symbolically, not literally.

More Context – and More Math Problems For You

Furthermore, Peter is quoting from Psalms 90, which in verse 4 states —– “For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or AS A WATCH IN THE NIGHT.”

A Biblical “watch in the night” is about 4 or 6 hours! So, which is it,Bea? Are a thousand years like 24 hours, or 6 hours? Anyway, if a thousand years is 4 hours, you have a lot of recalculating to do!!

Sorry for any typos or grammar errors. In a big rush here …. we’re leaving in just a few moments and won’t be back until the afternoon.

  135. tayronachan says: “It looks like we were all born to live through this Crisis. How crazy (awesome?) is that? No boring old age for us, I’m sorry to say.”
Edgar Cayce said humans reincarnate in groups and the present Americans are reincarnated from Atlantis (as well as other epochs). He also said Atlanteans destroyed themselves with their own technology–a massive earth upheaval that sank the majority of their continent.

  136. IndenturedServant says: “As far as Trump goes, we’ll see how things shake out after his Come To Jesus meeting with the real owners of this country. If he’s still in after that, bookmakers in Vegas will be giving odds on Trump’s untimely demise/assassination. Trump will shake things up which is good but TPTB prefer their minions to be compliant with well lubed assholes and unchapped lips. Trump does not fit the bill.”
What if Trump IS the “real owners” of this country’s choice? Maybe they figure he could be the iron fist they need to maintain control and since he already has much popular support, they can easily steer him to their evil ends.

    Just sayin’…

  137. [email protected], I don’t like to discuss it much, but at one time I did a great deal of Bible study for a book project. I agree with what you point out about Revelation not being about the 21st century.” ———Maggie

Indeed! Our viewpoint is known as “preterist”. There are four schools of thought regarding the proper interpretation of Revelation.

—- IDEALIST …. Views Revelation (and, Dniel) mostly as symbolic pictures of eternal truths about good and evil. I believe this is the primary methodology of the Catholic Church.

—- HISTORICIST …. Revelation/Daniel is a symbolic story of future history spanning the days of Daniel until the end of the millennium (which follows the second coming of Jesus). They attempt to match the symbols and actual events of history that progress through time.

—– FUTURIST ….. EVERYTHING in Revelation takes place just before the Second Coming of Jesus and onward from there. They recognize the intense symbolism in Revelation/Daniel, while at the same time attempt to “literalize” as much of it as possible. The predominant view of American Protestants, Evangelicals, Fundies, …. Which has led to one of the most ridiculous “religious” books of all time, “The Late Great Planet Earth”

    — PRETERIST …. That would be me (and, you?). This method of interpretation takes the position that almost everything in Revelation is about contemporary events of John’s time. This position is highly unpopular with the other three schools.

    NOW I’m outta here. Really.

  138. But, but, but,…. you didn’t address my foreshadowing comment!!!

I wanted to say something about Snowden here, Rockefeller ties or not.

I knew someone very much like him when I was in the Air Force. I was working in an office responsible for keeping the proficiency records of crewmembers during the Desert Storm buildup and war (if you want to call it a war — it was more of a forced evacuation of the Iraqis from Kuwait and a lot of bombs being dropped to make a point).

Now, some of you may or may not remember, but there was an incident where a UN helicopter was shot down and an AWACS Weapons Officer was Courts Martialed as being responsible. About ten minutes after that happened, I was called back in from home (I was very pregnant at the time and had left early with a terrible back ache, but when called, I came back in. I could tell it was important.)

I spent the next two days going through every single record of every single person deployed (not just on that airplane) to Saudi and Turkey. I’m not going to tell you what I was looking for or what we did when we found anything.

However, back to Snowden. One of the troops who was there was a very upright sort of guy who was a surveillance troop (track dots versus direct dots) who had asked for and received an extension of his enlistment while deployed. He’d wanted to just re-enlist while he was there but due to some administrative snafu, he couldn’t re-enlist in “theater” but could only extend for 90 days at a whack. (He happened to work in the same office with me as an additional duty when he wasn’t flying, so since I was pregnant and grounded, I ended up doing a lot of the paperwork for the guys who were deployed.) I remember telling him on the phone that he could NOT re-up there to get his re-enlistment bonus in time for Christmas and he was really upset, because he wanted that bonus money in time to send gifts home to family and have for his wife, just in case.

Well, he was on the surveillance team on the airplane with the weapons officer accused of directing the UN helicopter shootdown. After the incident, the entire crew had been held there until a full investigation was conducted and by the time they were released and brought back to the states, his extension time had ended and technically, he wasn’t even in the Air Force any more.

I had his paperwork for him to sign as soon as he came in to extend him until his re-enlistment could be performed.

He looked at it and took me back into the classified closet where all the double dog secret stuff was stored and talked about. He told me everything he knew about that incident and told me that he’d told the investigators the same thing. He said that he wasn’t going to re-enlist any more. He said he was a free man and he was going home.

    And he did.

When I look at Snowden, I see him.

  139. the very casual use the the term “assassination” with reference

to a presidential candidate is disturbing. apparently, for many

responding here, the potential for that event is ho-hum.

What do this mean? Could it be that a president doesn’t matter,

and is just a repository for polar opposites to park their love feeling

or conversely their hate? Perhaps we should just spend our time

doing what is best for our family and community? The richie-rich DC

greater community is largely a private facility with virtual walls that

leave us out. Hunger games may be the plan for us. Zones. Go look that

up. Planned zones for the US.

  140. It was a big deal in the past and could earn you a visit from the FBI. After Hillary implied that with regards to BO, it became a sheik topic for tea parties, like what Caitlyn is wearing to Hillary’s inauguration ball.

If The Donald was to get whacked, it would make him into a martyr like JFK and his successor would see to it that Da Trump legacy became law.

An aborted Camelot II would spawn a reverse Great Society called the Great White Society with a concommitant rollback of social programs and introduction of Work Makes Free affirmative action programs for minorities.

  141. Suzanna , Molyneux is my favorite anarchist atheist… can’t wait to watch that vid, but will download it first and watch it on a bigger monitor.. but not now since I’m already over bandwidth allowance.

  142. Stucky- Thanks for your input on the question, O Learned One. I am not convinced that there is no connection at all to our time with regard to Revelation but there is no attempt on my part to make it fit into current events.

It is for sure that the parlance of our time is in no way comparable to biblical times or even 150 years ago. Esoteric mysteries are most interesting but you will rarely find another student in a lifetime. Still hope you would do a little something on the subject just because it is so mysterious.:)

  143. Rise Up, you made me laugh out loud with that one… and, in honor of the New Years’ festivities, I’ve sent off a request to an old, old friend to send me a long discarded picture that my husband loathes and told me he never wants to see again. But, hey… what’s the viewership here these days? a couple hundred thousand? Who’s to know?

  144. None… I promise. He has to scan and email it though. Is very retro… taken with 35 mm film. Do you remember when you had to have your film developed???

  145. Some time ago. Back then, I tried to get a roll developed at Costco. They refused because I had a picture of a GF all nude-like in bed. Shit, now you can make your own sex tapes movies and publish them online.

I got the pic printed at the camera shop. What was all the fuss? BTW, a picture doesn’t lie like lying eyes. All the time I thought she beautiful, she was a hound dog, if the picture is to be believed.

  146. LOL… I know what you mean. My pal hasn’t sent the image yet. It may be when we return from ringing in the New Year in the hills, literally. A friend has a lake on his property and we are going to shoot off fireworks a hoot and holler like a bunch of hicks.

    Which we are.

Well, they are… Nick and I are infiltrating.

  147. TPB Monkeys – I know I said I was gone. Truth is, I really mean it. Still do. I will only come back when (if) Admin says so.

However – in the meantime – like Al Pacino in Godfather 3: “Just when I thought I was out… I keep getting drug back in”. Ugggh…

Yes – I have had my disagreements with the “big dogs” here. And yes, sometimes, I would like to pull a “Sean Penn” on them and beat their asses with full soda-pop cans inside of a pillow-case like in the movie “Bad Boys”.

And yes, I keep coming back to Sandy Hook – because Snow-bama can not create “Panem-murica” unless he takes the guns first. Also, I always question the media narrative about everything, ya know?

And yes – I am random and don’t think everything through like a lot of monkeys here before I post. Instead – I always looked at it more like a “active process” as opposed to figuring it all out first like, perhaps, DC Sunsets, Drud, and Indentured Servant. My bad on that.

In any case – we have a foot of snow on the ground and I would rather be snowmobiling under the moonlight right now… and I will be soon… but I need to say this for now…

On some of the other threads here (Marijuana Truth, etc) , there are two (2) whom I think the big dogs here need to take out. Archie and Joey.

