Yes, that has been my experience, Wip. About 95% of the time that I hear “They can look all they wan’t. I have nothing to hide,” (or any version of that) it is from a woman. In reality, though, they should be saying (if they wanted to be honest): “I’m so addicted to my gadget and not willing to overcome that addiction, so I’m not going to think about that.”

That and/or they imagine government officials to be benevolent and beyond reproach. The number of times I’ve heard that their actions are “looking out for you” or the question of “Why would [this] government do anything to harm its citizens?” while still beliving in evil dictators elsewhere is beyond belief.
