Rule 40(b): Republicans Set the Stage to Select the Establishment Candidate

As expected, the Republican Party will not follow the candidate who the people select in the primaries. Rule 40(b), which requires a presidential candidate to win eight states to qualify for the nomination, has been scrapped for the upcoming convention in Cleveland. Rule 40(b) was a special rule to prevent Ron Paul’s name from being introduced. Under the present circumstances, the very rule used to put Mitt Romney in the candidate slot would prevent anyone but Trump from being the candidate.

Rule 40(b) only applied to the 2012 Republican Convention in Tampa, Florida, that nominated former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. The chairman is trying to pretend that the delegates pick the nominee, but if they can stop Trump on the first ballot then they are free to vote for whoever they want, which nullifies the entire primary process.

The ceiling will start to crumble when the American people see that their votes do not really count. The establishment picks the nominee — not the people. They will try to do their best to pretend this is a democratic process, but if anyone other than Trump becomes the candidate it will prove that the right to vote is meaningless.

I’ll be 50 in 2 days. I’ve known that our political system is rigged but how terrible is it that a man of my age is just now seeing how it’s being done? Why aren’t high schoolers taught these things?

” but if anyone other than Trump becomes the candidate it will prove that the right to vote is meaningless.”

Martin, there is no “right to vote”. I know you’re from Delaware, but, please……

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”
– John F. Kennedy

We are probably beyond the point of no return and when it is all over, there will not be a western government standing, the jails will be full, and the cabal of criminals occupying the highest offices today will be hung or guillotined or suffer a more gruesome fate. One way or another, justice will be rendered since no nation controlled and governed by criminals can long stand.

From day one I have warned the Trumpeteers that they would never give The Donald the nomination. For many decades I have watched the system and known how TPTB craft elections.

One thing you can take to the bank, the winner is always their puppet. Elections are purely theater and the will of the people means absolutely nothing. The Repugnants will rewrite the rules as they see fit.

As I have stated before, vote with your pocketbook as that is the only leverage we have in the great scheme of things. If the voters targeted and laid waste to a couple of brand names/ corporations that would seriously get their attention.

If nothing else, Trump has shown the “two party” system up for what it is and for all to see: A simple tool of the ruling world Elite Establishment used to keep the people under control so they don’t act up and do anything that can threaten them.

But isn’t it sort of impressive the number of people out there that refuse to see this even when it is so very openly exposed for what it is.

Trump or the world Establishment, your choice.

If the establishment openly rigs the shit show, imagine what is happening behind closed doors.

I am fervently hoping the GOP will be hugely successful in destroying itself during this episode. If that is all that the candidacy of Donald Trump accomplishes, then I will consider it a gift. I wish the Bern could do the same for the Dems.

Time for an independent Trump / Sanders ticket. That should stir things up. No?

“That should stir things up. No?”

Well, the two parties merged decades ago, but I think that Trump would lose most of his support if he let that dipshit anywhere near his campaign..

What we’ll need is an independent run by Trump. Frank Castle should be his VP choice.

George Washington was an indepedent. He warned of the dangers of political parties. They operate by their own rules and are unaccountable. Change will never come through them.