Some may think these are me because “Archie” of the comic books has “red hair” like me. And “Joey” is Maggie’s son’s name.

But they are NOT me! Admin can have the “Man With No Name” check the IP addresses. Archie talks to EL C about “rabbits:, etc which is a carryover from past my past conversations here with both EL C and Maggie. And – the “Joey” name creeps me out.

Big Dogs – chase these assholes off. Don’t trust them. They seem like feds and they seem to be piggy-backing upon my past shit here.

Maybe I am paranoid. If so – I apologize. But my system has been under attack for weeks now.

No matter – just keep your “eyes open” on these fuckheads.

Just wanted to say this. In the meantime…, Happy New Year, everyone.

    NOW – I am gone… again…

  148. suzanna says:

“the very casual use the the term “assassination” with reference

to a presidential candidate is disturbing. apparently, for many

responding here, the potential for that event is ho-hum.”

I think it is the loss of trust in our elected leaders. We’ve been lied to so much by those in power in Wash DC, that trust is gone. It’s almost like the people are now acting/feeling like an abused dog backed into a corner, and all it wanted was a little love. Wait! Is that sorry ass dog is starting to show it’s teeth? Ah…no, not yet I think.

  149. llpoh – I won’t hold my breath. I blew it with Admin. My deal. I banned myself. Truth is – it was all for your own protection. Now, I gotta go… Keep rockin’. U got this. Just chase off Archie and Joey and it’ll be cool. No one can do it better than you, my friend. TTYL… 🙂

  150. PS – if they

U ever need my help, I’ll B here. Just say “jellly-fish”. Please know I got your back, man. G’nite…

  151. JFish

You will live in infamy here on TBP, despite your short stay here. You are one of the weirdest dudes ever to walk amongst us. Ever.

  152. Says the online interpreter of the Book of Revelation. No biggie. But keep in mind that no society in all of history has had the technological capability to control the buying or selling with a “mark” (Revelation 3:17).

This seems exclusive to our world today. Therefore, it is possible that Revelation could apply to the 21st century?

    Just a thought…

  153. Llpoh says: JFish – I would not hold my breath waiting for the Admin to invite you. You are not banned. Be happy with that.

LLPOH is such a softie, how touching. Actually that is why we love the big guy. Behind that tough bucket o’ nuts exterior is a bucket of nails interior but once in a while we see a glint of humanity in his soul.

Jfillet, admin gave you a verbal warning, usually folks don’t even get that. Most of the time Admin’s warnings take the form of a hard kick in the nuts. He must be in a good mood this week. Do not test his New Year’s resolution next week.

  154. Okay, I had my pal go back into the archives and find a more appropriate image, but it is still a good one I think you will appreciate.

Maggie, circa 1982, ready for Halloween!

  155. And see, EC? No nipples. Just bare back and tan lines. Admit it, women are much more attractive when covered up with only their back exposed, suggesting something worth pursuing.

Is why the movies of the 40s and 50s are still so damned enchanting.

And why the odds now are not in our favor. (see, Admin…? I’m working HARD to stay on topic. and I have another nice picture of me to share if this one brings in any donors.)

  156. and the odds for victory are getting worse.

    “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed;
if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may
come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

CALL TO ACTION: All able body men and women come to Burns, Oregon on or before January 2nd. Come prepared and be willing to stand.

    Dear Friends,

An update on the Hammond’s and Harney County is well overdue. I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas. I personally enjoyed the sweet spirit of the Lord as I contemplated His birth and what it means to all of us. I love the Lord and know he lives and guides us each day, if we allow Him to.

As most of you are aware I have spent many days in Harney County working with the Hammond’s and the good people of that area. I have gained a great love for them and seen what good people they are. Over the past few decades they have been experiencing a great change in their livelihoods and community dynamics.

Once they were a highly productive people with the highest incomes in the State of Oregon, well above the national average, now they rival as the poorest county in the state. Their average income has dramatically dropped $22,000 under the national average.

Once ranching and logging thrived and produced many jobs and opportunities, these industries were spawning a hopping economy with everybody in the county being the beneficiaries. Harney County’s labor force is now at its lowest point since the 1960’s.

As Amy Hsuan from The Oregonian wrote: When times were good, logging trucks and recreational vehicles burned rubber down the pavement, now the roads are starved of vehicles. Shuttered businesses sit on their shoulders. There are no new jobs in sight. An old mill, formerly operated by Louisiana Pacific, sits idle under the weight of it’s collapsing roof. Next door, a giant shed once used by a mineral processor has sat rusting.

“People were leaving and they never came back,” says Art Ayre, a state employment economist. Young families with children are becoming a rarity in a county with few family-waged jobs. Commissioner Grasty keeps a database of kids who’ve graduated from Burns High School. Every now and again, he’ll send them a letter, asking when they will return. He has yet to get a response.

So what happened to Harney County? Since the first pioneers until the 1970’s, the Harney Basin was a high producing area with a robust economy. After gaining almost complete control of the ranches and land user the U.S. Government took on a new approach to land use. They expanded the no use areas putting most of the ranchers and loggers out of business. The ones they allowed to remain, they regulated them to the point that many closed their doors.

As the wonderful Suzie Hammond wrote in 1990, (an article to the people); The grief and heartache caused these families as they were forced out of business or forced to began to build a new operation, will never be fully known. She went on to write; the economic impact was significant, not only to the local communities but also to Harney County as a whole.

Simply put, the federal government has adversely stolen the lands and resources from the people, destroyed thousands of jobs, and the economy of an entire county. Now anyone who has enough guts to stand against them, they annihilate through their own court systems. The Hammonds are a tragic symptom of a gross violation. The U.S. Government has forced the people from their rights and then claimed the people right for their own benefit and power.

The ranching and logging industries were only a start, since then these modern day conqueror’s (federal agencies) have moved onto the housing, banking, auto, manufacturing, financial and the list goes on and on and on. I do not need to say much more, it is time to change the tide before the people become too weak to stand. We are presently at a dividing point in history and must choose how the future of our children and our children’s children will lay out. I and many that stand with me are asking that you come to Harney County, be prepared, and be willing to make a stand.

    It is time!

  157. Caveat – Now, I’ll admit I didn’t read through every single one of these posts, but I did read most of them… and nothing jumped out at me re: the following…

I also know that Admin wrote this article. It’s a good one, but Jim should not be exempt from scorching commentary simply because he runs this website. Fair is fair.

    That said….

Jeezus H. Khrist, peddling a bike, on his way to Mass, passing a busload of grannies! YOU BUNCH OF BLIND CHUMPS! You just got played… and nobody noticed.

Maybe you noticed on a subliminal level and didn’t formally recognize it… who knows…

    What am I talking about?

An article about us being manipulated, while manipulating us the whole time.

I guess manipulation is okay, so long as Jim thinks his intentions are noble and he’s the one doing it… they can even couch their manipulation in an article ABOUT other people manipulating us! And not one single one of you all noticed it…

Perhaps Jim didn’t notice the original manipulation and happily used THG as an example… I’m likely to think the latter – I don’t think he sees what I see, and while he’s smarter than a whip, all of us have a derp moment now and again…

For a bunch of people who think they’re adept at seeing through the bullshit, you guys sure wiffed this one…

“But Billy! You’re just an ignorant country hayseed! And a fuckin’ RAAAYCISS! Other juvenile namecalling! I didn’t get chumped! Where exactly is this chumping taking place??! You’re full of shit!”

Oh ho! So quick to say I’m full of shit? Let’s play Connect the Dots – or at least delve down through the layers of bullshit to get to the aforementioned chumping… once you learn to see these things for what they are, you cannot unsee them. Here, take this blue pill.

    1. Article bitching about us being manipulated uses The Hunger Games to illustrate parallels between our own world and a dystopian future… let’s look at that, shall we?

    The Hunger Games.

The above article opens with this —> “The dystopian series tackles real issues like severe poverty, starvation, torture, oppression, betrayal and the brutality of war. It doesn’t fit into the standard film making success recipe of feel good fluff, politically correct storylines and happy endings.

    Doesn’t have ‘politically correct storylines’?

    It DOESN’T?

    No shit and for real?

And “happy endings”? We’ll get to that, but let’s look at the original statement.

The Hunger Games is NOTHING BUT “political correctness”…

    A. “Good Guy” who symbolically leads the revolution and inspires the poor proles to overthrow the “Bad Guys”?

A woman. Not even really a woman – a girl. With a bow and arrow.

Now, what does this say on it’s face? Since manipulation is all about symbolism over substance, let’s take that head on.

In the history of the world, I can think of perhaps TWO – exactly TWO – instances where females have inspired and led any sort of rebellion, fight, push back, war, battle or conflict in any way, shape form or fashion.

