If God Is Dead…

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

In a recent column Dennis Prager made an acute observation.

“The vast majority of leading conservative writers … have a secular outlook on life. … They are unaware of the disaster that godlessness in the West has led to.”

These secular conservatives may think that “America can survive the death of God and religion,” writes Prager, but they are wrong.
And, indeed, the last half-century seems to bear him out.

A people’s religion, their faith, creates their culture, and their culture creates their civilization. And when faith dies, the culture dies, the civilization dies, and the people begin to die.

Is this not the recent history of the West?

Today, no great Western nation has a birthrate that will prevent the extinction of its native-born. By century’s end, other peoples and other cultures will have largely repopulated the Old Continent.

European Man seems destined to end like the 10 lost tribes of Israel — overrun, assimilated and disappeared.

And while the European peoples — Russians, Germans, Brits, Balts — shrink in number, the U.N. estimates that the population of Africa will double in 34 years to well over 2 billion people.

What happened to the West?

As G. K. Chesterton wrote, when men cease to believe in God, they do not then believe in nothing, they believe in anything.

As European elites ceased to believe in Christianity, they began to convert to ideologies, to what Dr. Russell Kirk called “secular religions.”

For a time, these secular religions — Marxism-Leninism, fascism, Nazism — captured the hearts and minds of millions. But almost all were among the gods that failed in the 20th century.

Now Western Man embraces the newer religions: egalitarianism, democratism, capitalism, feminism, One Worldism, environmentalism.

These, too, give meaning to the lives of millions, but these, too, are inadequate substitutes for the faith that created the West.

For they lack what Christianity gave man — a cause not only to live for, and die for, but a moral code to live by, with the promise that, at the end a life so lived, would come eternal life. Islam, too, holds out that promise.

Secularism, however, has nothing on offer to match that hope.

Looking back over the centuries, we see what faith has meant.

When, after the fall of the Roman Empire, the West embraced Christianity as a faith superior to all others, as its founder was the Son of God, the West went on to create modern civilization, and then went out and conquered most of the known world.

The truths America has taught the world, of an inherent human dignity and worth, and inviolable human rights, are traceable to a Christianity that teaches that every person is a child of God.

Today, however, with Christianity virtually dead in Europe and slowly dying in America, Western culture grows debased and decadent, and Western civilization is in visible decline.

Rudyard Kipling prophesied all this in “Recessional”:

“Far-called our navies melt away; On dune and headland sinks the fire: Lo, all our pomp of yesterday/Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!”

All the Western empires are gone, and the children of once-subject peoples cross the Mediterranean to repopulate the mother countries, whose native-born have begun to age, shrink and die.

Since 1975, only two European nations, Muslim Albania and Iceland have maintained a birthrate sufficient to keep their peoples alive.

Given the shrinking populations inside Europe and the waves of immigrants rolling in from Africa and the Middle and Near East, an Islamic Europe seems to be in the cards before the end of the century.

Vladimir Putin, who witnessed the death of Marxism-Leninism up close, appears to understand the cruciality of Christianity to Mother Russia, and seeks to revive the Orthodox Church and write its moral code back into Russian law.

And what of America, “God’s country”?

With Christianity excommunicated from her schools and public life for two generations, and Old and New Testament teachings rejected as a basis of law, we have witnessed a startlingly steep social decline.

Since the 1960s, America has set new records for abortions, violent crimes, incarcerations, drug consumption. While HIV/AIDS did not appear until the 1980s, hundreds of thousands have perished from it, and millions now suffer from it and related diseases.

Forty percent of U.S. births are out of wedlock. For Hispanics, the illegitimacy rate is over 50 percent; for African-Americans, it’s over 70 percent.

Test scores of U.S. high school students fall annually and approach parity with Third World countries.
Suicide is a rising cause of death for middle-aged whites.

Secularism seems to have no answer to the question, “Why not?”

“How small, of all that human hearts endure, That part which laws or kings can cause or cure,” wrote Samuel Johnson.

Secular conservatives may have remedies for some of America’s maladies. But, as Johnson observed, no secular politics can cure the sickness of the soul of the West — a lost faith that appears irretrievable.

