High demand for “Quality” (Ha, Ha!) meat products = Factory Farming, and all the problems that Industry entails (do I really have to mention Antibiotic resistance yet again).
Factory Farming (for meat) also necessitates bulk killing – not surprisingly the Abattoir business tends to be rather cagey where “humane practices” are concerned, since such practices necessitate well trained staff, and processes that might cut into the bottom line.
How we treat our animals reflects on how we treat one another.
