There isn’t any equality in anything

I’d like to tell everyone -the world if I could – that is no equality in anything short of extreme scientific comparisons of like atoms to a very fine scale.

Beyond that, we’re screwed as far as “equality” is concerned.  It’s a myth.  A human construct. A concept that is totally fucked up by unequal intellectual cognition and mumbling that passes for thought and a sorry and destructive (and political) effort to mash every living being with two legs, two arms, a head and the questionable ability to perhaps scratch his ass – excluding those of us who didn’t make the cut out of the tree yet –  into the same “equal” bucket…..

The what-used-to-be useful U.S.Constitution made a big semantic mistake with that phrase, “All men are created equal.”  They could not foresee in 240 years that there would be a thing called “political correctness” or that large numbers of citizens would turn into drones, neither understanding what they meant or care about it and our government would evolve into a politically correct group that throws common sense and human sensibilities in the trash.

It is readily ascertainable that no one is created equal.. Even identical twins are not “equal” in all respects.  I’m white, he’s brown, she’s red, he’s black and even a slight shade of yellow is present here and there and growing fast.  There are people of all those different colors with I.Q.’s from near zip-squat to 150 or more – scattered out it a bell curve with some races enjoying a better shape of the bell curve than others.  Some are tall, others short, some broad and muscular, some skinny, some are male and some are female and some don’t have a clue what they are or are of some odd, in between, sexual status.

But “equal” it’s not.  Never. Ever. No how. No way.

So, as I think I’ve said before in another Minute – but worth repeating – the Constitution should have read, “All men are created with the right to equal opportunities to succeed and prosper to the best of their abilities.”  But not just equal, period.

If the Constitution read as I have suggested, then – then – we could spend our time and efforts to insure everyone and I mean every man, woman and whomever of any gender, color, creed or personal beliefs will enjoy equal opportunities to “prosper to the best of their abilities”.

There will be, as has been the case throughout recorded history, a few people who won’t try to do shit for themselves but feel they should be catered to and cared for.  I’m not talking about the handicapped (mental or physical for any reason from birth to war) because any civilization that is worthy of its’ name takes care of both the handicapped and elderly who can no longer work and strive for better days.  Those, we must establish a minimum amount of support on an individual basis and provide it.  We share the cost and extra work it takes to do it.  That’s being civilized.  A condition, I hope, we strive to learn how to be.

Now, instead of power elites running things, our political representatives can busy themselves making sure everyone gets a square shot at achievement instead of the current crony capitalism that makes sure a few profit greatly and screw all the others.

If the schools are not up to par in an area, then the local school board can make sure standards and teaching capability is improved until the children will have equal opportunity  to learn to the best of their ability.  Those sad little people who, perhaps from a single parent home, with no discipline will either be taught discipline by the school (special ops!) or not as determined by the parents.  If not, then they are gently removed so as not to disrupt the rest of the classes opportunity to do their best.  And so it goes down the line.

Those removed?  They are shit out of luck until such time they get their act together, their parents teach them what they should have been taught before entering school or the end up on the scrap heap of humanity.  they have no “right” to disrupt others in the pursuit of excellence.

This requires all of us (Black, Brown, White –et al) to accept personal responsibility and take personal action that our offspring (after all – what’s the future about anyhow) are sent to school with the proper pre-school training at at home, not in some preschool which is, often as not, a baby sitting service with no good care, no small-person training or orientation, no disciplinary requirements no n-o-t-h-i-n-g.

Not ever going to happen you say??  Maybe not with a minority of people and they will have to accept responsibility for lack of everything they should have done.  The rest of us will still have police forces (much smaller and more citizen oriented), courts and jails..  The human race has too many members to expect everyone will go along with this whole thing of personal responsibility and those with less ability will be jealous and lust for the things they may not be able to have or expect the rest of us to support them.  A robber will still be a robber, a rapist will still be a rapist and drunks will stay drunks, so our earth will never imitate the nebulous picture of the garden of Eden.

