Chick-Fil-A sandwiches abound at the Democratic National Convention, and some of the delegates aren’t happy about it.
Conference attendees can buy Chick-Fil-A sandwiches both inside and outside the convention arena. Joe Sacco, a Democratic delegate from Nevada who supports Senator Bernie Sanders and attended the LGBT caucus, told The Daily Caller News Foundation he’s unhappy Chick-Fil-A is being served.
“That was just really disappointing,” Sacco told TheDCNF. “I would hope that the DNC would be more sensitive in the future to the LGBT community.”
Many LGBT supporters boycotted the fast food chain after CEO Dan Cathy publicly spoke in favor of traditional marriage in 2012. Sacco said he’s not the only upset and that many other delegates shared his sentiment and were vocal about it.
“People were not happy about it, but it wasn’t just gay people who were not happy about it,” Sacco told The DCNF. “It was gay people and straight people and our allies, and the workers, in fact, also understood when we took a few moments to explain why we don’t support Chick-Fil-A.”
Sonya Lewis, an openly lesbian delegate seen holding a pro-LGBT sign, told TheDCNF she was unhappy with Chick-Fil-A being served.
“The owner is homophobic,” Lewis told TheDCNF. “I don’t buy Chick Fil A on purpose.”
Both Lewis and Sacco acknowledged there may be contractual obligations that require the Wells Fargo Center to allow Chick-Fil-A’s food, but both said they disapprove of the fast food company.
“They’re the type of company that closes on Sunday, puts money into lobbying against the LGBT community, and for that reason I will never support Chick-Fil-A until they change their ways,” Sacco said.
Since all that noise about Chick-Fil-A came out (pun intended), we’ve done our part to go there once a week or so for lunch. Our kids love the food and the play area, and the service there is consistently great. The employees, a mix of youngsters and retirees and a few in between are always courteous and attentive, and we’ve never gotten a “blackitude” from an employee there. Waffle fries rock too. Just doing our part to support free speech…
Funny, ain’t it? He’s outraged that Chick Fil’A closes on Sunday, as well. He probably used to hate Blockbuster because they didn’t rent porn.
Funny how when violent, oppressive leftists boycott something, like chick fil a, its earnings typically receive a noticeable boost when non SJWs purposely give them business since we tend to both have jobs and income and don’t like seeing people or companies bullied by these PC police, but when the right decides to boycott something, there is a drop in sales, but also a noticeable lack of threats or violence.

Had never been there before 2012 hubbub, then we went, its a nice environment with good kids working and food thats desecent for being fast food, probably go once a month.

I really don’t know why they’re so upset. Chick-Fil-A designed several specialty dishes just for the convention;
Chick-Fil-Fag; — white meat which ages brown as the chicken gains life experiences and cums with a special secret sauce.
Chick-Fil-Lez; — very small bite sized breasts from GMO chickens bred to be obnoxious, ugly and with hair under their wings. The meat is tough and stringy, meant to imitate jerky.
Chick-Fil-Dem; — chicken wings from chickens who identified as cows; only Left Wings, of course.
I don’t know why they would be upset. Now that chick fil a has the “egg white grill” after taking away the beloved spicy chicken biscuit! This was a result of all the market research they did in NYC to push this abomination of a sandwich to liberals.
They should also have a gay day at chick fil a to accommodate their new patrons.
