He looked good for the first 30 minutes, but he started coming unglued towards the end. She got to him. He missed so many opportunities to hammer her and he didn’t. This was painful to watch. I can’t stand Clinton but she kept her composure and trump didn’t. He has to form coherent sentences and finish them and stop going back and forth. There is so fucking much negative material on her and he just let her skate by. Not a good night for him. A prepared debater could have patiently waited for her to finish rather than speak over her constantly and then skewered her nonsense, but he just couldn’t help himself. Really needs to get some self control before the next one.

Gator. That’s a very accurate take. No blood drawn, lots of missed opportunities. He was sniffling, wonder if he had a cold.

No break out moments for either one if you ask me. Trump should have brought up the Clinton Foundation when they were talking about tax returns. Blew it on the no fly list too. He should have brought up her wall street cronies.

Trump was a human being and Hillary was a robot. Her smile reminded me of Jimmy Carter’s during the Carter-Reagan debates. She did the old tricks, eye rolling, exclamations, and invoking the “fact checkers,” then avoiding issues. Everybody is going to remember her hammering on Trump’s tax return and his retort: he’ll release his return when she releases 33,000 e-mails. Trump held his own and that’s probably all he had to do. Sure there are some debating points he could have made, but some of Hillary’s were inane. She brought up a Justice Dept. lawsuit from 1973. She played all the race and sex cards, which will play well with her base and the press, but have increasingly less traction with the general populace. I may be a victim of my own confirmation bias, but I give it to Trump. He got her on Libya, the DNC’s hack job on Sanders, the e-mails, her “stamina” (code for health), the “mess in the Middle East,” “superpredators,” minority victims of crimes, Chicago violence, vanishing factories and jobs, the stock market bubble, the Federal Reserve’s politicized policy, and the economy, et al. She brought up a lot of trivial stuff: his tax returns, his “stiffing employees,” his debt, his bankruptcies, the birther controversy, and so on. What’s going to resonate more with most voters?

Her alleged health issues are put to rest here, she came across as healthy vibrant and energetic.

Much of Trump’s gains have come from those concerned with Hillary being medically fit for the Presidency, those will now swing back to Hillary.

Unless something new appears, anyone claiming her health is an issue will be making himself look foolish in the eyes of the general public now.

This debate may well have won the Presidency for her unless she screws something up before November, and Hillary has a history of getting away with anything and everything so it would have to be a really big screw up.

In any other election I would agree but this time folks are looking for a change. She is the same horse with a different saddle.

As for her health are you kidding she was dead on her feet two weeks ago. All Trump’s team have to do is release the video of her getting thrown into vanbulance and it is front and center again.

So, WW3 it is, then 🙂

We were able to watch brief (therefore edited) clips via Aussie MSM, and the only comment I remember from one of our “Senior” Staff members was “He really needs to get something done about that hairpiece – it’s such an obvious (and bad) fake”.

News to me – I thought The Donald’s hair was legit! 🙂

Wait, there’s more. If you order now, you get not only this debate but we’ll include two more for the same price.

No doubt Trump is saving the fireworks for the following debates. Remember, this is the consummate showman who said he had to build excitement before granting Obama legitimacy, declaring that yes, Obama was a legal citizen.

Like Indentured I don’t watch Trump as a general rule nor do I watch Hitlery. In order to offer an opinion on this political WWF shit show, I watched for a while.
As I predicted, Harpy was freakin healthy as a horse. Trump looked like a used car salesman with a dead squirrel on top of his head. Agree with Stucky that Trump seemed angry.
They both talk shit and Trump seriously did not finish a sentence and talks in circles just as I/S has pointed out.

I remain completely sure I will stay home on election day as I see nothing in either one. The big loser was neither Clinton or Trump but the voters who only have criminal #1 and criminal #2 to choose from.
May have been more of a debate if the third and fourth party candidates had been included and no I would not vote for them either.

I think Trump was really nervous. This is something big, even for him, and it showed in his being a little less articulate. He’ll likely do better next time. He does need to freshen up the one-liners in his schtick though.

He’s not articulate. That’s why he needs to be armed with a few solid examples of Hillary’s greed and corruption and focus on finding every opportunity to bring them up and avoid the traps she sets where he wastes time defending himself against her accusations. He got caught up in talking about himself far too many times last night. The fact that he’s a successful businessman is extent of the relevant info that needed about his business. Move the fuck on!

If Trump has to go back into the ring, he needs to stop talking about himself and his company. Christ, who the fuck cares? Stay focused on the issues. And stop falling into her traps where he wastes his time defending himself instead of hitting back at her. He walked into that debate with a shitload of ammunition and didn’t even draw his gun. He might have started to reach for it once or twice but that was about it. I don’t think it a total disaster but I was disappointed. I should note that I tried to assess it from the standpoint of an uniformed voter, since our nation is up to its tits in people that don’t have a fucking clue.