    Two. In all of history.

The first being Boudica, ‘queen’ of the British Iceni tribe who fought against the Romans about 2000 years ago. Interestingly, her old daddy was an ally of Rome and left his kingdom to his daughters. The Romans blew that off and took their shit, so she led the revolt. Good for her.

The second being Joan of Arc. We all know how that turned out.

Other than that, I can think of no major female players on the world stage…

So the odds (heh) of some girl with a quiver full of pointy sticks – no matter how disconcertingly beautiful – is going to “lead” a revolution with the Boy Scout salute? Right. Sure. Okay.

It’s literally displacing the strong male Hero archetype and replacing him with GIRL POWER!

The bow itself? I bash it because the “Good Guy” (girl) uses a bow. A thinly veiled effort at “Woman as Goddess”. You guys remember Artemis?

“Wait… what? The fuck are you on about, you stupid redneck?”

Artemis? Also known as Diana? Goddess of the hunt? Archery? Any of this ringing a bell?

Well, HOLY SHIT! Who does that look like??!

    And a BOW?!?

“Good Guy” (girl) uses a bow… “Bad Guys” use GUNS! And fighter jets. And bombs. And other tech…

Let’s look at the “Bad Guys” now…

    President SNOW?!?

    Really? Fuckin REALLY!?!?

An old WHITE dude – smooth talking and quietly menacing – with WHITE hair – with the name SNOW???

Come the fuck ON! It couldn’t be any more cliched if you named the bad guy Snidely Whiplash…

Bad Guy No. 2 is President COIN.

Really? Coin? As in “Money is the root of all evil?” Who also happens to be a white chick with going-white hair…

    Seeing a pattern here?

Howabout the “good” players from the first Hunger Games movie?

Katniss gets “saved” by a wee little bi-racial female who somehow figures out that dropping bees (or whatever) on the hunters – bees that are hanging almost literally right next to “Our Hero” in the tree – is probably a good idea…

Other time she gets “saved”? Black male. Revenge killing for the killing of the wee little biracial female…

Message? It’s okay for non-whites to tribe up and revenge kill for each other – but the whites tribing up to eliminate those who would eliminate them is BAD….

    End Part 1.

  158. Part II.

“Dude! You’re a conspiracy theory nutbag! And a rayyyciss! Other bad names! Why should I listen to you?”

    Because I’m right.

So, we have the strong male Hero archetype being replaced with a girl. Since the bad guys use guns, and guns are ‘bad’, our hero has to use a bunch of pointy sticks because she’s the modern day incarnation of Artemis/Diana and has to fulfill the Goddess role…

Secondary players are also not exempt.

White dude assigned to “help” Katniss? An alcoholic fuckup.

Guy who designs the completely-awesome outfits she wears? Black guy – probably a GAY black guy…

Doctor “helping” people when they get bombed into dog food? Black female.

ALL the primary and secondary players in this series are so blatantly, OBVIOUSLY ‘politically correct’ it’s literally nauseating…

This movie manipulates you with political correctness from the first moment and does not let up until the end credits roll…. to say that it does not have politically correct storylines is myopia on a breathtaking level.

And because this movie almost goes out of it’s way to manipulate you, using it as an example only exacerbates the manipulation… which I find funny as hell, being as the one of the main gripes Jim makes is about BEING MANIPULATED…

And not one single one of you caught it…

Granted, there is a great deal of truth and wisdom in Jim’s article… but to use such a blatantly obvious politically correct series of movies as an example of NOT POLITICAL CORRECTNESS only torpedoes the greater portion of the article…

The movies harp on stuff that we all bitch about – corruption, evil, obfuscation of the truth, political machinations, maniacal power hungry assholes, war, economic hardship – and thus it’s easy to rally behind these movies…

But what are you rallying behind?

You’re rallying behind a celebration of the replacement of the traditional strong white male Hero Archetype and his replacement with Girl Power Goddesses. Blatantly obvious Tarzan-level ‘guns bad’ anti-gun propaganda. That white people are evil and not to be trusted. That non-whites are noble and good and usually spend their time saving whites. That non-whites tribing up is fine and all, but anytime whites do it, it’s bad and evil and raaaaayyyyycissss….

And that’s why you lot got chumped…

    All of you.

  159. NB Sorry, forgot to address “happy endings”…

Anyone ever read “The Hero with a Thousand Faces”?

It’s a book about how most cultures from antiquity to the recent present have the same hero – same qualities, etc – and sends them on a journey where they must endure extreme hardship before overcoming whatever antagonist is in the story – often losing his life in the process, sacrificed nobly for the greater good.

THG not only replaces that Hero with a little girl, but demonizes that Hero.

The little girl goes on to kill The Big Bad, while the rampaging mob kills The Other Big Bad – both Big Bad’s being white people… the implication is that now that the Evil White People are gone – President Snow the Official Patsy Stand-in For All White Males is dead and President Coin the Official Patsy Stand-in For Money defeated and rejected – the world can go back to balance, right over wrong, good triumphs, blah, blah, blah…

This is not a “happy ending”?

  160. Okay, Billy, I think you have a point, but perhaps you are reading something into this of which I am not completely sure. (I was going to add “of” but that is a preposition and the grammar nazis may be out today in force.)

I haven’t seen any of these movies or read any of these books, so you’ll have to forgive me for being a bit ignorant of the characters beyond what Admin and you describe.

    End of my intro:

  161. Flash says: “CALL TO ACTION: All able body men and women come to Burns, Oregon on or before January 2nd. Come prepared and be willing to stand.”

I read a report yesterday (can’t find it now) that said the Hammonds don’t want those militias to get involved. Apparently this “Call to Action” isn’t sanctioned by the Hammonds or others in Burns, OR.

I lived not far from Burns in the late 70’s/early 80’s (in Bend, OR), and it’s desolate high-desert country. Lots of BLM scrub land. Back then was also the scandal of the Rajneeshee commune cult incidents. Those ragheads were toting serious firepower.

“The tale is stranger than fiction. Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, a guru from India, gathered 2,000 followers at a remote Eastern Oregon ranch. Arriving in search of enlightenment, the Rajneeshees became a political and social force that collided with traditional Oregon. Ultimately, the conflict led to attempted murder, global manhunts and prison time. Twenty-five years later, long-secret government files and now-talkative participants make it clear that things were far worse at Rancho Rajneesh than many realized.”

  162. @ Billy

Regarding symbolism and its purpose. Yes!!! The deconstruction of western civilization is all around us and infects most institutions.

    Sensetti writes:

“Ron Paul attempted for years to do what Trump has done in six months, turn the GOP upside down. I believe most, or all, of Trumps success is due to the circumstances of this Fourth Turning, but never the less, it’s real, and it’s growing! People are fed up with politics as usual!”

Horse shit. And you know it.

Paul’s purpose was not to turn the GOP on its head – he tried the impossible – to bring ethics and a moral compass back to the party. He failed because the party and the majority of the voters do not want to think, play connect the dots or be concerned with virtue or ethics in the political arena.

Trump is successful not because he is smarter but because he is a demagogue and likely a bit on the sociopathic side. He says the right things at the right time to a largely non thinking, pissed off voter base. Voters do not want to look inward so he appeals to their anger and tells them what they want to hear. It doesn’t mean he is not correct on certain issues (a stopped clock is right twice a day) but it does not change what and who he is.

The two men are of completely different character. That is why one failed and why the other appears to be wildly successful. BUT! This is more a statement on the character and quality of the American voter than it is on the intelligence level of either man.

Some one with your IQ level should know better.

  163. As much as I hate to say it, and as much as I hate the blowhard tough guy act which always accompanies Billy’s way too long posts, and as obvious as it is that Billy truly is a white trash racist piece of shit that most people would try to avoid in any real life social situation, he does have a point here.

  164. I rarely, if ever, like action movies with a female protagonist, simply because the ability of the audience to “suspend disbelief” is almost impossible and requires some sort of illicit agreement such as you are suggesting (an anti-male hero sentiment dominant). (There is ONE exception that comes readily to mind… Geena Davis’s The Long Kiss Goodnight 1996 was a “stay at home Housewife’s Daydream” kind of movie and had such wonderful dialogue and interplay with Samuel Jackson that it worked very well. If you have avoided it because of the female lead, do me a favor and at least watch this clip and then see if you aren’t intrigued.

Okay, now that I’ve agreed that the characters offered in Hunger Games support your premise, I will say that I still think Admin’s use of the storyline as a metaphor could have been without malice intended.

I don’t think he thinks we are all idiots, although I agree that he thinks most of us are.

  165. Billy

Well thought out response. Quite interesting, really. I didn’t like THG enough to even watch the last installment.

Admin is probably still hung over … or writing about it.