But damn it all, we aught to try..

There is no equality in anything ! Yep ,but not for the reasons you think.God did it in creating creation. That’s something liberals progressives elites will never understand. An example is ethnic divisions .Racial divisions. It was God at the Tower of Babel that created ethnic division as a judgment upon PRIDEFUL arrogant disobedience. It was God that divided mankind into inequalities. Read the biblical account.

This is why multiculturalism does and will always fail. Multiculturalism is not God’s order for humans.Multiculturalism and diversity is where nations go to die .America will be no different . Muck ,I hope you keep posting your minutes. I love setting you straight.

Dumb Canadian question – I thought it was the Declaration of Independence and not the Constitution that talks about equality? Do ya’ll use them interchangeably or did I just miss the part on equality in the Constitution??? Not trying to be an ass… just looking to be educated (I probably missed something since I don’t read either frequently). Anyways – when I read this from the Declaration:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”

The writing is pretty clear to me – your founders didn’t intend for this to read as though it were part of the communist manifesto. They were talking about the natural rights which spring forth from us as part of our nature or as given to us by God. It’s why they used the word “pursuit” because they knew that in terms of economic inheritance and ability that we were indeed, not equal. The only thing that was equal between us was our standing before God and in our ‘legal’ relationships with each other and the state. They are speaking of equality of natural reciprocal rights and the right to pursue our happiness, not equality or a guarantee of opportunity or outcome.

That it has not played out this way is not evidence of inequality but of entropy. All systems decay and all systems of the west which are built upon similar principles are in some state of it. But this is the difference between is and ought and not evidence of said equality’s non existence. It is still there – waiting to be discovered again.

I think you nailed it. I think the meaning of “equality” is found in the very sentence where it appears. I think that makes sense if you change just one word;

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal BECAUSE they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”

In other words, God created the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness equally in all men.

Therefore they don’t believe in God given or inalienable rights, or the Constitution or the Bill of Rights or the Declaration of Independence or the Founders.

They believe in whatever their party leaders tell them they should believe in, and vote acordingly.

You are a mystery wrapped up in an enigma. You are also a class ‘A’ troll. Oddly – for some reason that I cannot explain, I suspect there is a truly good guy lurking somewhere behind the persona you present here. Which is why I read almost all of your posts – I can hardly wait to see what you write next and to read the reactions from some of your most staunch critics. I have this feeling that every time Stucky calls you a name that, behind your monitor, you are grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Well, I think when we apply concepts like entropy (which is a physical state) to ideas like liberty – which is a social construct – then we are speaking metaphorically to some degree. The point is the same though – if we do not maintain our social systems – educational, legislative, judicial etc then they too fall into a state of disrepair and can eventually become tools of oppression rather than the vanguards of human liberty they were originally intended to be. In that sense we put very little energy into their maintenance. As a civilization we are distracted and intellectually lazy. We are our own worst enemy and our systems reflect that laziness. That does not mean we are ALL guilty (or TBP etc would not exist) but by and large there are too few of us to stop the regression that is taking place all around us.

In physics terms, entropy is neither a state or a process, it is measurement quantifying the order of energy. The law associated with entropy is the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states for every process, energy moves from a higher order to a lower order. There are philosophical implications of course, which is why entropy gets used in place of the 2nd Law most of the time. One of the biggest philosophical implications is that the Universe is irrevocably changed with each passing instant. In other words, no two moments in time are equal–another thing that could be added to a fine list Muck.

I’ve often had a similar thought to what you assert in the article. Whenever I hear the saying “No two snowflakes are alike.” I think, well that is because a snowflake is a vast, randomly formed crystal structure of water molecules. When looked at through this lens (as you do) the one can easily say: “No two OBJECTS are alike.” In all of the Cosmos, most likely. That’s a big idea to get one’s head around.

Oh, the point I forgot to make about the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics: it is speaking only of ENERGY in processes. It has nothing to do with complexity of said processes, ie biological complexity.