I wish someone could make a Trump mask for Newt to wear for the next debate.

I hope Scott Adams writes one of his columns showing how this debate – which seemed like a total failure for Trump – was actually some sort of masterpiece of persuasion where in three days all anyone can remember is that Trump is a Great Leader and Hillary would have Russia nuking us within a week of Inauguration Day.

Greetings,

If I were producing this then I would have done it no differently for Trump. Coming at Clinton like a maniac doesn’t do Trump any good – not yet anyways. See, this was just the opening act – the warm up band.

Napoleon once said that you shouldn’t fight the same enemy too many times because then you teach them your art of war. With that in mind, Trump wasn’t fighting tonight but was, instead, getting a feel for his opponent, the stage and the atmosphere. After all, we are still far enough away from the election that he can afford a tie or even a loss.

Trump is going to let the Clinton camp walk away believing that they have defeated him. The next debate will be similar except you’ll see Trump land several well placed blows and some will call it a tie but most will see a slight victory for Trump. The final two debates will be when you see Trump come at Clinton with everything he has. The final debate will be when he hits her the hardest because there will be no more debates for her to try to redeem herself.

As we learned in Psychology class, the last thing you hear is the thing you tend to remember.

It’s funny that I am only seeing the physical tics and mannerisms rather than listening to the words- 90% of everything she said sounded like goobledeegook to me, no substance just long strings of words that contained triggers and sound bytes.

He has a cold, clearly (sniffing). She is medicated, obviously (35-40 eye-blinks per minute). Her vocal pacing was way off, if she wasn’t getting earbud reception than she was reading off a script on the podium, far too many breaks in places where normal recitation would be seamless.

Twice she looked very frightened, both times when he mentioned her vulnerabilities, I think it was the 30 years dig, didn’t catch the second one, but her eyes (something is wrong with the muscle control on the top lid of her right eye) registered fear and her body stance looked like she was about to bolt.

He was clearly uncomfortable each time it got personal and every time his business dealing were impugned. His ego is his biggest vulnerability.

I agree with Nicklethrower’s assessment that this was a test drive to set up for the next debates and that you’ll see a far more prepared guy coming out at her. She is going to be told that she killed by her minions and that won’t help her prepare, but whatever she did to get ready for last night was as good as she could have hoped for. That was quite the physical recovery from the slab of meat performance on 9/11.

I had a friend over to watch the debate and I know he wanted me to shut my vodka hole, but I couldn’t stop yelling “Clinton Foundation” at the TV. I especially wanted him to bring up how she robbed the people of Haiti. There’s hard evidence on that, it may have helped cut into her support from stupid blacks and it’s a perfect example of her soullessness. It was extremely disappointing that he failed to capitalize on so many opportunities, especially considering the smorgasbord of ironclad examples of her corruption and greed. I just hope the general public is more informed about her than I’m giving them credit for.

Trump really screwed up when he as much as directly admitted he was hiding his tax returns because he didn’t want people to know he pays no Federal tax.

Hillary really hit him hard on this point, that alone will likely make her the next President without anything else Trump opened himself up for.

Way too much emphasis has been put on Hillary’s health and that all is in the past now in the minds of the voters since she appeared full of health, vim and vigor last night that was at least the equal of Trump if not more.

I think this debate has made Hillary the next President, Trump should have prepared for it based on Hillary’s past performance if he wanted to win the election.

If you underestimate a Clinton you lose.

Get used to saying President Clinton again, she is now likely to win (watch the upcoming polls shift back to her).

Thinking that this one debate will make or break either candidate is just plain foolish. Some think one did better, others think the other did better …. but at the end of the day neither scored much, and I truly believe almost everyone will forget who said what by tomorrow.

I believe the Trump Team will analyze yesterday’s performance six ways to Sunday resulting in a much better performance by Donald next time. He learns. He adapts. He destroys.

No one is talking about Lester The Molester. Fucken nigger was practically endorsing Hillary.

Gonna do errands with dad all morning. Will get to my copfuk story this afternoon.

I realized last night how profoundly ignorant Hillary Clinton is, how singularly devoted to navigating within the Washington Consensus she is. She has mastered the twists and turns of this distorted landscape, learning to sell influence, curry favor and dispose of enemies. But alas, anyone so imbued with all the self-serving lies and erroneous assumptions that promote this warfare-welfare state is a clear and present danger to us all. There she was, implying without justification that we must contain an aggressive Russia and stating as fact what is not known, that Russia hacked those emails. Hillary could do no better than evoke some dimwitted cold war mentality as if that could be a suitable way to unify our divided country. What a disgrace. At least Trump mentioned the Fed and questioned her proclamations about Russian hacking, but it is scary indeed that the Donald is the only thing that stands beween us and this neocon Harpy. Like her think tank pals, Hillary is astonishingly incapable of acknowledging mistakes or redirecting policy in the face of catastrophic failure. If we had a functioning mainstream press and not a class of scribbling courtiers, her foreign policy record would havee disqualified her long ago.