His response to your response should also be quite interesting. I do have popcorn ready.

  166. Mags,

I’m not reading anything into this that isn’t already there.

The movies push feminism and the demonization of men – specifically white men – promote the Woman as Goddess and Savior of Humanity. That “guns bad”. That “non-whites good”.

I mean, for God’s sake, look at the end scene – Katniss chooses to “sacrifice” herself symbolically by eliminating The Big Bad. She takes responsibility for it.

But wiping out The Other Big Bad? President Snidely Whiplash? Oh, “the mob” does that…

What do all mobs have in common?

    Lack of accountability.

If “the mob” did it, how do you hold anyone accountable for what happened? They “tore him to pieces”. The Official Stand-in Patsy for All White Males got taken down by a faceless mob of “the people”….

So what, exactly, is the message here?

  167. I would also like to know what Billy thinks about my comment above concerning female antiheros… and if he has ever seen the Geena Davis flick I mentioned.

  168. Mags,

I’ve seen The Long Kiss Goodnight… I actually like it and – shockingly – I own it on DVD.

Despite the obvious, blatant overtones – which did not escape my notice the first time I saw it – it’s still fun to watch…

“We just jumped out of a building!”

“Yes, it was very exciting… and tomorrow we go to the zoo…”

“…and tomorrow we go to the zoo” has become a staple in my lexicon of smartassed things to say… right along with “ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER! DO YOU SPEAK IT??!”

  169. I haven’t seen the movie… If that is indeed what happens in the movie and there are not any white males left, I would say you are right.

Symbolism in Hollywood is real. I have books from college about how to use symbolism in stories and in screenplays (if I wanted to write any, which I don’t because you have to join the screenactors guild to sell them) accurately.

So, yes, you are correct in that assumption if you have portrayed the events in the movie accurately.

“The central question of the final episode was, real or not real? Who can be believed? Are heroes really heroes or are they just created by public relations propaganda specialists?….
The truth is that no one in a position of power can be trusted. …
men ….. pull the strings on all aspects of society. We are living in a dystopian nightmare where the masses have been induced to love their enslavement.”

Thats what I been sayin! They change the narative to fit. So no one can make heads nor tails of it. Thats why these big shifts in direction or turnings can happen ! ”
You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can’t fool all the people all of the time!”

  171. Other things that do not escape my notice..

El is an asshole and likes to rename himself from time to time using the initials EC in some variant he thinks is clever…

BW is an asshole who likes to rename itself from time to time using the initials BW in some variant it thinks is clever…

Not really as clever as “they” think…

  172. Sup Stuckmeister?

    Hope your holidays were good…

I wasn’t trying to poke Jim with a pointy stick – I specifically went out of my way to say that I think Jim fell into the latter category and that his using THG as an example wasn’t intentional malfeasance…

    Ironic as hell, but malicious?

  173. I am NOT opening a can of worms here, but…

There seems to be a certain “bread and circuses” element to this theme, right? And in my little symbolism book, I turned to Panem and what did I discover but… HOLY SHIT: When elected rulers provide food and recreation to citizens to avoid uprising and discontent.

  174. Mags,

I think The Long Kiss Goodnight – with Geena Davis as Action Wife – was indeed a housewife’s daydream, despite the blatantly obvious symbolism and parts that were simply not credible…

Remember when Geena was being attacked and that goon shot at her with what I think was a grenade launcher? She hid behind the door of the fridge and was saved by it, even though she was tossed to the other side of the room in the process…

Right… because General Electric makes all their fridge doors grenade-proof, just in the off chance an Escaped Bad Guy somehow obtains military grade hardware 4 minutes after escaping prison and then tries to kill you…

    Suspension of disbelief? Eh… no.

But Geena Davis in a nightie, tied up and soaking wet? What’s not to like?

  175. Billy,
Boudica was am absolute military genius .She attacked an ungarrisoned city slaughtering scores of innocent civilians and when she finally ran an escaping inferior Roman force , which was extremely fatigued by hunger and thirst , to ground, she flung everything she had at the legionariesdisciplined lines, fouling a many Roman gladius in the process….and the rest is history.

And lest we forget ,there the little known history of how the English bow women of Agincourt defeated the much superior forces of the French.
English bow women were started at archery training by the tender age of 11, so as to gradually build their strength up over the years which would allow them to fully draw the awesome English war bow backs to their ears. The English bow was the WMD of its time. It was much feared due the the fact that in the right hands in could penetrate armor ar 200 yards.

So don’t knock warrior women .The don’ t just exist in fiction , they real Rangers now too.

Report Claims Women’s Ranger School Graduation ‘Planned In Advance’.

  176. Billy, exactly… it was definitely a stay at home housewife’s dream come true. And do you know that Samuel Jackson won over the director with the idea of his playing the role of Mitch? In the screenplay, Mitch was white and Jewish. Anyway, there are just too many favorite interactions in that movie for me to recount… and yes, I have the DVD too and Nick and I have our favorite line that mean almost nothing to people around us.

  177. Billy, you just don’t understand diversity. Diversity is ideas, see ..and you put all this ideas into a big pot and melt em’ down to one big stinky idea that really isn’t idea at all , but a state chaos. And, out of chaos comes order. Got it?

White people do not understand diversity

White people do not understand diversity in the same way conservatives do not understand pluralism. In the happy view they have sold themselves, white people and conservatives see diversity as a type of meritocracy: everyone becomes one big happy, and then we each do what benefits us, working together toward the goal of our happy pluralistic society.

When this fails, conservatives and white people tend to rage at how unfair it is. How can these minorities and liberals not share this vision of our collective destiny? In that assumption of collectivism, conservatives show they have imbibed the egalitarian mythos and doubled down on it, applying its standards to itself instead of understanding the nature of pluralism and diversity, which is “every person — and tribe — for itself.”

Conservatives were shocked to see the lack of collectivist patriotism from students at Yale University (now a third-rate college, apparently) who were demanding special treatment for themselves as divided by ethnic groups. To conservatives, this was segregation and a class system all over again, and so they criticized these liberals using liberal rhetoric:

As students saw it, their pain ought to have been the decisive factor in determining the acceptability of the Halloween email. They thought their request for an apology ought to have been sufficient to secure one. Who taught them that it is righteous to pillory faculty for failing to validate their feelings, as if disagreement is tantamount to disrespect? Their mindset is anti-diversity, anti-pluralism, and anti-tolerance, a seeming data-point in favor of April Kelly-Woessner’s provocative argument that “young people today are less politically tolerant than their parents’ generation.”

The problem here is that the liberals and minorities are right.

Pluralism does not mean “E pluribus unum” (out of many, one) as conservatives surmise. Instead, it means that every group keeps its own standards so that it can maintain its own self-interest. This is the nature of pluralism: it is to agree to disagree, not to agree to work together toward anything, least of all the kind of pro-America Horatio Alger nonsense that conservatives usually babble in public.

White people do not understand this, mainly because — as in all things — the left two-thirds of the cracker Bell Curve statistically drown out the one in five people who can understand the issue and the one in a hundred who can analyze it to a solution. In the white mentality — dominated by college students, clerks and suburban women with too much time on their hands — pluralism is the answer to “why can’t we all get along?” In their view, it means that we all tolerate each other, and then act white as a means to the end of having the white society that people claim to enjoy.

In reality, there is something more important than convenience and it appears unvocalized in all people: the need for control over one’s own destiny. For minorities, to live in a white society even if they control it means to be servants of someone else’s dream and a defeated people in someone else’s kingdom. They need an identity of their own, including institutions and leaders, and this informs their definition of pluralism, but owing to their liberal ideology, they cannot see how this means that diversity ca never work — just as the honkies cannot.

History as always shows us an answer, which usually involves the grim fact that it takes centuries to see the consequences of any act. Media establishments were amazed at how relaxed Caucasians are at becoming a minority in their own lands:

In the early 20th century, Congress, backed by the “science” of eugenics, restricted immigration by the “races” of southern and eastern Europe, which were generally viewed as inferior stock. Madison Grant’s 1916 book, “The Passing of the Great Race,” argued for Nordic supremacy to maintain the nation’s stature. A 1917 law created the Asiatic Barred Zone to further curtail already limited immigration from most of Asia and the Middle East. And in 1921 and 1924 new immigration restrictions were imposed to privilege admission to the U.S. of immigrants from Germany, Ireland and the U.K. and to reduce the flow of most others.

Current resistance to nonwhite immigration — including opposition to the legalization of undocumented immigrants who are already here — is weak by comparison. According to a December Pew Research Center/USA Today survey, 70 percent of Americans supported legal status for undocumented immigrants living in the U.S., with 43 percent also supporting a path to citizenship. Specifically among whites, 64 percent said undocumented immigrants should be allowed to stay in the U.S. legally if certain requirements are met.

