The news is now full of reports that Hillary Clinton had some sort of “episode” as she was getting into her assisted living van. It’s possible she was still drunk from the night before or maybe just so hungover she could barely walk. The campaign says she has pneumonia, which could mean anything or nothing. She has disappeared from sight so we’re left to speculate, but she is clearly a woman with serious health problems. The question people are beginning to ask is can she continue to campaign? If not, will she be forced to drop out? What would happen if she did?
The funny thing about all of this is most Americans don’t know how we actually select Presidents. The voting that is done in November will not, as a legal matter, select the next President. Voting merely selects the electors who will then meet on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December. They actually meet in their respective state capitals where they cast their votes for President and Vice President. All but Maine and Nebraska have a winner take all system for selecting electors so your vote sort of matters, unless you live in a one-party state.
Similarly, each state has rules for getting on the November ballot. For example, Evan McMuffin, the Never Trump candidate, missed the deadline to be on many state ballots. This applies to the party candidates, as well, so a last minute change would create complications for the Democrats. If Hillary Clinton was suddenly incapacitated or simply quit the race, the Democrats would have a problem. They would have to go to court in some states to have their new candidate listed on the ballot. It’s not impossible, but it would be a complication.
So, what are the possible scenarios?
At this late date, finding a replacement would be complicated. The Democrat Party has rules for this scenario so they could move quickly. The rules strongly encourage the party to pick the runner up, but they can pick anyone to fill the slot. Bernie Sanders would be the obvious option, but that would mean certain defeat to Donald Trump, the nightmare scenario for both parties. The Bernie Bros are committed, but their numbers are limited. Most Americans would assume his nomination is a surrender.
They could go with a famous person with some traction in the party, but the choices are limited. Joe Biden is famous, but old and prone to saying wildly offensive things to black people and women. Elizabeth Warren is popular with the crazies, but she scares normal people. She’s also a very poor campaigner. She passed on a chance to run and passed on the VP spot. This makes forcing Clinton aside a troublesome scenario simply because the other options are only slightly better than having a corpse at the top of the ticket,
That brings up another option. Imagine that on Halloween it is reported that Clinton fell off her broom again and hit her head, rendering her incapacitated. The Democrats could reach out to Congressional Republicans and ask for a delay in the election. Congress does not have the power to dictate when people vote. They do have the power to decide when the Electors must be selected by the states. Congress could work with the states to postpone the election to December 3 in order to sort things out.
This brings us back to the first scenario, but the difference here is the crisis feel would open another dimension. The Democrats would feel free to pick anyone they like and would probably consult with the Republicans to come up with a “senior statesman” they could offer up as safe choice in a crisis. In other words, this delay would allow both parties to reset the game board so that the election was no longer about the insurgent Trump versus the corrupt system. Instead, it would be about the steady hand in a time of crisis versus the irrational hothead.
Another scenario, the high risk scenario, is for Congress to cancel the election entirely. Article II gives Congress the power to set the date electors are chosen so they can delay this indefinitely. Speaker Ryan would become acting President until Congress could come up with a new election date. Since Republicans control something like 35 state legislatures, they could stall the process so that they can stack the Electoral College with party members, who would pick a party insider. A governor like Kasich or even Jeb Bush could be installed as president.
Those are the Machiavellian scenarios. Given the nature of the political class, it seems unlikely that any of those would happen, even if Clinton drops dead tomorrow. Even so, it offers a little glimpse into the future. Over the last century, we have invested enormous power into the office of President. If you’re wondering how we can flip from republic to empire, a crisis such as the above would offer the opportunity. One candidate that is unacceptable and one that is dead, opens the door for the political class to bypass the voters and install their own man.

I agree. My uncle had Parkinson’s and on most days, he functioned very, very well, just as Hillbitch seems able. However, on days when there were seizures or “freezes” he could not manage without assistance.

This election cycle has been better than I ever could have imagined. Watching her implode has brought me almost as much joy as when my children were born but more than helping to conceive them. Is that wrong?
What is terribly sad for women like myself is that once upon a time, when first presented with the opportunity to consider the “new” first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a potential First Woman Elected to the Presidency, I actually read a tome favorable to her and wondered if she might not be a decent Lady Prez. Of course, that was LONG before the true nature of the Hildabeast was known and another presidency or two before her family’s ambitious globe-trotting pay to play prostitution of U.S. diplomacy .
(Let’s face it… there was a LOT of dollar diplomacy in China and Vietnam leading up to the debacle that was once known as “The Vietnam War” but the Clinton Foundation’s selling U.S. Policy influence for high dollar lectures by Bill on how to remove stains from blue dresses takes the prize.)
So, it is a terrible thing to see someone you once regarded as capable of being a good leader exposed as a narcissistic self-serving POS that she really is. She’s unfit to stand on that podium as the “First Woman President” in my opinion, because she doesn’t measure up to the HIGH STANDARDS I demand from my women role models.
Having a woman president is currently unconstitutional. Article Two of the Constitution:
“The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. HE shall hold HIS Office during the Term of four Years…”

