15-year-old Alexei Romanov from Kazan, Russia, has only been playing piano for a year and a half. That alone would make his musical progress impressive, but the fact that he was born without fully developed hands really separates him from other players his age.
“I always liked classical music,” he told RT. “At first I played the simplest things such as ‘Jingle Bells’ but now I can learn some more serious works.” He explained his friends originally had to help him find some piano notes, but that he’s able to mostly do it on his own now.
He started studying musical notation three weeks before this was filmed.