To Caucasians, diversity means that we just keep on truckin’ the same way we always have, but now we have ethnic restaurants and smart black hacker friends like in the movies.

In reality, the American nativists were correct all along. Diversity of any form destroys our control over our destiny by destroying our identity. After that point, there is no unity, only a sense of living in a place for convenience. Pluralism breaks down into each person doing what they want except where obligated, a kind of “anarchy with grocery stores” plus the jobs to pay for those groceries and buy your way into a gated community apart from the 80% of your society that is now a multi-cultural war zone of urban decay.

In this way, diversity takes us to a lowest common denominator. This was apparent to our ancestors. What intervened was 150 years of liberal propaganda based on the successful media blitz before the Civil War, in which the “new Americans” — Irish, Greek, Italian, Jewish, Slavic and lawyers — were convinced to beat up on the old Anglo-Saxon establishment in the South using slavery as a moral blank check. This missed the fact that starting in the 1830s, nations began abandoning slavery because technology was making it obsolete, and that the South was already phasing out slavery but did not want to take a single massive economic hit — or create diversity by freeing slaves.

Think through the logic tree of diversity. Different groups will either assimilate each other, forming a miscegenated substrate like we see in most third world countries across the globe, or will Balkanize, which is the minority view of pluralism seen above: each race segregates, gets its own facilities and institutions, and its own rules to protect it from the others. This will regress into ethnic warfare and end in mass assimilation.

Diversity means genocide. It will destroy whites, yes, but it will also destroy all minority groups and leave behind a less-capable tan group. Much as it was used as a weapon against Anglo-Saxons, who were genocided by liberals using “near-whites” from Ireland, Greece, Italy, Eastern Europe and Israel as a biological weapon to adulterate and replace the Anglo-Saxon population, it is now being used against whites.

This fits the pattern of liberal takeovers of society: liberals seize power, and all are afraid to oppose them because liberals have good intentions expressed in equality. Liberals then destroy any populations that have any beliefs which might come before liberalism, starting with the churches but extending to passive-aggressive ethnic cleansing. In the end, what is left is a 90 average IQ population that permanently votes leftist, and a country with no future.

But this remains unknown to whites. They trust their television, and they trust white liberals, who have led them on like a bull charging at a cape by allowing whites to have their illusions about what diversity is so long as whites support it. Now that the cape was been whipped aside yet again, whites are circling around for another charge, convinced that the square of red cloth, or minorities demanding pluralism as it is — and not the matador in the Che Guevara t-shirt — is the source of their frustration. Not surprisingly, this too will fail for them, just as it is intended to.

  178. Holy shitballs!

I used the Action Wife/Mom trope as a joke in response to Mags, but check this out!

The Action Mom trope led me to Action Girl, which led to the Magnetic Hero trope… guess what I found under that?

    The subtrope Jeanne d’Archetype.

They even quote Catching Fire in the article! I won’t quote it here, but man… I didn’t know it was an actual thing, ya know?

    From the article:

Jeanne d’Archétype is a fictional character inspired by Saint Joan of Arcnote . This can incorporate various elements of the historical Joan’s story. This character is Always Female, usually young, often an Action Girl, and often of humble origin….

    Followed by:

Realizing her importance, it is highly likely her enemies will eventually exploit her own Honor Before Reason to lure her into a trap and subject to a public trial and execution. This, of course, is bound to backfire, as even past her untimely death, she will be turned into a larger-than-life mythic persona (such as a saint) by a zealous cult following that would continue to provide inspiration for generations….

    Too funny….

  179. Now you have definitely gone and done it.

You triggered my XMEN memory. Jean was the ultimate mutant remember? The “5” that was so powerful that her abilities had to be muted and hidden.

Then, when she emerges, it is as the ultimate villain, until…

she sacrifices herself in the arms of Wolverine.

Dear Heaven… Look where you’ve led me.

    I’m going back to my 1980s pictures…

  180. @ flash

    Dead nuts on… +1.

    @ Bea

Yep.. .clear and cold. Stuff is drying out, finally… our south field down by the fence is a mudhole. Other than that, just another day… everyone haying their horses (and maybe sneaking them an apple or two when nobody’s looking…) and other animals, doing normal stuff… the occasional gunshot in the distance, either someone poaching (which I loathe), trying out their new toys or dispatching a pest…

Y’all are probably a bit colder than us over here in the Piedmont… the mountains always make their own weather, even though you’re like right over THERE…

  181. Billy

The holidays were mostly uneventful …. just the way I like it.

Anyway, I’m working on a new Pic Essay ….. awesome war machinery from the past, which will focus on ideas that weren’t quite ready for prime time. Should be done by tomorrow. You should like it.

  182. Billy (Stucky) says: El is an asshole and likes to rename himself from time to time using the initials EC in some variant he thinks is clever…

I thought it was obvious as a hard-on in high school when the teacher caught you daydreaming about the girl sitting next to you with her sweet thigh showing and called you to go to the chalkboard.

OMG, Billy likes Geena Davis in a bondage scene. Your too cool, Billy.

The Long Kiss is one of my faves too. Nobody mentioned a similar housewife fantasy, True Lies.

Once you watch those under-rated chick/action flics, THG is a bore. News flash: movies have been using the noble Indian/Mexican or obligatory token/noble black for years. This has its own meme, the black/brown gets killed. Actually, anybody who plays the nice guy with a pregnant wife back home will get killed in a movie.

Admin wasn’t promoting THG like a damn movie reviewer, he was using the story line to explain his own clear view of the times we live in and the fucked up mess we are in. Instead of following his argument, you want to focus on the color of the characters and whether the heroine could have been improved if Ronda Rousey had the lead role. If it were up to you, you fucks would be outraged that god used a Jew to save the world and miss the whole point that the world needs saving.

  183. Maggie says: It really doesn’t take much to send you pervs off into lala land, does it?
Hey, you started with the Xmen meme…me? guilty as charged!

  184. Back to test scores: I had a 1480 SAT and a 32 composite ACT, due to a random chance –

I was 16 and at home on a thirty-acre farm in a rural area; I had read the books at home I found interesting, and summer days on a non-working farm are long and fairly dull. I picked up one of my eldest brother’s college text books, just for something to read. He had just gotten a degree in microbiology, which I had nearly no interest in; but there just wasn’t anything else left! The one I was reading was on microbes, and a section on “lysis of phage” stuck with me; viruses that inject their DNA into a host (victim) cell; the viral DNA takes over the nucleus, and forces the host to produce more viruses, which then rupture the cell wall to spread out and infect more cells. Neat little graphic to illustrate the process.

Fast forward ten months, and I’m taking the ACT; turn to the “natural sciences” section and what is the subject? LYSIS OF PHAGE, from the same freaking textbook my brother had! I FLEW through that section (mainly intended to check reading comprehension, with a little deduction thrown in) and had time left over to go back and check earlier answers!

Eventual results: Natural sciences 34 (out of 36), English 33, Social sciences 32 and Math 28, for a composite of 32! My ACT scores were 98th percentile, largely due to the high natural sciences and English scores; if I hadn’t spent the previous summer reading that textbook, I doubt I’d have done anywhere near that well. My subsequent less-than-illustrious career must have been a mistake…..

Anyway, the strangest things make your path in life easier, harder or weirder; you never know.

  185. I jumped from Billy’s Jeanne d’Archetype to XMen’s Jean.

How we ended up with Mystique vs. Katniss was up to you.

Of course, I could claim that I was way ahead of Mystique in my blue Halloween getup in 1982 posted 809 a.m. Even had my face in blue paint.

  186. Francis Marion says: Regarding symbolism and its purpose.

It is all symbolism. Billy noted Diana the huntress and called to mind the Amazons. They were said to cut off a tit to facilitate using a bow.

Then we have Caitlyn who figuratively cuts off his dick to facilitate cross-dressing but in fact does not actually stop bringing home the bacon.

We are faced today with those two symbols, Artemis in the form of Hillary or the titless Amazonian Olympics champ. Trump represents the rejection of these female heros in favor of the macho male with a sexpot hanging off his arm; the natural order of things, the white man uber allen.

  187. Another take – in spite of Billy & EL Corona -pointing out Hollywood’s obvious worship of Artemis.

(Man! A Corona does sound kind of good right now!)

Anyway – who here is going to change the course of the world with most of us using internet nom de plume monikers?

If the American Revolution was online, Patrick Henry would have been identified as “HateGeorge3” and Paul Revere would have been known as “Midnight Rider”.

All we can do is hope that the ideas here (and free speech) “Catch Fire”. We will see…

  188. Jfish, I got to be honest with you. I think you are either an immature person lacking in social graces or you are what you have been accused of being — someone who means to disrupt and distract people who engage in conversation here at TBP because we enjoy bantering with one another NOT because we like or know one another, but because we read the articles here and share a common interest in the subject matter.