The scary question for me is this: at this moment, would it be in the best interests of the Deep State for Hillary to be dead or alive? I suspect her life is in grave danger at present, and not from PD nor pneumonia.

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign just made a massive error. We’ll know within the next few weeks if the error will prove to be catastrophic.
On Sunday, Clinton abruptly left a Manhattan ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. A video shows her shakily stumbling while trying to get into a van to leave. The candidate’s physician later offered this explanation: Clinton has had an allergy-related cough for some time, and during an examination on Friday, the Democratic nominee was diagnosed with pneumonia, put on antibiotics, and told to take time out to rest. She became overheated and dehydrated during Sunday morning’s event, which led her to collapse. She’s now home in Chappaqua and on the road to recovery.
Compare this timeline to details from Hillary Clinton’s public schedule and behavior over these same two days.
After Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia and put on antibiotics, she did not, as her physician recommended, take time out to rest. Instead, she attended a fundraiser featuring Barbra Streisand. Then on Sunday morning, she attended the 9/11 commemoration, became “overheated,” and woozily wobbled rather dramatically. Ninety minutes later she exited her daughter Chelsea’s apartment building to tell the press she was “feeling great.” The Secret Service permitted a young girl to come over to give the candidate a hug.
It was only a few hours later when her campaign finally announced that she has pneumonia and is recovering.
The most charitable reading of this timeline is that her campaign — presumably with the blessing and perhaps insistence of the candidate — fully intended to keep her illness a secret from the public. Let’s be clear about what this means: Her campaign intended to lie. Even though doing so would require her to keep up a public schedule that might well make her condition worse and require ever-more elaborate forms of concealment. Because, of course, to curtail her schedule would raise questions that might reveal the truth.
So even after she collapsed, the campaign decided the ruse would continue. It arranged for the candidate to make her curbside declaration of wellness, even bringing on the girl to give her a “spontaneous” hug. (Clinton’s protection detail would never have permitted a genuinely spontaneous embrace on the street, even by a child.)
It’s easy to understand why the Clinton campaign would want to keep this kind of news a secret. The candidate doesn’t trust the media. The right has been hitting her over supposed health issues for months (and even years), and the assault has picked up in intensity over the past week or so — since Clinton found herself in the midst of an extended coughing fit at a campaign event in Cleveland. Then there’s the gender dynamic. Donald Trump presents himself as a hyper-masculine tough guy, while Clinton is the first female presidential nominee. The Clinton camp is probably twice as terrified of their candidate looking frail as a less path-breaking campaign would be.
So the campaign chose to lie. The potential reward was considerable: namely, an absence of politically damaging news stories about Clinton’s medical condition. But the risk was enormous — and it’s blown up in their faces. Because now the story isn’t just that Clinton is ill. It’s that, once again, she’s untrustworthy — and this time about her own health.
That’s why the announcement that she has pneumonia will only fuel more speculation about Clinton’s physical condition, with potentially no end in sight. The world saw her collapse, and 90 minutes later, the candidate looked America in the eye and proclaimed that she was feeling great. Except now we know that she wasn’t.
Not long after this charade, someone on the campaign staff made the call to come clean. But it may well have been too late.
The best the campaign can hope for now is that Clinton recovers quickly and soon looks healthy in her public appearances. Then maybe the topic will recede into the background of the campaign. The candidate got sick, but then she got better. End of story.
But if she doesn’t recover quickly? If she appears weak and frail for more than a few days? Then, yes, she’ll face perfectly reasonable questions about whether she’s physically up to serving as president. But worse, she’ll confront lingering doubts about what, precisely, is ailing her. “It’s pneumonia,” the campaign will proclaim over and over again. To which a skeptical America will justifiably reply, “Yes, we can tell that you’d like us to think so. But we have no reason to trust that’s true.”
Political trust is a fragile thing. Once it’s gone, it’s exceedingly difficult to get back — and without it, there’s no basis on which to dismiss conspiracy theories that even normally level-headed observers will begin, for perfectly understandable reasons, to entertain.
Like so many of the scandals and pseudo-scandals that have dogged Hillary Clinton and her husband through the years, this one needs to be recognized as entirely self-inflicted. The campaign now has to live with the consequences of having chosen to lie to get out of a problem.
With any Clinton, it depends upon what the meaning of the word is… is.