My meager take on the debate. We have one candidate that supports and brags about raising taxes, more and bigger government, more endless war, and more redistribution. We have another that wants to invest in the public by lowering taxes for all, is anti fed reserve and anti endless war. It seems we do have a clear choice this time. Oh, and the second guy didn’t go into the gutter given many opportunities like the first person did.

I agree Mike

Donald kept it civil and now today many are complaining that he was too nice. But like nickel said it is early innings. Nobody is going to remember what happened last night a day from now anyways.

People rooting for Hillary seem happy today but I agree with observations of HSF. Something wasn’t right with her eyes. She looked okay but had so much mark-up on she would make a corpse in a mafia funeral home blush.

Her best health days are in rear view mirror. She won’t be able to hide in Chappaqua for another six weeks. She has been falling and bumping her head for years. Video emerges and we are supposed to believe that it was pneumonia. Loaded like a sack of beets into vanbulance then 90 minutes later out for a fucking walk like nothing happened.

Look at her. The way she is holding her hand seems odd to me for someone who has breathing problems. She looks like she is having a seizure. But mention it out loud and be told that you are conspiracy theorist. This even though it has been documented that she had serious brain injury couple years back.

I wouldn’t want her running a 7/11 and yet millions are ready to vote for her.

It’s fucked!

At the very least, last night’s debate was a draw because no one got knocked out – but – at the same time – no one changed any minds, either. Those supporting Trump still do and likewise for the harpy.

We also should remember this was the first time Trump ever debated one-on-one on the national stage. Hillary has done it 14 or 15 times. In this light, Trump did a fantastic job. Even though he did not hit on hot button topics like Benghazi or the Clinton Foundation last evening, he still has two more debates to go.

Another thing to consider is how the debate was biased against Trump from the outset. Lester Holt bringing up the “birther” issue to Trump but not the Clinton Foundation to Hillary? PUH-lease. Yet, Trump overcame it all and more than that, he further defined himself as the “candidate for change” and continually pointed out ( and, in my opinion, successfully) how Hillary remains the “vote for the status quo”.

Hillary, on the other hand did not cough up any lougies, fall asleep or collapse behind her podium. She also was somewhat successful (with Lester Holt’s help) in making the debate about Trump instead of herself.

Overall, notwithstanding the clueless spin of the punditry, and making an educational guess regarding the mindset of the regular voters, I consider last night’s debate a tie at the very least with perhaps a slight advantage going to Trump because he decimated the Establishment’s “unfit” argument against him.

This is my overall take, in spite of that sexy little shoulder shimmy that probably gave Westcoaster, Cubbya and Dougie Becker some wood last night:

I just checked a shitload of online polls and Trump is ahead in all of them, way ahead in the usual suspects like Drudge. IMHO his out of the park moment was when he asked Hitlery why she was concerned about these topics now, since she’s had 26 years to do something, but didn’t. I think that should be his main goto topic, since he can’t be held responsible for our sorry state of affairs-but the career politicians should be. It resonates and is oh-so simple.

You know what’s ridiculous…Trump supporters…

The idea that a human being can do no wrong because a segment of society wants the other side to lose is infantile…

Hillary, as has been said many times, is a flawed candidate. Only a slim majority of democrats want Hillary. Trump, on the other hand, didn’t win the primaries with a majority, or even a slim majority of republicans. And his flaws, while much more pronounced than Hillary’s, are essentially denied by supporters like they don’t exist…

Yes, Hillary is establishment, yes she supported the Iraq war, yes she supported the TPP, and yes she has been spinning the email controversy instead of just getting out in front of it…all flaws, all unfavourable…But Trump? No tax returns, the people aren’t interested…Birther…moved on…Relative idiot…plain spoken…

Trump and Palin made it okay to be entirely disrespectful to the Office of the President…Which creates a narrative that no-one should respect any government official that is from the “other” party….Or the police…

While Hillary is the status quo, Trump is enormously regressive…Unfortunately, that state is inhabited by white nationalists, isolationists, homophobes and misogynists. Not a group friendly to the melting pot…

…and now instead of dismantling NATO, he wants to strengthen it…a flip flop that will be denied as such by the deplorables…

All of the bullshit that Trump has spouted, that made him the darling of the anti-establishment is and will be scrubbed clean BY THE ESTABLISHMENT to get him elected. And his supporters won’t care…Which essentially means that Trumps support is based purely on the character he pretended to be, as opposed to policy.

Pure Kabuki…to any critical thinker…