Now, when you came upon the scene and started you silly antics, I felt sorry for you and was in a pissy mood toward EC, so nudged not pushed the quarrel over toward the Andy Griffith post (now, a legendary 400+ comments minus poor Left a ******* whom I’m not supposed to mention). It didn’t take long for me to realize there was no substance behind your comments. So, either you are here to disrupt and distract or you are just an idiot.

Either way, I’m really sorry I took pity on you and should have let the carrion feeders have you from the get-go.

Of course, I wouldn’t hold the record 400+ comments line, but this article has some real potential to get there unless you stick around and ruin it.

  189. Maggie – “Only God Knows Why” I only want to be a “Simple Man”. But I do. Yes I do. I’ll go. If only for your sake.

Call me a guppy, a squirrel & and a maggot while still thinking you’re a nice person. Is fine. Keep rollin’ in 2016 & beyond. I will too.

I wish only the best for you and yours in the new year.

  190. The problem is that you have said Gnite before and I don’t know what all the drama queen crap is about… why can’t you just make comments without acting like you are something other than what you obviously are… just a dude trying to act as if you have some kind of impact or influence we should worry about.

  191. I ain’t nothin. But I always treated you like a lady. The only designation I ever used for you was your name, “Maggie”.

Its all good. Truth is, I only wish you well…

PS – saying “G’nite” is different than saying “goodbye”. It only means that its a “good night”, that’s all.

Every day is a “holiday” and every meal is a “feast”. I’m glad I got to know you but you need to admit that you didn’t get to 400 on Andy without my help. It was a ” team” effort.

Doesn’t matter now. Please take care…

  192. I don’t give a flying fuck about 400 comments. Is my little joke with EC. As for calling me a lady or Maggie.. why not just stop calling. Because you can’t. You are a pissant lastworder.

  193. Here’s the deal. I don’t care. The photo below is what I was looking at last night on New Years Eve.

So flippin’ beautiful, it hurts. Doesn’t matter. Forget about me Maggie. It’s all good…

    Take care…

  194. A flounce for Miss Maggie’s (and Admin’s) sake. I do it with honor.

Why am I seemingly the only one that’s Stucky keep stats on?
400+ on Andy. 300 comments+ & 600 “dislikes” on the Sandy Hook Debate. & closing in on 300 on this thread.

Not bad since my 1st post on HSF’s “Wasp” post on December 5th.

  195. Was fun. Maybe I’ll come back when I get done with rehab.

It’s my new years resolution. Or not. I don’t know…

  196. Look, since you seem to haunt comment lines I hang out in — as EC once insinuated… trying to make me your mom — and you don’t really READ much of the articles here, you don’t really KNOW what anyone here does. Stucky keeps track of all kinds of statistics and your G’nite numbers are about of as much consequence to him as any bug that got squashed on my windshield on my way home from the post office yesterday to get my property taxes postmarked by the end of the year to avoid penalty without paying one minute sooner than necessary was to me. Since I don’t know if any bugs were out in the cold weather to get squashed on my windshield, that is very little consequence indeed. Admin could delete every article you commented in since your arrival and it wouldn’t put a dent in what TBP is you little zero.

  197. JFish says: So flippin’ beautiful, it hurts. Doesn’t matter. Forget about me Maggie. It’s all good…

Aw, shit, Maggie. The trouser trout is looking at your pic and aching. That is so creepy. This guy definitely sounds like your classmate stalker. His questioning about your only son and complaining about Archie and Joey is all the more proof this dude is demented. And obsessing about topics he may have shared with you, ugggghhh. While we appreciate your sexy pics, who knows what this sick fuck is doing with them.

  198. Well, EC, you see why I chose the profile picture in lieu of a face shot with the stilleto heels strapped on. (Man, did I have some blisters on my heels after that party and NO it wasn’t worth it.)

I decided after SSS’s comments about pictures combined with Jfish’s untimely appearance just as I was about to post what would have shocked the monkeys here that even though my thirty something year old photos really don’t seem to pose much of a danger to me or my family by posting them here, the weirdness of that creep popping up RIGHT THEN weirded me out enough to stay my hand.

So, the stiletto heels and monkey shocking photo will stay hidden in Photobucket until an occasion warrants its display.

And IS.. You shit… you really ARE a shit flinger.

  199. That was flat out creepy, EC. There was this loser woman who was ten years older than I (64 now). I put together this community page on Facebook that was wildly popular, so much so that I needed some admin help to monitor for inappropriate comments or photos because I wanted it to be family oriented. (Unlike Admin’s purpose here, I wasn’t aiming at the Free Speech crowd). I was looking at nostalgia for schooldays and people worth commenting about in the community. Buildings of note, reunions, weddings, funerals, et cetera… you get the idea.

As people volunteered, I just made sure they were from the community and added them, trusting that they had similar integrity as I.

I was still working for a living at the time and while I spent some time uploading photos as people emailed them to me on weekends, I didn’t spend a lot of time on the page, thinking my dozen Admins were more than capable of getting in touch with me (one of them was the former high school librarian and another a college professor in a nearby town, so I figured I was set up pretty good for people to police the comments. I got the stats reported to me and saw that every time I uploaded photos, upwards of hundreds of people were viewing them within hours. (Now you know why I LOVE photos so very much)

    Well, one got by me.

Friends of mine started asking me about comments I’d made on their pages as “the page.” When you create a “community page” on Facebook, you have the option of becoming the page and using facebook. I made a tutorial for my admins to explain how to choose to use that feature or to opt to be themselves. I didn’t care whether they used their own identity or not… why should I? They were doing me a favor, right?

Well, this friend of mine who sent the risqué photos of me? Well, he really is just an old, old friend. Nick has issues with him, but he really is an old friend. Would he have? Yes. Would I? NO. In my mind, that should settle it. Nick sees it differently and doesn’t like him having photos of me in crazy getups like that.

One of my “admins”, this woman ten years my senior, had always had a crush on him since high school. I kid you NOT. She used my community page identity to go into his page and pry into his personal life and find out all kinds of information about him. She built a fake facebook account with a name so similar to mine it was creepy and when I found out I was totally freaked out and immediately thought of Silence of the Lambs… was she making a Martha suit?????

Anyway, what are the ODDS… See Admin, staying on topic! And teaching everyone real life lessons.

  200. I made a funny about not having women locked up in the basement, I don’t have a basement anyway, but it starts to get strange when a commenter keeps appealing to your pity and trying to sound like a victim. Most women here stop all interaction with that character. That is the wisest thing to do.

On a similar note, playing the victim works for a lot of scammers who manage to contact folks with a good heart. They soon are loading their victim with heart rending tales of woe and financial straits. Widows and old folks are not the only dupes. El Doggy has a spot where we hear of many players abroad who are scamming folks here in the US with marriage plans while they already have a BF or spouse back where they are living.

  201. There’s only one thing more depressing than seeing JFish the Weirdo post … and that’s seeing some of you up-voting this Scourge Of TBP. What the fuck is wrong with you people??

You might consider the effective Amish practice of SHUNNING. Really. It might disappear if you ignore it.

And for the record, I’ve had at least two posts that hit the 600 mark …. which are now gone because I asked Admin to delete everything I ever wrote during the Chathm copfuk incident.

My parents had a small fire in their home this afternoon. Fortunately, only smoke damage in the kitchen. 2016 is off to a fine fuckin’ start!!!

  202. Stucky, just to let you know… the 300 comment game on Andy started to get the “scourge” off of Hardscrabble’s wonderful newest “pre” Christmas story, where he had only recently shown up and appeared to be a child who’d wandered into a room full of adults. It struck my “mom” nerve I guess and EC had made some snide comment about my dear boy that pissed me off (we’ve since made peace until the next time… I know how things work around here…). For some reason, the goal of getting Andy to be the “300” like in Sparta became a driving force (for me) and EC said that we were beating some comment lead of yours that got to 200, but in the end, MY GOAL was keeping the ridiculous conversation out of the adults conversation on TBP. I thought the scourge had potential and was more than just a troll until this one series of inane comments he made and then I realized he was either an idiot or worse.

Now, something interesting happened on the way to Mulberry Street. I learned to halfway LIKE that EC bastard who’d bugged the shit out of me all those months ago. I discovered that the tadpole was a zero and the more he crows about how much he loves us all here and we will have his undying love and financial support forever, the more I am ashamed of my behavior and want Admin to deleted all of the comments beyond the first two or three on the Andy Griffith post. I feel peeped upon.

