THINK HE WAS RAISED IN A LOVING TWO PARENT HOUSEHOLD?

What kind of anger, pain and dysfunctional household would make a kid do this to himself?

I don’t give a fuck if he was locked into a basement with his back serving as the only means for putting out a cigarette in the entire neighborhood, he’s an adult taking responsibility for his own actions.

The dumbass did this to himself, and deserves the shitty job he no doubt holds.

TPC,
My son starts his first job out of college next week, probably about the same age. He is starting as a Quality Control Engineer for a medical device company. An extremely good paying job with great benefits, his degree is Chemical Engineering as I have mentioned before. Needless to say he does not have any tattoos or piercings, but he did graduate from the Honors College and also has a minor in math, one class away from a dual major. Decisions have consequences.
Bob.

Can you imagine how little someone must think of themselves to do something disfiguring like that to their body just to feel noticed and like they belong to something?

Anon,
Funny thing is I do not even notice this shit anymore. It has become so commonplace along with the vast skin coverage with tattoos that they don’t even draw a second look from me anymore. Funny, I work in an office for a professional real estate developer, 5 MBA’s Over 100 years of house and commercial construction, another 6 undergraduate degrees in various business and construction technology fields, not one visible tattoos, no male and very modest female piercings, we have all held our positions for 10 or more years, many of us for 20 plus.

I interviewed 7 people for a temp purchasing position, 5 of them young men, all Asian, all had degrees in business, one a masters. Well dressed, extremely well prepared and well spoken. It was a pleasure, we ended up hiring a 22 year old American kid born in Taiwan. Impeccable English, and fluent in Mandarin, as is my daughter. These kids who tat and pierce themselves up do not realize how much they are screwing themselves. The competition out there is is stiff, they would be much better off spending the money on learning a specialty and brushing up on the skills employers are looking for. If this kid had walked in for an interview with me, after I got up off the floor laughing I would politely ell him the interview was over.

Bob.

I wonder what would happen if he were put into an MRI machine.

Better – by far! – than the sorts of facial tattoos these fucktards have been getting. Such piercings can be removed with some minimally obtrusive scarring later in life.

Meanwhile, think of how much safer he is as a pedestrian walking along the shoulder of the road late at night….

Buster – you beat me to the punch that was exactly what i was thinking. If he wanders within 20 feet of a fired up MRI, instant candidate for next face transplant, ouch…

YES, I think he was raised in an overly loving two parent household with a rich daddy and a doting guilt-prone mommy.

EVERY single young white person I have met who cover himself or herself with tats and piercings is some spoiled brat from Lake Forest, Winnetka, Wilmette, Hinsdale, or Barrington. He is usually the kid who was a little “different’ and whose parents can afford to support him in his own apartment, or even buy a condo and give it to him, when he reaches college age. I used to meet a lot of these young people when I lived further in on the North Side. They’d float down to that youth-oriented neighborhood from their exclusive suburbs, and proceed to dye their hair blue, and spread blankets out on the sidewalk and beg as though they were homeless. These kids will go to any length to be “cool” and “edgy” and between the mis-education of their “progressive” private schools, and the security they have in their parents’ money and position, they don’t worry about their futures….. until a couple of decades later, when they’re edging up against their 40th birthdays and discover that there will be no trust fund, and that their parents’ apparent wealth was really just an upper-class lifestyle dependent on debt financing.

A couple of decades back, I met a young girl of about 20, a friend of a young male friend of mine, who announced proudly that she was about to get a body tattoo. Imagine, her entire body tatted from her neck, all the way down her back, her front, her arms, and her legs. She was a natural blonde with classically beautiful facial features and a fine figure. She was also someone whose parents bought her her own condo in the Edgewater neighborhood to live in while going to art school. I told her I hoped like hell she had a trust fund, because there was no way she was going to get a decent job looking like that, and I hoped she still liked it in a decade or two or three, because she was going to be stuck with it.

@Bostonbob – Your boy sounds like someone I would hate, I’ll always be jealous of a CheE 🙂

Kidding aside, thats great news! Good people get hired before they graduate, its something that a lot of people don’t understand.

Probably because the thought of facing their own inadequacies is too terrifying to contemplate.

That kid did not have a father like I did. I know exactly what my father would have said.

“Do not defile the temple of god”—– and then he would quote:

First Corinthians 6:19 —- “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

What I don’t know is if he would have said that before or after he beat the shit out of me.