I don’t understand why everybody seems so quick to accept her campaign’s claim of pneumonia. They lie about everything and her signs and symptoms don’t match the diagnosis. Even though she’s been couging, pneumonia normally causes a productive cough. And pneumonia, after all is often readily treatable and can resolve completely. Whatever it is that she’s got (some clinicians have strongly suggested Parkinsons which usually is progressively debilitating) doesn’t look (or smell) like pneumonia. Why hide pneumonia?

1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.
2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.
3. Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.
4. Getting a name change at the top of the ballot has maybe a week or two left to be a successful strategy for the two major parties- after the third week of September, you will have missed the deadline in too many states. However, as you point out, each state election is actually a vote for the chosen electoral slate of each candidate, so it might make more sense for the Democrats, for example, to simply keep Clinton on the ballots if she died or withdrew. The DNC could convene and select a new candidate they proclaim as the party’s candidate and ask/direct the electors Clinton had selected to vote for that candidate should Clinton’s name win the vote in the state.
There are three problems I see with this strategy, however: (1) just because the DNC would select the new candidate for the electors to vote for, there is no guarantee that unselected Democrats might offer themselves as options for the electors in competition, and divide the vote; I consider this a minor quibble, however; (2) I don’t know the election law in all the states, but it isn’t inconceivable that Clinton victories after a death or withdrawal wouldn’t get certified by the state, or face court challenges on a broad basis; however, I again think this is a minor point; and finally (3), going with Clinton’s name after a death or withdrawal will require a massive voter education project for the Democrats- the voters wanting a Democrat as president would have to be taught to vote for a candidate not in the race- I can easily imagine losing anywhere from 5-10% of your potential votes just due to errors
Also, early voting has already started in some states like Florida & North Carolina. If they swap in someone before the election, any votes cast early for Hillary Clinton become worthless. It’s not like they could be assigned to Biden (or whoever).
I wonder how many lawsuits will be filed if she wins demanding disqualification due to incapacitation? After all, it seems like we’re close to 25th Amendment territory already and she’s not yet crowned. Where does the law fit on that one?
And what world leader is going to give her the time of day when they know she’s a heartbeat away from being replaced. And they all know she says and does things and doesn’t remember them later, so nothing she does counts. Who will respect President Bobble Head?
It would be interesting to know what Barbra Streisand and the Hollywood elites are thinking knowing that Hillary was diagnoses with phenomena just prior to meeting/mingling with them. They give her hundreds of thousands or maybe millions and she exposes them to pneumonia.
All this talk about Hillcunt dropping out is Pure Speculation. Almost bullshit, actually. Being POTUS has been Hillcunt’s goal her entire life. The bitch won’t drop out even if literally on life support. She WILL see this through the end. I have no crystal ball, … it’s just the opinion of a poor painter.

My predictions at this point are as follows.
1. The Dems now realize Hillary cannot be allowed to debate Trump. With limited commercial breaks, the potential for her deplorable health to be revealed to the masses is too extreme. She also cannot skip the debates, because they are a tradition which has been engrained into the electoral process. The debates are the single biggest impediment to her coasting toward election day. Therefore, whatever is going to happen in regards to her candidacy, it’s going to happen rather quickly. Within the next two weeks, and likely before that.
2. If she is replaced on the ticket, the Dems will not have time to replace her name on each state’s ballot. The zombies will still show up to vote for “Hillary Clinton,” but the new candidate will be understood to have taken her place. Since the party has really pushed the “woman vs. the world” narrative, they will probably pick a woman. Michelle Obama would probably like to wield power in the house that slaves built.
3. The election will not be postponed, nor will Obama remain in office. The current two party system has served TPTB too well to be upended. The perception by the masses that they can “vote the rascals out” must not be compromised. The people are placated under the current system and any disruption to their normal routine would only galvanize them.
Short of Hillary checking out for good the fix is probably still in . The drunken comparison to Chruchhill is a bit much , Chruchhill was a statesman of honor and integrity not without faults but drinking too much at a time when he knew full well the decisions he made sent thousands of young men to their deaths . Any person forced to commit young men to such a sacrifice I find easy to overlook some after hours drunken behavior and having a clue the human cost of combat I will join Winston in the pool of brandy .