We have not began to witness God’s wrath upon our foolish nation. Only Satan has committed a greater SIN then the American government. This nation is going to burn like no other in history. Part of God’s Judgment is economic. God will let us totally destroy our currency then shit will truly hit the fan.Economic ruin will lead to social and political collapse. Then we will break into different regional powers probably according to race and tribe. I think genocide will occur in the big urban areas.Segregation and Jim Crow laws will rise in some places as blacks become more desperate and white grow even more weary of blacks.Doesn’t look good from my perspective.

the religious people can take offense but i am going to call bullshit (and give zero fucks).

its not that there is no religion or specifically a lack of christianity, its that the hoi polloi are listening to a different fiddler and started prancing after them instead of teh previous fiddlers plucking the strings, doesn’t matter if its Social Justice Warriors, feminists, Nazism, Socialism. The vast majority are worshiper of state or group power with relatively short attention spans.

for instance the birthrate in western civilization may correlate to a lack of religion but is it causation? its a lack of respect for human life and property. what else is a disrespect of human life and property, SJW’s demanding acceptance of others and those who think its “fair” to tax other people to pay for those “less fortunate” with teh strong arm of govt. please tell me, could the the pope be counted as one of these? How about many of the church going people? How many churches strongly support the US’s foreign excursions throughout the globe?

simple fact, most people want to be lead instead of lead themselves so this is nothing more than human nature.
a very small % can look at their choices and opportunities for growth, development and prosperity in regards to what they can control and act on in this world and be content with that.

the religious people i know and associate with who are good people and follow and practice their religious out of devotedness are great but these types of people are fewer than we want to believe. one does not need a religious compass created or guided by someone else to be a moral and good person. and people who think that are the typical assholes who claim to have the answers.

of course it might be a koran instead of a cross this holds true, not because religion itself is bad but people are too prone to following instead of leading themselves.

“God is a concept. Personification of God is pagan.”

1Co 3:19 I say this because the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “He catches those who think they are wise in their own clever traps.” (ERV)

Compare the Christian and Christian influenced world wit the non Christian and non Christian influenced one.

Which do you find superior and why?

I’m on the road traveling today so I don’t have the time to make a substantive response, but this article was one of the best I’ve ever read by Pat Buchanan. I hope Trump, if elected, makes him his closest advisor.

PB has spent his entire life peddling his religious screed all the while sucking at the teet of the poor, weak minded fools who hope that some old white man in a bath robe will reach his hand down from the heavens and pluck them from obscurity and poverty to a life of bread and honey. He spouts the same failed words that have lead us to this hell on earth. His vision of heaven is no different from Islam’s vision of heaven and his requirements to enter heaven are no different from Islam’s requirements. If mankind continues to believe that some god sitting on his throne in heaven is going to make things right then we are all doomed to live in the same world that these sick, depraved, charlatans have created. It is only through enlightenment beyond the cloud of sickly sweet smoke that mankind can be saved. We must be saved from god, not saved through god.

I completely agree.

Those who say “well Christianity has brought more good, freedom, etc, etc” Well I agree. Us humans have only become civilized (excluding neegrows in large metro cities) for the last 10,000 years. For most of that time, nobody understood why things happen. Disease, natural disasters, suffering – so god was invented. God fits nicely in explaining away all that is unknown.

I am the first to recognize the Christianity has helped the advancement of society (compared to Islam). However it is way past time to admit, that now that society is advancing without the need of a anthomoporhised god.

Ultimately Godlessness logically is without ethics or morality. Those have their roots in none other than Jesus the Christ. Only He is the way the truth and the light.

As I explain in my book, There’s Ants in My House

The global expansion of the fascist movement has led us to today’s neoliberal, neoclassical, neofacist, born again, world view. God will not be dropping by any time soon to pull your undies out of the rotisserie. You better figure out how to get your own undies out of the fire.

So the population of Africa will grow like wildfire and most, of not all, other nations will decline in population.

Is thi like bad money chasing out good money? You know, like when silver went out of circulation once other metals were used to make coins?

It’s simple biology: they mature sexually earlier, they ovulate more eggs (more multiple births), they have more sex, their gestation is less, they wean babies sooner; i.e., they out reproduce Whites and Asians.

Western Civilization has been and will remain the primary engine of human progress. Western religions have played a role in shaping Western Civilization. Having said that, it appears clear the most of the movers and shakers who have advanced Western Civilization over the centuries used their religion as a cover for their ambition, avarice, power-seeking and blood lust.

“Being secular does not mean the State becomes your God.”

No, but it does make you vulnerable to such ideas. Look at Ayn Rand. She went from being secular to being a self-worshipping lunatic, ending up supporting the very worst aspect of state action of her time: war.

It’s been an unnatural transformation because TPTB are a godless cult that got control of our money (the Federal Reserve Banking System) and bought Hollywood, the Press/Mass Media, the Corporations, the Politicians, the universities etc and purposefully secularized and perverted America to purposely destroy Christianity. The masses are naturally ignorant and the cult purposely made that worse (dumbed downed schools, Affirmative Discrimination, Great Society Welfare etc) so that the Useful Idiot Sheeple are lining up to be murdered by The NWO Cult’s Genocide Shot just as surely as with guillotines, firing squads, death camps, Great Leaps Forward and cool-aid. American liberals “drank the cool-aid” and within 2-3 years America will be like Jonestown, Zimbabwe, Venezuela etc and China will just walk in to collect it’s debts. I believe God will save a Righteous Christian remnant but the godless will be on their own.
