ANOTHER REASON TO NOT SHOP AT TARGET

Target has gone all in on the SJW agenda, with all gender bathrooms and now product lines for deviants. In a shocking development, traffic into their stores declined last quarter. The idiot executives of this retailer will get another rude awakening next quarter when traffic drops again. Their liberal agenda will backfire big time on these jokers.

@Dutchman: why, it’s normal of course! Don’t you go around telling people just how hetero you are, wearing hetero clothes, doing hetero song & dance routines, and basically rubbing your hetero-ness in everyone’s face?

What?? You don’t? Weirdo.

Wip,

They’re based in Minneapolis, so they probably figure the gays are 1/2 of the population.

Go to target, put 50lbs of meat in the bottom of a cart, load it with all kinds of dumb shit. Go to the register and ask if this is the store where they value lgbt things over normal folk. Then leave that cart right there and walk out.

Target misses the point. In the rush to be all inclusive they are eroding the base that made them a successful retail outlet. With the excess of retail establishments and the proliferation of online shopping many like me who could care less about Target will shop elsewhere, not because they are a worse retail chain than say Kohl’s, but because they feel the need to preach to me about political correctness. If I want to be preached to I will go to church, otherwise STFU and sell shit at a competitive price. That’s your fucking job. You have one job, just fucking do it.

The irony is many gays are getting pissed at this shit. The had a nice quiet accepting life, the vast majority of people could care less that you are gay any more than they care if you black or Episcopalian. Now that it is being shoved into everyone’s face they are starting to see that not everyone will quietly accept the extremes of these lifestyles being foisted upon them. It is not a phobia or the fear of change, it’s that we do not care about your lifestyle as long as it does not interfere with what we value but there is no need to force feed it to us 24/7. We are sick and tired of it, we get it you are gay or whatever, go to work pay your taxes, raise your family and get out of my face. Most people want to live a quiet life but not for a few loud mouth assholes who think they know what is best for us, most of could. If these loudmouth assholes wanted to rile people up they had better be careful what they wish for.

Y’know, pride is one of the 7 deadly sins. ‘Course, bein’ a queer is a venal sin, or maybe it’s a mortal sin. Couple of my pow wow friends are Catholics, so I’ll ask them which kinda sin it is.

Anyway, bein proud of bein a queer would be a double plus kinda sin, I guess.

So I’m thinking that the former CEO of JC Penny has got another gig at Target. How else would you explain a modestly successful retailer modifying their business model to cater to a fraction of the country’s population knowing full well that it is pissing off its’ core customer base. Freaking brilliant, brilliant I say. Only Ron Johnson is this smart………………….

Two thoughts:
1. Gays are what 1-2% of population? Talk about catering to a very small minority population of buyers and the risk of alienating the other 98%. The marketing person responsble for this should be fired.
2. I never really got the the target thing. As far as I can tell it is just an overpriced Walmart or a poor man’s Macy’s. Their ads were amusing say 5-10 years ago, but the store now lacks any coherent theme. Just pathetic.

Never been in a target. Now i have a reason not to ever go in one. Weird things happen when you have a gay president. Can’t end soon enough for me.

Like a lot of commodity retailers, while selling 99% the same stuff as Mallwart, Target attempted to make itself look more upscale/smart/cool, and was briefly successful at this in the 90’s. I’m sure they still think of themselves that way, as do some of the dullest sheep offspring of late boomers / early X’ers. But it is basically an overpriced Walmart with more housewares and less man stuff. For example, back in the 90’s Target had an OK auto department and Walmart was in fewer states than it is today. Now Target has an auto department that can barely help a metrosexual hipster with a Prius, and Walmart is EVERYWHERE.

He’s probably a queer, so his job is safe. He could sue them if they fire him for doing something gay in marketing.

Ed–you’re probably right on the marketing person. But this isn’t some queer New York store, this is a Minnesota based company–somewhat suprising. At any rate they seem to have potentially alienated a large swath of their customers–mostly midwester wannabes who thing target is a midwest hipster store or something. Just pathetic.

@Jim: Minnesota is a very strange place in some ways, and you can’t assume that Midwestern values and principles apply there even if they would in all of its neighbors (even Manitoba!). The Twin Cities like to think of themselves as NY/SF but better, and you get some weirdness and some really, really bad decisions from the governments there, despite the huge, HUGE set of advantages they started out with.

Minnesota outside the Twin Cities is mostly good but still different, not the same as its neighbors. What people think of as “Midwestern” tends to be an amalgamation of Indiana and Kansas, and the rest of the Midwest is varied.

I already stopped buying at Target.

Recently, we decided to boycott Amazon due to Bezos’s need to go full-monty on Trump via the Washington Post.

Methinks that radical corporatocracy will bring back the mom & pop shops.
Karma…