  203. And sorry about the fire… there is nothing more devastating to us than a fire. We lost Nick’s brother to the infections that set in after he opted to fight the fire rather than evacuated using any of the three alternated exits from the house he was renting from his cousin. But since it was his cousin’s, he ran into the kitchen to fight the fire, being burned over 85% of his body. Is it not the burns… it is the infections. God rest your young soul, Victor.

My son was born on year to the day after his death. Just coincidence. What are the odds?

  204. I have a lot of neat pictures in my old Photobucket account… here’s a “nice” MONKEY picture to start your day.

  205. El Colostomy says: Billy (Stucky) says: El is an asshole and likes to rename himself from time to time using the initials EC in some variant he thinks is clever…

I thought it was obvious as a hard-on in high school when the teacher caught you daydreaming about the girl sitting next to you with her sweet thigh showing and called you to go to the chalkboard.

What’s also obvious is you editing my post down to that one sentence and taking it out of context for the sole purpose of trying to get some traction via ridicule.

Fuck you, El Colostomy bag. You know damn well what I was on about, and only a dishonest fucking MEXICAN would do that shit…

    Not. To. Be. Trusted.

OMG, Billy likes Geena Davis in a bondage scene. Your too cool, Billy.

And you need to learn how to Speekie da Eengerish, ese…

The Long Kiss is one of my faves too. Nobody mentioned a similar housewife fantasy, True Lies.

That’s because Geena Davis doesn’t have fake tits like Jamie Lee Curtis does, has a genius level IQ and was EXPONENTIALLY HOTTER – Orders of Magnitude hotter – than Curtis when these movies were made…. Plus, she’s a way better actress. Plus plus True Lies was a stupid movie.

Once you watch those under-rated chick/action flics, THG is a bore.

Good to know you watch Chick Flicks. Says a lot about you.

News flash: movies have been using the noble Indian/Mexican or obligatory token/noble black for years. This has its own meme, the black/brown gets killed.

This just in from The Stupid Fuckin Blatantly Obvious Mexican News Channel: DUH! They’re called Red Shirts. Characters whose sole purpose in the movie/show is to die – the death can serve as motivation for the Hero if the character is likable and he’s not made of cardboard and right out of Central Casting… but their sole purpose for existing in the first place is to DIE. They don’t HAVE to be black or brown, but it helps push The Narrative if they are.

Walking Dead is a perfect example of this. We’re down to The Immortals now – characters so beloved, so many people are emotionally invested in these few characters, that they cannot be killed off. Which means that anyone else showing up is only cannon fodder – put there to be killed. And the group seems to have a maximum limit of 2 blacks at any given time. For another one to gain admission to the group, another one has to die… preferably sacrificing their lives nobly in order to save the white people…

Admin wasn’t promoting THG like a damn movie reviewer, he was using the story line to explain his own clear view of the times we live in and the fucked up mess we are in.

You simply cannot accept that what I wrote is true. Not that it’s TRUE or not – but the fact that I WROTE IT.

And so you attack. Doesn’t matter what – you hate my guts so thoroughly, that I could sit and write some Magnum Opus that solves all the world’s problems. Post it here. Doesn’t matter. You’ll attack because I wrote it. You using this “movie review” bullshit is a fig leaf to cover for that. You’re not even honest enough to admit it up front – you have to use stupid, insipid variations on “EC” and “BW” to attack me.

    Mexicans. Not. To. Be. Trusted.

Instead of following his argument, you want to focus on the color of the characters and whether the heroine could have been improved if Ronda Rousey had the lead role.

Now this is a fuckin LIE.

I gave credit to Jim for his arguments – he’s right. But my focus on the color of the characters AND the fact that the Hero is a little girl is solely to illustrate that using such blatantly obvious political correctness as an example of NOT political correctness is just fucking stupid.

And again, you either damn well know this and are misconstruing what I said in order to attack and get traction, or you are the dumbest fucking Mexican on the planet – and that’s saying something, given the staggering levels of stupidity amongst the ‘cans…

If it were up to you, you fucks would be outraged that god used a Jew to save the world and miss the whole point that the world needs saving.

And if it were up to you, there wouldn’t BE a world that needed saving – it would be buried under mountains of trash, colonias, roach coach taco trucks, bastard kids, raped 11 and 12 year old girls and empty beer bottles….

So fuck you, you smelly fuckin ‘can…

  206. Maggie –

Not my biz, and I’m sure I don’t know the full story, but I’m with Nick on this one.

If I was Nick, I wouldn’t like that dude, either.

That’s the way we men can be at times, immature and jealous. We don’t want to think about any kind of past life you may have had before you met us. It’s like we want you to come, freshly-hatched out of the egg when you meet us, amazed at the sheer presence of oxygen in the air, as if you’ve never noticed it before.

  207. My wife recommended that I read the article, which I have. Thought provoking, I will read more from this site as time allows.

One of my favorite sites is Zero Hedge, and I have learned from reading the comments that there are many things that until that time was not aware of.

So I read (almost all of) the comments and has some replies to several.

Just as in it’s better to have one subject per email, I will make one comment per reply.

    Let’s see how this goes.

  208. “flash says:

Admin, no one can sum up the current state of geopolitical affairs as succinctly as you.Kudos + 1000

While I agree that the USG is corporate fascist organization , they ‘re not oppressors .”

Oh yeah, try experiencing what it is like to be on the losing end a some arm wrestling matches with the IRS.

I lost, I paid, I stayed out of jail, and it scared the crap out of me. My crime, trying to keep a business from failing in tough times. Live and learn.

  209. “DRUD says:

I think of the movie “Cold Mountain” where most of the men are thrilled at the prospect of War…cheering each other on. Four short years later, the few left alive cheer no more.”

When I was a kid growing up as a Cub Scout, and later as a member of a parish marching band I would with all my friends march in the annual Memorial Day Parade. We would meet at the VFW, where on the wall were the memorials to men (and boys) who died in the Civil War, the First World War, and Second World War. At the time they were only names on a plaque.
Fast forward 30 years and I was traveling in Scotland, doing some local sightseeing and looking at the architecture and interiors of some very old churches. It was in the entries to these churches where there were the same plaques with the names of young men who died in the First and Second World Wars. But this time I was more aware of things than I was when I was 8 and 10 years old.

What struck me most significantly was this: in every church the list of names was far greater for the First World War than the Second World War.

(Not stealing from the various IQ comments, but…) It didn’t take me long to figure out why this was. The list of names for the Second World War were shorter because all of the potential fathers that had been killed in the First.

No one left alive to bring along the next generation….

  210. “Sensetti says:

Donald Trump’s IQ is reportedly 156 plus, Goggle it, my poor little 139 IQ makes me a worker bee”

Chuck Norris is able to count to infinity. Twice.

  211. “Administrator says:

Sensetti doesn’t even know that Trump transferred to Wharton from Fordham and only did his last two years there. He happened to be hiding in college to avoid the draft. He then graduated and would have been sent to Vietnam. But the poor boy developed bone spurs in his tootsies and got a physical deferment. I’m sure his multi-millionaire daddy didn’t pull any strings for little Donnie. ”

Well, my first distrust of the USG and TPTB (though I didn’t know the second existed at the time) was when I was 14. How many remember the days was measured by the “coolness” of how many transistors your radio had (not gigabytes of memory)???

For my birthday my parents gave me a 10 transistor radio, all my fiends had 6 and 8.
That next summer (1966) we would be listening to WBZ in Boston, at the time a Top 40 station. They ran the news at the top of every hour. A typical newscast would contain, “And in South Vietnam today (which was bout 16 hours earlier) Allied forces killed 120 Viet Cong and wounded 243 while Allied casualties were “moderate””. Or the next day, 25 killed, 30 wounded, and Allied casualties “light”, or heavy, or moderate, or….day after day after day.

I said to myself, how can we know the exact number killed or wounded of the enemy but not know our own numbers. It was then I realized that the USG did not want those number stated because it would not make “good” press.

The purpose of my story is this. besides the fact that we were there not trying to win a war (I remember all the restrictions that were placed on the services at the time) Vietnam was not on my bucket list. I graduated high school in 1969 and went to college. Two reasons, I was smart enough to get in and I had no intention of going into the service at that time.

At 64 years old I look back at my life and have no doubt that had I been drafted I would have driven the 8 hours to get to Canada and not come back. I discussed this with my Dad (Korea veteran) and he supported my decision. I didn’t have to do it, but there was no way I was going to join the young men and women listed below.

    from Wikipedia (because it’s easy)

    Vietnam casualties
    United States armed forces

Casualties as of 31 August 2015:

58,307 KIA or non-combat deaths (including the missing & deaths in captivity)[53]
153,303 WIA (excluding 150,332 persons not requiring hospital care)[54]
    1,626 MIA (originally 2,646)[55]
    766–778 POW (652–662 freed/escaped*,[56][57] 114–116 died in captivity)[56][58]

During the Vietnam War, 30% of wounded service members died of their wounds.[59]

Note: *One escapee died of wounds sustained during his rescue 15 days later.[60]

  212. “Maggie says:

“I knew someone very much like him when I was in the Air Force.” …and a story that has me looking at more things…(comparing here friend to Snowden)

He finally saw the light, the money was not that important compared to his integrity and self-worth.

  213. “Maggie says:

I rarely, if ever, like action movies with a female protagonist, simply because the ability of the audience to “suspend disbelief” is almost impossible and requires some sort of illicit agreement such as you are suggesting (an anti-male hero sentiment dominant). ”

As you have already said that you haven’t read the books or seen the movie here is a little spoiler for you.

Katniss is the the “breadwinner” or a family whose father died in a mining accident and whose mother after this death withdrew into herself to the point where Katniss ends up providing for her mother and younger sister. (Contrived, yes, but it’s a story).

As I have found throughout my life, the books are always way better than the movies, mostly because there is so much more to the story than can be crammed into 90 or 120 or 180 minutes of film (or in the case of the rash of 2 and 3 part movies for one book….400 minutes plus).

As I am a sci-fi/fantasy/apocalyptic fan my first reads and views are for the pure enjoyment of the material. I don’t need fiction to show me what is wrong in the world, there is enough in real life.

Not that I partake, but I love the quote:

‘You know, I go to the theatre to be entertained… I don’t want to see plays about rape, sodomy and drug addiction… I can get all that at home.’

    Peter Cook (1937-1995)

  214. Stucky says:
“Obviously, Billy did not make a New Year’s resolution is be kinder, gentler, and filled wif Da Holyghost.”

Good! We’re all going to need to be on guard as The Great Regression continues. I’d take a hundred Billy’s over one of whatever his opposite would be!

  215. Fuck you, Billy Pierre. We’re back to the EC is BW meme. I suppose you think JQ is Smokey?

What you can’t stand is that I touched your magnum opus. Guess what, asscrack, if you post a comment your going to get feedback. That’s how comment sections work. Oh but you wanted only lily white people commenting on your sharpshooting comment. Excuse me.

I commended you on liking Geena because you typically sound like a mute action hero with no discernible sex drive. Those guys never show emotion or stoop to matters of the Id. Unless killing people is somehow the only way they can get their rocks off. So I was impressed to see you had some human quality. My mistake.

  216. Maggie, I apologize for any snide comment I may have made concerning your kid. I don’t even make such comments about fuckwad David Pierre or ‘Billy’ as he calls himself nowadays.

Please give me a link or even copy and paste the offending verbiage so that I can multiply the number of words times whatever amount you wish and I will whip myself that many times with a wet noodle.

  217. Fukhead Jcock seems to have chased off Maggie. I guess she figured the odds were not in her favor.

Here’s the most important question of 2016: who is BW?

    Billy says it’s EC

EC says it’s Stucky or LLPOH or T4C or…

    Suzanna says it’s I-S

    What is your guess?

  218. My cousin called and asked if she could bring her young nephew up for his first round of deer hunting. She took him out this morning and then afternoon… I had to thaw out the water lines in the tree house (We have a pipe that gravity feeds the treehouse from our well underground and is buried, so we don’t have to worry about it freezing. BUT, the line that takes it up into the house is insulated around a heated line that we forgot to plug in yesterday.) I had lots of practice thawing those lines out while the log home was being built, but I admit was out of practice.

However, my cousin used to play at cattle drives or something out in Arizona (I have NO IDEA what that is except that she’s freaking awesome) and brought her guitar. She is amazing. Her guitar is signed by Loretta Lynn. Really. I’m a year older than her, so I’m kind of like the boss of her.

EC… all is forgiven. Turns out that little tadpole turd is worse than anything seen here before.

  219. And yes, I filmed her singing to us while we drank a lot of tequila, rum, beer, vodka and I cooked up a deer butt (my cousins wanted to call it a hindquarter or a ham, but it is what it is…)

There is NOTHING like deer butt slow cooked all day long, sliced and served with hot or mild BBQ sauce. And. by the way? I make the best coleslaw in the county

  220. Maggie,

I adore a good fresh yummy coleslaw. Grew up with
rote cole…it’s okay. But coleslaw is awesome.

Please just rough in a recipe for me…and don’t leave out
the secret ingredient, Thanks so much.

  221. people,
I saw on Martin Armstrong that there is big trouble in the ME.
I believe he said, things are “heating up.” Same as always,
bullies just want to knock you over and take your stuff.

Saudi Kingdom…riots there. Erdogan is not using Germany’s
3 billion to just split. And Nigel Forage had his car tires tampered
with/assassination attempt. Greece citizens now have to report
any and all items of value they have in their homes to the gov.
Wow, will Christine be seen sporting Greece woman’s bracelets?

Can’t wait for the next phony terror event staged over here, we can
only hope the players get goofed up and shoot each other. They are
    getting mighty sloppy!!

And no and niet, the odds are not in our favor. How are they going to tax
us more if no one has any money? The plan must be to destroy everyone’s
financial lives to the point of bankruptcy and then buy out people’s stuff.
Isn’t that what happened during/with the “great” depression #one?

    I care about coleslaw.

  222. Maggie,

    quid pro quo…

    lemon drop martini

    each serving:

3/4 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
    1.5 ounce good vodka (chilled)
superfine (or regular) sugar to taste 2tsp. works
some add a splash of triple sec
shake it with ice, strain, put in a sugar rimmed
    martini glass

    I would double that/or make a batch
I do not have any orange liqueur…maybe an orange twist?
    Yummy…the conversation flows..

    serve some snacks.

  223. Secret ingredient is fresh egg yolk (2) (throw away the white) in the dressing whipped until it is creamy froth. Blend in the juice from 1/2 cup of pepperoncini (set the peppers aside for chopping and adding) as your vinegar. Add 1/4 cup olive oil and continue to whip. Chill while you chop your vegetables.

I shred my carrots, then rinse and drain them on paper towels so they don’t bleed. Same with red onion. I chop and add broccoli florets and kale. Cabbage, of course. That pepperoncini gets chopped finely and added into that dressing along with 1/2 tsp of dry mustard or 1 tsp of spicy mustard.

I add other spices and seasonings as I feel like it, but that is really my big secrets… fresh egg yolks, pepperoncini vinegar and getting rid of the excess carrot juice.

thanks for the lemon drop martini… I need one as soon as the clock strikes noon.

  224. Thank you so much Maggie

Sounds crispy and delicious and full of color…
I’ll let you know how my version turns out.

  225. will anyone take the time to watch this?
I saw it today on the

At first it was a little shaky, but quite soon the man hits his stride.
It may be a tear jerker…put it on in the background, you won’t be sorry.

  226. The ODDS are never in your favor. The only time they were in favor is when you where BORN!
That’s it . You won the lottery called LIFE.
It is hardship, pain , trauma, disappointment, despair, etc, etc, etc,.

It is also happiness , love , understanding, joy, hope, fulfillment , completion , success, laughter,
children, family, meaningful work, friends, It is SUNSHINE on the soul !

Pick which path you will choose , some are predetermined , but a lot is your choice on how you overcome or determine where you wish to be .

Fortune favors the prepared mind , I am unsure whose quote that is . Be prepared and influence the events that are meaningful to you .
just a cook , in the mighty struggle of life that goes haphazardly down a path that is semi random )

  227. I may be difficult, but I damn sure am not what Admin said, just knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. I’ve been posting for sometime I going back into oil stocks. Free Advice is not worth much, but it’s free. Google top ten Oil ETF’s wait just a bit and dive in. Saudi screwed with my time line a bit, getting into it with Iran before oil really bottomed out, but it’s just fine. If you don’t or can’t invest in one of these Oil ETF’s just track one, anyone! We will talk down the road!

  228. Marathon has a very strong balance sheet atm , minorly invested in them just for the cheap dividend .
@sensetti I think they will all go lower but its the same dollar cost averaging as any other item ,including PM’S um precious metals I mean lol .hehe
Altho PMS is exspensive on occasion )

I bought a tshirt that says I do what the voices in my wife’s head tell her to tell me what to do !
With all due respect to women , they do indeed have um a certain amount of control and I am um captivated by that power they have )))))))

  229. Gm, I’m going to spread the risk and play an ETF! It takes oil to wage war, and when the war starts in the major oil producing countries in the world there’s only one way for the price of oil and that’s straight up!

  230. I will tell you what… GM knows of what he speaketh. It takes a LOT of jet fuel and gasoline to haul all the weaponry from here to there and make it go boom.
